Howard Stern!?

Okay, so not sure where this would fit in for "group threads"....it's not really Television & Movies, or News & Politics...so here we go! Just wanted to get something going so that we could discuss the show and also so that those who have can share with those that don't ;)

Who heard Howard this AM? DH gave me the following summary. What did he miss? (He's famous for only giving 1/2 the story!)

Howard was a great show this morning. They got George Dukay (sp) formally
"Sulu" on the original Star Trek show to join their cast as the show's
announcer. It was really quite amusing. The big draw for the show today
being that it was day one on Sirus was that they teased the topic for about
a month on the last show. The show was called "revelations" in which each
cast member had to reveal a deep dark secret. They did it anonymously by
telling this one guy Will and he had to decide if the secret was good enough
to make the cut. So they teased this revelations show and finally laid them
on the table this morning at 8am. They will reveal who said what next
Monday. Some of the revelations....

"I cheated on my wife and she caught me"
"I recently got a girl pregnant and paid for the abortion"
"I have masterbated by using meat and vegetables"
"I used to hide in the bathroom closet and pleasure myself while female
relatives went in to use the bathroom"
"I once passed out from alcohol poisoning and had to be taken to the
hospital. When I came to a friend of the same sex was fondling my genitals"

There were 11 in total...I think you get the gist though...

Yes, I saw that, since I posted in it. I wanted to start a group thread to discuss the show, much like they have for TV shows and movies etc. I just don't know where to put it since there really isn't a "radio" forum. Feel free to move it if you think there is someplace more appropriate for it.

I can't do that after I created it, but if a mod feels that it needs to have a warning it it, they can definitely add one!

And as for the #3 or #4 comment - don't click on the title if you don't want to talk about it. No problem. The only thread I saw that referred to Howard was the Sirius one that Heidi posted - but really, I wanted to talk about Howard Stern's show the same way that other people talk about TV shows etc.

edited because, really, this is stupid to fight about. Sorry if my post came across as an attitude to you, lawyergirl. Really, I didn't see the need for your sarcastic first post as what I was trying to do was create a thread to talk about Howard's show daily.

Anyway, did anyone else listen in this AM? I won't be able to listen because I ride the train every day :(

My husband has it in his car, so I told him to tape it this morning so I could hear it later (we'll see if he was able to figure out how to work his new toy later :p ). That's hilarious that they got George Dakay(sp) as an announcer! Can't wait to see which revelation belongs to which person.

I almost spit my water all over the computer screen when I read those revelations! I never did get to hear them. I only get to listen for a half an hour on my way to work, and they kept saying they were gonna do it next, but kept getting off on other subjects. George Dukay was sooo funny. They talked a bit about David Lee Roth, they didn't slam him or anything, just constructive criticism. They talked about how funny it would be to bring in William Shatner while George Dukay (who was in Star Trek) was in the studio this week, because they thought Shatner would be jealous of the attention George was getting, start claiming to be gay, and making up being gay stories (I'm not going to repeat them, but you can imagine) to try and outgay George. I love that guy's voice. He's hilarious. That's all I really heard, then I had to get out of the car. They are replaying the shows at 9 p.m. on Howard 100. They all sounded like they were having a great time. I was so glad to have Howard back for my drive to work, it's been so boring the past few weeks. I only wish I had more time to listen.

i love howard, too!

not only did i subscribe to sirius, but we switched over to comcast so i can get him "on demand." have you guys heard them talking about "supertwink" the movie? oh my gosh, it's the most awful thing i have ever seen! awful in a bad way, not awful in a funny way. when they did a practice run on air last week howard was calling sal and richard christie idiots for wasting money and making a terrible movie.

for all us west coast listeners, howard 101 airs the show on west coast time, plus they are going to air it at night. fortunately i have the S50 so i can set it to record the show and i can listen to it later that day or the next day.

as for the revelations, they also had:

"i've had cosmetic surgery"
"i have a half sister that i don't know and don't want to know"
"a guy once **** on my chest"

they are supposed to reveal the answers on next monday's show. howard also confirmed that he and beth are NOT married, but they kept up the rumor to see how everyone would react.

i'm glad to hear from other howard fans. most people look at me like i'm nuts when i tell them i listen and love his show!

I am listening to David Lee Roth since HS isn't on 92.3 anymore and it's horrible! It's like a train wreck but I can't turn it off. I can't wait to get my sirius.

yeah, it's called the S50 and it's the size of an ipod and works kind of like a tivo. it's an expensive system, $350 for the player and car kit, and another $100 if you want the home dock (which most people get).

you can set it to record certain shows, like howard stern, then you can take it with you and listen in your car or on the go, like at the gym. it also functions as an mp3 player, so you can download songs onto it. the really cool thing is that if a song is playing on sirius, you can push a button and it will save the song for you on your S50. if you are into sports, you can program it to give you live updates on game scores. i'm still learning to use it, so i don't think i'm using it to its full potential just yet.

there haven't been any "new" revelations. everyone has spent this week mulling over the 11 ones revealed on the first show. on monday they will reveal the identities.

although earlier this week they did have a "revelation" about JD. everyone found out that he had just lost his virginity, so they had the girl he slept with one the phone and they talked to her about it. it was pretty funny.

My DH only caught two of them yesterday, I believe they were that Richard Christy paid for a girl to have an abortion recently and that Sal used to masturbate while hiding in the bathroom closet when female relatives were using the bathroom. Anyone have any more? I have to say I was pretty surprised to hear that Richard got a girl pregnant after all the crap they give him about never being with women.

SCOTT (the engineer)- cheated on his wife and got caught

HOWARD- had cosmetic surgery (about 10 years ago, nose job and had the fat sucked out of his chin)

FRED- has a half sister that he doesn't know and doesn't want to know

GARY- he and a friend called for massage girls but were left standing in their underwear

JD- spent over $10,000 on internet porn

JASON- addicted to masturbation, prefers it over sex with his wife

Yay! Good for you! I like to listen to it on my computer as well. Howard is not available online but there are other talk and music channels that are.

I LOVE listening to Howard in the morning. It is my little ritual every day. :)
