Hello all! I have decided to jump into scrapbooking and have begun gathering all the supplies I will need. I would like your advice on which trimmer to get. I have been looking at craft stores and on eBay and there are sooo many to choose from. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to which one to buy?

I am not sure if I should buy one that would be easy to carry in my tote or one that is bigger and would stay at home on my desk (where there really isn't any room for something like this). I am thinking one that I could carry with me would make the most sense so I could do just that, take it with me, but I am not sure if you risk losing some quality when you buy the smaller "cheaper" ones, know what I mean? I would hate to buy a cheap one that ruins my pictures and doesn't cut great.

Thanks so much!

edit: here is one I was looking at.... http://cgi.ebay.com/FISKARS-12-PAPER-TRIMMER-w-2-BLADES-Scrapbooking_W0QQitemZ8248523812QQcategoryZ83985QQ rdZ1QQcmdZViewItem how does this look?

I use the Fiskar's Rotary Trimmer. I've never had a bad cut with it. It cuts perfectly straight everytime. You can also purchase other blades for it that cut in different styles. I just use the straight blade though. Love it. I bought it at Michael's with a coupon.

Thanks for posting that, txssenorita. That is actually one I was looking at, but was wondering how heavy it was? Do you carry it with you when you/if you go to crops? I found that one on eBay and it's pretty cheap right now, with a few hours to go. Thanks!!

I used to have the old friskers one, but it never cut straight, so I got a new one for Christmas. I now have the centerpede cutter and I *ADORE* IT. It's perfect! It's a little on the expensive side, but I love it.

If you're looking for a trimmer to take along to crops though, I might suggest the smaller ones. I typically use my trimmer to cut card stock to do new designs though, so that's why I do not have one.

Good luck finding one- ebay is a terrific place to find scrapbooking stuff!
