DH and I celebrate our 2nd anniversary in June. Last year we went up to Lake George NY for 1 night and while it was all right, I would like something a bit more romantic. I would like something with a option for a hot tub/jacuzzi suite and would like the place to have a heated pool and good restuarants/sight seeing nearby or even in the hotel/resort. We are willing to fly/travel to areas outside NY, but would like to keep any driving to 3 hours or less. Any reccommendations?

I don't know your exact location, but what about the Hamptons?

How about:

Driving Distance < 3 hours:

the Poconos?
Atlantic City?
Forks of Long Island?

Flying + a bit of driving < 2 hours:

Hotel in DC? (A variety come to mind...it is my hometown so let me know...)
Inn at Little Washington (http://www.theinnatlittlewashington.com/home.asp)
Bed and Breakfast in Montreal?

We live in Upstate NY the Albany area. I have seen beautiful pictures of B&B's in the Hamptons, but I don't know if it would be in our budget!

We love Montreal, I didn't even think of that. I think DC would be awesome, but I'm not sure how much time we would have off. DH is taking a few days off for our anniversary this year, but we have to wait until the time is approved :(

Maybe somewhere in the Berkshires? These 2 threads have some info:

What is your budget - that might help?

I don't have a set budget exactly, but I'm thinking maybe $100-$150.00 per night for lodging. I'm not sure about meals and sightseeing. Maybe total $600-$800.00  I haven't ever planned a weekend thing so I'm not sure if this is a reasonable amount.

Not sure what kinds of 'sites' you like.

Gananoque - 1000 Islands area in Ontario/US Boarder on St.Laurence river is really pretty. Lots of B&B's, cruise on the river, casino, etc.

A little further (in Canada)
Prince Edward County - again B&B's a few resorts, a bunch of wineries and some really nice restaurants

Both are small town kind of places.

If you want more city feel, not sure what the drive to Quebec City would be for you. But you feel like you are in France.
