Anyone know where I can get Bumble & Bumble hair powder online? It's supposed to help to make your hair less greasy on days you don't have time to wash. My hairstylist (at an Aveda salon!) recommended it.

But I can't find it online ANYWHERE!!! I can find Bumble & Bumble, and discussions about the powder, but I can't find an online store that carries it.

According to that auction, it's discontinued.

Also, a lot of sites said it's basically just colored cornstarch with scent added. The blonde version is white, so if you have light hair you could probably just get away with using cornstarch from the grocery store.

I was talking with a few Bumble and Bumble representatives about the hair powder recently. One told me that it was very difficult to use (he is a hair stylist and he said he had trouble using it on his customers and couldn't imagine people doing it on themselves without making a mess). It has been discontinued, but I believe they are developing another version of it--an improved one, so that it isn't as difficult to use. Neither of them were certain on that, though.

My grandmother had a CAN of powdered spray stuff when I was young. It was "hairwash in a can" sort of thing. You just sprayed it on the greasy spots and combed through... it actually worked pretty well! That's why i was interested in the bumble & bumble stuff... I can't go a day without washing my hair.

Anyone know if any other similar products exist??

Just plain ole baby powder. My college roomate and I (both blondes) used to do it on days that we had Dance class in the morning and not enough time before our next class to go home and shower. We'd sprinkle a little in and comb through and put our hair back into a ponytail - because, though it makes it looks a lot less greasy, wearing it down was still not an option.

I suggest just buying a little bottle of unscented baby powder and giving it a try...its a very cheap option so even if it doesn't work for you, you aren't much money down the drain. Good luck!

Just use cornstarch. Cornstarch actually will blend better then baby powder.

I bought a bottle of waterless shampoo for camping once. It's basically strong alcohol gel, like hand sanitizer. My scalp burned so badly, I'd rather be greasy.

I run my hands through the front of my hair all the time and I've used cornstarch for as long as I can remember. I just sprinkle some in my hand, smooth is over my roots (and bangs) and then brush it. I'm a brunette and haven't had a problem with it showing or anyone ever noticing. And a bottle/container should last you for months and months.

I even used this stuff when I was in the hospital, and it works OK on really gross hair (it's great between shampoos, in the summer, between blow-outs, for us frizzy haired women who don't wash our hair every day):
