walkway from front door to driveway.

We received an estimate for the brick pavers and it was over $3,500 for a 50 ft walkway. Our budget is about $2K max for the walkway, and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions what we could do within this budget?

I was thinking a concrete walkway would be less expensive...something like this:

Heidi - I don't know if I can really help, but wanted to add that we stained concrete and it looks great and was easy! Concrete stains and paints come in tons of colors and you can do different designs if you are so inclined (we were scared of designs), but it is A LOT cheaper than pavers and rocks.

Another idea is to put in slabs of rock yourselves. We have a walkway in the back (50+ ft) which we made more like a garden path (with grass in between), probably cost us $750 and we dug to make even etc.

Just a couple of ideas. Good luck!!

Not only can you stain concrete, you can texture it to look like stone or brick or a multitude of other things. It's concrete, but a step further. My SIL did it herself and it looks fantastic. We've also had some upscale restaurants opt for it when they were looking for some value engineering ideas.

I'll see if I can find the pictures of it.

Edited to add picture: the technique is called "stamped concrete"
