Has anyone tried to stretch canvas before?

I bought a painting on ebay and its a reproduction done on canvas and it says that I need to stretch it on canvas bars. Has anyone ever done this?
Is it possible to just mount and frame it like a regular print? I'm totally clueless.

Take it to Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I used to work for a craft store called Old America, my frame manager used to stretch canvas on bars for customers. You might call and ask if they can do it.

it's a pain in the neck; i second the suggestion to have it done professionally. i was a painting/fine arts major in college, and we had to stretch and prep all of our canvases prior to painting. lots of struggle and hard work, and i can't imagine stretching an already-completed painting correctly!
