Is the movie that's out right now based only on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe? I like to read books before I see the movie, and I have finished that particular book, but not the whole series. I just want to be sure the movie won't spoil anything for me. :)

I'm not sure, I haven't read the book. However.... brief synopsis of the movie (possible spoilers?):

It's war time, the 4 kids get sent off to live with the professor. The little girl stumbles upon the wardrobe during a game of hide and seek, meets Mr. Tumnus, who intended to kidnap her. For her visit, time stands still, no one believes her. Then, the younger boy stumbles upon the wardrobe/Narnia, meets the queen (the witch) who feeds him. In the end, all 4 pass into Narnia. The younger boy runs off to the witch to anger his siblings, finding it is a trap. The other 3 go off to get him, and don't want to fufill the prophecy. Battle later, the lion is killed (sacrafices himself) by the witch. The lion's good guys battle with the witch's bad guys. The witch loses. Prophecy fufilled. Time passes in the wardrobe, but has stood still in the "real world."

I had never read any of the books, and DH and I went and saw it last night. It is the only movie I have ever seen where I didn't know what it was about (not really), and I really enjoyed it. I am now looking forward to reading the books.

I really liked the movie. I never read the book, but DH has and he said it's very accurate according to the book.

It's based solely on the first book. Great series, though.

WOW! I just got back from watching it. It was beautiful, and they did an amazing job casting the kids! I really want to read the book (again?)!

I got $25 for AMC for Xmas and I'm using it to see Narnia and Harry Potter. Just gotta find the time. I really wanted to see these both in the theatre and not wait until they come out on DVD. I hope I make it there.

I haven't read the books, but I saw the movie a few nights ago and I loved it. Great actors/actresses! I think the movie has motivated me to read the books now. :)
