View Full Version : Anyone flown Spirit Airlines?

We are going to St. John in March and I found an awesome deal on Orbitz for RT airfare from DFW to St. Thomas on Spirit Airlines. I have never heard of this airline before though and am just wondering how it is? TIA!

We took Spirit Airlines to Florida. Didn't have any problems with the airline.

We took Spirit Air to Las Vegas for New Years. It was ok. The flight was at a late time, but I think that's partly why it was so cheap. If you're looking for something high class, Spirit Air is not it, but it will get you there.

Exactly what I was going to say.... we took them from NY to Orlando one year (DH had to go for business, and took me with him - same price for two tickets at Spirit as what it would have cost at American or something like that ;) ), and on the way back some guy got into an arguement with the girl at the counter because he didn't want his baggage searched. Needless to say the "manager" came out to deal with the problem, and they defenitely had NOT been trained to deal with customers. She and her employees got into a screaming match with him, and she proceeded to yell at everyone in line "This man will NOT be on your flight" while everyone just kind of turned away. In the end, another passenger ran and got airport security (a brawl was going to happen), and they took the whole situation away.

Defenitely not high class, not trained, but cheap and got us there.

Interesting stories! I think we will end up flying with them because like nuhmah said their price for 2 tickets is the close to the price of one with American which is the only other airline that is really a convienent option since Delta has closed most of their gates at DFW airport now.

I flew spirt airlines to Disney one year and My DH and I had no problems with them really. I would definatly say go with them and save a few bucks.
