Charting Our Course to the BFPs

http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.

So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!

Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.

Your threadmistresses for this thread are Polkadot and who else?!

To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.

If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!

Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb

* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.

* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.

* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.

* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.

* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.

* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.

* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.

* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.

* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.

* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.

* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!

* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!

* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations

This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!

•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

Hi! I'd like to join. DH and I were going to wait for the summer to start trying. I was ready, but DH wasn't. After visiting 2 friends with babies this past weekend, he agreed he is ready!!

Anyway, I'm nervous, excited everything. I haven't been charting lately but had charted for ages previously. I'm going to go back to it now.

Wow, new thread. Congrats Aletheia!!!!

Welcome, berry!

Thanks polkadot, Abirney, and gymwidow, for weighing in (in the last thread) on my CD 3 bloodwork timing question.

I went this morning for the bloodwork, but unlike gymwidow (do you already have your results?) I have to wait to call on Monday, b/c they have a 2 1/2 day turn around. Oh well.

polkadot -- sorry your doc is making you wait three more months to start any testing. I had a (short) struggle in my mind over whether we should wait until the 1 year mark, or start now. I really hope you get your BFP before you have to start down the testing road!

Wow a new thread already! Guess I've got to catch up...

Congrats Aletheia on your BFP! H&H 9 months!

Welcome Berry!

I'm still just waiting to O. I'm using the Clearblue Easy OPKs this time because they were out of the Target brand- I'm not sure yet if I like them. It looked almost positive today. We are trying the SMEP with preseed this month- hoping it works! :)

Good luck to the testers- there are some great looking charts out there!

Happy Birthday, Delaney!

Wow, thanks for all the hoorays, everyone! We're just finishing up with the packing for tomorrow's plane flight and everything feels a bit unreal. Including my boobs. And my trips to the bathroom. I've known since yesterday, but somehow telling people-- you guys, DH-- makes it so much more real, which somehow means unreal... It's more of a shock now!

DH was first really embarassed to reach into the Christmas stocking I gave him at a fancy restaurant this evening and pull out pee sticks on the table. You should have seen him blush, whisk them off the table, and say, "REALLY? JUST LIKE THAT?" Tee hee.

Thanks again, ladies!

P.S.-- Does anyone know how to start a new pregnancy group thread? Do I have to page a mod?

polkadot
12-21-2005, 08:27 PM
i think you just have to start the new thread in the right thread and thats it.....its not like a journal...where the mod has to approve it...good luck and Congrats again....i think you will have a few new members sooner than we all think....;) i hope i am one of them....

Happy Almost-Friday everyone. Nothing much to say here - booooooring CD4. My bloodwork yesterday was fine and I started another round of 50mg of Clomid last night. I have an u/s scheduled for CD11, next Thursday. Hopefully I'll have a nice follie or two at that point and can get my HCG shot at the same time.

Aletheia, congrats!!!! Merry Christmas! (or Happy Hanukkah!) H&H 9 months to you! I hope a lot of us can follow you into a new Sept Mommies thread. :)

Michelle, LOL. My DH is looking forward to that part of the cycle, too. ;)

berry, welcome! I hope you're not in this thread for long!

mayham, I'm really lucky, my RE's office does all their bloodwork right there in the office, so I had a call by 3 pm yesterday telling me my results. So I started my Clomid last night = woohoo more nighttime hot flashes!

LDS Angel, ugh, what a frustrating chart! I'm so sorry, I know how that feels.

Just popping by to check in.
Congrats to the BFPs of last thread!

As for me, Just waiting to O - I went into the DR for a prog blood test yesterday to see if I o'd, but since I'm temping, I'm pretty sure I haven't yet. I was on Clomid 5-9 this cycle and am also on Estrogen to thicken up my lining - but need to confirm when I'm supposed to go off it???
So still no O - CD20 today for me.... so still holding out hope for an O - My opk line was a little darker yesterday (not positive yet, but inching towards it) - so I'm hoping I get the positive today.... I pestered my Dh into BD last night - he has a cold and wanted to go to bed, but with good CM - I am trying not to waste any days. But with more and more family coming to our house over the course of the next few days... not sure how many more opportunities we'll have.... Cross your fingers for me to O soon...

Gotta get back to work. Happy Holidays everyone!!

Well my temp took a huge nosedive this morning. We had rotten timing this month due to the fact DH had a really bad cold the beginning of last week. Now it seems that I've also picked up a cold, so I have the combination of AF and headcold to look forward to for the holidays. I was also running a fever last night and took some fever reducers. Does anyone know if that would affect your temp in the AM?

gymwidow
12-22-2005, 06:21 AM
CTs Punkin, I temped last month and my temps never showed an O, but my blood test did. So it's possible that you did! I hope you get your results soon and that they're what you want to see!

Bellefior, maybe? I don't really know. Sorry that's not much help!

The trend continues....
I got 2 BFP'S this morning!!! My EDD is my dad's birthday, September 4th. :D :D :D :D

Sxs 1-5 dpo - none
6-7 dpo - burning type cramps that started at 2pm and lasted until the morning of 8dpo. They were similar to AF cramps but they burned.
8dpo - now - nauseous
7dpo and today 10dpo - gagged when brushing my teeth
9dpo - (tmi) really bad diarrhea

What is exactly does it mean to temp first thing in the monring? Let me describe me typical wake up routine. The TV is set on a timer to go off at 6:40am. I usually first hear it around 6:50 but I am still sort of dreaming/sleeping/half awake. During this time both Dh and I move around quiet a bit, usually getting closer to cuddle. Still not awake but moving around. At about 6:55 or 7:00 is when I am actually awake enough to think "ACK! it is morning! Reach for the thermometer and temp" I can then temp without moving too much more or sitting up, turning on light, talking to Dh or dogs. Would all of this moving around before I am awake enough to think negatively effect my temps? I really want to when in the morning routine I need to temp to get accurate results.

I normally hit the snooze button a couple of times and move around quite a bit in the mornings before I actually wake up enough to grab the thermometer. This may account for my pretty erratic pre-O temps, or it may just be my body. Either way, I can still tell when I have a thermal shift after O. If it has any effect, it's not that significant.

Thanks everyone. It's so surreal. I thought I might be because I was nauseous and that never happens to me. roberta - I have been getting very consistent temps in the morning - it's nearly always 97.3. I set a little travel alarm specifically for temping. I turn it off and pop the thermometer in my mouth with very little movement. After temping, I snuggle in and snooze for another 20 minutes until my real alarm goes off. :)

Di, yes, lots of hoping!

I kept waiting to join the "trying soon" thread and it seems I've put it off too long! We've been talking about trying in the spring for a long time, and I had planned to go off BC when I did, but a lot has happened in the last couple months that has made us...reprioritize. FIL died unexpectedly of a brain hemorrhage on November 21st at 55 years old. It really put our TTC plans up in to the air, and we weren't sure where they would be when they came back down again. There have been so many deaths in the family this past year and suddenly life and family seem so important and money and being sensible less so...not that it's crazy for us to get pregnant now. Anyway, we decided to go ahead and see what happened, we're unlikely to get pregnant the first month, and it's very possible we won't concieve until after our initial start date anyway. But it is fun to have the possibility of it happening sooner. So we did the deed today and I went and had a glass of grapefruit juice (wonder what MIL would think if she knew the real reason I was drinking her juice!) It's my first month charting off the pill and my sleep schedule has been crazy because we're in England staying with MIL for Christmas - just two weeks after returning from England after FIL's funeral. But it *could* be the right time, DH knew it could be the right time, and still wanted to go ahead, which I guess means we're tentatively starting TTC. Sorry for the novel, I have so many thoughts in my head right now I could write 20 times more, but I'll resist :)

Anyway, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Okay, since I haven't ever gotten a positive OPK, I'm not really sure what they look like. I'll post a picture, so if anyone with a good idea of what they look like when positive could give me an answer on whether or not I'm on the right track,or maybe it would be positive tomorrow, that would be great.

It's darker than any other OPK I've used. I just want to make sure that it's a positive one before I mark it that way.

FF had pegged me at O'ing on CD9, then my temps dropped. Then it looked like I was O'ing around CD16 with my CM, but I had a weird spike on CD10 so it's not bringing up crosshairs. Ahhh... the joys of charting! :)

sare I think maybe you just did O? It looks like you have a slight temp rise today, see what the next couple days do.

CD11 here. CP seems to be higher today but I have virtually no CM, just a very small amt of sticky. I do have a pinchy feeling around where I think my left ovary is but my back/pelvis is bothering me again so it might be that.
I do have a very TMI/embarrassing ? though.... I almost never see SR.... and alot of times after BDing I notice alot of it "spilled out".... should I be concerned or doing something different?

I am still in shock. We took the month off charting because of all the testing we were going through. I know I must have O'ed after CD21 because that bloodwork showed that I hadn't O'ed yet. Congrats, UTChick!!! I'm so happy for you! :D That is such a great Christmas present! H&H 9 months!

MrsJackson, I think that some of the OPKs are more sensitive than others, or just have more dye. I think I remember seeing that you were using Answer. The one month I used those, I was so confused because it was positive something like 4 days in a row! I dual tested with $ Tree tests and they were negative 2 of the first 4 days. So I think it is possible it is still picking up your surge- keep BDing!

Thank you all for your well wishes. You have no idea what the support from you all has meant to me over the past several months. I cannot tell you how much it means to have a great group of women know exactly how I have felt during this entire process and who are so eager to lend an ear, shoulder, etc. Thank you all.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

CD 11 today. Another temp drop. Maybe I still haven't O'ed?! I can't tell. :o

But just for fun I peed on an OPK this morning, and it was negative. I'm still up in the air whether or not that means I have O'ed, or not.

Don't 'they' say that it will be within 48 hours of the first positive OPK? Or am I dreaming that?

Either way, I suppose we'd better BD this morning too. ;) (I'm getting tired.....)

O wow...i am so excited for you Kathy...(like i have said everywhere) ...CONGRATS!!!!

as for me cycle day 17...starting to see some EW CM...OPK's are still faint so lets hope for tomorrow....i am already sore from all this babydancing and we couldnt find any FemGlide in the stores and i couldnt order Preseed....so we are on our own this month....

but i forgot to tell you all the cutest thing....
Friday after Gramps' funeral we were all sitting around talking and someone asked us about babies and ofcourse it made me sad...but then..James...B's cousin said that Gramps had told him that if you wanted to have a baby all you had to do was hang your underwear on the bedpost while you Bded and you'd have a baby in 9 months....so at this point we are willing to try anything....;)

it was just so cute and so Gramps':D

A belated Merry Xmas and congrats to all the recent BFP's.

AF showed yesterday, as I suspected. And my headcold is still raging full force. Gotta love the double whammy!

My FIL was saying how he wanted to do Xmas Eve next year because maybe I would be pregnant byy then and we wouldn't want to cook. I reminded him that if I were pregnant, we might not want to travel 50 miles to their house. He did say he'd drive up himself in the Cadillac and pick me and DH up. He even said we could sit in the back seat while he drove! ;)

Congrats, UTChick!
I haven't checked in recently b/c I had to make an unexpected trip last week for my grandpa's funeral. Also haven't been temping for that reason. I do have a question about temping. My DH is a very light sleeper, and I'm sure that the beeping on my thermometer would wake him up. For those mornings when I wake up early at say 5 but don't have to get up till 7, according to TCOYF I should take my temp then, but I don't want to wake up DH. Any suggestions?

JayJay
12-26-2005, 07:06 AM
Today I had a temp jump, so I'm thinking that I O'ed yesterday. But we didn't get a chance to BD, because of all the festivities.

We did however get the chances the three days before, so I'm hoping that will end up being a good thing.

jbemommy, The thermometer that I use doesn't have a beeper. But then again it's hard for me to stay awake sometimes waiting for the thermometer to get done. I find myself dozing off before I know it's done.

I actually would prefer one with a beeper, but just haven't purchased one yet.

Does your DH have a hard time going back to sleep? Mine wakes easily, but can go back to sleep fast, so it doesn't bother him when I wake up to temp. GL!

jbemomma sorry to hear about your grandpa. Also for the beeping, try wrapping your hand around the therm to muffle the sound.

Well I got to see my 2yr old niece yesterday, she's such a cutie! And she's going to be a big sister in about a month too! Also found out yesterday my cousin and his wife are expecting in August. Yesterday we had Christmas at my brother's house and I got the opportunity to play with and feed and change my 3 month old nephew so that my Brother and SIL could do the entertaining, and it was so wonderful! Joel and I were talking last night about we definitely feel ready, and when he saw me with J, that it made him realize how badly he wants this now, too.

Dumb multi-vit question: I just found my bottle of multivitamins I got a couple months ago and decided I'd better start taking them. Will that affect my cycle much by starting mid-cycle? Also, they are just a regular complete multi (it does have 400mcg folic acid)... are those ok or should I get some prenatals? TIA!

last night i had just a tiny bit of EW after wiping...OPK was getting darker but not quite there yet....so today i get a really + OPK and good O cramps and then i check CM and it was creamy? WTF??

I even drank that yucky grapefruit juice this morning...anyone have any explanation? The only one i have is that I will O tomorrow or the next day and the OPK is picking up on the surge and to just keep on BDing...it would help if i had my fricken temp from this morning but NO...i forgot to set my alarm...UGHHHH:mad:

anyway..we are just gonna keep on BDing...

polkadot, I hope that you get things figured out soon. Being a newbie like I am, I am still trying to see things the right way. This whole process can be very confusing.

As for me, today my temp went back down again. Not much, but down. I was thinking that it would be going up, so I'm really confused now. I don't know what to think.

Hi ladies! Sorry I went MIA over the holidays. We got a little busy, but I was lurking and reading along. WOOHOO to UTChick for such a fabulous Christmas present!

Today is my CD9 and I had some nice creamy CM yesterday, which I'm taking as a good sign. I think I'll start the Robitussin tonight just in case. Last month I seemed to have plenty of EWCM, but I'm not sure if that was my own or a result of the Robitussin. Anyway, I have an u/s on Thursday to check my follie growth and hopefully get or schedule my HCG shot. I can't wait! I'm ready to get to the next stage in this cycle!

Congrats UTChick!! Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months:)

I am 9dpo and went to the ob/gyn today. He was very proactive for us! We scheduled a HSG for Jan. 16th (I have off the day MLK day) and called in a SA for DH (I actually got the cup when I left). Then if everything looks ok he is going to go ahead and put me on Clomid even though I am clearly ovulating. He said that Clomid produces a better environments for the egg and sperm. I took all my charts with me, but he didn't care to see them. I am so glad he isn't waiting around, just got the ball rolling. DH on the other hand isn't too excited about the whole cup thing though. He thinks we should just try forever. I am sure he is embarrased to do it, but I don't know why since he can do it at home and I take it in. No one will ever see his face. Hoping the New Year is a good one!

Hey ladies - I'd like to join you all...

CC Name: octoberkate
Me: Kate, 30
DH: Rich, 39
Married since: 10/13/2002
DS #1: Alex 4/5/04
Off BCP since: Dec. 15, 2005
TTC since: Dec. 15, 2005
Charting since: October 2005 (for practice and totally half assed)
Known issues/test results: None
Chart: how do I link it?
Current status: waiting to O (?)

Hey ladies - I've been a lurker but we're off the pill and ready to get started trying for our second child. I've always had "normal" cycles, whether I was on the pill or not but last month, while on the pill, I had bleeding the entire month... huh? so it's stopped finally (two days ago) but I have no idea where that puts me in my cycle. Between coming off the pill and the weirdness in the last month while I was still on the pill I'm confused. So I guess I'll figure things out as we go along.

Ever since DS was born, I've had some serious dryness issues, regardless of how much water I drink. Is there any reason to chose something like Femglide as opposed to PreSeed or something else that might help with the lube situation?

Thanks in advance for the help ladies - I look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Dotsie- I went to FF, and added a couple of temps. I added gradually, because my temps are never erratic.

What I got when I added temps for wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday says I ovulated Christmas day. But why wouldn't my temps be going up, instead of down?

You can check it out if you want to. I'm going to leave it for awhile so you can see. Thanks!

I think FF is going by your neg opk on Xmas Day. I would say looking at your chart (without the added temps) that you did O then. I normally have 2 +'s and then 1 - opk. The day of the - opk is the day I normally O.
Octoberkate - Congrats on joining this group of lovely, knowledgable ladies. I love em!! I still have tons of boys clothes but I have been getting rid of a lot of them. If your DS is in 2t in the Spring/Summer then boy do I have a lot!! It's almost 100% from Gap.

Hi ladies,

Congrats on all the BFPs -- Wow!

Threadmistress, please move me to "Waiting to O" AF arrived on Xmas Eve, just a few hours before we were going to open presents. :(

I keep thinking of a question I have. Why don't all of us get pg right away with well-timed BDing? Sperm and egg are clearly meeting. Why don't the fertilized eggs implant more often?

Dotsie
12-27-2005, 02:21 PM
Jeant ~ I'm so sorry that AF found you. It's interesting that you bring up that question. I was thinking that same thing last week. I did some research and found that couples with normal fertility have a 30% chance each month of conceiving. That the same couple will get pg within 6 months of trying and mostly everyone will get pg within the first year. I think those statistics suck!! I mean, what goes awry that a couple only has a 30% chance?
Regardless, I hope this is everyone's month for their bfp!!!

Quick post to say that I think I O'd on the 23rd, making me 4 DPO today. FF had originally had me down as Oing on the 21st, but moved it when I put in yesterday's temp. I think I agree with them. Its confusing with my temps from the 22/23rd.

Lookin' good, giry! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Well, today kind of screwed up my temp taking. I've been up since 5, with a DH that can't stop coughing. I temped then, and it was 97.6. After using the temp adjuster on FF, it said that at 7:00 (when I normally wake up) my temp would have been 98.

So, my question is: Which temp do I use? I'd like to see the 98 be put in there, but then again I don't want to throw my chart off.

Opinions, ladies?

Good morning Ladies,
I am dpo 8 today and had a big temp drop today. 98.3 down to 97.6. Hoping it was a good dip. I was a bit shocked at the drop. I feel a bit crampy today but not af feeling.

Jenzen01
12-28-2005, 06:23 AM
Well, I have no idea what is going on with me. I put my temp in today and got crosshairs, but I don't think that's right. FF says I'm 3DPO. I thought maybe I was seeing a staircase climb or something, because I've been drying up, but who knows. I haven't had O pains like I usually do, so that's been throwing me off.

My temps are really low because I temp at 4 a.m. Gabe still wakes up at night quite a bit, so I can't get uninterrupted sleep like I'm supposed to. He often wakes up around 4, so I just temp at that time.

Anyway, DH and I aren't really trying this cycle. We had one instance during my fertile time, but that's it. He has a fishing trip planned for Sept, right when I would be due, so we're trying to hold off till next month.

Nothing new here... I haven't seen any more of that CM... just that one time yesterday. Hopefully it will show up again today. I have been feeling a bit strange the past couple days... really dizzy when I first get up and slight dizzy spells throughout the day and just kind of in a fog all day yesterday. My coworker asked if I was pg! LOL Had to tell her I hadn't O'd yet so no chance of that. I do have a bit of a kink in my neck and my pelvis is out of place again so I'll see if I can get into the chiro. today and maybe that will help. (only been to one 3 times in my life.)

dionysia Your chart looks great as well! Funny about the pickles, it was one of my biggest craving with my oldest DD. Right now I'm having more aversions than cravings, but I'm attributing in to my not feeling well.

ABirney Kinks are such a pain in the neck. :D Good luck with the chiropractor.

Here's a question for you ladies. If you have a cold during your 2WW d you take whatever works or only meds that are pg friendly? Question everyone - almost all of the temps on my chart (which I'll link in a minute once I've had a chance to do it) are from when I was on vacation and sleeping later. Yesterday, I got up at my normal time and my temp was a good bit lower. Today I accidentally overslept and my temp was right up where it was with my other later-morning vacation temps. Assuming that I will actually remember to wake up for work tomorrow and in the future at the right time, will my chart be all whacked out from the higher temps due to later wakings? I didn't even know the time of day made a difference until MrsJackson asked that question... hmmm, it seems like if I adjust them all that would be wrong - I mean, that's a lot of adjusting... but then will all my future temps look wrong too? And since I'm not a VIP member, am I even able to use the adjustment tool? Who knows.

mrsJackson- sorry i am not more help...i dont do very well with having to discard temps...i usually just dont put in a temp for that day if its really not going to make that big of a difference....

That's okay, polkadot. This stuff is way confusing. I'm just not sure that leaving a temp out now would be the best idea. Especially since I'm not quite convinced that I've even O'ed yet.

MrsJackson05 According to FF you should use the temp from when you normally wake. Maybe just leave it there and see where it fits in tomorrow.

You're probably right. But I don't have a normal wake up time temp. (If that's what you mean...???) The only temp have is 97.6, and that was at 5 this morning.

Are you meaning to go ahead and put that temp in?

MrsJackson I'm so sorry, I misread your post. :o

From what I read on FF, each individual is different. Varying waking temp times can make a huge difference in some women and none at all in others. I know that doesn't help you at all. From the looks of your chart you should have O'd (right? I don't know a thing about opk's). If so then then 98 makes more sense. JMO, but I haven't been charting long enough to be an expert.

Kristie don't be sorry! I'm still new and confused at this, too!

My guess would be that I did O. But, my temps are not saying the same thing. I just can't figure out why they're not going up.

Right now after running around the house cleaning, my temp is at 98.6.
So, from waking up early and temping (97.6
