Question -- Do you wear black hose with a fancy black dress??

Just having a light-hearted debate her at work (no one feels like working on a Monday).

If you're wearing a fancy black dress in the winter, say to a company Christmas party in a chilly climate, do you wear black hose?
Do you wear nude hose? Do you wear ANY hose?

Generally, I don't wear any hose because I like to wear strappy open-toed sandals with my black dress. If I were to wear hose, I'd go with nude.

I dunno, I see the black hose thing as a very 80's-early 90's look.

Thick black tights are still ok with say a casual little black mini and knee-high boots or casual loafer type shoes..

Same here. I'll generally freeze my toes off just so I can wear some really cute shoes. But if I had to cover my legs, I'd probably wear flesh-toned hose.

It depends on the dress and the event for me. If it's a floor length dress and a black-tie event, I will probably wear black hose (but like other said, only with closed toe shoes). If I am wearing strappy heels, then no hose (although... come to think of it, I don't ever wear strappy heals to black-tie events... [shrug])

i actually prefer sheer nude color....i know some people say you should wear shear black, but i think nude looks better sometimes...

Depending on the dress, the type of event, and the weather, I either wear no hose with strappy shoes or sheer, nude hose with closed toe shoes. I don't really like the look of black hose.

Ten years ago, I'd answer that I wore black hose. I used to wear black hose all the time. But I haven't worn any in a couple of years. Black hose looks dated to me. In fact, any color that isn't natural looks dated (unless it's tights).

If I'm wearing hose (depends on the shoe) it's a natural color.

i don't like hose either. As the posts above, i think of it like something very 80's. I think i would wear none of them. no matter how chilly is out there!! Maybe some thick black ones with boots and mini? i like that look better
