I am lucky enough to have a tv in my office so i catch dool and passions almost every day. :D

I have had it up to HERE with Kate. She is driving me bonkers with her shenanigans. I just want to smack her and that gloomy sad voice of hers. And Sami and Lucas Sheesh just get back together already. I would really love to see Kate destroyed. I can't stand her. No matter how annoying Sami can be she at least has personality! ha ha.

So, Belle's probably pg with Shawns baby, right? Rock on.

Did you notice yesterday how they highlighted the fact that every, single relationship on the show is now a triangle? Billy-Bo-Hope, Shawn-Belle-Phillip, Mickey-Maggie-Bonnie, Chloe-Brady-Nicole, Marlena-John-Roman-Kate (wait that is a rectangle!) It is getting ridiculous!

I am thrilled that Frankie is back, as I had a crush on him when he was a teen character. :o

Yes, Belle seems to be preggers w/Shawn's baby, while Marlena is carrying Roman's. I forsee a double-birth episode.

I wish that Mimi would just spill her "secret" to Rex already! They have been dragging that out way too long.

2. The character the secret is being kept from almost always reacts the way the secret keeper expects because THEY KEPT THE SECRET!

Mimi was dumb to react so emotionally when she got pregnant and her mother... yikes! Don't get me started on bonnie. She is a piece of work.

Yay a DOOL thread! I've been a DOOL addict for nearly 10 yrs.
I never get to see it much these days, but I read the recaps (and spoilers...)everyday on soapoperafan.com.

I agree, I can't WAIT for Kate to be exposed and for Lucas to hate her and get back with Sami. I've always been a Sami fan.

I'm glad Chloe is back too. I wish we could get rid of Nicole forever somehow, But I don't really see that happening.

I've watched DOOL for 20 years off and on. I have a hard time believing that the storylines back in the 80's were quite as ludicrous as they are now. I can barely watch it now.

Next month, Wayne Northrop will be returning in a different character... but, if history is anything to go by, he'll be revealed yet again to be the "real" Roman. How many times can they replay THAT storyline?? ;)

I have a vhs tape of Thanksgiving week of 1986 that I still watch occasionally. The Stockholm storyline with Orpheus. The Thanksgiving Day episode has a lot of flashbacks that are so fun to watch. I used to have the tape of the episode when Justin composed the song "Only in My Heart" for Adrienne. That got lost sometime over the last few moves.

I've dipped in and out of DOOL for years camberne, but it seems like we watched during the same time period--the heyday of the 80s I guess. I miss Shane too, and Steve & Kayla and Eve. Didn't Eugene and Calliope leave in a time machine or something? And Mrs. Horton was always making doughnuts and springing people from jail. (Did you watch Another World by any chance? I miss that show)

DOOL really got off track for awhile--Marlena was possesed, and then she was supposedly a serial killer, and people kept ending up on islands. :rolleyes: It seems to be getting back to the basic soap plot lines now, and it is becoming watchable again. It is funny that you have those old tapes with the flashbacks--they seem to be doing a lot of flashbacks right now, and occaisonally they'll show something really good like Hope with her French braids and giant shoulder pads.

Jack has been killed off and brought back so many times now that if they are going to kill him, he needs to stay good and dead. By all rights Jennifer and Abby should be completely bonkers by now, he has come and gone so many times.

They had sex the night Belle and Shawn were on their way to Jan's house. Mimi had called them and asked them to come there, but didn't say why. There was a snow storm and the car slipped off of a bridge. Belle was unconscious, so Shawn carried her to a cabin. She doesn't remember it happening. Well actually, she thought it was a dream. Than she though it happened, but it was Phillip, not Shawn. It was quite confusing. lol

But now thanks to Soapnet and TiVo I am back on thebandwagon. Although on most days I can watch the whole show in about 15 minutes when I have it TiVo'd!

The funniest thing is how EVERYONE is basically related in some way....Kate and Roman are married...but their kids were also married (lucas and sami) and they share a grandkid (will). I can't stand this Roman...I too will always think of him as CHris Kosicheck from the 80's (or Dylan's dad on 90210 :) )

I love when they do flashbacks from the old Bo and Hope days...

Time is irrelevant in Soap land! :D Belle hasn't had sex with Phillip in longer because they never had sex on their wedding night, did they? I guess they could've between the romp in the barn with shawn and phillip being sent to war but it wouldn't be a true soap twist if she wasn't married to one person and having a different persons baby (ala marlena). Either that or someone will have to steal her baby and claim it as their own. ;)

I missed about six weeks of the show from May-June and even now I only watched it a few times a week, so I am a bit shaky on a few points.

As far as I know, no one has brought up Eve yet (if Frankie meets Chloe will he have a flashback to Eve's scar??). And I think that Belle has slept with both Philip and Shawn in the last few months. I missed the shows where Mimi got out of jail, so maybe someone can clear that up?

I prefer to be somewhat confused, it distracts me from the fact that all the ages are wrong now---Belle should be like 9 or 10, but Max is now younger than she is? I hate the dress and lipstick they have belle wearing right now. The light green dress and the dark dark red lipstick. If the dress doesn't do enough to was out her porcelain skin then the lipstick finishes it off. I like the old belle better (think she is on a different soap now since her primetime show bombed!) but the new belle is getting better at acting. At first it seemed so forced but now i see signs that she is getting comfortable and things seem like they are flowing smoother. Maybe she will grow on me?

Now I tivo Days everyday (which drives DH crazy... he hates this show since he saw Marlena possessed! ha ha)...

It never dawned on me that Belle and Shawn did it! I must have been tuned out on that episode. I totally think she is pg but with Phillip's baby though (I think they did do it on their wedding night, btw)... this way they can draw out the Belle/Shawn/Phillip saga much longer.

I have been watching DOOL for as long as I can remember. In college I would make sure not to have a class during the noon time, so I could watch! :p I don't get to see it as much now...I ususally try to watch the reruns of it on Soapnet. Plus I always stay up to date with the summaries on soapcity.com.

The love triangles have got to go as well. I miss the old Bo and Hope. And thank goodness Micky got his head of the clouds and ditched Bonnie for Maggie. That was getting ridiculous!

Yes, I am pretty sure Eric Winter (Rex) is leaving the show. Also, I've heard that his character is leaving too. I've heard that he finds out Mimi had an abortion and dumps her and leaves town. There is speculation that Mimi will then get together with Shawn.

I have also heard that Austin is coming back, but I haven't heard any details.

I'm so glad that I found this thread. I've been watching DOOL my whole life. I stopped for a while after Marlena was posessed. It was just getting too crazy for me, but then shortly after one of my college roommates pulled me back in. Once I started working, I didn't get to see it that often. But now that I have DVR I watch it every day. (I was also a huge Another World fan. I love watching the reruns from the '80s on Soapnet!)

He told Jennifer that he had saved all of the mementos from their relationship when he was younger, because he thought some day he would be giving them to his wife. (violins) But then got all embarrassed and said something about, but of course that was a long time ago, and there were other relationships, and that was before Eve Donovan...etc. Basically he just mentioned her name. There was a nice flashback of teen Frankie and Jen declaring their love and having their first kiss. That was a highlight for me.


I am so glad that I do not have cable, or I would start watching Another World again just to get a look at Cass Winthrop. :rolleyes:

I think that they are keeping it fairly vague. If I remember correctly, Lexie only said that it was a rare condition that she had never seen before, but Jack only had three months to live. :rolleyes: I think they are leaving it open to say his lymphoma (I think that's what he had long ago) has returned. Either that, or it is something that he picked up while he was being held by DiMarea -- in which case it should clear up about the same time Jen falls back in love with Frankie.

I tried searching online to see what the scoop on Jack is... no results? Given his track record, I wouldn't be shocked if he was leaving (he seems to come & go a lot) but you would think there would be information if he was? My theory is: Tony has the cure to whatever is ailing Jack... I think this is another one of Tony's ploys at creating yet another love triangle (Jen/Jack/Frankie) - especially since Patrick seems to be moving on to the Billie/Chelsea storyline.

On a side note, I wonder how Patrick will react to Chelsea's kiss yesterday? I think he's going to kiss her back. And a part of me is waiting for him to truly turn into Tony's little helper... I'm with Jack, I don't trust the guy.

I don't know... i am beginning to think that maybe Frankie will end up being one of demira's cronies and Patrick will be the good guy. That would be an interesting good guy to bad guy and bad guy to good guy twist. Afterall, how else would Frankie be able to recognize Patrick than if they were both (at one time) on the Demira payroll? Just my 2 cents but Frankies sudden appearance strikes me as odd AND he is getting very close to Jack and Jennifer what with Jacks sudden bout of death and all. Also, wasn't Frankie adopted by the Bradys or do i have my family tree crossed the wrong way? So Frankie isn't a real Brady and therefore may not feel much (or any) loyalty to them.

The only reason he was up in jennifer and abbys biz was because jennifer offered him a place to stay above the garage appt. Then when bonnie moved into the mansion (and jack came home) he moved into bonnies habitat house (which has a pool but no a/c? odd.) He was up in billies biz because he wanted to get into her pants :p and now they are friends and billie is trying to take care of chelsea and also didn't have a place to live so they all live together now. I am not completely convinced that he is the bad guy yet.

I'm going to do something I rarely ever do, I'm going to applaud Kate for something she did this week: chewing Roman out. I honestly enjoyed watching Kate give Roman hell. This time Roman was actually the hypocrite when he blasted Kate for moving on with John so quickly when he had made love to Marlena and not told Kate. I have to agree with Kate (and unfortunately John) here, Roman and Marlena knew John and Kate were alive when they made love and that was wrong no matter what justifications they use. Roman didn't like when John bopped Marlena on the Titan conference table all those years ago, even though they had been victims of the Dimera's at the time. Heck he's still throwing it in John's face. Does he expect John and Kate to understand his and Marlena's dire circumstances under which they made love? Plus, no matter what Roman says, we all know he always has and always will love and want Marlena back.

Once again I loved watching Mimi give Belle hell. Mimi is absolutely, 100% right, Belle is a hypocrite for telling Mimi that lies destroy a relationship when she herself is lying to Phillip. I firmly believe that the email Shawn wrote and Jan sent off will come back to ruin everything. Phillip will find the email and realize Belle had planned to leave him for Shawn, if he already doesn't know that is.

So when there was a possibility of Billie and Patrick first getting together, I was all for it. I thought they made a good couple and were cute. Then they made love and decided they were best off as friends as they were each still hung up on Jen and Bo respectively. In fact, up to a week or two ago it was looking like Patrick still was hung up on Jen. Now we are supposed to believe Patrick has been harboring feelings for Billie all this time? I don't think so! Even if Patrick did like Billie, I just don't see Billie ever getting over Bo.

Okay, now I have said before I'm no prude, and I don't believe in censoring things on TV for the sake of not offending some people who might not like it. However, some of the remarks on the show this week were very out of place. For example, Max telling Billie "She was making it hard . . . . for him to dance because she was so beautiful" and Chelsea asking Patrick if she could "put her hand on his to see how he handles his stick." These lines, and we know what they are referring to, are so out of place on Days. These belong on a sit-com or comedy like "Sex in the City," not a soap like Days. Like I said, I'm not a prude, I just didn't think these things fit in with the Days I have known and always watched.


As much as Sami and Nicole hate one another, I really enjoy these two together. They work well together and their snide remarks at the other's expense are great. Nicole is kidding herself if she thinks there is anything she can do to get Brady back though. I honestly don't know why she'd want to be runner up to Chloe anyways.
For those who have always been suspicious of Lexie and whether she is still working for Tony or her father, next week Lexie brings in Dr Alex North, who is an old friend of Marlena's, so she says. Hmmmm, if Alex is Stefano as I have theorized, then I would think Lexie is without a doubt still in cahoots with her father and possibly her brother! But what would Lexie get out of all this? Many people are still holding onto hope that Wayne/Alex will turn out to be the real Roman.

So next week is the week I've been looking forward to for so long, Kate is going to go down! However, Sami still has one thing standing between her and Lucas, Stan. Many people have written in to say Sami should have a scar on her arm from when Lucas shot her. She should, and he should have seen it when she came over to take a shower in his place that one time, but maybe he didn't. I think when they have their reunion and make love that is when Lucas will see the scar and figure it all out.

I probably still would be or will go back to being if they just turn her character back around. The holier than now attitude makes me cringe. I still say it is shawns baby too. There was def some foreshadowing when lucas came over to the loft and was talking to phillip about how wonderful it will be and how this is the time he missed with sami because she claimed will was austins baby.

Glad to know that next week is when sami gets to confront kate. That may be the breaking point for her and roman too since roman has been defending kate to sami all this time. Sami should just claim to be under the control of demira for the whole stan plot. (ftr. I think the whole war/stan storyline sucked and i am glad it is over!)

As for Alex North/Roman - if he's not supposed to be Roman than I'm at a loss for how this comes together???... especially since they are showing old Marlena/Roman footage :confused: Do you think he knew her when Stefano held her captive for years and years? Maybe he works for the Dimeras and brainwashed her while she was gone - making her think she no longer loved the real Roman which is why she got together with John? But that doesn't seem like a big deal either. So confused... I think I'm going to hold out & believe that Alex North is the real Roman ;) Especially since Abe recognized his voice - I can't figure how Abe would have known Alex North outside of Salem (Abe doesn't go anywhere).

I really wish they wouldn't do this rapid aging thing (I thought it was funny that Belle mentioned being a flower girl because I think they rapid-aged her during John & Marlena's honeymoon. If I remember correctly, she went from like 5 to 16 within the space of a month). It throws things way off because it makes everyone a teen mother or worse. :rolleyes:

As for Marlena not treating the Sami and Belle the same. I think that Belle is such a sweet, gentle and kind person. Where Sami has a very strong and abrasive personality...demanding too. At this moment Marlena is in a delicate condition and seems to stand back from anything or anyone that is requiring anything from her. For example John practically had to beg for her to stay at his son's wedding, she didn't want to stay because she claimed she "didn't even know who he was." Sad, but Marlena has always been portrayed as a strong individual.....she will overcome it!
