I hope they don't recast the role. I've been really disappointed with bad recasts for that character. I think that when someone has been in a role THAT long, they shouldn't recast. But that's just MO.

She's moving to Nashville or something like that. She was fed up with the direction her character (or lack of direction) was going in.

Scott Reeves is HHHHOOOOTTTT!!!!!! I remember watching him on Y&R. I agree, it'd be weird to recast her. As well as Shawn (I'm hearing Jason Cook is leaving as well). I hate recasts of big characters - like Belle, if it was still Kirsten Storms playing her, I'd still be rooting for her, but I can't stand this Belle. Although I wish they'd stop making Mimi so damn annoying lately - I know she's carrying "the big secret," but really, does she have to "almost tell everyone" every day?

Looking forward to Sami getting busted. And Hope being PG...better not be stupid Patrick's.

Here are the latest GOING rumors:

While not a true "gone for ever" going, Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall (John and Marlena) have been given the summer off. Their reunion on June 5th is the last time they are expected to be seen on screen for 6 to 8 weeks, putting them back on sometime in late July or Early August. Again, they are only TEMPORARILY off our screens.

Melissa Reeves (Jen) is leaving the show when her contract expires this Summer. An article in The Tennessean indicates she and husband Scott Reeves have purchased a home outside of Nashville where they are moving to. Ashley Benson (Abby) made a post in her web forum indicating Melissa was in fact leaving. Teri let me know that she met Missy's husband Scott in Nashville (for the CMA FanFest) and he confirmed that Melissa would finish taping in August. Additionally, next week's Soap Opera Digest has an interview with Missy about her departure from the show. Be sure to pick up a copy when it hits news stands.

updated The New York Daily News is reporting that Jason Cook (Shawn Brady) will be leaving later the soap later this year. Farah Fath (Mimi) posted a message on her official board here stating it was possible that Jason was leaving, which sounds like his departure may not be an official done deal yet.

Where is Rex now, aside from doing shaving commercials? And Nicole? I don't know about this one... Eric was such a 'good' guy on the show, I don't think they would bring his character back as a bad guy.

At first sight (with Tek and Lexie at motel), I thought it was someone Tek hired (who? I'm not sure) so he could get rid of Abe and have Lexie to himself - so maybe the glove is really a 'puppet' for someone else? Maybe it is Bart and he's now working for Tek? or still working for Tony? I think Tony still hates everyone in Salem (including Lexie) doesn't he :confused:

More of what happened on Friday (in white): So we found out that the red head is Stephanie. Max and Stephanie go into the church and end up seeing Kayla there, with Patch right behind her. So Stephanie gets 'introduced' to her father, she can't believe it's him. They end up having a mini-reunion. As for Kate, she tries to get Lexie to tell everyone what Sami did, but she doesn't because she keeps thinking about the gloved person.... Also Belle and Phillip, Mimi and Shawn all get the call to go to the hospital b/c it's time to start the implantation. That's it! :)

I have this condition called vaso-vagal which causes me to pass out. I passed out a few times when I was pg, and the last thing I wanted to do was have sex afterwards, like Carrie & Lucas. I really wish I recovered that quickly from my episodes.

I'm having a hazy memory from back when I was in, oh, college, most likely, of them replacing her for awhile so she could go off and age. They brought in an older actress so her age shot up on the show, and when she came back she looked they age they wanted her to be. Am I crazy or did something like that happen?

Of course, she's a young-looking woman, so she probably has been the same age as her character all along, they just couldn't put her into older situations looking as young as she did!!!


Also, some months back when I found a birthday site, I noticed that they've been doing the sudden aging thing forever. Take a look at the year Hope was supposed to have been born in! If memory serves, her character was born in '72, which of course makes her just 34....:rolleyes:

I missed a big part of today's show too. My DVR f'ed up, got stuck at the part where E.J. is telling Sami that she needs to be honest with him about whether she blackmailed Lexie. I couldn't get it fixed, and the next thing I saw was Austin hovering over Carrie in the hallway while Sami ran into the apartment to get Lucas.

Sami admitted to blackmailing Lexi. She never said what she had Lexi do just that it would affect Lucas, Carrie and Austin. So EJ told her she should burn the letter.

Basically one of the millions of candles they had caught a curtain on fire. Austin was just going inside from getting his laptop. He saw the fire and ran upstairs to Lucas and Carrie's apt. He had to wake Lucas up. Austin picked Carrie up and brought her out of the apartment and right in front of Sami's. Lucas was right behind until he collapsed in the apt.

The fire alarm goes off. Sami says burning that letter didnt make it go off. Ej says he smells smoke. The open the door and see Austin with Carrie trying to revive her. Sami starts freaking out and asking where Lucas is. She runs to find him while EJ calls for an ambulance. He then goes in and helps Sami carry Lucas out. Sami try to revive Lucas. He comes to and starts saying her name. She says she loves him and Austin justs kind of looks at her.

Molyyeilis, I think you are talking about a time (I just looked up the year--it was in 1993!!!) when they let go the actress who had been playing Carrie for most of the character's life (Christie Clark) and replaced her with a slightly older actress, Tracy Middendorf. They said they did this so that she could play more mature stories, even though the age difference between the two actresses was only a couple of years. Anyway, Middendorf didn't click in the role and they quickly let her go, bringing back Christie Clark, who is still playing Carrie today (with some pretty long breaks over the years).

I read on Jason's Page (http://members.aol.com/jason47b/) that Phillip renewed his contract for the short term and (spoiler in white): that Jennifer & Jack are leaving the show in August (last air date in Sept.). The website said that they bought out Jack's contract so the 2 of them could leave the show/storyline together.

Then Shawn said "I love you" to Belle. All the while Mimi is standing off to the side but can hear everything. And as soon as the 3 little words are spoken, Belle turns around and there's Phillip laying on the gurney(sp?). I'm sure he heard it too.

Oui. From my Embryology class, pretty much two things cause positives on tests...baby (or recent baby), and a very specific kind of tumor.

All in all, though, the story lines are better, and bc of that, the acting seems to be improving.

Yes, a false positive is pretty much unheard of. But that is more palatable than "Stefano snuck in and switched her negative test with a positive" which is where they would have gone just a few short months ago.

The interim writer is trying to deal with the loose story lines the crack pot writer left over. She should have just had her loose the pregnancy, though. And yes, they should have done an ultrasound while she was in the hospital, and the Days writer should know that any woman would know that.

Well now, if there WERE that extensive amount of scarring, from an appendectomy impacting the uterus and/or ovaries so much, it might very well obscure any good images of inside. I know from my ICAN boards that if it's huge scarring you CAN see it with ultrasound, so...gosh maybe there IS something to it after all!

And maybe they'll give her a tumor.

But really, I bet it's just b/c Lexie was so distracted that she didnt' even look at the monitor when Carrie was in after the emergency...:rolleyes:


I won't say General Hospital is much better than Days, but at least there are a FEW more doctors than just Lexie. :p

Don't remember the exact facts of it but Kristen DiMera was trying to keep John Black around and got pregnant, then I think she lost it, but never told people and kept pretending she was pg, then found someone who looked just like her who was pg to go to the dr's appts and everything and then took her baby... Since my DH and DS are both sleeping, I am being lame and reading Austin Peck's (Austin's) blog. Thought you all would like to know that the cast doesn't know who the hand is either:

Long week at the office. Some deep moments between Austin and Carrie on the roof. I hope the audience will like them, we had fun doing it. Man! There have been a lot of weddings. Shooting these can be long and tedious. Today we had Bryan and Kyle on set and together they helped with the time, too funny. I had just two lines so I was drawing jedi's on the back of my script. Yes! I am a nerd. It's either that or read. Yesterday we had scene's in Sami's apartment. Is Sami going to be ousted by Lexie? Oooh! I can't tell. We were talking about the show and this mysterious hand you will all see soon. Who is it? We don't know, so the movie The Hand with Michael Caine came up and how funny it would be and not scary, if a hand was following you around trying to kill you. You could just step on it. "Hey man, look it's a hand. What the hell is it doing"? "I don't know man, hey, it's trying to grab me"! "Well shit dude, kick it!". So anyway, Were in this intense moment. Sami's looking at me, I'm looking at her. Intense! All the sudden I feel these fingers walking up and down my back. Mr. Datillo was standing behind me, curses! Totally caught me off guard. I lost it but did my best to keep it together. I had to hide my face behind Christopher's (Will"s) head. Ali looks at me like, "Thanks a lot man"! Not knowing of course what Bryan did. You had to be there. So that's insight into the daily life and times of the actors on the set of DAYS OF OUR LIVES.

Belle was definitely not kissing Shawn out of relief, but that kiss that Mimi saw, was started by Shawn. I don't see her reading him the same kind of riot act. Afterall, she just saw her husband cheat on her.....I'd be more angry at him. Plus, like you said, Mimi has been lying the whole time. She doesn't really deserve Shawn at all.
