I want the baby to be Shawn's :o What can I say... I'm a hopeless romantic :o

I don't want Austin to be with Sami... been there done that... I hated that storyline. He can be with anyone else, just not Sami. To be honest, I was excited for Austin to come back but now that he's here, it's all coming back to me - I didn't like him before and I don't like him again :eek: He's so~o - the only term that comes to mind is... vanilla (boring).

Sami and Lucas belong together. (yet again the hopeless romantic emerges! ;) )

I really want Belle's baby to be Phillips... I think Shawn needs to move on. I' mean come on this is a soap opera, they have pleanty years ahead of them to play the yo-yo game of getting together and falling apart! :p

very true kristine80. Eventually they will need a storyline though which is probably why they are leaving it open. Shawn is seeming kind of desperate these days and it is annoying - like Brady for chloe. I was ready for his character to vanish. Shawn and mimi just need to get it on :D They will be married by Christmas. ha ha.

What the heck is bonnie going to do with the food? Serve it at her bar? She seemed way too pleased that the shelter couldn't take it. That's just weird.

I agree! I have never really liked Austin, but I liked him a lot better with Carrie than with Sami.

Can Mimi get together with Austin? They aren't related in any weird way are they? I don't like the Mimi/Shawn coupling and I'd like to see her with someone else.

I used to watch DOOL pretty much every day for years. I stopped watching it in the past year or so. It just didn't seem as good as it used to be. Anyway, it's on right now and I saw Mimi go into the hospital room with Shawn to congratulate Belle and Philip. Why did Mimi act so awkward around Belle? What did I miss?

ETA: And how is Philip walking again?

Mimi blames Belle for her break-up with Rex. Mimi had been hiding an abortion from him, and Belle was all self-righteous about it.

Philip got a prosthetic leg last week. Apparently, he adjusts quickly. :rolleyes:

Thank goodness--Lucas finally got a haircut!!!! Although, it is supposed to still be the wedding day (who is caring for Will by the way? he must be devestated), so who know when he had time. Maybe Lucas had that whole have a big break-up, cut off your hair catharsis that a lot of women have ;)

I've always like Nicole for some reason, she cracks me up, it'd be nice if she could come around, stop getting into messes and creating mischief and be normal. (did I just say normal in a sentence where I was talking about DAYS? hm...)

I think Mimi and Austin would be weird, he's way older than her. I don't want a Mimi/Shawn thing either tho...I like the idea of Shawn and Belle, but Shawn's starting to bug me too much...

ETA- but I don't want to see Phillip hurt, what a good, decent, caring guy. He'd make such a great husband/father. A little boring sometimes maybe, but a great guy. (yes, I know he's not a real person...well kinda.. :) )

Don't think this has been reported yet.... Carrie (Christie Clark) is returning to DAYS! :)

I read it in the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, and she confirmed it on her official website (http://www.christieclark.co.za/):Well...I'm thrilled to report that I will be heading home to Salem! I start taping in early Nov. Just yesterday I spoke with Austin Peck...we are so excited to portray Austin and Carrie again. I think the audience will love the new grown up characters. It's been a long time coming....and I'm pleased as punch. Thanks to everyone for their support!

Hi all. I've recently gotten back in to DOOL. I've watched forever, but missed the past year.
Question: Did Belle and Sean sleep together while Phillip was away?? When Belle found out she was pg, She looked at Sean and said.."It's Phillips." Wasn't sure why she said that.

I guess I'm an odd man out b/c I don't like Sean and Mimi. I think it's gross. I think Mimi is being pathetic.

The whole Alex, Marlena, John thing is driving me crazy. I want to know how they are going to work it out b/c Wayne Northrop is the original Roman. I actually remember when the current Roman was on the show playing a character named Chris....that was like 20 years ago! I used to watch with my mom when I was kid! hehe!

New to the thread, but long time dool watcher.

I don't like Mimi & Shawn together at all. They just don't seem to work for me.

I am definitely thinking Claire will have some "rare" blood disorder or some other life threatening disease and need a transfusion or something and it will come out that Shawn is the father.

I'm so thrilled that Carrie is coming back. The whole reason I got started watching DOOL was when she and austin first met and then the whole Sami/Austin/Carrie triangle got started.

Been catching up on my TIVO shows these past few days...

OMG Jen is breaking my heart :( I feel so~o bad for her since finding out about Jack.

I have to join in the club of mimi and shawn likers. I didn't think I would like them b/c I had always been a shawn=belle fan but I think part of what makes it easier is the new actress and the direction her character has gone. I think its cute that shawn and mimi are getting together-they have been friends just as long as he and belle and suppossedly belle and philip were always such good friends but we didn't see how close-with shawn and mimi-at least we have seen their friendship grow over the years.

i do think it could be shawns baby though. Belle and shawn had one night when he was out drinking where they went back to his place and bo and hope found them "sleeping" on his bed. Before they went back to his apt they were kissing and stuff but we never really saw them together and neither of them said anything so there is always a POSSIBILITY....but of course with DOOL there is ALWAYS a possibility...

I love jack and jen so I don't want jack to go-maybe her dad/mike will have some miraculous cure that carrie brings from africa for him...

I like Mimi and Shawn. I think that Belle & Shawn are like a younger version of Bo & Hope/John & Marlena and will eventually end up together, so for now I'm letting myself enjoy Mimi and Shawn.

Has anyone heard if Jack is really leaving the show, or is this just another "death" where he'll come back in a few months?

I was laughing the whole time. It was crazy! It was months before I began thinking about sex. So stupid!

Marlena and North weren't on Friday but on Thursday I had a big ? in my mind... I started to think Marlena was not under North's spell b/c after he supposedly erased her memory of John, she took the clock to her room and locked the door but then she seemed a little too weird about the photos (of their love story) and her *love* relationship with North but not as if she was under a spell (more like curiosity) - when she asked, he said he would fill her in - in time. She said - Oh, Ok. :rolleyes: So, yet again, I haven't a clue what's really going on - all speculation - but I think she's more under John's spell then North's.

And yes, it looks like Austin is going to live with Sami - although I don't think he made it definite. Austin's so annoying.

I think he knows something about Carrie coming back to town... He seems a little too coy with those statements (+ he seems to reference it everyday). I think he must have a bigger plan in mind then what he's divulging now. My guess is: Maybe he has been keeping in touch with Carrie all along and knows she will be joining him in Salem soon.

Daily Update for
Nov. 2, 2005

Nicole catches Sami daydreaming instead of working and the two of them argue. Austin breaks it up. He says that if they can’t work together, he’ll fire them both. As Nicole eavesdrops, Sami starts to badmouth her, but Austin defends her. Sami admits that she was feeling down. She tells Austin she was thinking of Lucas and how he told her that he loves her. Austin doesn’t believe her. Sami decides to go see Lucas.

Austin and Nicole bond and she intuits that Austin’s come home to Salem for an old love. Intrigued Nicole wants to talk to him about this. Although he doesn’t say it, Nicole thinks it’s her that he’s talking about. Of course Austin dodges the question and invites her to dinner.

Sami finds Lucas comforting Will. It seems his friends dressed up as Sami’s alter-ego “Stan” for Halloween. Horrified Sami can’t believe this. She appeals to Lucas for a reconciliation, but he stands firm. Sami gives Lucas a kiss to remember.

Shawn and uncomfortable Mimi take care of baby Claire. Mimi confides in Shawn her fear of handling the baby. Shawn offers to get her help to talk about her abortion as well as her inability to have kids. Mimi appreciates it. Shawn takes a shower and leaves Mimi alone with the baby, who begins to cry. Mimi freaks. Shawn swoops in to save the day, but Mimi ends up passing out.

Philip attempts to take care of his wife during her postpartum depression. He catches her about to take more of her medication and is afraid of what might happen if she took too many. He draws Belle a bath and she says some pretty revealing things to an image of Shawn then dissolves into tears in Philip’s arms. It’s unclear whether it was Shawn’s image or the real Philip who heard her confessions.

Sami and Lucas kissing was a little more heated then the recap states - they were shouting (with Will in the background eaves dropping) - she was saying how he still loves her and she loves him and that they should try it again - he was saying "NO" then she basically shut him up with a BIG juicy (long) kiss... I couldn't tell if he was kissing her back (guess I find out today?).

Yesterday.....which I am guessing is today's show for you today.....
When you watched yesterday, did a priest come to visit Marlena? That was what I saw yesterday, but as for the NBC recap, that didnt happen at all.

Kate needs a life - NOW. Maybe then she'll leave her poor children alone.

Mimi & Shawn...I like them, though it won't last. Belle and Shawn are clearly set to be this generations Bo & Hope, John & Marlena, etc.

I don't think that Claire is Carrie's niece. Carrie's parents are Roman and Anna DiMera. Belle's parents are Marlena and John Black. So Carrie and Belle are not blood-related. Sammi is a half-sister to both of them, of course.

For those of you similarly intrigued by Kate's black nail, I did some internet digging. I haven't been able to find an explanation for it, but it has been discussed on other sites. Apparently, she has been sporting this black nail for months.

The only answer I could find was that Lauren Koslow (the actress who plays Kate) is a really big David Bowie fan, and she wears the one finger nail polish as a tribute to Ziggy Stardust. Personally, I wasn't aware that Ziggy Stardust wore nail polish on one finger only.

Other sites were just full of speculation, most falling into three categories--
1.) It is a symbol of some sort/tribute/political statement; 2.) she is being really '80s; 3.) she smashed her finger in a car door. I don't think it is option three (she would have painted all of her other nails too!), and the Bowie tribute sounds closest to the truth.

For those of us that love rumors, this ones interesting...
With the on screen presence of Zack and mentions of JT a lot lately, the rumors are cranking out and people are speculating something bad is going to happen.

Rumor One: Zack will be killed in a car accident with Chelsea behind the wheel (recall that Hope just told Bo never to allow Chelsea to drive Zack anywhere).

Rumor Two: Something will happen with JT causing his death, or something will happen to Barb and Glen (People find it far too odd that JT is being mentioned a lot lately).

Related Third Rumor: Either JT or Zack's organs will go to save baby Claire's life.

Oh my goodness, I can barely watch this today. After reading the posts of the "rumors" and hearing that it seems to be true that Zack may die....when Bo and Hope just said goodbye to him when leaving him with the sitter I started bawling thinking that it might be the last time they see him alive. I know it is just a show...but I get so emotional. Especially now having a baby of my own. The whole scenario with Claire is really upsetting me. I hate to see where all of this is going...

what drives me nuts is the whole way that Bo's character was written this week though. Would the Bo we all know and love be such a sucker for a lame a** argument "I just want to make you proud of me and show you that I deserve to be a Brady" Puhhhlease! I can't believe that he would let her drive! And on New Year's Eve no less. A very good example of plot driving character. But my goodness, did you all see Hope's face on the previews on Friday? #2, if Claire is really dying, why on earth isn't anyone at Sami's party concerned about their sibling's child? I believe that they are ALL related to either Belle or Philip either via blood or marriage somewhere.
#3, Since when did John get the authority to put someone who is in the Salem lockup under "Maximum Security"? Is he a cop with them again and I missed it?

I'm sure there are other questions, but I'm too frustrated to think of them at the moment. I just wish that they'd move some stories along faster.

And as for number three, I was yelling at the TV about that one. Last I checked, John was not on the Salem PD. I was also yelling at them at the fact that if he really did need to be in maximum security, they should have had more then one cop there when they moved him! Duh...

I'm agreeing with everyone else here - in fact, I haven't posted in so long b/c I can't quite put all of my thoughts into 1 cohesive RANT! Every storyline is driving me crazy! But I was really thrown over the edge when Shawn proposed to Mimi! :mad: :eek: :mad: :eek:

The only amusing moments I've had watching these past couple of weeks are Nicole and her drunken wonderness (I absolutely love her when she's drunk with Sami around) & ever since someone on these boards mentioned John and his "Joey Tribiani techniques of smelling farts" I notice him doing it every day he's on the show - it absolutely cracks me up!!! :o

Otherwise, I'm not too impressed...

I haven't read any spoilers but I sincerely hope that Hope beats the Sh!t out of Bo when she finds out that he let Chelsea drive - what an idiot! I hope that Victor also grows a spine and tells Phillip the truth. I hope that the entire Sami/Carrie/Austin storyline goes away. & I hope that the lady kills Marlena with the scissors while John kills Alex on the balcony :p

I know it is a Soap but the Zack story line is making me sick - I just can't really deal with them killing a toddler (well - who knows how old he is!) - and I agree with one of the pp that it is probably b/c I have a baby but even though it will save Claire it is alittle sick to me. I am a wreck everytime they mention taking Claire off life support. The whole show is out of control right now.

I also couldn't believe that there was no one at service for Jack. Am I remembering wrong or didn't they show him a few days ago in the woods?? So he is alive right???

And of course - I can't stop watching....

Which also begs the question about why there's a shortage of ambulances in Salem. Hope had to take her own critically injured son to the hospital? Wasn't there also a lack of police assistance when Jack's car went off the bridge? I think that they should raise their taxes and get some more public workers... doctors, ambulances, paramedics. etc. I mean, there MUST be a shortage if there's only one cop to transfer a prisoner to maximum security! :D

I also understand that this is a soap and in real life they wouldn't let a doctor so close to the family operate on a patient but god that must of been the hardest thing ever to come to your best friend and tell her that there is no hope for her son. Kudos though to Grandma Horton, Doug, Julie and especially Hope (Kristian Alfonso). At least some of these people have enough acting skill to overcome the horrific dialogue. Hope gave me chills. (And I do appreciate the circular plot---Hope's mom was killed when she was hit by a truck. She saved Hope by pushing her out of the way. Having Zack suffer a similar fate as her mom is a nice bit of soap story telling.)

Yeah, while all the signs point to the idea that Chelsea hit Zack, I think that it would be better if she didn't. I don't really like her character all that much, but that storyline would get REALLY old REALLY quick (I can see it now, Hope is never able to forgive Chelsea, Bo is really hurt but is more understanding, tension is created between Hope and Bo, Billie comes out the big winner).

By the way, WHERE is Billie? I don't think that she's made ANY appearances at the hospital to see Claire and she didn't show up at Jack's "funeral".

Though it IS fun to go to official DOOL websites and find the character bios including birth dates, and see that Shawn should be, what, 20? And Philip would be 10 or 11, and Belle would be 12ish...

But then that's nothing new; I was reading somewhere that Hope's birth date put her at just barely 18ish when she was on, married to Bo and all in the 80s. So they've jumped ages before. :)

I found an article in USA Today (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/olympics/torino/television-schedule.htm) that gives the Olympic schedule on all of NBC's channels... There is only 1 event that overlaps Days in my time zone. But I'm not getting my hopes up that they won't take Days off the air for the entire 2 weeks. :rolleyes: I hope, if anything, they simply preempt the show and air it at 3 in the morning or something - in this case I can still TIVO or watch the show on Soapnet at 6pm :)

Honestly, DOOL has some of the worst writing ever. But I have watched it for so long (with gaps of years in between) that I can't imagine watching any other soap. Even though it is painful, I can't look away.

Get used to it. He's been making those faces since he was first on the show (having been brainwashed to think that HE was Roman Brady, getting back into Marlena's life, then ages later they found out he was John Black, and then the real Roman came back (who wasn't even the original actor who played Roman, but I'll let others mention that if they care to) and Marlena had to choose...she's had to choose FAR too many times).

Anyway, those faces were brooding and moody back when he was young and unwrinkled, but now it's just getting icky. But I doubt he knows another way to convey emotion...reminds me of Friends when Joey is teaching the soap opera acting class....:p

Sami and Austin haven't slept together but I'm sure that's coming too. ITA with everyone about not wanting to relive the same storyline from 10 years ago again. I wish the writers would get a clue about what the viewers want to see ;)

I'm still rooting for Sami and Lucas - I love those two together.

ugh! I CANNOT stand Chelsea! I know this is just soap opera land but she just infuriates me to no end. She is so darn manipulative and everyone just falls for her "whoa is me, I'm gonna go to jail for the rest of my life so forget about your own morals and do what you can to help me" crap. I cannot believe Billie hopped into bed w/ Bo. grrr...stupid.

Add me to the list of Chelsea-haters. :mad: I'm finding myself FFwding through most of her scenes... she's predictable and painful to watch.

Count me in on the Chelsea hater club. I can't believe Billie did what she did on today's episode....she actually did what her manipulative daughter told her to do! I don't care for Billie because she always has a "poor me" attitude and expects everyone to feel sorry for her no matter the situation.

I feel so bad for Hope....I think she should dump Bo. I love them together, but how much more does she have to take???

And the whole Marlena, JB, and Alex North triangle is getting extremely old. I find myself getting up and doing stuff around the house when their scene comes up.

What does everyone think of the Shawn and Mimi situation? Do you think she will go through with the wedding, or is her mother going to spill the beans??

Do you think she will go through with the wedding, or is her mother going to spill the beans?? well I would hope mimi learned her lesson with Rex and come clean with Shawn but I ultimately think Bonnie will "slip" as she so often seems too. I love Belle and Shawn together and I'm hoping all this Kate crap is done with soon. Kate needs to get a life and a hint that her kids are adults and dont need "mommy" running thier lives. Ugh

I thought Mimi would've spoken up by now considering what happened w/ Rex. Clearly she did not learn her lesson and she is allowing Bonnie to convince her to keep quiet. I also think Bonnie will slip up and spill the beans. Her near slip up today (comment to Belle saying "no offense but your baby looks just like her daddy"), I thought, was a hint that it would prob. happen again.

I can't stand Kate either. She really needs to butt out of everyone's business. I am now annoyed w/ Billie. I was glad she kinda started laying into Chelsea about what kind of person she was wanting to split Bo and Hope up, she doesn't know anything about love, blah blah blah. But then she had to go and say that she'd do anything to keep Chelsea out of jail and well, that was the end of it for me.

With these annoying story lines, it's no wonder they didn't get nominated for any daytime emmies. I just wonder how much longer this soap can keep going... :(

Did Billie used to be played by Lisa Rinna? Seems to me I remember LR's massive lips in the role...

I want someone to talk some sense into EVERYONE. The "I'll go to jail forEVER" thing is driving me mad.

She thought she hit something. She did, eventually, stop. Didn't see anything. Called her dad and someone called a mechanic.

Since no one knew that anything or anyone had been hit, she went home.

It was only later that anyone realized what had happened...and that's when everyone started doing stupid things that could get her sent to jail for a long time. *

*not a lawyer, just pretend I am one while typing online. ;)
