Has anyone been to Disneyland Paris? Would you recommend it?

I have been researching it. We tried to go when we went to Paris back in 2001 but at the time the train employees were on strike so we couldn't get there. I would love to go there!

I went in 1998 and had a really good time. I've never been to any other Disney resort, though, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I've been to Disneyland Paris twice, on Christmas in 2000 and New Year's Day of this year. I recommend it as it makes for interesting comparisons to Disney parks in the U.S. - plus I love Disneyland!!! It's interesting because the way they have brought the different lands to life is a bit different than at the original Disneyland. And, overall, the rides are more intense - Space Mountain has a loop! There is also a Disneyland Main Street outside the park with additional shopping, dining, etc. that was a lot of fun to visit.

Both times I was staying in central Paris and took the train, it's an easy, convenient ride and the train lets out directly in front of the park.

I think it's a fun way to spend a day...but the main reason I went both times was because it was a major holiday and I knew not much else in Paris would be open :D.

I spent a day at Dinseyland Paris when I was living in Germany for my semester abroad in college. It was a lot of fun- and a nice touch of "home" while I was away:) The rides were a little more intense, like daener mentioned. The park was easily accesible from the city using the train. We did not stay at the resort- we were poor college students!

DH used to live in Paris and had a season pass... we went together on July 4, 2004. We had a blast!

The place is super clean, and defenitely "feels" like Disney, but isn't actually run by Disney. The French have taken it over, and DH says he likes it better now. The shows are pretty cool - I actually enjoyed a couple of them better than the ones at DisneyWorld.

The lack of fast food/eating on the go is the one thing that bothered me - they don't eat standing up. Even the little diner's that are only supposed to take 20 minutes take closer to 45 minutes to eat there.

AND, all the mustard has horseradish in it.

Oh yeah - we stayed in Paris and took the train in - much more convenient, as you can do the entire park in one day. There are technically 2 parks, but you can do a day park-hopper pass between them.

I don't want to argue, but I wanted to point out that it makes sense that there are not as many rides. The Europeans just aren't into rides and stuff like we are. At least, the ones that I have met. I thought it was a nice blend of the ideas of what a Disney park should be.

That being said... in my own selfish way I was a little upset that an "American" park didn't even celebrate Juy 4th. :o

I went a couple of years ago when I was on an extended biz trip to Paris (before they opened the 2nd park). I took the train from the city (super easy) and went by myself, in the winter. I would have probably had a much better time if I had been with others and it was warmer! That said, it was enjoyable to me largely because I have been to and could compare it to the Orlando, California and Toyko parks. It was neat to see some of the "standard" attractions implemented with newer technology. It was also interesting that the rides were in a variety of languages, not just French. However, I will say I didn't understand any of the ride or show narration and I missed that. If you have an extra day in Paris, and an interest in Disney, I would go for it. If not, I really think Paris is such an extraordinary city that I would see other attractions.
