Happy New Year!!!

Chris~n~Jen that is too funny!

Pacificbliss Welcome!!

I am on cd9 and this is when Dh and I would normally be using condoms since I usually O right around cd14 (but as early as cd12 and late as cd17). Oddly, DH was ready before I was so When I agreed to stop charting and just see what happens, I have to admit I found the idea still kind of scarry, but the closer I get to O the more and more excited I am getting :D I literally can not wait to O and see what happens! I can only imagine how long the 2ww is going to feel like.

I know they say drink till you see pink (in moderation), but is the same true for hot tubs? We have one and DH and I are in it probably 3-4 nights a week before bed. Its outside and sooo nice when its really cold out, even better when its snowing :)

I know all teh books I've read say to stay out of Hot Tubs for your DH. The extreme heat will decrease his sperm count.

Hi! Checking in! Welcome, Mrs. Kinnison...I hope you don't have to stay here long! It's so exciting to be starting such a major thing!

I am sorry to see you here again pacificbliss, but I know you are ready to move forward! I hope it happens quickly!

As for me, I am on CD 26 and have had clockwork 26 day cycles since going off of BC in August. I am grouchy, have acne, and my boobs hurt...all normal PMS symptoms for me so I am not too optimistic! I guess I will know tomorrow. My body has been running so normally that I have never even taken a test!

pacificbliss ~ Yay, a cycle buddy! It's been horrible today. First I have a horrible headache from last night and then these cramps! Ugh! :(
zhannushka ~ I hope this is your month also!
MrsKinninson ~ I know, for some reason I keep thinking I'm older than I am. I really have to stop and think about it. Weird! It's good that you know your body so well already. I've heard the same thing about the hot tubs not being good for the guys.
Jess71903 ~ Sorry, it does sound like AF is on her way. Looks like we may also be cycle buddies. My cycles are usually 24-26 days.

Happy New Year Everybody! :)

Hi ladies, just checking in.

CD 25 for me. I'm actually not too nervous. If AF shows, she shows, if she doesn't... (actually that's what I'm more nervous about! )

Hope everyone had a happy new year.

Sounds like a lot of you are starting new cycles with the new year. I am happy to hear so many DHs are toasting to babies in 2006.

I am on CD 25 today. I think that I O'ed sometime last week and we covered ourselves really well so now all I have to do is wait. I probably won't test until around January 15th if AF hasn't showed by then. I hope this is the year of the baby for all of us!:D

CD5 for me. Things were looking good up until late last week, then AF arrived with full force. Grr.

We're still a week away from the fun part, since O has been around CD 18-20 for me the last three cycles. Maybe not having so much stress will be helpful this month!

I also am halfway into the charting thing, too, but I want to stick around and see you all get your BFPs!!

Chris~n~Jen
01-03-2006, 07:08 AM
I'm trying to figure out about when I O. This is cycle 3 for me. My average cycle is 25 days, AF usually visits for about 2 days. I'm not sure if I should be happy that it is so short or if that means my lining is not very good (thick). Due to CM last month I think I O'd on CD10. Last months cycle was 24 days. Does that seem to early or about right?

batgirl
01-03-2006, 07:15 AM
I am feeling major guilt right now...

Today is cycle day 26 and my cycles are usually 26-28 days long. No sign of AF (and I usually start to have some cramps around this time of the month). And today I am actually feeling barfy and bloated (I never feel barfy or bloated for AF).

So, the reason I feel guilty... I have been drinking wine during the holiday festivities.... I had 2 glasses of red wine on Friday night, 1.5 glasses new years eve, and 1.5 glasses last night (it was my mom's b-day and we took her to an italian restaurant).... I know this sounds stupid and reckless, but I really didn't think I could be pregnant, since I have made DH use a condom most of my fertile cycle. All but cycle day 13! Dh kept saying "come on, let's do it!" (meaning pull the goalie)

We/I had been hoping for an "oops" because I was getting way too stressed out with the TTC thing. But now I'm thinking that this was a reckless way to do it... Does anyone know how bad wine is during your first month? Could I have done any harm if I'm actually pg?

Boy, one thing is for sure. I am not drinking anymore wine during any future 2wws...

Thanks for listening to me ladies. And please don't call me a bad future mom (since that is kind of how I'm feeling and don't think I could handle it...)

Chris~n~Jen
01-03-2006, 07:29 AM
Batgirl~ Don't feel so guilty. There is a small thread on the pregnancy board regarding this same issue. You might want to check it out. I don't think that having a few glasses of wine is really going to do much damage. Your not a bad mommy at all.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this is it for you! :D

batgirl
01-03-2006, 07:40 AM
Thanks so much, Jen

I read the thread you suggested and feel much better. Someone mentioned that the placenta doesn't fully form until 17dpo (and I'm within that).

This is why I began hoping for an oops. I am pretty neurotic normally and throw TTC into the pot, and well, I become even more neurotic!

I may actually purchase my first pregnancy test today (gulp!) If no sign of AF by tomorrow morning I'll take it...

Happy New Year Girls!

CD 10 for us...just getting to the fun part! :)

batgirl I second what Chris n Jen stated. Don't feel guilty your are not a bad mommy. My SIL was a couple drinks before she found out she was pregnant. My nephew will be 4 in April and is perfect!

Good luck to everyone this month! :)

Hi. I used to be in this thread long ago(oh..like when CC first cam to be:D ). I wasn't very good at keeping up but I want to join again since we are trying again. Here are my stats...
Me: Annie(22)
DH: Adam (22..23 this month)
Married: 08/15/04
Last BCP: ????
TTC since: off and on since Jan 05
MC: June 05 at 10 weeks by D&C

I am on CD 24. My cycles was insane last month. 45 days long. Normally it is 30 so we will see how this one goes. So far no pre-period signs so I have a feeling I am in for another long one.

MrsKinnison
01-03-2006, 08:40 AM
Chris~N~Jen Your LP should be 12-16 days, so if you subtract that from 25 you "should" be O'ing between CD9 and CD13. There is always the chance that your LP is shorter, but you can lengthen that with vitamins....I cant remember specifically which ones (maybe magnesium??), but I'll find out if you want me to? Also, it could be coincedence, but my LP was longer last month (my last month of charting to avoid) when I started taking a mulit-vitamin. I won't know for sure if that was the cause since I won't be charting anymore:D

batgirl Stop feeling guilty!!! I called to talk to my Dr last month and she said just not to drink excessively while TTC, but moderation is fine until I am PG. I would say that you definately fit the moderation category! Lots and lots of baby dust to you!!!

allieannie Welcome, I hope your stay with us is short!! Baby dust to you too!!

Hi ladies,

Happy New Year!! I just got in from beautiful sunny and warm FL to a cold rainy day in NJ.

AF decided to show up on the last day at Disney, it was ok timing though since we were heading out to Cocoa area.

Well gotta get things unpacked now.

MrsKinnison ~ Thanks for the info. That means I was probaly correct when thinking I O'd on CD10. Thats good to know. Is there any reason why I would want my LP to be longer? Is it better to have a longer LP?

jnshanna

Happy New Year everyone!! :)

Welcome back, pacificbliss. I hope you get a VERY sticky BFP soon. :)

Zhanna ~ I hope your DH is right about this being your month!

So Jessica? Did you get to test? Or did the wicked witch show? I have my fingers crossed that those PMS symptoms are really pg symptoms.

Yay to a new cycle Natasha! I hope that provera works for you soon so you can get a fresh start.

Bubeleh ~ I hope 3rd time really is a charm for you!

looty ~ Congrats on Oing and covering your bases! I hope it results in a BFP!

Oh batgirl! You're not a bad mommy in the least! I had read that thread that Jen mentioned too and you should be just fine. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Welcome alliannie!

Jen ~ A long LP is great from what I've read. It gives the little one more time to implant. :)

Today is CD7 for me. Getting ready for the BDing! :D

Welcome Annie! Great to See you here!!! :)

MrsKinnison
01-03-2006, 01:15 PM
Chris~n~Jen According to TCOYF, "in order for implantation to successfully occur, it is believed that a women should have a postovulatory phase of at least 10 days." So, you don't neccessarily need a longer LP, you just need it to be at least 10 days. If you think you O'd on CD10 then I'd say you're probably all set there. HTH!

Welcome back Annie! I hope you don't have to stick around too long but that you keep up better this time!

Jessie did you get to test? You have to come back and update us!

Welcome back Ericka. I was wondering yesterday when you were going to be getting home. Wasn't FL so nice?

I agree with everyone else Jen. I think you shoudl be fine. I don't drink a ton anyway but I try not to during the 2ww. I couldn't resist on New Years Even though.:o I think you'll be fine!

Hi girls! Things have been busy around here! I am TERRIBLE at SOs so I won't even try. Thank you all for your concern about me! It is nice to stop by and see that someone asked about you! As an update, I am now on CD28 and still going apparently. Like I said before, I have had clockwork 26 day cycles, and usually start late on CD 27 (which then becomes CD 1), so I guess I am one day late. I haven't tested yet...trying to hold off for fear holiday stress has just delayed AF. PMS symptoms have gone away. Not so much as a little cramp today.
I asked DH today that assuming I don't start in the morning, when should I test? You wanna know what he said??? He said I should wait "at least a week!" I laughed at him. Anyway, I may test in the morning, again, assuming AF doesn't show. I do have a question though... I have 1 test from a pack of 2 (a silly friend gave it to me). I have the general directions but not the insert. If I wanted to PIAC instead of POAS, how long do I hold it in the cup?

maplekitty
01-03-2006, 05:46 PM
If I wanted to PIAC instead of POAS, how long do I hold it in the cup?

umm...until the stick turns another colour (either pink or blue or purple, depending on the brand). Also keep the stick pointing down while your dipping in the cup for I think my test said 2 mins.

Jess71903
01-03-2006, 06:35 PM
ok, thanks, maplekitty. so, the whole stick will turn a different color? I have never taken one before, so I don't know anything :). I think the regular directions said to keep it in the stream of pee for at least 10 sec, but I think I remember reading a thread that said you have to put it in the cup for longer or shorter if you dip- I guess I should search for it. I think I remember something about oversaturation so I don't want to do that!

ETA: I have the Equate purple cap test, if that makes a difference.

kmmommy
01-03-2006, 07:04 PM
Jess ~ I got my BFPs both time with the Equate and I'm always paranoid I won't get it right if I POAS. So I always PIAC and hold it down for 20-30 seconds. The box says to hold in a stream of urine for at least 10 seconds so I just added a little time to that in the cup to make sure it soaked up enough. Good luck tomorrow!

Morning everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks again for all the support. I'm feeling a bit less anxious, but still pretty anxious. Boy, does anyone else think all day long how they can't wait to get pregnant, then wake up at say 3am and can't fall back to sleep because they keep worrying that they actually succeeded! God, I hope I can make it through the ttc journey without being committed!

Just wanted to welcome back Ericka. I hope you had a wonderful time.

And Jess Good luck testing today!!! My fingers (and toes) are crossed for you.

I am trying to hold off testing til tomorrow. My cycles are usually 26 days and today is cd27. I thought I had more will power than I actually do, and might test today! So weak, so weak...

Nothing new to report here. CD4 for me. AF was super short this time. Barely even 2 days. Tomorrow night I am going shopping and plan on buying TCOYF! I used to think it was great that my cycles are so short but now I'm nervous that it's not such a good thing.

Just waiting and gearing up for some big time BDing! ;)

Jen,

Have you told your doctor about TTC and asked about your cycles?

It's funny when I go to my doctor now because when I started going there, I wasn't having a period by 3-4 times a year, after my 1st appt, I got my period every month and was ovulating each month. I was not sure how long my cycles officially were when I went in February 2005 (was a pregnancy appt) I guessed they were about 30 days long and I only charted slightly in Sept-Oct of 2004. I did find out exactly when I was due to O and that ended up being the exact day that I conceived my daughter. My doctor now said my cycles were irregular because I run from 32-38 days (only 1 time was 38 days, I'm usually 32-33 days long) So I just don't know, may go back to my original doctor and see what she says instead. I am still slightly charting, I keep it to track somethings for the doctor, but don't totally rely on it.

Me - Thanks for the welcome backs ladies, I appreciate them. Now that the wisdom teeth are healing up and I don't need meds anymore, I am going to try for our 2nd child again. I am suppose to start a new job next Monday, but I am not going to stress about it and just stay calm about the job and of course going to try and relax with TTC. I would love to be pregnant again before my appt in February.

Hope we all graduate from this thread this year. Here's to lots of BFP's.

Good luck to Batgirl too! I hope you get to start the new year off wonderfully!

Sounds like a lot of ladies are just having Af leave or are getting ready to bd. I wish you all a bunch of luck! Here's to EWCM and good timing!;)

I am on CD 26 today. I am thinking that I shoudl wait to test until around the 15th because I am not exactly sure when I O'ed. If AF hasn't showed by then there should be a good chance I am pg! We definitely covered our bases so I hope this is it for us!

Well, girls. I hate to be the downer, but AF showed up RIGHT before I got in bed last night. I am SO bummed. I just knew I would get to test since all of my previous cycles had been so consistent. I have started to over-analyze everything...like, what if, when I prop my hips up after BDing I am propping too much and things can't get where they are supposed to go... or what if that hot bath I took the other night made it not implant or something. What if this stupid computer in my lap is frying my ovaries, or for that matter, what if the few times I went to the tanning bed back in HS did it? I wonder if I should tell DH to switch from boxer briefs to boxers. UH! Why does this have to be so hard??? And I have always said that TTC shouldn't be so medical and you should relax and just let things happen...I obviously have trouble practicing what I preach. I may have to think about charting next cycle. I really don't want to, but I guess if I am afraid I am not Oing, it would be good to be armed with some evidence.
Anyway, good luck to you, batgirl! I hope your lateness is a sign! I am going to go wallow in self-pitty for a while and then get back on the TTC train!
Thank you all for your concern! You girls are great!

Oh Jess, I'm so sorry. I t is crazy how we start over-analysing everything we do. We spend so many years hoping an praying for AF to show up because of one missed pill, or a late taken pill, and now we see how hard it can be just to time everything just perfect! Are you doing any charting at all right now? Even though I don't temp each month, I have a special calender documenting my cycle days, what my CM was like, how I was feeling, how much water I drank etc. It keeps track of everything without the strictness of temping. So it's like quasi-charting :)

Maple- I do keep up with my cycle day in my planner, and I take notice of my CM even though I don't write anything down. I kinda thought I had my body figured out- I used to just assumed I O'd on CD 14, but I think I figured out it's closer to day 10-12, so I've gotten that far. This cycle, I think I remember posting something about the possibility of gettting my hopes up because I remember some (very little) EWCM around day 18, I think.

DH is being sweet. He has gotten to where he really wants it to happen and tells me it will be ok. He said today that there is no need to panic. This is my 6th cycle, so it's not like I could be concidered infertile or anything...it's just taking longer than I expected. I feel like we wait for the perfect time for everything
(marriage, buying a house, etc.), and I just feel like now it has come back to bite us in the butt. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement. I may "practice chart" this month and see how things go...

looty
01-05-2006, 02:41 AM
Sorry to hear that AF showed up. I know we were all hoping for a different outcome for you! Maybe practicing charting will be all it will take. I hope so! Charting is tempting to know just when you are O'ing. I have thought about it but I am scared that I will become more obsessed if I do that though.

Batgirl when are you planning on testing?

Is anyone else close to testing" I don't remember anyone at that point, but maybe they just haven't spoken up. :)

Jess, I'm so sorry AF showed up. I know that there is not much I can say to make you feel better. TTC is much more stressful than I thought it would be. I am realizing that I am much more neurotic than I thought possible! (and I always thought I was pretty neurotic to begin with :p ) Hang in there. It will happen soon, and you'll be an awesome mom when it does. (p.s., I'm sending you a pm)

Well, speaking of my neurosis... I thought it was bad during the TTC process, can't wait to see how neurotic I get now that I have my....

BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the test this morning because it said you have most of the hormone in your system first thing in the morning. I got a strong pink line almost immediately. I kept staring at it. Dumbfounded. Actually, I wasn't too surprised. I had a feeling (mostly mild nausea)... Dh was so funny. He started dancing around the room saying "I'm gonna be a daddy, I'm gonna be a daddy..." I still can't believe it. It seems very surreal...

Hey Looty, I tested on cd 28 (and my cycles are usually 26-28 days long). The line was so strong that it would have showed yesturday. You're at cd27, right? Good luck testing!!!!

I am SO confused. I "started" night before last with some dark red and brown on the TP. yesterday was VERY light. Today, brown only, and very little of that. Congrats Batgirl! How exciting! I hope you'll give us some baby dust before you leave.

Welcome Ali! I hope you get another BFP soon and it ends with a healthy baby.

Jess~I had something similar happen to me last cycle. (Sorry this is going to be TMI) I thought I started one night with a little dark red blood. When I went to change the tampon there was almost nothing was on it. The next day almost nothing. A few brown spots but that was it. I thought it was strange and got hopeful, but unfortunately for me AF showed the next day with full blown cramps. The day I thought was the first one I even commented to DH how it was wierd because I didn't have any cramps. :rolleyes: I hope it turns out differently for you. I can't remember who it was but I want to say that someone a few months ago had this happen and they got a BFP. I say wait a day or two and then if AF doesn't show, test first thing in the morning and see.

Thanks for the well wishes on testing ladies but I will be holding off for a while since my last two cycles were 32 and 39 days. I don't think that I will test until around the 15th if AF hasn't showed. I am hoping she doesn't. We have been trying for 6 months now and I am ready to be pregnant! Aren't we all?!;)

Jess~ My last 2 cycles have started like that and like you, it is not typical for me. I started taking progestrone suppositories 2 cycles ago, so I think that has something to do with it. My friend also had that happen and then everything turned out to be normal. I wonder if the stress of everything changes our cycles sometimes? Good luck to you.

Jess, when reading my pregnancy test directions it said that if you don't get a definite period within 7 days of testing and getting a negative, to test again. I know the waiting sucks. This is such an emotional rollercoaster. But your one tough cookie! Hang in there. Good news is coming!

Chagtown Welcome!!

Well, I am officially in my first 2ww! I had some serious O pains, right on schedule, late last night and was still feeling it a little this morning. We bd'd yesterday am, this am and this afternoon (plus a few other times this week), so hopefully timing was right on!

I thought of yet another question today....I met my parents for lunch, and we had sushi and wine. I know wine is okay right now, so I assumed sushi was too, but what about when PG? Can you still have sushi then? I can only imagine they do in Japan, but its probably different for them since their bodies have it more than us? Not that I have it a ton, but I do love it and do get together with my parents once ever month or so for lunch on a friday and we almost always get sushi.

That's a major debate amongst many doctors. Some say no way, other say in moderation. The thing to worry about is the amount of lead in raw fish, and/or bacteria. However, if you go to a reputable sushi place, you shouldn't have to worry about the bacteria any more than if you weren't pregnant. Raw fish is flash frozen at a very cold temp to kill the bacteria. Some restaurants are vigilant about cleanliness and freshness, other no so much....So that's a personal choice. You can still eat the california rolls, tempura, and anything that has cooked fish (crab, smoked salmon, cooked prawns) or no fish if you want to be very careful.

Ericka_Jarett
01-06-2006, 12:55 PM
When I was pregnant my doctor said Sushi was fine, but to be on the safe side go with only cooked fish types. That was fine with me since my main roll is Shrimp Tempura rolls and I do like Philly Rolls (but do that one in moderation, since the salmon) My doctor mainly just warned me against eating soft cheeses (feta, blue and such) due to bacterias that could be in them. When the time comes or even if you get an appt before you get pregnant, you can ask your doctor what he/she suggests.

Just checking in. I'm on CD13, definately the fun part! I think DH is starting to feel like a sperm machine, but he's certainly not complaining! ;) :o Also, I'm drinking lots of water, and a cup of green tea every day to help with my CM. I know about the green tea concerns with folic acid absorbtion, but I take my vitamins before bed, and the tea in the afternoon, so the two should both be entering my system at the same time, hope I'm safe!

anyway, have a good weekend ladies... and enjoy all the BDing!!!! :D

Looty- I think that is exactly what happened to me. Today was like a normal CD 1, even though it's technically CD 4. On the one hand, I hope I don't have to deal with AF for 4 more days, on the other, I hope I am making enough lining to support a baby! I guess this month was just weird.

Sorry I didn't say hi yesterday, Chagtown! Welcome to the group! Thanks for the input on my issues. That's weird that yours happened after taking progesterone, because now that you say that, I told my Dr. that I had kind of a break in my period one time before (had red flow for a day or 2, then nothing for a day or so, then 2 more days of red flow) and she told me that if that kept happening, that should would put me on progesterone for a while. She said my lining may be "asynchronous" and shedding at different times and that it might be harder to get pg. if that happened, but that progesterone would help.

Maplekitty- let us know about the Robitusin! I bought some white grapefruit juice that is pretty sour!! We'll see if it works!

Ericka_Jarett
01-06-2006, 09:59 PM
I used the equate brand Robitussin about 2 months ago and my CM finally showed, it thins out the CM, which was good for me, cause I could feel it sometimes inside but it never helped with BDing

chagtown
01-07-2006, 07:30 PM
Jess~I don't really know why I am on progestrone other than my OB thinks that it might help prevent another m/c and I am willing to try anything. The only thing that I know about progestrone (and someone correct me if I am wrong..) is that it builds up the uterine lining. I also read on some boards that it can prolong your cycle and when I was late, but experiencing negative tests, I quit the progestrone and my cycle started one day later. I hope you are feeling better and have some answers. :)

Hi and good luck to everyone else!!

Jess71903

Thanks for the info, chagtown. That makes sense to me about the progesterone. Maybe I was just spotting or something because I have had 2 days of normal, full flow. I don't know if I should count when that started, or when I thought I started earlier in the week. If I count when I thought I started, I was only 2 days later than normal. If I count when it was normal, I was like 5 days late- weird for me. I may end up going to the Dr. if this keeps happening and getting on progesterone.

I HATE this part of the cycle. There is no way I could be pg. and nothing I can do about it for a week or so. how boring! Seems like babies and the subject of pregnancy is everywhere! Just found out a HS friend is due in 4 weeks. Movies, tv shows, everything! Anyway, good luck to all. I hope we get some more BFPs soon!

Note to self, I really need to start drinking grapefruit juice. I keep forgetting when I go to the store!

Jess ~ Sorry about AF and the confusion you're going through. There is not much worse than a confusing cycle. Last month was just torture for me with all the spotting I had mid way through. I'm glad you finally got a regular flow.

Congratulations batgirl!! I hope you have a great pregnancy!

zhannushka ~ Interesting food choices. I really hope it means something very good!

Welcome to the group, chagtown! :)

Congrats on your first 2WW, MrsKinnison! Isn't it exciting? :D

Seems like a few of us are right around the 6 month mark for TTC. I'm starting to get pretty impatient now. And last cycle was basically wasted because of all the traveling, stress and being sick. This waiting is so frustrating! But at the same time, is anyone else really nervous? I'm so nervous about being a mom. Will I be good enough? Will I know everything I need to know about being a good mom? Will we be able to make it financially? Will our marriage change too much when the baby comes? Etc, etc. I don't mean to sound negative but I think about all of these things in the back of my mind all the time.

And the babies everywhere? Sheesh, boy do I hear you on that. I was almost in tears watching ER this week.

For me, we're at the fun part, CD12. It feels good to start a new cycle.

jnshanna Although I'm new to TTC, I think all those questions you listed are why I was holding off TTC. Its nice to know I am not the only one that is nervous about becoming a parent. At the same time, I think we will all make wonderful moms!

I can't wait to watch ER now after seeing the comments. I always work Thursday nights, but we DVR it and watch it every Sunday. Usually we watch it later, but I think I'm going to see if DH wants to watch it now.

Good luck to those who are tesing and to those who are in the fun part of their cycle! :)

Sorry to hear Michelle :(

~~~~~~~~~~~
So I'm coming to a point where I'm thinking a lot about the "what ifs" of TTC.
You know when you are trying, and you do everything "right". You follow your chart, you keep track of the CM, you BD LOTS around O time, and each month AF comes to town! I'm starting to think - what the heck am I doing wrong!?! So then I start to think, what's my timeline? At what point do I say we need to start temping to really know whats going on? At what point do I call my doctor about possibly fertility problems? It's something I just don't even want to consider because we all have the hopes that it'll happen fast and easy and ba-da-bing we'll get pregnant, but what if not!?
Thanks Shanna, funny we are on the same CD. Let's hope this is our month.
About the job I decided with hubby not to take the job. The guy would contact me constantly and want me to confirm the start date (which I did in the previous 10 e-mails) and than he wanted to confirm the pay and it was always wrong (his last one to me was we can pay you what you want, I can't ask for more from the client though as the people working there now are making a lot less), I am the only one that knows the type of work they wanted me for, so I wasn't taking less, plus having to go over the bridge is making me loss $10 a week.
I am fine with not having this job. I am looking for another job, but we have some traveling in February and in March as well.
In regards to the babies everywhere, I saw that episode of ER and it was great.
As stated by Jess71903
Seems like babies and the subject of pregnancy is everywhere! Just found out a HS friend is due in 4 weeks. Movies, tv shows, everything! Anyway, good luck to all. I hope we get some more BFPs soon!
I agree. My favorite past time on Friday afternoons was to go to Barnes and Noble, get a coffee and sit down with all the gossip magazines (US, Life & Style, InTouch, etc.) and read away. I am getting so frustrated with all of the celebs being pg and reading about Katie Holmes, etc.... I know that I am just bitter and I had to be that way, but I am. Everyone I know has babies on the brain. My only way to deal with it is to keep myelf busy. I have started working out a lot and really watching my diet. I am also in grad school, so that really helps to occupy my time.
Oh well....what can we do, but keep trying...right?? Have a good week!
I see we have a lot of ER fans! I don't know about any of your political views, but I am kind of getting tired of different agendas being pushed on that show. Other than the parts I disagreed with, it was a good show thurs, but did anybody miss the "issue" that they previewed all week with Neela and Gallant? It didn't happen this week. Anyway, back to the thread's subject- I went to dinner tonight with 2 new moms and 1 mom-to-be. BABIES, BABIES, BABIES!!!!!
Yeah, something major is going to happen with Gallant and Neela on next week's show. I thought it was supposed to happen last week but it didn't. Neela looked pretty upset. :(
That's fun that we're on the same CD, Ericka. :)
Sorry about AF, Michelle. :(
Sorry about AF Michelle... I ho[pe she leaves soon so you can move along with the next cycle!
Babies really ARE everywhere right now! My neighbour is excited for when we have kids, and she's already picked out the gift she'll get us when we do... silly woman! She makes me laugh, but if she weren't as sweet as she is.... I'd want to deck her.
I'm going to spend a weekend with a friend who's been through a few miscarriages in 2 weeks. I almost feel closer to her now that we've been trying for a while. They tried for a long time too, and I'm still not sure if they're there yet, and I know TTC for a while isn't anywhere NEAR the same as a m/c.... anyway, I'm babbling now, sorry.
CD16 for me, I think O is coming up, so we're covering our bases. DH is happy, lol!!!!!
Just checking in...
I am at CD31 (my cycles are usually 35 days), so I decided to test today and got a BFN :( Hopefully, it was just too early to test... :confused: I will try not to test again until Friday.
Michelle: Very sorry about AF showing up...
Sorry about AF Michelle. I hope that next month is it for you!
Sorry about the BFN zhannushka. I hope that it was just too early and that you end the week with a BFP. It looks like we are on the same CD so hopefully we'll be due the same time!
I'm right there with the ladies that have concerns still. I have been trying for 6 months now and although I hope and pray every month that I get pregnant and have a healthy baby, I still have some fears. From what my friends say it is normal and you will have the same fears while prgenant.
Like I said to zhannushka I am on CD 31. My average number of CD is 31. Last cycle I had a 39 day cycle though. If I am right I think that I am 11 DPO. I am going to hold out until this weekend or next Monday to test. I hope it make it and get a BFP! My husband seems more hopeful this month. I told him that I expected AF on Thursday or Friday and he said, "Well, that is if you're not pregnant." I got a huge smile and told him I hoped I was. :D
Good luck to everyone!
Here is something I found tonight. I just bought a small bottle (like 2 serving size) of grapefruit juice tonight, will see if that does anything, I know Robitussin worked back when I got pregnant with Rebekah. May just stick with that, since it's actually cheaper than juice and is proven to work.
Grapefruit Juice
Usage: I researched grapefruit juice and could find nothing anywhere supporting the various claims that it helps to increase cervical mucus and/or helps a fertilized egg to implant. I believe this to be an old (or new!) wives' tale. Grapefruit juice is rich in calcium, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin C, and is of course somewhat high-carb due to the fructose (fruit sugar).
Recommended Dosage: However much you feel like it, unless it gives you heartburn!
Food Sources: Grapefruits.
Side Effects: If you drink too much of it, you might get heartburn. You might also find yourself having to pee a lot if you drink a lot. Heh heh...
Guaifenesin (Robitussin)
Usage: Guaifenesin is used to loosen and thin mucus.
Recommended Dosage: First of all, see this warning about possible birth defects from the use of guaifenesin. Now, if you still want to try this, make very sure that you buy the plain type that has no letters after the name. Some of the varieties contain decongestants, which will actually dry up your mucus. The recommended dosage for increasing cervical mucus is 2 teaspoons (200 mg) three times a day, with a full glass of water. A better alternative might be fresh, raw garlic, which also thins mucus but definitely does not cause birth defects.
Food Sources: None.
Side Effects: See this warning about possible birth defects from the use of guaifenesin, and also for more information (pro and con) about it in general.
Pineapple Juice
Usage: There is an old wives' tale floating around that pineapple juice will help a fertilized egg implant. However, pineapple juice is not recommended for use in TTC and/or pregnancy. In large doses, it can cause uterine contractions and bring on spontaneous abortions (miscarriage).
Recommended Dosage: Drink only in small quantities, if at all.
Food Sources: Pineapples.
Side Effects: Large doses may cause uterine contractions, miscarriage, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, very heavy menstrual periods. Unripe pineapple is poisonous, causing excessive diarrhea.
Wow Ericka_Jarett -
Grapefruit Juice
Usage: I researched grapefruit juice and could find nothing anywhere supporting the various claims that it helps to increase cervical mucus and/or helps a fertilized egg to implant. I believe this to be an old (or new!) wives' tale.
I had no idea the the grapefruit juice was unfounded. I have been chugging that stuff for the past month and I HATE grapefruit juice. I am on CD10 so according to my chart I should be BD my but off b/c my cycle is 28-29 days. We have be going at it for the past three days. Wish me luck that I catch that egg this month. :D
Ericka_Jarett
01-10-2006, 08:00 AM
It was intersting information to find, I will say that. I just took a little sip of the grapefruit juice I have and it's horrible. I know for sure now I will not even be trying that route again. I will stick with my generic Equate Robittusin instead. Prayerfully I won't need any of it an just get pregnant.
Me - having some CM and my temp dropped a whole .6 from yesterday, so maybe I am going to O early this month. Be closer to what my doctor would want me to anyway (CD 15 instead of CD22) Last month I went to CD32 and AF showed that day, it was a short cycle, one before it was CD38. I have lost 10 lbs roughly since the day after Thanksgiving. I came home from Disney weighing the exact weight I did when I left, so imagine my surprise (we had some good food and lots of carbs while away) I have slowly been getting carbs back into our diet, but still in moderation, our eating has changed for the better in this house. :)
So CD 25 here and I have been averaging a 26 day cycle. Not really feeling anything either way this month. I usually have pretty significant back cramping by this time of the month, but it's pretty minimal this time around.
My IL's are coming into town on Thursday night. I think that I will probably test that morning, just to get it out of the way before they arrive. If it's BFP though, I may not be able to keep my mouth closed! We are already going to be telling them that DH accepted a job in St. Louis (home) so we will be moving back next summer! I'm really excited about that, even though it's a little bittersweet because I really like it here! It will be nice to have family around though, especially for Maya and whoever else may come (hopefully!)
Good luck to everyone1
Do you guys have room for 1 more? Here are my stats:
Me: Joanne (31) - Birthday (September 4)
DH: John (32)
Married: October 25, 2003
Last BCP: Charted to Avoid until Oct 2005
DS/DD : Not yet
MC/Stillbirth/Infant Loss: n/a
TTC since: Oct 2005
I don't know if it is strange that I charted for awhile, then stopped, but we just figured that, at least in the beginning, we'd forget about charting and just go for it.
FYI I'm at CD1 now. I find it so frustrated that I have to wait an entire month to test/know anything again!
seapod - sorry about your BFN
Me: Emily, 26
Birthday: Feb 3
DH: Josh, 26
Married: May 22, 2004
Last BCP: Dec. 24th
DS/DD: just furbaby
MC/Stillbirth/Infant Loss: MC at 10 weeks, August 2005
TTC since: this month
We're really "just seeing what happens this month". I don't know my cycle since I have been on BCP and we haven't DTD more often than usual to try to catch an egg. However, I guess it could happen, so I'm here. I am paying close attention to things and next month will try "for real" if AF shows up. :)
Boy am I happy that the grapefruit juice is probably a wive's tale. I drank some yesterday for the first time and I could barely finish the glass. Ick!
Twylla, that'll be nice to talk to someone that understands the TTC world. :) I wish I had someone IRL that could understand. Especially since I'm also charting, nobody understands that IRL. I always get the "just let it happen" speech. :rolleyes:
zhannushka ~ I hope it's just too early for you and you'll get a much better result in a few days.
looty ~ I hope your DH is right! :D It's so cute when our DH's say sweet things like that. I wonder if they know how happy it makes us?
Sorry about the BFN, seapod. But from looking at your chart, it might just be a bit early based on the EWCM you got. Don't lose hope! :)
Good luck with BDing your butt off, Kimmer. ;)
Ericka ~ I hope you're O'ing earlier and I get to follow along. LOL I really don't want to O late! I'd be happy if I O'd before CD17.
Man, I love it when we have a lot of activity, but it makes it so hard to catch up! Welcome to Emily and Joanne! You're never too late to join!
Sorry for the BFNs girls, but I agree with PP. Don't give up until AF shows up!
It looks like several of us are getting to that point where just letting things happen isn't satisfying us anymore. I, too, have started to temp, just as a trial run. This is my 6th TTC cycle (I think several of us are about there). I, too, bought some grapefruit juice and have been drinking some, but MAN is it nasty! I started putting some more sugar in mine!
I have done REALLY good drinking more water! I have completely sworn off carbonated drinks and just take ice water with me to work and with all my meals. I feel like I am drinking a ton of water. I am considering getting some baby asprin. I read that it helps the uterine lining and since I have had short, light periods, maybe mine needs some help.
I can't remember who posted it now, about being scared about being a parent, but I wanted to comment on that too. As desperately as I want to be pregnant, there are times when I contemplate the actual birth, being a new mom, and then beyond that. They don't stay babies, and parenting a teenager scares the crap out of me! I wonder about how things will change forever with my body, with my relationship with DH, etc. IT is scary, but I know for a fact that I want to be a mom and that I can handle it, so better sooner than later for me! We have been together for 7 1/2 yrs, married for 2 1/2 so we are READY! Anyway, good luck to all you testers! I hope we have some BFPs soon!
Looty- I am guessing I am 14-15dpo but I am not sure. Normally my cycles are 30 days which would put me at CD30 today but last month my cycle was 45. I had all my normal pre-AF symptoms that whole time also. I thought maybe I had an early m/c but had taken tests that came out negative. So I am holding out testing in case this cycle is long too. Ok so I'm still new to this actually trying to test without wasting too many POAS tests :)... need some more help :)
When should I test again? Before I went on BC I had cycles that typically range from 28-40 days. They were kind of long. This is the third official cycle. I haven't been able to keep on the temping schedule either so that is kind of out.
I also got dizzy this evening again. Is this a possible sign? The last couple of days it's been pretty busy and stressful at work and I haven't been getting my meals like normal so it might have put my slightly in low blood pressure?
I'm open to suggestions :)
Well if you've had 40 day cycles before, and now you're on CD41 right? I'd say wait another week for AF, and if no show then test again. Easier said than done, but it won't waste $$ on tests.
CD17 for me and just 30 mins ago I started feeling very crampy - OOoooOoohhhh ovulation pains perhaps!?!? Let's hope so!! CM has been very slight this month, even with robitusin, and a cup of green tea in the morning, and drinking grapefruit juice in the afternoons! Argh! The *one* major indicator of ovulation, and I'm just not getting anything! so frustrating! But DH and I have been BD'ing every day since CD13, so we're covering all our bases.
By the general rule fo thumb that your luteal phase doesn't last longer than 17 days, that means with last months cycle of 35 days, I couldn't have O'd after CD19. So I'm basically guessing that with this month I could O anywhere between CD13 to CD20. Hope that makes sense, lol
Ericka_Jarett
01-11-2006, 04:08 AM
maplekitty - you could still O without having EWCM or any major sign of CM. I did when I got pregnant with my daughter, I never paid any attention to the CM really and have never been one to get a lot of it when I do.
seapod - I hope when you do test again, that it's a BFP. It could be running long since you said you are stressed at work, that will prolong AF and sometimes even a positive.
chagtown - the increase could be implantation CM. I have read that some women have an increase after Oing.
kimmer - which line is darker in color the test or reference? Hopes these help. Here are pics of some tests:
A positive result (indicating an LH Surge) is indicated by a test band that is of equal or greater intensity (equal or darker) than the control band. A negative result for the LH Surge is indicated when the test band is of lesser intensity (lighter) than the control band or cannot be seen. A negative result means the LH level of the urine sample is at or near its normal level and that the LH surge is not in progress. Remember, there is always some quantity of LH in your system, so a light color band in the test region is NOT an indicator of a positive result.
http://www.ovulation-calculator.com/ovulation-tests/tests.gifhttp://www.ovulation-calculator.com/ovulation-tests/otresults.gif
Me - I took an OPK last night and it was negative, so I should be Oing in another day or so, gotta get some more tests today. Took my temp and it was up .2 from yesterday. I'm CD15, have been Oing CD22-23 for the last 7 months, not sure about last month at all, since I had my teeth pulled. So I am getting ready for BDing.
Ericka_Jarett- Thanks so much for posting the pics it made it much easier to see the results from other test as well. CD11 and I've got some EWCM. Hopefully I can seduce DH tonight. ;)
Anyone else's DH having "performance" issues??? If he feels like he "has" to DTD in any way, he is just not into it. It's weird because he really wants a baby and talks about it all the time but if I bring up that we need to start BDing because it is the right time, it's like he just isn't into it. He really just wants to DTD like normal and "hope" that we concieve a baby sometime. Unfortunatly our normal is maybe once a week. :( Now, I know to much about my body and I just can't let the opportunity pass if I know it is a good time for us to BD.
Is my husband weird???
Michelle
01-11-2006, 10:11 AM
Chris~n~Jen - Nope, I don't think that your husband is weird. In fact, I noticed that my husband is not totally up to par when the pressure is on. He also really wants baby but sometimes he does not do as well under pressure. I have just kind of learned to keep it to myself as far as when we need to be bd'ing. He's smart enough to know what's going on (because we do it a lot more in that time frame), but I'm finding that not putting the pressure on him works really well! :)
Carrots, huh? I'm picking up a Costco size bag then! :)
Deanna1018
Chris~Jen...your husband is not weird. My husband is just like that. This is the first cycle TTC and during the time when BD timing was crucial my DH was not as into it (but did what needed to be done) but just last night and this morning (when we are now past ovulation) he has been all luvy dovey and willing to do anything and everything. Frustrating beyond words!!!!!
Chris~n~Jen
01-11-2006, 10:27 AM
Thanks Michelle! This is only our third cycle trying. So I'm just starting to learn how to handle this. I figured it was pretty normal. I guess I just got worried that maybe he isn't really as anxious to have a baby as he seems to be. Although when I mentioned that maybe we should put it off for a few months he was very vocal about the fact that he did not want to do that.
I'll just have to be sneaky and seduce him without him realizing what is going on. :D ;) :D
This is going to be the third cycle that we are "really" TTC... I know that it's normal and I probably shouldn't worry yet, but - why do I feel SO sad? :(
I'm so sorry about AF Zhanna!
Michelle, we must've crossposted (I was editing my original post) - thank you!
I just spoke with DH and told him about AF - he is feeling really bad now too. For some reason, both of us were convinced that this was our lucky month... DH said that this cycle we'll be BD'ing EVERY DAY, and THAT just made him feel much better somehow... :D
zhannushka I'm sorry about AF! I think every time she shows, we are all always going to be sad. During the entire 2ww we are all hoping and thinking that we might be PG, so when we're not its very disappointing and sad, not to mention those stupid pms hormones!
My husband is like yours to a degree Jen. He told me a few months ago that it seems the only time I want to DTD is when I am trying to get pregnant, that's not really the case, but it seems that way to him apparently. I have tried to change that, he hasn't been asking me what day I am and I haven't been mentioning it much either. He knows last month was not going to be our month, just as I knew that. With having my teeth pulled right at the time I was Oing, I definately was not in the mood and he totally understood. I am trying not to pressure him and trying not to put pressure on myself.
Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes! :)
CD2...ho hum...I will live vicariously through those of you in a more exciting phase ;)
jess71903 - I so hear you about being scared to be a parent! The teenager thing scares me too! Oddly enough, so does the toddler phase. I think this comes from how I relate to my nieces and nephews - I'm cool with the newborns, and have fun with the "older" kids, but I just do not know what to do with the toddlers. Anyway, I'm sure I'll figure it out when the time comes ;)
zhannushka - sorry to hear about AF!
chagtown - out of curiousity, did you get your "bonus" EWCM when exercising? It happens to me all the time - usually it's more of the "wet" variety, but for some reason, exercise does it to me - just though I would throw that out there.
As several have mentioned, the timing has been the hardest part for us too. I was not suprised to get AF yesterday. What with the holidays and travel, I didn't think it would be our month either.
Question about the Robitussin - do you take it every day? Just during your potential fertile time?
What is the recommended dose of guaifenesin?
The recommended dose for improving cervical mucus, based on a 1982 article in Fertility and Sterility, is two teaspoons (200 mg) taken orally three times per day. If mucus still appears thick and doesn't have good spinnbarkeit (ability to stretch), one can take as much as four teaspoons (400 mg) four times per day (the maximum dose on this over the counter medication). Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water, and attention should be given to drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day -- one needs water to produce mucus.
What cycle days should one take guaifenesin?
Just as the dose can vary a bit, so can the days. The article linked above had patients starting the guaifenesin on cycle day 5 - five days after the start of menses. This seems rather early as mucus is not an issue until about five days before ovulation - based on the fact that sperm can only live five days at best, and most pregnancies are the result of intercourse in the five days leading up to ovulation. Because of this information, it is now more common for doctors to suggest starting guaifenesin about five days before expected ovulation and continuing through ovulation day (six days total, for those with regular cycles). For those with irregular cycles, one should start taking guaifenesin about five days before the earliest day ovulation might be expected. For those taking Clomid (clomiphene citrate, Serophene) in a 5-day protocol, one can probably wait until the day after the last Clomid pill before starting the expectorant.
Also green tea is said to help with EWCM.
Jen,
My DH is the same. In fact, last night he said "I don't do it on demand" although he wants a baby too. So, I have to be sneaky and our usual is once a week also. What's a girl to do? That's why I say that we're just seeing what happens without changing our routine this month.
I thought that by explaining to my husband why we need to BD more often around the time of ovulation...educating him on CM, CP, etc...would help him to understand but when I started to do that is freaked him out :eek: (he feels more pressure) . He said "there are some things I don't need to know'...LOL. We are currently TTC and charting so he understand the importance but I think around that time each month when BD increases he will always be a little freaked" no matter what I do
Anyone else's DH having "performance" issues???
Is my husband weird???
Yup, and Nope.
My DH sometimes feels the same way. He says I only want to BD b/c we want to get pg. It's simply ot true... though I have been doing more of the initiating when I suspect O is coming up. It also puts a lot of pressure on us, and makes it a little less 'easy' if that makes sense. I try to be spontaneous, which I know he likes... and if we move along to next month, well, I few a few little 'outfits' I may pull out of the closet to keep things exciting for both of us. ;)
I hear all of you on the DH thing. Mine told me once that "I am not just a sperm donor, you know!" I think being seductive and sexy about it instead of telling him that we have to because it's that day helps a lot. I think they want their sexy wives instead of being "used", you know? DH wants a baby bad too, but it takes the fun out of it when we have to schedule things.
Twylla- I have been keeping up with my temps but I have no clue if it's right or not. The first 2 days I got up out of bed to take it, so that was wrong, but it was also during AF, so kind of doesn't count. I also don't know if I have the right kind of thermometer, but I figure mine can detect a temp rise. I am glad I am taking a trial run, though and not relying on it because I don't know what I am doing!
I just found out today that my best friend is having a boy. Her husband (who is DH's good friend/cousin) said that he, and two other friends of ours had boys and it will be just Tony's luck to have a girl (he talks big like he really really wants a boy and not a girl- he has said he would be happy either way). I wanted to tell our friends that we would be thrilled to have anything at this point (in a joking way), but I didn't want their good news call to be about my inability to conceive. Anyway, it's either CD9 or 7 depending on which AF start date I pick. Fun will begin soon!
sorry about AF Zhanna- It's getting sad for me every month too. I think it is just all the anticipation of the 2WW and when you have that little bit of hope left at the end, when it's late or spotty, or whatever is really really hard when AF shows.
Sorry to hear about AF Zhanna. I get sad too. I think it is all the anticipation and hope plummetting.
I figured it out pretty quick that it would work better for my DH if I just spontaneously initiated something. Since I have been doing that I haven't heard any kind of complaints. ;) I usually tell him after I think that I have O'ed. Like someone else said he wants to know a little so he knows what is going on but doesn't really want any details.
I am waiting to test now. I think I will test on Monday if AF doesn't show up. I have been having mild cramps the past two days so I am not sure what to think. I am still going to try to keep the faith.
Ladies~ I hear ya about our DH's performance 'issues'. I have brought out the outfits, suggesting that we do it in different rooms, etc. any basically to not make it seem like a schedule. Even though we both want this so badly, almost every month he makes an issue about it and will just lay there... I get very angry, but more sad. I told him to throw me a freaking bone and quit pouting. I understand that they might feel 'used' or something, but come on...I don't know, I guess that I just have a hard time feeling sorry for him. After 2 m/c's over the course of a year trying, he knows what's at stake every month. I guess we just need to try to mix it up more and I agree that they need to know enough to feel informed, but not too much...
Thanks for the insight regarding the increase in my CM. I didn't have more EW after working out, but that is interesting. My new weirdo thing going on is my veins look like a road map. I have no cramps, sore boobs...etc. just lots of CM and veins.
Good luck ladies! Sorry for AF Zhanna
Zhanna sorry about AF. :(
Jess that sounds like me charting! lol. I became very lazy with the temps... but maybe if this isn't our cycle, i'll try temping again next cycle. It certainly can't hurt, right? ;)
CD18 for me. I wish I knew if I've o'd or not.....
Had a temp rise again today. EWCM yesterday, so hopefully we got it this month. Looks like I may have O'd sooner than usual, but will not know for sure unless I have a temp rise tomorrow.
So good to know I'm not alone! Thanks for all the suggestions. Next cycle I will most certainly be a little more descrete with him. We actually had a really long talk about it last night. We are also going to try and spice it up a bit so it is more exciting for the both of us. We're heading to the store "Seduction" this weekend to pick up some goodies. So it should be fun. I think he will be more into it then, even though he does know enough about my cycle to know that there is also a second motivie during a certain time. Whatever works!!!
Zhanna~ Sorry to see AF found you. :(
Jess ~ I am the same way with charting. I started out charting but just kept forgetting to take my temp, or forgetting to add it to the chart. So I jumped back over to "Seeing what happens" and figure if at cycle 6 we are still waiting then I may be more serious with charting. Maybe?!?
Taterbaby ~ That is funny! You know, the turkey baster thing is not such a bad idea. It would probably be much easier than having to go through this whole routine every month! :eek: I'll have to mention it to DH. LOL!
I think I O'd yesterday. I'll try and get DH to BD tonight just to be safe. :rolleyes: I expect AF to show around the 25th if she is gonna. So I think I may test next weeked (21st or 22nd).
Thank you everyone for your kind words. I pretty much back to my normal TTC'ing self today... ;)
For whatever reason I always thought that it would be very easy to get PG for me. My mom has always been extremely fertile and so are both of my grandmothers, so I just assumed that I am too...
Good luck to anyone testing and BD'ing these days!
well as of yesterday at 5 am, I'm out. I think that we are going to take a break this month, as DH is travelling a lot and we are going to Vegas in a few weeks, and I would like to be able to enjoy the free drinks.
Just a question for those of you with short cycles, has anyone mentioned it to their doctor? I am averaging 26 day cycles, which is shorter than I used to be (both while on BCP and off). Does anyone know what is TOO short to get pg?
Ericka_Jarett
emermel,
I would mention it to the doctor. Just found out what he/she says about it. I mentioned my cycles of 33 days and my doctor thought they were too long. Go figure.
Ericka~ I think that a I may test this weekend or Monday (which is still the weekend for me this week). That is all if AF doesn't show. I haven't noticed any cramping today that couldn't be related to my bowels. :o We are on our sixth cycle and I really hope this is it for us. I swear any time I think about it too hard than I feel a little bit of cramping. I don't know if that is my body's way of telling to think again or what.:p Anyone else testing soon?
chagtown
01-13-2006, 07:09 AM
I have no idea when I will test, I am 9DPO. Overall I feel totally normal. The only things are the increase in CM, increase in veins (esp. on my legs) and I have been having some weird dreams, but not sore BB's or cramping. I might wait until I am late this time because seeing BFN stinks and I play mind games with myself until I actually start. Good luck ladies :)
Thanks for the info re: Robitussin!
I do think guys feel a little more pressure if they are specifically DTDing to make a baby, KWIM? My DH was quite sure that he did not want me to chart, etc., and I think that might be the reason. My plan for now is to loosely keep track of my CD and CM, and initiate when it's appropriate :) Good luck to all the shoppers and outfit wearers ;)
And..good luck to all the testers! I hope to see some BFPs soon! :D
Just checking in quickly. CD 20 for me, plenty of BDing. Last night I even propped up my hips after. DH laughed and teased me, but he's the one who put the pillows there... lol. So hopefully we're covered for whever I o, or o'd, or whatever. Unless AF shows, I'll probably test around Feb 1.
Have a good weekend ladies!!!
Tater- LOL- that makes me laugh! My smart response would have been something like, "so, you can get yourself turned on, but I can't do it for you?"
Good luck with the testing, Looty! I can't look back now, but whoever said they wait to test until they are late, I am with you. I have taken 1 HPT in my life and it was this past cycle when I was late. I don't know why, but this 6 month mark seems like a major landmark or something. Like I can now be in the 6 month club or something. Anyway, I am having watery CM but nothing major. I have had a small temp rise, at least I think I have. I really just wanted to chart to be sure I AM Oing. I guess I have gotten paranoid. Anyway, good luck to all in the 2WW. I hope you guys can find some fun "toys" to spice up the baby making!
Welcome, Squee! We'd love to have you! I notice yall are really young and just married. DH and I got married at 23 and 24 and waited 2 1/2 years to start TTC, for various reasons. I love hearing people's stories. What makes you want to get started so quick? At any rate, welcome and good luck!
Well my temp dropped yesterday and went up again today, so looks like I am still Oing earlier then my normal CD22, which is fine with me. Poor hubby has had the worst week though at work, so hopefully he hasn't been too stressed with that and TTC this month. He has only gotten like a total of 14 hours of sleep in the last 4 days.
I won't be testing until before our TN trip on the 3rd of February. I will get the new thread started February 1st and hopefully can be adding lots of BFP to the January grad list :)
Erica- seems like you know about charting. I have been (though with the "wrong" thermometer), so I don't know how accurate it is. My temp dropped this morning a lot. I have had 97.2-97.5 or so and this morning it was 96.8. Is that what happens before O? If I do O, will it drop, then go up drastically? If I am not Oing, will it stay flat?
I went and got my hair done this a.m. and my hairdresser is a real sweetie. She has been TTC for a while and knew that I was. First thing she asked was if there was any news (NO!) so I asked her the same and she is due July 18th. She was really sweet and sorry and stuff, and told me I needed to go see her herbal guy. She said he told her she would be preg. in 3 months and on the 3rd month she was sick and about to take some steroids, but was told to test 1st and she got a BFP. Has anybody else heard of going to an herbalist? Apparently it was her DH that was lacking in something (zinc, I think). If I don't get a BFP soon, I might be willing to try it. If this is the same guy I have heard about before, he supposedly has a 100% success rate.
Quote: I have been (though with the "wrong" thermometer), so I don't know how accurate it is. My temp dropped this morning a lot. I have had 97.2-97.5 or so and this morning it was 96.8. Is that what happens before O? If I do O, will it drop, then go up drastically? If I am not Oing, will it stay flat?
You can get a BBT themometer at Walmart, they are about $9.96 I think I paid. Also if you wake up later or earlier than normal you just had to add or subtract degrees in order to get the most accurate reading. (.1 degree for every 30 mins difference from your wake time)
Usually your temp will drop that low right before you O. After you O you should continually rise, some people experience a dip between day 5-9 (try not to read into that too much, sometimes it's implantation, other times just happens)
My temp usually gradually rises continually until I get close to when AF will start that it starts dropping a day or 2 before she shows up. I was 97.5-97.7 and then the next day dropped to 97.1, went up to 97.3, than 97.6 and sitting near that range now. To see what my temps have been doing, you can check my Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/22964) Right now I don't have a line showing Oing because I need to end 1-2 more days of temps since I had a slight dip. But looks from what my temps are saying that I O'd either on CD14 or CD17, will know shortly for sure
Any questions feel free to ask away, I'll do my best to answer.
Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. You girls have been busy! All this talk about outfits cracks me up. I actually had to use that tactic this week to get DH "in the mood". :p
Welcome Steph! And congrats newlywed! :D
I had a really busy week at work once again. I just got a promotion and that's making me even more busy. Yesterday was a tough day because one of the girls from work brought in her baby. I had my door closed because I was busy and that's a good thing because I started crying! I've never had that kind of reaction to a baby visiting before. In fact, everyone knows that I'm the #1 person that gets to hold the baby first because I'm ALL about babies. It sure was an awful feeling.
I'm just waiting to O still. My temp keeps going up and down so I'm not sure how soon I will. I have my fingers crossed for a + OPK today. But I might not get one this month. I'll settle for a big temp rise tomorrow morning. ;)
Sorry for the ladies that had AF show. And good luck to any testers!!
Thanks so much for the info, Ericka (I think I spelled your name wrong before. Sorry :) ). I am a little nervous because I want to know that I am Oing. I will definitely pick up a BBT thermometer if I don't get a BFP around the 1st of Feb. I just kind of decided to chart last-minute and used what I had.
I know what you mean jnshanna. I am sorry you got so emotional. I always said I would never be "that" woman, but now I am. I guess it doesn't go away until that BFP, so that is what I will be hoping for you!
