I need to buy summer clothes right now. It sucks! We are going to Mexico in Feb. I've lost 30 lbs since summer so everything i have from last year is too big and i am not (and probably wont be) down to the size that i have in storage. I probably need 16's which is a weird size because it borderlines plus sizes. I have 14's so if by some grace of god i actually get down to that size in the next 7 weeks i can wear some of the things i have in storage.

I've already bought these 2 things from Old Navy:

Skirt

Swimming Suit- Bought this in a 1x but its probably going to be too big. I couldn't find anything similar to it in non-plus sizes. So if someone can help with that it would be great! I might just have it altered (i assume you can have bathing suits altered!) because dh said it was "sexy" and that he liked it. Since my dh doesn't typically have an opinion about these sorts of things him saying that goes a long way. I was so excited that he liked it! I am thinking about sewing sequence onto it for a little added bling.

and this Juicy Couture Swim Cover Up:

I only need some basics since i don't plan to still be wearing this size next summer or better yet i hope to be in maternity clothes ;) but that's another story. We're going on a 5 day cruise out of Galveston so i need day and evening wear.

Daytime Wear:

2-3 pairs of capris and/or shorts - not denim - neutral colors like khaki, white and brown or blue would even work.

2-3 skirts or sundresses - I already have 1 skirt and the Juicy terry dress but want a couple more since dresses are so comfortable and are easy to get on and off at a beach.

4-5 shirts - t-shirts, tanks, sleeveless or polos that can coordinate with the shorts and skirts.

Shoes - Brown Casual Comfortable Sandals

Evening Wear:

1 formal dress

2-3 cocktail dresses (a basic black dress that i could add a sweater or scarf to look different would be great!)

I really appreciate the help. When i was at size 16 last time i was in so much denial that i didn't buy anything lasting. I seriously skipped from 14 to 18 in one foul swoop. I probably had 1 pair of pants and that was it. They are long since gone since it was over a year ago that i was at this weight and i wore them so much they fell apart! :o I don't know where to look online. I don't have a fortune to spend on clothes that i only plan to wear once. I honestly have no idea where to look for summer clothes online during winter. I've checked JCPenneys out and didn't find anything i like. I need someone to point me in the right direction!

TIA and i look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

ETA: I forgot to say i currently wear a size Large shirt. I just came down from an XL in the last 10 lbs so i'll probably still be in Large at the cruise or a medium that runs big. It's hard to buy this far in advance with weight loss!

I'm having some luck at Macys! I was searching for a tube tunic and found this one for $20.99!

Now i need a pair of khaki capris to go with it!

Have you checked the Gap?

I found these things online --

Cord skirt -- I have one of these, and wear it all summer (and fall and spring) long. It's on sale, too -- only $29.99
http://www.gap.com/Asset_Archive/GPWeb/Assets/Product/328/328814/main/gp328814-00p01v01.jpg

Gap.com has a bunch of T's, some on sale, and lots of sizes and colors and kinds -- my fave is the scoopneck.

I don't know how much you want to spend on dresses, but JCrew has these in your size...some are cocktail, some a little more formal...(oh, and they are all on sale)

http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/category.jhtml?id=cat75529&navAction=jump

JCrew also has this skirt online in your size and in 5 different colors -- and it's on sale ($24.99), and cute and VERY comfy -- perfect for a cruise with beach and swimming!

This is the only polo I was able to find online:

(also JCrew)

Also, do you have a Nordstrom Rack or a Loehman's near you? They always have good stuff and it's usually a season or two old...

JcPenney has 36 little black dresses! I wasn't sure of whether you wanted a dress with sleeves or not, so you can view their choices here. Thanks mrstim. I didn't see that lace skirt on old navys website. I'll definitely pick that up!

kalogrias - I bought the sailor capri from the Gap. Couldn't decide between white and Khaki so i bought the khaki and i'll go back for the white ones if need be.

I sure hope i am still a 16 in Feb now that i am buying all these cute clothes! Not that i'll be too devastated if i'm down to a 14 ;)

I just bought these from JCrew!
http://www.jcrew.com/images/nov299/emstyle/73782_NA6280.jpg

That's a good start for 1 day. I still need quite a few more short sleeve/sleeveless shirts. I don't mind buying those since they will get me through the spring, size wise but i still don't want to pay a fortune for them. I still need a pair of black capris too. After that i think i'll have the day wear pretty much taken care of or at least the basics. Khaki and black capris and khaki shorts and lots of shirts should make things mostly interchangeable.

Congrats on the weight loss!

Have you tried your mall's department stores' super clearance racks? A lot of them still have summery clothes, I noticed...
