Does anyone use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation, particularly in summertime? What kinds have you tried? What kinds have worked well for you? Thanks. :)

I really like Laura Mercier and also Benefit makes a really good one. They both have spf 15.
In the past I've used Aveda's tinted moisturizer (I liked it) and on and off I use Clinique's City Block (I find this one to be a tad too thick for me - think more of a tinted sunscreen than a moisturizer).

Thank you both for the great suggestions! :)

I use Clinique Super City Block. It's great as a tinted sunscreen – oil-free, decent SPF (25) and the coverage is nice.

For the past few years I've been wearing:
http://a248.e.akamai.net/www.maccosmetics.com/images/products/M3H2_128.jpg
Select Tint SPF 15
A lightweight moisturizing tint with SPF 15. Water-based. Oil-free. Packed with conditioners. Hydrates the skin. Protects it, too. Keeps it moist, flawless, soft and youthful. Ultra-sheer: invisible. Feels like nothing on.

I use Almay Moisture Tint Sports Formula. Comes in three shades (light, medium, dark) and has an SPF of 15. You can get in a drugstore, and it's not too pricey.

Laura Mercier is the best!
I use Laura Mercier's too and I like it. I also have used Bobby Brown's version and it was nice as well.

Stay away from Cover Girl! Their tinted moisturized is super-greasy and will slide off your face by noon! CG has turned me off from these products for good! :( Darn, cuz I hate foundation in the summer.

I like Neutrogena's new one - Healthy Skin Enhancer. It has SPF 20 and pro-retinol in addition to having pretty good coverage. I have oily skin and it hasn't been too greasy, either.

I rarely wear anything, even tinted moisturizer in the summer, but when I do it is Laura Mercier. I love it. I wear the lightest shade with a bit of under eyecover and powder on top. I think this product is great and definitely worth the money.

I second this :) Great coverage without the cakey makeup feeling....plus it washes off very easily!

I really like the Benefit one. After I put it on, to get rid of the shine, I use their Peach sheer powder stuff. :)

I'll second the Laura Mercier. Also really like Stila's tinted moisturizer.

another fan of the laura mercier! although they stopped making the porcelain shade for a while, which was annoying. the nude is way too orange-y for really fair skin.
i also like sonia kashuk's tinted moisturizer at target! i don't use foundation... so sometimes i will save the laura mercier for special occasions... and use the target moisturizer for everyday use.

I have worn Lancome for years but they have just discontinued that line. I'm actually looking for a new product to get addicted to. I think I'll give Laura Mercier a try. I tried Stila and didn't like it, it wasn't liquidy enough and didn't go on a smooth. I was also thinking of trying the Dior line. Does anyone have any experience with that?

I love my tinted moisturizer. Foundation is too heavy for me. I'm a light make up kind of girl. I use Mary Kay.

I used Neutrogena for a couple years and really liked it. Then switched to Sonia Kashuk and really liked it as well. For the last year I've used Aveda and have liked it better than the others but a month ago started using the new tinted moisturizer by Arbonne and love it.

I like Kiehl's tinted moisturizer, but I'm not a liquid foundation person so that concept in general is not my favorite. But sometimes on the weekend, I will just throw that on w/ some mascara and call it good. It is also SPF either 15 or 20.

I've used tinted moisturizers by Laura Mercier and Prescriptives ("Traceless"). I love them both!
I wear Estee Lauder tinted moisturizer constantly in summer - it suits my skin tone and is SPF15.

I bought some bronzing powder and SPF45 moisturizer from a local salon. I mix a little of the bronzing powder with the SPF 45 moisturizer, in the lid of the powder, and then I use an application brush to apply it to my face. That works really well. I can also control how dark/light I want to go by using more/less of the bronzing powder.

I use Sephora tinted moisturizer (http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P101301&categoryId=B70). I used to use Bobbi Brown, but I like the Sephora brand just as well and it's half the price!

I recently started using Dermologica SPF 15 tinted moisturizer. I really like it. The color is very subtle and the moisturizer is not greasy at all, which is a huge problem for me. I've tried everything and even the stuff that is marketed as oil-free or non-greasy still is on me. I couldn't be happier with the Dermologica product--except if it was a larger container, that would make me happier ;)

I'm normally not a fan of CoverGirl products, but their Advanced Radiance Sheer Makeup works very well (and is very affordable).

I make my own--a regular amount of untinted moisturizer and a bit of foundation (I use Dove and Clinque, respectively). Mix in my hand and apply--voila! This is my latest discovery and it is great for evening out my skin, and not looking like I'm actually wearing make up. :)

I just bought Lorac ProtecTINT. I'm still trying to figure out if I need to use it in combination with another moisturizer (since I don't wear foundation all over my face), but I like the way it feels and the very sheer coverage.

Bumping this up because I really like the Lorac ProtecTINT I've been using, but I've been having a hard time with the moisturizer part of it. By itself, it doesn't moisturize quite enough for me, but when I use a little of my regular moisturizer under it, I end up greasy. Does this happen to anyone else?

Great tip! I didn't even know Sephora had a tinted moisturizer. I'll definitely be checking it out.

I do the same when I want light coverage. I mix a small amount of my Bare Minerals foundation in w/my moisturizer (right now Oil of Olay Sensitive Skin or SPF 15). That way I can control how much color is in the moisturizer. It works really well for when I don't want to wear foundation.

I use Becca Tinted Moisturizer with a bit of powder and concealer underneath at times. It's amazing stuff.
I have used both her highlighter (in Topaz) and the tinted moisturizer (in Nut). It makes my skin look so good - yet totally natural.
I've been meaning to try mixing mineral foundation with moisturizer, but I love how the Becca stuff works so no need now.

I read this thread yesterday looking for suggestions - I've been wearing Bare Escentuals but I'm finding it's accentuating the pores on my forehead and nose. I have used the Laura Mercier product before but I didn't really like it - too greasy for me. I bought the Neutrogena Healthy Enhancer mentioned in a post way back on page 2 and it's fabulous - and for $11, you really can't go wrong! Plus I live in a climate that's super dry but with oily skin and so far, I see no oil (usually by 10am I'm slapping a toilet seat cover all over my face to mop up the oil).
