SURVEY INFORMATION - Here are the companies that have paid, along with the ones I do not use anymore because they don't. These are companies that I have actually received money from (via checks,Paypal, etc.) I'll update this as I get checks from new companies - I'm still waiting on a couple to add. If you know of any others, please do add them so that others can sign up!

Sometimes I update my sig and forget to come here to post. Check the link in my sig for the most updated list!

I also just added a site to find companies that do focus groups in your area at the bottom - another great way to make extra money. Let me know if you have any questions!

Miriam
mir322@aol.com

www.SurveySavvy.com
They usually pay 10-20 bucks a survey. There are some for less than that, but the surveys are pretty painless.

ETA: I was just reading some replies on the Nest about Survey Savvy and not getting paid on another board. I thought I wasn't getting paid either, but they actually put the money into your survey savvy account immediately. When you log in, click on "My Earnings" and then on "View Earnings" and you can request a payment of any amount that you've already earned. It takes about two weeks to get the check - I think they do it in batches.

I think I get paid when I refer people for SurveySavvy, but it's some small amount like $2 for every survey you complete. You can also refer your DH and get paid for every time HE completes a survey by doing a "Household Invitation".

NFO (aka www.mysurvey.com):
Another great one that uses points that you redeem. WIth this one, 1000 points=$10. The way it usually works is they'll give you a screener survey for 20-30 points and if you qualify, they'll ask you to continue on to a larger survey. These usually start from 300+ points. The points add up a bit more quickly than Lightspeed. I'll get 150 points if you PM me for a link. Otherwise, you can just join through the main site. Just an FYI - you'll get two surveys to start off - less than 5 minutes apiece. Only then will your account be activated. Be careful not to delete it as spam.

Lightspeed: www.lightspeedpanel.com
I get a couple of $10 checks here and there. The points accumulate to 1000=$10.

UPDATE 9/19/05: Just got this in an e-mail from them (an excerpt). Basically they say they'll offer more prizes and start requiring more points for GCs and cash.

"One change we need to point out to you, however, is that a 10% charge will be added to gift certificate orders and a 15% charge will be added to cash orders. (For example, you will need to redeem 1,100 points for a $10 gift certificate.) We hope that the hundreds of new prizes available to you and faster prize delivery will outweigh this charge. You can redeem any points you currently have or accumulate (in each case prior to December 1) for gift certificates or cash orders without the added charge."

Buzzback: www.buzzback.com
They pay no less than $5 a survey - they're infrequent, but I just received a check - 5 bux is 5 bux! Yay!

Survey Direct: www.surveydirect.com
Their surveys pay between $3 and $10 via Paypal.

PostMaster Direct
http://postmasterdirect.com/for_consumers.htm

This company owns Survey Direct, so I get surveys from both. Fill out the info and make sure to click the checkbox next to "Surveys" under "Top Lists" and "Consumer Lists." They pay between $2-$5 a survey, sometimes more, depending on what they're looking for. This is not strictly a survey company, so you will get a couple of e-mails of products that are offered (once every couple of months).

Harris Poll: http://www.harrispollonline.com/
Another infrequent one, but I just got my Blockbuster gift card in the mail 7/2/05 - so I'm happy :)

American Consumer Opinion: www.acop.com
I get paid 6 or 7 bucks for each survey.

Pinecone Research: www.pineconeresearch.com
Unfortunately, you can only join this one via invitation when the company asks its members to send them out, or in a banner link. The banners are really hard to find. But if you get in, each survey pays $5 and it's usually about 15 minutes. The checks arrive within a week.

Test Spin www.testspin.com
I've gotten paid between $2 and $8 for each survey. They pay you via Amazon Gift Certificates that they e-mail you. Payout is after $10. No referrals here. Just sign up on their main page.
Survey Spot www.surveyspot.com/joinus.htm
I got a check for $15 on 7/26/05. A lot of these surveys are for contests to win money, but I only do the ones that say, "You will be paid $5 to complete this survey." Otherwise, I just delete the others :)

Brand Institute www.brandinstitute.com
This is aimed more for people in the medical field, but I got a couple of surveys for a few dollars each. A friend said she got several for $15 apiece and recieved her payment via check. They do require you to provide your social security number in order to get paid.

www.Esearch.com I just got paid by them for a two-week diary (each day took less than 5 minutes). I got paid $25 via Paypal within a couple of weeks. That was the first survey I received from them (and the only one).

Harvard Business School http://www.hbs.edu/cler/
With this one, you actually have to check the site for studies. They don't send you an e-mail to let you know it's available. It was 15 minutes long and I got the $5 money order in the mail today (8/26/05).

Gozing www.gozing.com
This company pays you after about 2 months via Paypal, Napster, or Buy.com. I have them pay me with Paypal since I have no use for the Napster or Buy.com stuff - only cash for me :) Surveys from this site can pay from 50 cents and up - usually up to 3 or 4 bucks. There are a few out there for more. The downside to this site is that I've had to answer "qualifying" questions for 10 minutes, only to find out that I end up not qualifying after all that work. They're probably my least favorite site to deal with.

Opinionsite.com
They pay you after every survey. You don't accumulate anything. You complete a survey and they send you a check. Simple, if you ask me :) I think completed a 10 minute survey for $3 and it took about a month to receive the check.

Opinion Outpost www.opinionoutpost.com

This is a good one. You get points for each survey (30-40 points for each survey) and they don't last more than 10-15 minutes. 50 points=$5 and $5 is the cash out point. Points are usually credited to your account immediately after completion of the survey. The site is a bit corny...but, it works! :) Again, make sure you check your spam folder for surveys. You'll get a preliminary survey once you sign up (5 points).

E-Rewards www.erewards.com
You accumulate dollars based on e-mails you read and quick surveys they send you. I don't get more than a couple of things a week. It's really painless. You redeem the money in your account for airline miles, coupons from Hertz, Omaha Steaks, Blockbuster, and a bunch of other places. DH just redeemed his money for an Omaha Steaks certificate - the certificate was e-mailed to him with a unique code he enters upon checkout. The only way to get into e-rewards is to go to the site and sign up under one of the sponsors saying you're interested. They'll send you an e-mail about a week later telling you how to join. I think they accept everyone though.

Resonance Research: http://www.resonanceresearch.net/cgi-bin/surveyinvite/signup.pl?panel=1

This site has only sent me one survey so far. But it just paid me $50 for 25 minutes of my time! You can request payment through PayPal or a check.

Your 2 Cents: http://www.your2cents.com
This site has a payout of $5. Payment is via check. They pay between $1-$5 a survey. If you don't qualify for the survey, they'll at least enter you into a drawing or pay you a small amount (10 or 20 cents - woohoo!).

I would not pay to join a site. This isn't a way to make a great amount of money, but I'll take what I can get!

Greenfield and Vividence are the ones I don't do anymore - they don't pay up. I don't really do others. The ones I told you about are the ones I do because they actually pay you, rather than just enter you into sweepstakes.

Focus Groups! Go to http://marketsdirectory.com/visits/1q05USmktsi.htm to find companies in your area that do focus groups. They usually compensate well. I've gotten no less than $75-$100 for two hours of my time. DH or I will get a call every month or so asking us to come in for a study. Be forewarned though - some of these companies don't have panelists - they're more client based. So if you call them up, you may just want to ask if they have a database of panelists in which they recruit for studies. If they say no, then you know they don't call people like us for their research. Otherwise, they may send you out an application to fill out or ask you questions over the phone. Some companies are rude if they're asked if they have a database of panelists- don't take it to heart :) Just move along to the next company.

I'd like to suggest Plaza Research (http://www.plazaresearch.com). I signed up with them online quite some time ago, and get called in every once in a while for focus groups. In fact, my next one is on Tuesday and I'm getting $150 for participating!!

Thanks for recommending Plaza Research. Once you go to the site, click on "recruiting zipcodes" on the left side of the screen - They're currently recruiting people in the following cities (certain zip codes for each city):

Metro New York
Chicago
Los Angeles
Dallas
Atlanta
Metro Philadelphia
Denver
San Francisco
Houston
Ft. Lauderdale
Phoenix
Tampa
San Diego

I use several of these.

I agree about gozing; I signed up with them and get a ton of emails that ask me a few questions and then tell me I don't qualify to take the survey. Waste of time!

This is GREAT!!

Does anyone know if we have to report this income on taxes?

I signed up at Pinecone, but I bet I won't get accepted--my DH works at a supermarket, and there was a question about it.

Oh well, off to join some more!!

Thanks for this great thread!!!

mir322

MidwesternGal,

Technically, you do have to report the income because it's just that - income. NFO will ask for your SSN if you earn more than $600 to report to the IRS. But I doubt the others send you the 1099. This is my first year doing the survey thing...we'll see what I get in the mail come January!

Miriam :)

MidwesternGal
07-06-2005, 06:43 PM
Just so I'm clear:

I have to report if they send me the 1099, but don't have to if they don't/I didn't make over $600 from them.. . . did I catch that right?

Thanks!

mir322
07-06-2005, 06:54 PM
You always *have* to report income - whether you get a 1099 or not. However, some people choose not to report it if they don't get the 1099. If a company sends you a 1099, they're telling you they've reported the income to the IRS and that the IRS is expecting you to report it. But, if you don't get the 1099, nothing's been reported and it's up to your conscious to decide if you want to tell the IRS to tax you on it :) Sorry if I confused you earlier - I hope I cleared it up now!

Miriam :)

Thanks so much for this info. I just signed up for some of these.

thedoorchick
07-06-2005, 08:38 PM
Yes, whether or not income is taxable doesn't have anything to do with whether you receive a 1099.

If you earn over $600 from one source, they will send you one (they are required by law to send one, at any rate) but you are to report the income regardless.

Thanks for posting this! I joined several more panels plus signed up for some with some focus group companies. I did want to say that although Greenfield Panel was listed as a non-payer, I have participated in many surveys for them, several of them paid. I got the money through Paypal about 6 weeks after the study each time.

Another survey company that's worth trying is E-rewards (www.e-rewards.com). They pay through "points" that are redeemable at certain retailers. I use mine to get free Blockbuster rentals.

Thanks for this! I signed up for some of them.

It's not a survey, but you visit websites and you collect points to get rewards...mypoints.com. In the past few years we've gotten gift cards to restaurants, book stores, Target, etc.

I do surveys through www.opinionplace.com & earn airline miles toward my American Airlines mileage account. You are eligible to do a new survey every 2 weeks, & the minimum amount of mileage you can earn for a survey is 150, I think. I believe the max is 300.

Just wanted to let everyone know that www.gozing.com does indeed pay the promised amount to their members! It just takes them awhile (like 8-10 weeks) I just got three payments in a row from them; one for 50 cents, one for $2.00 and one for $5.00, deposited directly into my Paypal account. Of course, I promptly spent it on stuff from ebay..... :o

I just wanted to come back & post that I signed up to do surveys for several of the websites that mir322 mentioned in her original post. So far the only one who has paid me is Pinecone Research, but in about a month & a half I've made $15 from them! Some of the other survey companies send me emails to do screenings pretty frequently, but a lot of times I don't qualify for the surveys. Oh well. :p

Survey Direct is one that I'm confused about though...I have completed at least 2 surveys with them that I *thought* I was supposed to get paid for (through PayPal)...but so far I have not received any payments. I went back to their website to see if there is a place I can login to my account to view my earnings or something, but I can't figure out how to do that. :( Oh well, the 2 surveys I did for them so far were only supposed to pay $2 & $3 respectively anyway, so no biggie.

I don't know why, but I kinda like doing online surveys, whether I get paid or not. :D

mir322
08-24-2005, 05:02 PM
Survey Direct takes *forever* to pay. It really does take about 8 weeks. But it does come...usually I've forgotten about it by then and it comes as a surprise :)

I love Pinecone! I signed up for several of these sites that Miriam listed in her original post at the top of this thread, but Pinecone is the one that pays the most (& the most frequently). I do every survey they email me about, & I get $5 checks in the mail every couple of weeks. This week I actually got 2 checks!

I experience that with SurveySavvy a lot - I answer the first few questions & then they tell me I don't meet their requirements to complete the rest of the survey. :( I haven't had that happen very much with Pinecone so far, though. *shrug*

Did anyone take the Norelco survey this morning for Ciao/Greenfield? It was such an annoying survey, it took forever and it crashed on me twice. I am supposed to get $1.20 for that long survey!
No, but I did a survey over the weekend for Lightspeed that took FOREVER & finally bumped me out entirely & wanted me to start over. No thanks - I sent an email to the person listed for technical problems with the surveys. I was very annoyed, after spending so long trying to get through it. It just kept getting stuck every time I'd click "continue" to go to the next question.

That is exactly like the Norelco survey I took. It would say, look at this picture and tell us what you see and there was never a picture and then it would crash, crazy.

Does anyone ever test out products for surveys. I have signed up for surveys and some companies have asked me to try their products and then you fill out a survey and they send you a check. So far, I have tested baby wipes, 2 kinds of baby shampoo, granola bars, and salt scrub from Bath & Body works (that was my favorite). I wish I could do more of this but I have no idea if there are places to sign up to test products, anyone know if there is?

Some of the surveys where I don't get paid, I actually enjoy taking like the magazine surveys. They will show you a magazine cover and ask you if you like the celebrity on it. I think those kind are pretty fun even though I don't get paid on them.

I just wanted to post a warning that some surveys are scams.
Never pay a fee to take any!

If you want to check out the ones you do, go to:

ripoffreport.com

or just type "surveys" in the search box

Fortunately I did a little research on one I was going to sign up for and found out it was a scam.

Several of the surveys I've completed have asked me if I'd be willing to test out the product if they were to send it to me, & I always say yes, but so far only one product has been sent to me to test. But then, I've only been signed up for these surveys for a couple of months now...

I did my first focus group last night - $75! It was interesting, so I hope I can do more of them. I also got an energy bar in the mail last week and did a survey about that.

How are you notified that they are sending you products?

I've done lots of surveys but I never get to try the products.Usually at the end of a survey it'll say that the manufacturer *might* be interested in sending a product to you to test & report back, & it asks if you'd be willing to do this. I always say yes. Then, sometimes a few weeks later, suddenly something shows up in the mail with instructions for you to try it out & then go back for a follow-up survey online.

At least that's been my experience so far.

I got a $6 cashier's check in the mail the other day that totally confused me...I could NOT figure out who it was from at first! The guy's name on the envelope return address wasn't familiar, & it was from somewhere in MA. The cashier's check was totally blank, except for the amount (no to or from names, etc.) Finally I looked closer at the return address & saw that it said HBS...which I figured out is Harvard Business School. Totally forgot I did a survey for them a couple of months ago!

But I'm not complaining about people sending me money...I'll take it! :D

great thread! I signed up with a few I wasn't already signed up for.

I didn't see this one on the list though - viewpoint forum. (www.viewpointforum.com) You get points for surveys and then redeem for cash. Points for referrals too!

emschwar, I read this on the Viewpoint Forum website:

We are no longer accepting registrations without a referral. You must be referred by an existing member or receive a special invitation from Viewpoint Forum or one of our affiliates.

Can I refer a friend to participate in Viewpoint Forum?

Yes! We have recently started a Refer A Friend program. You can make referrals by logging in with your username and password. On your Personal Member Page is a ‘Refer A Friend' button. Click this and you can refer as many people as you like. We will give you 100 points each for the first 5 referrals who register and complete their first survey.

I'd take a referral if you'd like to give me one! Let me know - if so, I'll PM you my email address. ;)

Thank you for your interest in the Refer-A-Friend program.

I'll keep an eye out and let y'all know if they start allowing referrals again.

If there was no mention of pay at the end, where you input a Paypal address, then it wasn't a paid survey. They'll have those once in a while. Unless it tells you that they'll award you with $2 or whatever, then it's not a paid survey. HTH!

Does anyone else get TONS of communications surveys, like your opinions of Qwest vs. Comcast? OMG, I swear I get the exact same surveys at least once a week! I receive surveys on this subject (& about these 2 specific communications service providers) from more than one survey website, too. I've completed them several times, but now I'm getting to the point where as soon as I get far enough along in the survey to realize that's where it's headed, I cancel out of it & don't finish.

It's really annoying that they keep sending me the same surveys over & over again week after week. My opinions aren't changing - I like Qwest for my home phone service & Comcast for tv cable & internet cable. Deal with it & leave me alone, please! :p

I think Vividence is now Keynote Research Panel. I did a Google search for "vivdence" and that was the first hit. It looks like you download a program to your computer and then you evaluate websites (30-45 min). It says you get a "reward" at the end but I'm not sure what that is. I'm going to sign up so I'll post back after I complete an evaluation.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'm a member of InboxDollars. Basically I signed up because my sister signed up and she got $5 if I did as well. :) Basically how it works is they send you emails (maybe 3 or so a week) and you open an email and click on the link for some random offer that you probably don't want (free credit report or other random stuff). If you sign up for the offer you get more money (a few dollars) but you can also just click a link on the bottom of the page that says "click to confirm reading this email". You don't even really have to read it you could just open it and click it. You only get a few cents for each email but it literally takes NO time at all.

They also have surveys that you can access through their website, you can take 1/day and it looks like you get $1 per survey. I didn't even know these existed until today though so I just did one (about airline travel) and it took about 5 minutes or less. There's also just long lists of "offers" you can sign up for to earn money. Most are junk but there's a link to Blockbuster online where you can earn $15 for signing up through the link. There's also links to many of the survey companies listed in this thread (SurveySpot, Lightspeed, etc) and you can earn 50 cents or so for signing up for those through their links.

You get $5 for signing up and so far I've only accumulated $6.07 after several months (of only clicking on occasional emails, sometimes I just delete them).

But you can't cash out until you've accumulated $30 so that's definitely something to keep in mind. Although if you can get friends to sign up you could earn that pretty quickly.

SurveyClub likes to get people to sign up because referrals is where money is made. They don't really send out too many surveys, which is why I have not joined.

As far as Panda Research goes, they send out more spam than anything else. I hear far more negative things than good things.

You get a ton of e-mails (if you sign up, get a separate e-mail address) - you click on each e-mail and they credit your account a couple of cents. My feeling is that people really like to push it for the referrals - you get $5 for each person that signs up under you. I haven't signed up with it though - sounds shady.

ETA: I do know that they pay out though - I just don't like that the money made off of it is mostly off of referrals. To each their own :)

I agree with mir322 about InboxDollars. Most money comes from referrals and a little bit comes from clicking on the emails they send you. Basically the only reason I've continued in the program is because the emails literally take 10 seconds to do and I figure eventually I'll get $30 and it'll be worth it.

They have surveys as well. When you log in click on "cash surveys" on the left. You can do 1 per day and you get $1 for each one. Sometimes you won't qualify though. They don't send you emails for those; you have to actually go to the website and click on the link.

I've also clicked on "cash offers" to sign up for some other surveys sites and saw the money credited for those right away (like $1 or 50 cents depending on the site). I haven't done any of the other links.

I just got my first survey from PineCone. I didn't even know they accepted me until I got it. I used the advice mir322 gave on her bio on another site and looked through a thread on yet another message board.

Pinecone Research: www.pineconeresearch.com (Do product testing)
My favorite survey company. Unfortunately, you can only join via invitation when the company asks its members to send them out, or in a banner link. The banners are really hard to find. But if you get in, each survey pays $5 and it's usually about 15 minutes long. The checks arrive within a week. Here's a link to the thread on SlickDeals that will update if there's a new one out there.

It did work though and I completed my first survey. Thanks so much for the advice. I've really been wanting to sign up through them. I think they're like the holy grail of survey companies.

Hope that helps.

Got my first check from PineCone today. I completed the survey on 8/28 and got it today (9/2). I'm hoping I get to test the product mentioned in the survey too. It's actually something I'd be really interested in trying.

Also started mystery shopping today. I did two shops- a fast food place and a retail store. I was really nervous that I wouldn't remember everything I was supposed to look for or they'd figure out who I was. Both went pretty well though, I think next time it'll be even easier. I did both of these shops through Shop'n Chek (https://www.shopnchekshopper.com/XP2/). They're cool because when you sign on to the website (after you're approved) you see a listing of all the shops and you pick out which ones you want to do. You don't have to wait to be assigned shops.

I'm also signed up for Trendsource (http://www.trendsource.com/) but I haven't gotten picked for any shops yet. They email you when one is available in your area and then pick someone. I've only responded that I could do 1 out of about 4 emails (sometimes they're kind of far away, I'm not going to drive 19 miles to make $10).

So today I made $20.50 and got some free stuff. Cool.

I have to say again that I am less than impressed with www.opinionoutpost.com In the past 2 months, I have received 16 surverys and "qualified" for exactly 1. It's really annoying to go through the pre-screening questions, some of which take up to 10 minutes, only to be told you don't qualify.

OR, I could just put a list of the sites and just say in the post to check my sig. link for info on each company? I would update the list, of course. Whatever you all think will be better for the forum, I'll do :) Either way, people will have access to the descriptions, but at least this way, the list here will always be updated.

What about a new thread? That way you could save the first few posts for the list.

Maybe start adding them to your 2nd post (since you have the 1st & 2nd posts in this thread)? It's not that hard to click the link in your signature either though.

i agree!! you should keep it in the thread :)

Anyone know an update on the Pinecone link? It seems to be inactive everywhere - does that mean they're not accepting new members?

Thanks!

I so want to get into Pinecone.

Right now, I have really good luck for actual cash with Myview (paypal), ithink.inc (check), Buzzback (checks), and Baker St Solutions (paid with Amazon Gift cards).

I do a variety of ones that you earn points and can then redeem as well - but I find that those are crappy sort of stuff - but I'm gonna have one hell of a magazine subscription list. :o

I tried to get into pinecone a long time ago & wasn't accepted so I tried again. I've been doing surveys for a long time but none that pay regularly. I was thinking about this and wondering why I wasn't seeing an ad, so I tried through DH's laptop and lo & behold, the Pinecone ad popped up after 3-4 refreshes. On my laptop, there were no ads at all. Weird. Must be some setting I have. Anyway, I was glad to see the ad!

I also recently applied for MyView, but haven't qualified for any surveys yet.

I've been completing NFO (http://www.mysurvey.com/) surveys for years. They just added a new feature that you can download to your PC and you'll get instant notification when there's a survey. They offer raffle tickets, donations to charities, or prizes (some of which are gift cards and sometimes $$).

Do both of those pay each survey or only certain ones? I would rather not sign up for loads of surveys only to delete the ones that don't pay, KWIM? Like SurveySpot, most of those are just for entries into a drawing. Blech! I toss them. Only a couple a month are paid & then after doing pretty much the whole survey, they tell me I don't qualify for the $.

I think whether you get fees deducted would depend on what kind of PP acct you have. If you take credit cards on your pp acct, they take fees out of every payment you receive on that acct.

I delete any that aren't for cash. Myview has tons of $1-$3 ones. It lets me know pretty quick if I don't qualify. They may send out a few that aren't for payment, but I just delete them if they do (I get tons everyday, so I can't say for sure that they do or don't). With Buzzback, I can say that they are cash only, I've never had one that isn't. I usually get a check or two a month from them. They don't have a ton of surveys but you don't get disqualified after answering 20 minutes worth of questions, ala surveyspot. ;)

I've only done one survey through Baker St Solutions so far, but I got paid with a $10 Amazon gift card right away. :)

I just did a survey for Pinecone today and one of the final questions was something like 'the manufacturer would be interested in sending you products to test, would you agree to it'. I clicked yes, but it never said anything about it again. I'm guessing something will just show up.

Not always. If you say you'll test it, they put you in the pool of people who said they'd test it, and then they choose from there. Sometimes something shows up, sometimes it doesn't.

It's awesome if you get chosen to try something though, because you get $5 for the first survey, $5 for trying the product and $5 for the follow up survey!

Back when this thread first started I mentioned doing surveys on www.opinionplace.com to earn airline miles on American Airlines. I just found out that now they give the option to select payment via PayPal instead of airline miles, so I thought I'd come back here to post that update. :) I've done surveys for Opinion Place for several years now. The thing I don't like about it though, is that they don't email you when there are surveys available so you have to remember to go check the website every now & then. Also, you can only do surveys every 14 days. But hey, I just did a quick one & earned $2.25 via PayPal, so I'm not complaining... ;)

framboise
07-12-2007, 03:28 PM
I recently got an email through my frequent flyer program to join e-miles (http://www.e-miles.com/home.do). You can earn miles by answering REALLY short surveys (like 5 - 10 questions) or by signing up for the offers they're promoting. The miles can be used on Northwest, Continental, US Air or Delta. I have about 400 miles earned over the last maybe 2 months for very little effort. I do some other surveys from $$ as well using other sites, but I like this one because we travel on Northwest frequently so every little bit of extra mileage comes in handy!

Chris~n~Jen
07-12-2007, 07:30 PM
framboise ~ this might be a silly quesion, but do you already have to be part of a frequent flyer program? I'm not part of a program but would love to earn points towards my yearly flights to visit my parents. Again, it might be a silly quesion but I really only fly once a year and am not familiar with how these programs work. :o

framboise
07-13-2007, 11:27 AM
Chris~n~Jen, not a stupid question at all! You do need to have a frequent flyer account with one of those airlines in order to have somewhere to put the miles you earn. You have to designate which airline you want to deposit your earned miles into, but it can be any of the 4 I mentioned above. All 4 of these programs are free to join (just call their customer service number or possibly even apply online), have pretty much lifelong membership and anytime you travel on any of those airlines you get miles in the program you're enrolled in.

Do you typically use any of those airlines when you fly to visit your parents? For us, Northwest really comes in handy because the vast majority of both of our families live in MN / WI / ND and Minneapolis - St. Paul is Northwest's hub so we fly them a lot. We have also traveled to other places on Delta & Continental & added to our Northwest mileage that way. Even if you only fly on that one trip (and especially if you add to it with e-miles), a frequent flyer account could help you get a free trip eventually!

HTH!

-Nicole

I've gotten PP too. It depends upon the survey though. The most recent one (that I got $25 for) they didn't give the option, it came as Amazon GCs.

Thanks for the feedback, guess it just depends on the survey as both of mine have been for Amazon.

In funny news (the e-mail was struck me as funny for some reason), Pinecone gave me a raise :p. I just got an e-mail that they increased compensation a dollar per survey.

I just got that too. Hey, it's not like I was getting rich off of them in the first place, although I was thinking of quitting my day job to wait for their surveys. :p

Yep, I got this e-mail this morning as well. Yippee for a raise! Wonder why they are doing that? Seems there are plenty of people willing to do the surveys for the original amount of money. Kinda weird.

Well it used to be $5/survey (before I joined) so maybe they did get some complaints.

I got a "raise" too! I was pleased to read that, but it's not like I'm making a living off of Pinecone so it's only marginally exciting, haha. :p

I feel left out. I didn't get a raise from Pinecone. :(

I got a raise too. :) Now if only they'd send some more surveys, seems like I haven't gotten any from them lately. Hopefully, they're not being filtered to spam.

I didn't get a raise either! And I haven't gotten a survey from Pinecone in probably 3 or 4 weeks. :(

I got the raise email today as well. They may have increased it since some that signed up don't answer the surveys.

I got a raise, too! :)

Has anyone ever gotten paid from i.think inc? I actually qualified for and completed a $2 survey, but it's still listed as processing in my account. How does the money come?

i.think I did an interactive study for them and was paid $25. I received a check from them about 4 weeks later.
