Any do-it-yourselfers out there ever use grommets?
I just finished designing my save-the-dates, but it's 6 total pages, and I want to use something unique to put it all together.
For example ...

So, I was just wondering ... is it easy? Inexpensive? And how does one do it?
Thanks!! :D

I haven't done them in paper, but in fabric.
They come in a little kit at fabric and notion places. I did not find it hard to do, as they come with instructions and all the tools needed. All I needed extra was a hammer.

They are actually called eyelets when you use them on paper. You can buy them at any craft store like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Archivers or Joanns.
Something like this:

I don't use eyelets that much in my scrapbooking, so perhaps someone else can give you more complete instructions, but they aren't hard to use.

I've used eyelets in scrapbooking and it really isn't that hard! Just punch a small hole (smaller than the eyelet) - if you buy the kit, all this comes with it. Then put the eyelet in teh hole, use the punch tool and hammer and just tap it until the underside folds out like a flower. It's very simple. If you go to a scrapbooking store to get a kit I'm sure the employees can show you how it's done.

OH I LOVE EYELETS!!:D
I think they're such a cool way to tie everything together!
I'm an avid scrapbooker, and like everyone else has already said- they're super easy, and pretty inexpensive!
I have both the hammer set and the silent setter and I would recommend the silent setter. It's a load quieter, and it's so easy! I would also suggest getting "softer" eyelets, so you wont have to push so hard when you get them through the paper and need to push down the other side.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me, and I'll be glad to give you some more detailed instructions.
You can find the setter at any craft store. The one I have is by Making Memories. You can usually find a coupon in the mail/paper for 25%-60% off, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that :)
Good luck- and like I said, don't hesitate to PM me with any questions! :)

Thank you, everyone!! After reading your posts, I bought an eyelet kit and some cute eyelets. Unfortunately, the ones I got were too small, so I'm going to go back and get some bigger (i.e., thicker) ones. But the sample that I did turned out really cute.
Perfect! :D
