Amazing Race Auditions?

Has anyone auditioned for Amazing Race or has thought about it? I really want to challenge myself to lose weight so I can audition (not that its a requirement... i would just need to be more fit to travel around the world). I wonder how many months you'd need to take off from work.

If you were to audition, who would you want as your teammate? I would kill my boyfriend, so I'm thinking about my roommate going.

I've actually thought about this quite a bit. I would love to be on TAR. I think my husband and I would end up killing each other and that doesn't make for very good tv. He is just too competetive and would drive me bonkers. I think my best friend and I would make a good team, but she would have to learn how to drive stick. The teams that don't bother to do that drive me craaaaazy.

See, I've thought about this too much. I hope the show stays on for a long time so that I can actually try for it someday.

I have auditioned twice. Once with my DH and the other time with my 3 sisters (for the family version that is taping right now!). Both times we thought we had great audition tapes, a witty application and great photos. Then we wait for a phone call and nothing happened. Ugh!

I don't want to torment myself anymore so I'm not going to send in any more tapes.

Try to go audition in person, they select almost everyone that way. We tried out in LA and got to the second round but were rejected because they had already cast an engaged couple. All female teams are much more likely to be selected than all male or couple teams. You also need to come up with a theme for yourself and play it up as much as possible.

Did you see the ad for auditions tomorrow in Orlando? Sorry, I don't remember when or where, but I know that they are going to have them.
