Has anyone tried them? I've tried the Pantene brand for brunettes as well as a salon brand and both of them make my scalp super flaky. I've never had this problem with any other shampoo. Is there a special way to use these things? I've switched back to my normal shampoo and now the problem is gone but my highlights are already fading and I'd like to start using them again to put some color back. Any advice?

Pantene in general is bad for your hair, it leaves a waxy build up that eventually will make your hair break. I loved it but then my sylist stripped all the wax out and the build up in the sink was gross.

I used to use John Frieda's Blonde and loved it, but now that my hair is darker, I haven't tried anything else. Do you use regular shampoo or do you use shampoo for color treated hair?

I picked up some of Frieda's Brilliant Brunette when I was out of town and without my Aveda, and haven't put it down since. I LOVE it.

It's important to note also that the Frieda products (I don't know about Pantene's) don't actually deposit any color, they apparently just contain ingredients that enhance your color (whether natural or color-treated). This was a big plus for me b/c I hate it when the color-depositing stuff gets all over towels.

Two thumbs up from me.

I use the Brilliant Brunnette off and on and I love it.
