Mrs Jackson, I'm so sorry, I had such high hopes for you!

Awww...thanks. I think that DH is taking this one harder than I am though. He was truly upset this morning when I told him that I had started my period. Poor guy.

MrsJackson05 Sorry your cycles are so screwy. Mine are irregular and I hate never knowing when to expect O.

I can't figure my body out. I also can't believe that FF is giving a 30 day stretch to wait for AF to show this cycle. I can't wait until I get under some structure here. It's driving me batty!

Several studies have found that the peak day for conception is actually two days before O!

Lizard and I are both in the July Mommies thread, and both of us had our last BD session 2 days before O... The proof truly is in the pudding (or the 'positive' as it may be).

Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated today. CC will not let me log out and back in with the charting userid and password. I've even disabled my cookies too!! Polkadot's grandfather in law passed away last night so I don't think she's going to be around tonight. I will keep trying to update but I'm new and obviously goofy because it ain't working;)
I promise I will get them all done.
I am 4dpo today and am doing really good with not flipping out about fps this cycle. I have TONS of tests in my house but will not test until Xmas Eve. Believe me it is soo hard not to look at a test right now, even though it is soo early. I pass the linen closet and they are calling my name.

The proof truly is in the pudding (or the 'positive' as it may be).Another July Momma who conceived 0-2. That was the only time we BDed during the fertile time. I saw somewhere that there are cillia in the fallopian tube that sort of prepares the spermies for the egg so when they sit there for a couple of days they get nice and prepped.

Happy rainy Saturday to everyone!

polkadot I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I know it's hard so close to Christmas. :( And it was a great idea to keep B occupied with his gift (and an awesome gift at that!).

ABirney Hope your AF's stay is short!

Soulmate, Lizard, mzvh Thanks for the encouragement from the O -2 BFPers! :D

Continued good wishes to all of you in the 2WW. Dotsie resist those tests!! Who am I kidding. I went through 8 Dollar store tests lasts cycle starting at 6 dpo. :rolleyes:

Got the first HIGH reading for this cycle on the fertility monitor this morning. DH get's so excited about it. I'm just glad he doesn't feel like it's a chore, but I think that may change in a few cycles. Last cycle we got 8 HIGH readings before our 2 PEAK readings. I was so tired that we didn't BD from O-3 until actual O. Hopefully that won't happen this cycle since it's not supposed to give you more than 5 HIGHS after the first month.

And a question for you ladies.... BD every day or EOD?

This morning's temp went back to normal, but it's funny that it was so high yesterday. It was the same time, I had gone to bed at the same time the night before, nothing had really changed. I guess it's one of life's little mysteries.
Polkadot I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, but I think it's really nice to include the name of a past loved one in a new loved one.

I have a question for all the pros in here. :) Today is 9DPO and I had red EWCM today. Is that a normal sign of implantation? I know that around implantation you may have spotting, but what about the long strand of EWCM that I saw this morning? (TMI, sorry!) Any thoughts? FF's website is down so I can't update my chart, but my temp was back up to 97.5 today and I had a dip yesterday of 97.1, below my coverline of 97.4.

Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
polkadot ~ I'm so sorry to hear about your DH's grandfather. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
Aletheia
12-17-2005, 10:33 AM
catlover- Woohoo! That sounds ever so promising. I don't know that EW has anything to do with implantation, but it is not uncommon to get a little fertile cm in the middle of any lp-- I often do. But a dip followed by spotting... good news, I think. How long is your LP usu.?
Polkadot - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather-in-law.
Well yesterday's OPK was negative, but still no temp rise. Hmmm ... I guess I'm just going to keep bd-ing until I get one. Sigh ... I'm tired of bd-ing ... is anyone else?
Well, ladies CD 3. This is the worst AF I've ever had. Very heavy flow and very very bad cramps.
Maybe this is the old hag's way of letting me know I shouldn't get my hopes up too high just because I have a nice looking chart. :rolleyes:
Good luck, cat_loverpq.....looking good, girl!
Hi ladies!
catlover crossing all crossables! Sounds good!
ausi2b yay for the + OPK!! Catch that egg!
MrsJackson sorry to hear AF is being so awful this month.
MichelleRenee hopefully the witch will stay away!
Nothing new here. CD5 (Yay to be in the single digits!!) and AF is still here... I'm sure she'll be around for a while being my cycle was so long. We're going to my SIL's to celebrate Christmas today so I'd better get busy and ready to go! Have a great weekend!
12-18-2005, 02:28 PM
I just went to enter my temp for the day and a few other things and surprise! It gave me crosshairs- Yay for that, but it's putting my O on day 9, which doesn't seem too likely to me. Last month it was day 28. And we didn't BD that early so I guess we missed this month too. My mom might kill me if we do get pregnant this month, anyway! My SIL, my nephew and I all have birthdays within one week of each other.
Dotsie
Catlover ~ We have a secondary estrogen surge between 7-10 dpo that could cause the ew like cm. The blood in it is a very good sign...good luck!!
Michelle ~ Hopefully it isn't AF and it's the baby making room for itself in your uterus. Good Luck!!
Mrs Jackson ~ Sorry AF is so heavy this month. My best friend got pg after the heaviest AF of her life. Hopefully the same will happen to you.
ausi ~ yay on the + opk. Get to bd'ing :D
I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I am 6dpo and it's really getting to me. I woke up around the normal time I temp and I broke down and temped. It was the highest I have ever had...ever. It was 98.5 I am healthy, the heat wasn't really hot and I was in normal pj's...hmm. When I brushed my teeth this morning I started gagging in the worst way. The only time that has happened to me was when I was pg with Aidan. I also started having cramps around 2 this afternoon. It's too early for RPS's right?
Hi ladies! About 9 or 10 DPO here and no clue what's going on. I've had brown spotting each of the last 3 days, just once, in the morning. Sticky or creamy CM each day. High temps continuing. Today I was short on patience all day, which is usually the first sign of PMS for me. So I'm a little disappointed and hoping that it's not really AF on her way. I'm going to test on Tuesday if AF hasn't shown by then, and then again on Friday if I need to.
Polkadot, hugs to you and your DH. I think it's great you'll name a baby after his GF. My family does that, too.
Kristie, enjoy all the BDing! My DH said he hated feeling like he had to perform on command, but he never complained once we got started! ;)
Mrs Jackson, I hope the witch leaves you soon!
Michelle, double phooey. I'm sorry.
Dotsie, I had that same temp today, also my highest ever. Let's hope it's good signs for us!
Sorry no more replies... DH and I are cooking together tonight, a new recipe, and I'm off to make sure he doesn't destroy my kitchen! :p
Thanks, ladies for the words of encouragement. I think she's getting ready to pack up her bags and head out, so I'm happy.
My cramps are subsiding, and I'm very glad about that. I've never had cramps that have made me sick to my stomach before. I guess there's a first for everything. :rolleyes:
I actually didn't temp today. I don't think it's really necessary to do so while AF is here. Do any of you ladies temp while she is visiting?
MichelleRenee
12-18-2005, 05:58 PM
Thanks ABirney, Dotsie and gymwidow. I appreciate the encouragement.
I just don't know how to feel right now. Holding my nephew today made me want one of my own so bad, but I am so sure AF will be here tomorrow. I'm still spotting and I feel crampy. My temps never jumped this cycle like they did last month.
When we started TTC in September I had no idea how much of a struggle it would be to get PG. It's only been 3 months but it feels like it has been much longer than that. I guess I always thought that when we decided to TTC it would happen right away. I go through stages each month, like excitement, determination, anxiety, hopefulness and I am so sad every time it ends in disappointment!
Once again, I am now hoping AF will start so I can get on with cycle #4.
JayJay
12-18-2005, 06:13 PM
Michelle, I know exactly how you feel. It's very frustrating when things don't go the way that you thought they would.
In a million years I would have never imagined that I wouldn't get pregnant just because I wanted to. I thought that it would just happen. Well, I'm learning that it's not just happening.
This road is a lot harder to travel than I ever imagined.
Good luck to you, and I hope that AF stays away from you. She sure found me this month. :rolleyes:
I'll keep hoping for you! ;)
Michelle ~ Believe me I know exactly how you feel. We got pg our 2nd month trying with Aidan. This is our 4th cycle trying for #2. I am starting to get really scared that something might be wrong with either of us now. I am actually starting to research RE's in my area. Stay strong. I know how hard it is, but in the end it is soooo worth it. Good Luck!!
I'm doing a little experiment here. I took an opk a few days ago because I was worried about my O date etc. It was neg. The 2nd line was light. I took another opk tonight because I was reading on poas.com about opk's being indicators of being pg. My opk was a lot darker than the other day. It got me thinking.... I know we have a secondary estrogen surge around 7-10 dpo (I"m 6dpo right now) but is there LH in that surge? Hmmm...
Hey guys...
Just got back from my SIL's for Christmas so that was fun. Playing with my little niece (7 months old) really makes me aching for one of my own now! We got my MIL a Chicken Soup for the Grandmother's Soul book and she got all excited thinking it meant that we were pg and she was going to be a grandma again. (She knows we are trying.) Felt bad I had to disappoint her and say no, it was because we thought she'd like it being she has other grandkids.
Also I think AF is gone too for the most part... I had it light this am when I first got up but nothing since then. She does have a habit of going away for a day and then coming back for 1 more day so I'm not going to say she's gone for sure yet, but I'm getting excited that we can start looking for signs that my body will cooperate this time! Oh, and the cycle forcaster on Ovusoft shows that based on my past normal cycles, I will be fertile around New Years and if I get pg this cycle our due date will be our 2nd anniversary! What a great present that would be.
Anyway enough blabbing.
Sare yay for crosshairs!
Dotsie sounds promising! Crossing all crossables....
gymwidowHopefully that spotting is baby getting nice and settled in in there....
MrsJackson Glad to hear AF is leaving and your feeling better. Also I do keep temping during AF just to stay in the habit of it.
MichelleRenee bummer about the spotting... hoping she stays away!
CD7 here, and really ready to get this show on the road.
I have really irregular cycles. Is there anything I can do/take to try and get ovulation to happen more regularly? Like a fertility blend tea or something?
I'm just worried that now that I'm finally TTC I won't O until, like, CD30 or something. That would make me mad.
Michelle- Oh dear. :( I'm sorry! But at least she did come quick, like you wanted. I hope the next two weeks just race by for you.
mimieliza- I've heard good things about vitex. You'll want to research it quite a bit to figure out dosage, etc.-- but it apparently really helps women with irregular cycles. I forget- are you just of BCP? If so, give your body a chance first.
ABirney- A due date on your anniversary is so fun! I'll cross my crossables for you!
Dotsie- Hmmm... I don't know about that. Does peeonastick.com say anything about it?
Mrs.Jackson- I'm glad the horrendous cramps are beginning to let up. Mine are always bad, so I feel for you.
gymwidow- It's probably good to think AF is on her way. Better to be prepared for the 'worst', right?
Huge temp jump today! So I guess this means that I O'd yesterday. I'll wait to confirm testing days until I get my coverline. But I probably won't test until Dec. 31 - to see if I can ring in the New Year with champagne, or really amazing news :)
Sorry for not doing reply's to all.
I hate to be right sometimes. :rolleyes: Those PMS symptoms I had all day yesterday proved to definitely be PMS - AF arrived this morning. :( I honestly had expected it most of yesterday, so I did my crying last night and today just feel sad and confused. My last cycle was so wacky, with temps that definitely didn't show an O, but bloodwork that did, and now a possible too-short LP. Ugh. I have no idea what's going on. I emailed my RE already and hope to hear back from him soon with some answers and a plan of action.
I'll do SO's later after I get settled in at work.
Aletheia, polkadot, Mrs. Jackson, ABirney, Dotsie ~ Thanks for the words of encouragement. Unfortunately, I discovered later that day that the red was just AF showing up...6 days earlier than normal! DH and I agreed that we would try this last cycle and if it didn't happen we were going to wait until August to start trying again. This is due to several factors, none of which are bad, but the timing would just be better for us. I go back for more bloodwork today on my thyroid, so hopefully we can get that under control so I am having regular cycles by August. Oh, and we found out yesterday that 2 of DH's sisters are pg - due in April and July - so I'll have plenty of babies around to keep me occupied until it's my turn! :)
I think it's time for me to bow out of this thread. I may stop by from time to time, but it will be easier for me to make it to August if I don't have the constant reminder of everyone else's BFP. ;) Best of luck to everyone!!
Threadmistress, please remove my stats and my chart from this thread. Thanks!
Mrs Jackson, sorry you had such awful cramps. I hope that was a one-time thing. I usually still temp during AF out of habit, but often discard those temps as they tend to stay high until she leaves.
Michelle, I know how you feel. I'm looking forward to seeing my niece and nephew next week, but I also know it will be tough to be around them all day. My SIL wanted to get pg and bam! Both times was pg right away. I also feel a lot of anger and resentment towards my docs for taking so freakin' long to diagnose me and start treating me. I can't help but wonder what would have been had we started on Clomid back in August when we first realized something was wrong.
ABirney, that'd be a great way to celebrate your anniversary! Here's hoping.....
mimieliza, I don't know much about that sort of thing. Are you planning to use OPKs to help predict O?
Aletheia, yup, better to be prepared. I woke up on Saturday feeling a lot less hopeful than I had been all week. Maybe that was my intuition or something telling me. But I was pretty sure yesterday when I started being such a cranky witch to DH.
ausi2b, yay! I hope this is it for you! How was your BD timing this month?
cowgirl and Kristie, good luck catching that eggie!
So I've been reading some of these today, and I have some interesting info to pass along. Several studies have found that the peak day for conception is actually two days before O!
Sure hope this is true. So much for our BDing weekend. With all the running around and such, DH was just too tired. So with my temp rise I am sure that the only BD we got in was 2 days before O.
I don't know how you all do it! This is only my first cycle attempting to chart and it is driving me crazy. I've purposly not temped on some days just so as not to be thinking about it all day. DH & I had a little fight this weekend over this. He thinks I'm getting to obsessed and I know he feels a little "used". I think for now it's in the best intrest of my sanity and my marriage to stop charting. I may have jumped into the charting thing to early and we should really just see what happens the next couple of months. I've learned a lot from you girls and if after a few months we decide we need to start charting again, I'll be back to join you all.
aletheia - I'll have to look into Vitex. I've been off BCP for two years, so I know it's not that. My shortest cycle ever was 31 days, and my longest was 88 days (I've been keeping track of cycle length since coming off BCP). I've charted a few cycles here and there, and I always have signs of ovulation, so at least I know I do O - eventually.
gymwidow - I'm not planning on using OPK right away - I want to get more familiar with my cycle first. My cycles are so long and irregular that I would go through a lot of test strips to pinpoint O.
Threadmistress, I think I neglected to put some updates in red... I'm currently waiting to O, and my chart is here: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/b84ec . Thank you!
Thanks everyone. It is hard not to be disappointed, but at the same time I felt a little excited today. I don't know if it's because I am one cycle closer to a BFP or if it's because I get another chance to explore this charting thing. ( I am determined to take my temp at the same time every day this month, and I might try OPK's too ) Today I had the worst AF cramps I have had since before I was on BCP. It totally sucked. Of course all I could think was "if only I had gotten PG I wouldn't be going through this..." :rolleyes: Oh well. CD1 is almost over. It's the hardest day of the cycle for me.
So I think I really did O, at least according to the temps. My CM hasn't been doing much of anything so I have no idea from that. But we missed the boat on BDing on the right days, so I guess it's next cycle for us to try again.
We went to visit my SIL and 2.5 month old nephew today. She was telling me that if I don't focus on it, then I'll get pregnant, because that worked for her. They got pregnant the month after she went off the pill, and were very lucky. I don't think she realizes that we've been off BCP and trying for a while. I told her I was charting because I need to figure out my cycle. She told me that her nurse friend told her that O'ing takes place 14 days after the first day of your period, but I did have to explain to her that not everyone is the same, and that apparently last month O was day 28 and this month was day 9 for me. I love that it worked so well for them, but she didn't quite seem to get that *we* can't just do it on days 13 and 14 and get pregnant.
Sarah- i completly understand what you are saying....i know everyone is trying to help but....saying ** just relax it will happen** is the **worst** thing to say to someone TTC and its not working for them. I just wish they would say nothing or, just it will happen, i dont need to relax i dont wanna relax i wanna be a stressed out PG lady...;)
This thread is the best support i have gotten from anyone, including from my family. The only person in my fam who even somewhat understands is my g-ma and you would think that she would be old-school about it...but she totally understands me wanting to chart and trying to plan for it...she a great g-ma...:D
I hope this thread is a good place for you to vent your frustration and questions....
CC Name: roberta
Me: roberta, 27
DH: zak, 29
Married since: 11/15/03
Off BCP since: 10/05
TTC since: 10/05
Charting since: 12/05
Known issues/test results: Miscarried naturally @ 7 weeks 11/05
Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/10827a
Current status: waiting to O
I have my copy of TCOYF and I bought my thermometer today. I have been unoffically/semi charting since coming off BCP. It looks like my cycles are 32 days long so I should O on 12/26. Since we leave to visit our families 12/23 through 1/2 I don't think we will be able to sneak in quality BD time. Oh well, it goves me time to learn charting.
Sarah's comment from her SIL made me think of a question. Do your friends IRL know you're TTC?
I think my friends will figure it out. First of all, DH completely spilled the beans to a friend who is currently pregnant - he told her I was charting, and so on. Isn't that funny? He was so excited and proud. :) She had been singing the praises of TCOYF right after they got pg, so DH knew she'd know what charting involves.
Plus, I'm kind of a lush. :o So, it will be quite obvious when I don't drink during the 2WW. I hope it's not too anxiety-producing to have everyone asking, "Are you pregnant?" during that time. Maybe I'll pour myself a glass of wine to hold but let DH drink it instead. :)
Sorry if this question has been asked already!
ETA: Welcome Roberta! Hope you don't have to stay long!
polkadot - Ooohh! I need the Friends game! You'll have to let me know if it's too easy for a real Friends junkie. I'm hoping that Santa brings me Season 10 on DVD - I've been very good and have resisted buying it for myself.
mimieliza, my friends and family don't know. I think a few of my friends suspect but none have come right out and asked me. My DH and I are big wine nuts and I have passed up drinks at a few functions but at the same time if I'm before O I'll have a drink and I think that has them confused. I did tell my little sister over Thanksgiving b/c she is an OB/Gyn nurse and a good resource. We haven't told anyone else and won't until we're past the 1st trimester b/c my sister has had one miscarriage and hasn't been able to get pregnant since. Plus my IL's are obviously wanting grandchildren but they're pushing and constant questions are a stress we don't need. :p
Most people know that we are TTC. Joel's dad actually just got a vasectomy on Friday at 47 years old. He was really holding out for more kids. So now we have mentioned to his parents that we are working on grandkids for them.
My mom has been awesome, she totally understands trying to plan for it. A few friends know and I will tell anyone who will listen at work that we really want kids soon. But of course, we aren't the ones deciding when to get PG, are we? (Damn that Mother Nature!)
Do your friends IRL know you're TTC?
some do, some dont....its not soemthing we broadcast but if its comes up in coversation or whatever ...the weird thing is that some family knows and some dont...we are taking the whatever approach....usually people in my family only have to say **we want a baby** and BAM...they are PG but not so much with us :rolleyes: ...so we arent making an issue of it yet....so we will see...
welcome to roberta...may your stay be short and sweet...
mimi- i will let you know about the game...i had the board game but i found it too easy....i love me some friends..:D :D
Sorry it's been a while since I've been back here. I hope everyone is doing well.
Welcome, Roberta!
Do your friends IRL know you're TTC?
A few of our friends know that we told, mainly mine that I'd need for support. But for the most part no one else knows. I couldn't take our ttc as a topic of general discussion.
Question on CD 3 blood testing
We've been trying since end of March, and earlier this month had a consult with my obgyn about moving forward with testing. Unfortunately AF showed up tonight, and I'd count this as CD1 since it's bright red, but since it just started, it's not yet flowing. Would you count today as CD 1 (monday) and then that means I would go in for the bloodwork on Wednesday? I'd most likely only be able to make it there in the morning... so does it matter that I started AF Monday night and then would be going so early on Wednesday?
I had asked my doc about this since I normally start AF in the evenings. She said if it comes at 10pm, then it would still be CD1. I guess I'm just worried since I can only go Wednesday morning, and it doesn't seem like that's enough time in between, but technically it's still the right cycle day, right? I'm probably reading too much into this. Anyone have any clue if this really matters, or should I just chill?
i wish i could help answer your questions i havent a clue...but i would think that today would count as cycle day 1...i wish my doc would let me get some bloodwork done...she wants us to wait 3 more months...lets hope i get a BFP before then...:rolleyes:
Hi all!
Sorry AF showed up MichelleRenee, gymwidow, catlover, and mayham.
Sorry to see you leave catlover and chris-n-jen. Best wishes and good luck to both of you!
Welcome roberta! Hope your stay is short and sweet!
Yay to those that O'd! Hope you caught some eggs!
mayham I'm definitely no expert but I would count today as CD1 and go with Wednesday.
jenzen hope you and your family feel better soon!
Do your friends IRL know you are TTC? Yes they do. And of course they all don't understand the charting thing.... most of them just tell me to relax and let it happen naturally.. of course! One (coworker) was just telling me today that's why I'm not pg yet.. (she's due in 7 weeks.) Umm, no, it's because I didn't ovulate yet since TTC... and I know that from charting! Oh well.
Anyway have a great night everyone!
We haven't told anyone we are TTC yet. Last year we had a scare that we could possibly be pregnant and told one of our good guy friends. Dh told him not to tell anyone but then he went and told his parents and then one of his parents went up to my dad. It got everyone's hopes up and we learned not to tell this guy until we have a BFP and after we have told our parents ourselves. :rolleyes:
My temp wasn't great this morning. I am still pretty sure I O'd but I was hoping for a higher temp. I guess I will have to see what tomorrow brings.
catloverpq & chris-n-jen Best of luck to the both of you! Check in and let us know how you're doing.
Polkadot I bought SIX tests last month... and used very single on of them...lol. Have fun! I really need to get the Friends DVD game for my DH. He was way more into it than I was.
Sarah I have family that tells me that too. I was amazed when the midwife at my OBGYN's office told me that we needed to BD on days 13 and 14 since women O'd on day 14. I immediately informed her that I knew when I O'd since I was charting and it wasn't always on day 14. I can't believe that a medical professional didn't understand that.
Roberta Welcome!! Hope you're not with us too long.
Do your friends IRL know you are TTC? Most of them do. We aren't trying to keep it from anyone for any reason in particular. We haven't been TTC for too long now, but I think that in a few months I'm going to wish we had kept it to ourselves. I am beginning to understand that everyone asking if we're pregnant yet is going to be rough. Hopefully we'll get a BFP soon!
Nothing doing here. CD2, heavier AF today, but no cramps so far which is nice. I have my CD3 bloodwork scheduled for tomorrow. I finally read through the materials the RE's office gave me last night and discovered that they do give an HCG injection shot to trigger O with their Clomid patients, which makes me VERY happy. I was worried I'd have another really late O this month. I wish I had seen the RE early enough last cycle to get in in time for that! Anyway, my timeline should be: CD3 bloodwork tomorrow, CD12 u/s next Friday the 30th, my trigger shot I'm guessing around Jan. 3 or so, and then hopefully O that week! Now I just need to talk to the doc about getting progesterone supplements for the 2WW. If my progesterone level was 9.1 on Friday and I got AF yesterday, well, something seems wrong there.
Chris-n-jen, I think a lot of us can sympathize. Charting is easy for me, I got into the habit of temping very quickly, and during the boring part of my cycle, I don't think about it all very much. The 2WW (the 2 that I've had in the past 10 months) have been hard. But then, whether I'm charting or not, I tend to think about it all the time. It's definitely borderline obsession and is hard. I try not to talk about it with DH all the time, but am glad I have the online ladies who know what it's like! I hope taking a little break from it is good for you and that you end up pg before you know it!
mimieliza, yeah, and those strips can get expensive after a while! Good luck, I hope you can figure your cycle out soon.
Michelle, your words mirror the thoughts I had last night while going to sleep! The weight that was on my heart all day had lifted and I again felt very excited to be starting a fresh cycle, with all new chances of getting a BFP. It will be good to share CDs with you this month! CD2 here we are!
Polkadot, lol at your $ Store trip. I would've done the same thing!
Sarah, it's hard to talk to people sometimes who just don't get it. The friend I had lunch with yesterday told me she was 10 weeks pregnant. I was honestly 100% happy for her and told her that we were hoping to be in the same situation soon! She told me they had been trying for 7 months and how hard it had gotten when AF arrived and how happy she was to not be dealing with the constant ups-and-downs anymore. I was able to understand her feelings completely.
Roberta, welcome! I'm so sorry to read of your m/c. I hope that you have another BFP very soon!!!!
Friends knowing if we're TTCing: some, but not a lot. I'm a natural sharer, so it's hard for me not to tell. I've told my closest 3 friends and a couple of other very close friends know that we've been doing some testing in the hopes of TTC "soon". My parents know - my mom is one of my best friends, and I told her it's okay to share things with my dad. My ILs just know that we're hoping to give them another grandkid soon. MIL actually asked DH on Saturday if there was anything exciting to tell her, and he told her to hold her horses, that when there was something to tell, we'll tell them.
Mayham, I'd say just count yesterday as CD1. My doc told me that CD3 is not set in stone - if my CD3 had fallen on Christmas, for example, and I hadn't been able to get in for testing, they'd just do it on CD4 instead.
Threadmistress, I updated my link here and in my first post. hopefully this works!http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/10827a
Thanks for the warm welcome! No temp today because I got NO sleep last night. Definitely not 3-4 hours straight. I was worrying about my 8am dentist appointment all night. I hate the dentist!
QOTDOur Moms and sisters know because we told them about the mc. One of my friends and two of my close co-workers know because they were around at the time of the mc. We will talk to the Dads and two couples who are very close friends about it over Christmas. Both of the couples have had mcs and healthy children so I know they will be very supportive. Plus they both just had new babies, one in October and one in December so I don't think I will be able to keep my mouth shut while I am holding those beautiful babies. We wanted to keep the TTC secret to reduce the questioning and pressure but hopefully people will be more sensitive with their comments.
Hi everyone. I haven't checked in in forever b/c I'm still waiting to O. I have rather long cycles (or so it seems). All signs seem to point to an O later this week. I'm dilligently temping, and drinking green tea and grapefruit juice and lots of water like there's no tomorrow!
QOTD: Do your friends IRL know you're TTC? Only one does--and she's the only one of my close girlfriends that already has a child, so I wanted to tell her in case I had questions, wanted to vent, etc. She's been very discrete about it--never asking me anything and only talking about it when I bring up the topic. I didn't tell anyone else b/c I didn't want people asking. I would get annoyed.
An acquantaince recently announced her pregnancy--during the first few months, she would order wine and when people weren't looking, dump it. She had EVERYONE fooled.
I got a "high" score on the intercourse timer thingy on FF. The crazy thing wants me to wait till 1/6/06 to test but there is no way that is going to happen.
There is no way to surprise DH because he has been right here with me with all this charting. Which is good but I kind of wish I could be the one to tell him not a line on a stick. Maybe when/if I test I will have to lock him out of the room.
Does anyone else not have enough CM to tell if it changes. No matter what I try. This month it is grapefruit juice, mucinex, and tons of water. I *might* have had a bit of cm when I checked internally.
So... I've started trying to chart cervical postion. Any tips or suggestions?
12-21-2005, 07:27 AM
I have a question for those expert charters out there. Should your coverline be similar each month? This month mine is 97.4 when it is usually around 97.7. I ask because I'm not sure I have my O day right. I think it might be CD17 instead of CD14. I had some questionable CM that I couldn't figure out on Thursday or Friday. It had a sticky consistency to it but had a smidge of stretch to it. Some factors lead to me to think the CD14 interpretation. But on Friday I had such significant pain on my right side that it hurt to walk. I normally have right side pain that increases up until O and then I get a couple of days reprieve before it comes back.
So, I could be 14 DPO or 11 DPO. This waiting sucks. Having mild nausea in the evenings, both BBs hurt (normally just the right one), and I have all sorts of cramping--thought that isn't weird for me. Have I mentioned the waiting sucks.
jodylovesscotty--I'm not sure if you've read through this whole thread but there was a conversation a few days back about how several of our July mommies only BDed 2 days before O. . . and now they are in the July Mommies thread: Soulmate, Lizard, and one more (can't remember right now). So, don't count yourself out. Someone else posted about an article about how 2 days before O is actually the best fertile time. Fingers crossed for you.
giry76- yeah, my DH is very involved in what's going on with my cycle so surprise, not so much. The month we got pregnant, we decided to test together and it was negative. So, when I was out at the store 2 days later, I picked up another test and took it without telling him. However, the line was so light I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. So, I walked out to him where he was mowing the lawn, shoved the HPT in front of him and said, "do you see a line?". So romantic :)
QOTD- very few people know that we are TTC. Initially I didn't want to tell anyone because I didn't want the pressure. However, we get all the questions anyway so I feel just as much pressure. Part of me wants to share it, part of me wants to wait until I get my "announcement". A few close friends know we are TTC. Only one person knows about the pregnancy we lost b/c she was with me at work when I had to leave to go to the emergency room. We haven't told anyone else. I do think it's hard to endure the grandchildren comments all the time. Not looking forward to that this weekend. I'm just waiting for the day I have a complete breakdown and start freaking out when someone asks me when we are going to have kids. :)
Good morning ladies. CD3 here. I just had 3 vials of blood taken this morning and will find out the test results and hormone levels this afternoon. When the nurse calls she'll also let me know if the doc wants me to continue with 50mg of Clomid this month or move up to 100. Is it weird that I kind of hope they move me to 100? It seems like that would just increase our chances, but then who am I to know. They'll also schedule my u/s for the end of next week, either Friday or Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able to do the u/s and get my HCG shot at the same time. These $25 per visit copays (even for just bloodwork!) are starting to add up fast.
Last night I had the worst cramps of my entire life. I woke up at 2 am and was twisting and turning in agony. After about a half hour I gave up and went into our living room and got settled on the sofa with the cat, my heating pad, and a blanket. It took another hour before I was able to go back to bed. I ended up with only about 4 hours of sleep overall, so today I'm sure will feel terribly long. I already can't wait to go home and go to bed!
Michelle, oh, I hope so! Crossing all crossables now!!!! :)
giry, I know what you mean. I think when I finally get to test, I'll get up early and do it on the sly, so that I'll know before DH and can give him the "We're pregnant!" annoucement. I actually just ordered a book for him that I want to wrap up to give him on the big day.
Sorry I don't have more time for SO's right now. It's hectic at work today and I want to make sure I get everything done early so I can get out of here on time and get home to relax.
Yay to all those who popped out an eggie! Good luck in your 2WW! Good luck to all those waiting to catch their eggies! Have fun BDing! :D
CD 10 here. Not expecting O for some time. I ordered FertilAid supplements (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=139773&catid=83574&trx=GFI-0-EVGR-49973&trxp1=10782&trxp2=139773&trxp3=1&trxp4=3&btrx=BUY-GFI-0-EVGR-49973) and Fertili Tea (http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=142975&catid=82273&trx=GFI-0-EVGR-49973&trxp1=10782&trxp2=142975&trxp3=1&trxp4=4&btrx=BUY-GFI-0-EVGR-49973). The supplement is a basic prenatal vitamin with "Red Clover (Trifolium pretense) blossom Extract, Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian Ginseng) root Extract, Vitex agnus castus (Chaste Treeberry) Extract, and Ginkgo biloba (leaf) Extract." The tea has chasteberry (vitex), red raspberry leaf, green tea, ladies mantle, nettle leaf and peppermint.
I'll be interested to see if the supplements do anything. My mother had similar problems with long cycles, and she got pregnant (after trying for five years) after going to a naturopathic physician. I did some reading, and everything in them seems safe, as long as I stop taking them if I get pg.
gymwidow, ugh! I hate cramps like that! I'm sorry you're dealing with that right now. Hope you feel better soon :)
cowgirl, when your charting TTA, you should always record the most fertile CM you experience during the day. It's just a reminder NOT to UDD *any* time you have fertile CM. For TTC purposes, you're probably better off recording what you experienced the most during the day. Say, for example, on O-day you experience EWCM first thing in the morning, but you notice a general dry-up throughout the day. You'd want to record that as watery or creamy to help distinguish that day as O. Either way, make sure you make note of it, the more detailed the better. If you ever have to look back on charts to compare, you're going to wish you had samples!
Gator, coverlines are usually going to be in a range, and .3-.5 difference is totally normal. Mine go from about 97.7 to 97.4 when the weather gets cold. I think you O'd on CD14, and don't forget you didn't get your first BFP until 15 DPO;).
Ausie2b, I kinda think you O'd on CD14 instead of 13. Much higer temp shift (with a fall-back rise 2 DPO), plus you got a +OPK on CD14, and it's extremely rare to get one after O.
giry, I got my BFP while DH was sleeping. I was going to surprise him with a romantic wake-up, but instead he overheard me on the phone with the doc!
Sooo many Oers right now! Good luck to you all!
