The Color Purple on Broadway

I actually saw it last week. I thought it was very good. Though, I think it got some mixed reviews.

I was a bit nervous since I really like the movie, and thought that the play wouldn't live up to it.

After seeing it, I would say the play was a complement to the movie. It had its own way of the looking at the book, though central themes were the same. I really enjoyed it.

The costumes were great. The stage was nice, but nothing spectacular. Not Lion King like at all, in terms of being wowed.
