Okay, I was talking to my MIL about how the highchair tray can go in the dishwasher, but WHO would ever do that?? First of all it is HUGE, second of all the kid uses it 2-3 times a day. (I only run the dishwasher once a week!)

So, does anyone really put the tray in the dishwasher??

I do. We have the Fisher Price one that comes with three trays and with the way that tray looks after DS eats dinner...we put it in the dishwasher. We also run our dishwasher usually after two days though. It fills up really fast between ours andhis dishes and sippies etc

If it is ready to go, yes. Otherwise, just wash it by hand.

Ditto what Sal03 said. We run our dishwasher daily, though.

Yes, but we also run the dishwasher once per day, and the highchair (also Fisher-Price) came with multiple trays. We have a really big dishwasher, and the try fits better in there than it does in the sink. :)

Yes, but only the part that snaps off on top, so if it's in the dishwasher still when DS needs to eat, he still has one tray that's useable.

And usually only when he's messy enough to warrant a deep cleaning, sometimes a sponging off is enough.

Nope, I always wash ours by hand. I hate filling up the dish washer with huge, bulky items.

I have the eddie bauer wooden high chair (x 2). There's two trays apiece. I typically hand-wash the trays after meals, but every two or three days, I'll put all of the trays in the dishwasher. Like some of the others, I run the dishwasher daily, though.

I have never put it in the dishwasher even once. I have a small, crappy dishwasher that I only run when full and that thing would take up half of it. Also, yeah, I use the tray 3 times a day.

Is my kid the only one who loves to take that top layer tray off and fling it? We've never been able to use it for that reason.

We have 3 trays too. They go in the dishwasher, unless he ate something relatively clean. If all the trays are dirty, he just eats off the base.

My kid has been doing this since before he turned one. He drives me crazy how he can undo it and tosses it. I usually leave it off for that reason.

We toss our s in the dishwasher at night.. I run our dishwasher at bedtime... it's old and noise and contributes to the 'white noise' am I the only one who can run the dishwasher more than once a day? :o I'll claim babysitting 2 days a week but other than that, I guess it's just a messy husband..

I usually run the dishwasher 2-3 times a day (I do baking from my home and I cook a lot as well) so if there's room, it goes in there. If not, it gets wiped off. Or sometimes he just eats at the table and doesn't use the tray, he doesn't like it too much.

I don't use the high chair yet, but just stopped in to say I have no idea how some people can get away with only using their dishwasher a couple times a week or less. We use ours at least once a day if not more.

We usually run our dishwasher twice a week because my DH prefers to do the dishes by hand and he is the dishwasher of the family:) When my son was in the highchair, we would put the tray in the dishwasher twice a week - the dishwasher seemed to do a better job at removing stains like pasta sauce etc.

right here! we use the booster seat thingy with the tray but havent used the top layer tray because she just pulls it right off, dumping her meal in her lap.

but yeah, we put the tray in the dishwasher. not every time, but once a week or so.
