Okay, this is not the cheapest near me, but it's definitely under the average price, and is mere blocks from my rental. And it just makes me laugh (in a sad, horrified way).

Ha-- this made me laugh. We've had potted plants and lanterns stolen off our porch. We have to keep our patio table secured to the porch with a bicycle lock. Starting price of a home on this block? About $1.25 million. (We rent).

LOL, there aren't a ton of jobs here, and you'll make considerably less, but yes, house prices are MUCH cheaper. My relatives in Southern CA who own their homes are shocked at our mortgage.
