when you started DC on solids, how did you start? what foods did you begin with? how often did you offer them?
DS is 6.5 months old and we just started solids last week. we're doing a little less than one serving at a time and once a day. I'm not really sure when I should offer them more frequently. Also when do you start things like Cheerios?
TIA.
eta, ds has 2 teeth and i think at least 1 more is coming in, if that matters.

DS started on cereal at about 5 months. We started with rice cereal mixed with formula and every now and then apple juice if he was constipated. When he first started on solids we'd do 1 tablespoon of cereal at supper time. We gradually added a morning meal and then started 3 times a day. He never had cereal 3 times a day though. He'd have fruit or veggies for at least 1 meal/day.
Cheerios and such were started around 9-10 months. Our DS was late getting teeth. At 15 months he only has 4 with 2 more coming in. It really depends on your comfort level and how he does with eating other solids.

We started solids at about 6 months and would just do one meal per day, which was oatmeal mixed with breast milk or formula. We gradually added fruits to that. After 2 weeks of cereal and fruits, we added veggies for lunch. We did 2 solid meals until this week, and my DD is almost months. We just started doing the dinners (i.e. meats with veggies/fruits). I've been buying the gerber foods and am just starting on stage 2.
At just past 7 months, I started giving DD the Gerber puffs. They pretty much just dissolve, though she does chew them now. They only way she eats them though is if I feed them to her, when I put them on her highchair tray they just end up on the floor (which our dog loves!). She doesn't quite have the pincher grasp down yet. I haven't started cheerios yet, and probably won't until she has that down.
This solid thing and figuring out how much/what to feed has been a challenge. Good luck to you!!
