I am very hesitant to be joining the group, but here I am. My mom had 6 m/c's and I have a couple of issues that couple make me more at risk for an ectopic pregnancy or an incompetent cervix, so I am taking everything 1 day at a time.

I am waiting for the doctor to call me back so I can schedule my first appointment.

Today was the first day I didn't POAS! (But I did still temp...need to stop that)

Glad to be here!

Back from the world's longest meeting...which brings me to my symptoms:
-I can't really tell if I am having frequent urination because I always drink so much water
-Bbs do hurt, but not that much. I keep pinching them to see if they are in pain
-Biggest thing I've noticed which should of be an "aha" last week is bleeding gums

I am TRYING hard to not look for symptoms or lack thereof. Like my tummy - I was really bloated last week but not so much this week, but that is because I am really trying not to eat a lot of carbs, so my soda intake has gone down from 40 oz a day to 8 (the cute little cokes are wonderful) and I am eating better so my stomach isn't as pronounced.

I will no longer temp. My temp was 98.9 this morning, up .2 from yesterday. The way my temps are going, I think the only thing they can do is stay the same or go down some and I don't want to freak myself out by them going down.

I just put in another call to my doctor.

I so can not concentrate on work at all!!

Well, I finally got my beta results from Monday. They were a 46. I had a repeat done today. And a rhogham shot. You see I'm AB- and my husband is O+ so our bloodtypes are not compatible. If the baby has a positive bloodtype I can start producing antibodies against it. Anyways, you normally only get one at 28 weeks and after birth (if baby has pos blood type). So, you're probably wondering how I ended up getting one of these. Well, I started spotting last night. Just a bit of red. Freaked out, naturally. Even called the emergency number. Of course, unless I started gushing, they said to take it easy and call the office in the morning. So, I called this morning and Dr K squeezed me into her schedule. I got there just after 9:30 am, and finished up around 12:30 pm. I was hungry, so I went to lunch. Then I went back to the hospital for another HcG draw and the rhogham. Now, we just wait to see what these numbers do. I also have another lab slip for Sunday. As long as I don't start gushing or having any pain, I just have to wait it out. The spotting this morning was just brown and this afternoon is more of a brownish (definitely less than this morning in quantity). So, now we wait.

I am crossing my fingers for you jennylou.

Today I am working from home. Yesterday afternoon I was feeling a little feverish (even though it was normal when I got home)...plus Friday is jeans day and while mine fit, they are starting to get uncomfortable so I am going to go out tomorrow and buy 1 size up. I don't feel so bad working from home because it is December and work is a lot more lax in December.

On Wednesday I had no symptoms. Yesterday I felt the most nauseaus I have yet. And I went to sleep at 9:30, but every time I tried to role over I would wake up because my boobs were killing me.

I talked to my regular GYN yesterday. She told me no hair highlights until 14 weeks. I am now just waiting for the secretary to call me back to make my first appointment (I am pretty peeved that is already Friday and haven't been able to make the appointment yet) I will give this practice a chance because I really like the location, but if they piss me off I will consider changing OB practices.

I am going to have to tell my mom a doozy of a lie in a little while. Today I was supposed to have an HSG test and I need to tell my mom I had it because I am not ready to tell her yet I am pg. It is going to be SO hard because I am going to want to tell her SO badly! But we really want to wait until Christmas.

TTC: Just seeing what happened
BFP: 12/2/05
EDD: 8/12/06
Gender Prediction: Boy
Any other children: Joseph, 9/23/04

I got my official BFP this morning. I had just moved so I need to get an new OB. Joseph was 5 weeks early due to PROM and fromw hat I understand, it runs in my dads family so I am not sure if I will make it to term. I got pg after my 2nd AF pp as I am still breastfeeding DS.

We aren't saying anything till x-mas and we will put a t-shirt on DS that says "I am going to be a big brother". Hoepfully this wil work as m/s may have kicked in by then and I wouldn't be able to hide it since we will be there 1-2 days beforehand. We shall see.

Symptoms, not much anymore, BB's a little tingly and slightly sore, sharp cramping, some food aversions or not feeling good after I ate something I wanted, stronger sense of smell, acid reflux (had to take tagamet yesterday as I had trouble getting the tums down, kept gagging) and of course, bloating. My last pg I had evening sickness, all nauseau, no throwing up.

I think we will have a boy since I had a dream after I O'd that I would have a boy, but hope it's a girl. Either way would be fine though!

Anyway, congrats to everyone. I see lots of others here I know, lots of repeat offenders!

Jenny- I too was a May Mommy with you and wanted to come over here and wish you a HUGE congrats. I have thought of you SOO often over the last seven months. You and your dh will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers! H&H 9 months to you!:D

jesseybell
12-02-2005, 10:22 AM
cocoa_femme - Yes! I've been incredibly gassy!!!

jennylou - I am so happy that the betas look okay.

I had the big lieing phonecall with my parents. My dad answered and asked me how the HSG went. Then he goes "So are you pregnant yet?" joking around. He also asked me after we got back from our HM. I think he wants me to be pg more than my mom! Then I talked to my mom and I went into a few details from stuff I had read, but not much. Then she asked 'So now what?' I told her we could start trying this month. Then she started going on and on about how I shouldn't be disappointed if I don't get pg right away, that it took her a year the first time and how all her friend's kids have had trouble getting pregnant. This is why I hate dealing with her sometimes. I am SO worried about how she is going to react when I tell her. I probably am going to have to tell her to shut up and just say nothing at all. I don't need to hear negativity. I don't expect her to start planning her life in August, but I DO NOT want to hear from her (especially on Christmas) "Well...don't get too excited"...Hopefully she will surprise me. She was telling me about how her best friend growing up got to be in the delivery room. Was she hinting? :) I really hope me being pg can be a positive mother-daughter thing. Part of my negativity has been my other ramming into my head since I was 12 that I was going to have trouble. I hope I can prove her wrong!

I wish I would have been to the doctor by Christmas, but I won't...I finally talked to the secretary
Appointment with Nurse: December 28th (8 weeks)
Appointment with Doctor: January 12 (10 weeks)

And since I am home I just randomly POAS...Nice and dark.

I wish I could have betas, I wish I could have an ultrasound before 10 weeks. But for now they are just treating me like a normal pg person, so I guess I can't complain.

jeggink
12-02-2005, 10:29 AM
jesseybell Have you told them that you were DES exposed and that you were worried about an ectopic? They usually take them very seriously. That is what I told my new OB, I just told them over the phone I was DES exposed and that I was worried about an ectopic and they got me in a bit earlier than 8 weeks. I would try not to worry about it. I was told that most DES children don't have issues.

cocoa_femme Yup, that is what tipped me off, lots of gas without having to have a BM (sorry if TMI, you get over your shyness really quick once you have had a baby :) )

jennylou
12-02-2005, 10:40 AM
jessey - I got my betas only b/c of the clomid and me asking for them. SIL who goes to the same practice and was on clomid did not get betas done. I think the nurse thought I was obsessive compulsive until I had spotting - only then did I get quick response from that office.

cocoa - I have gas. I had gas with my pregnancy with Andrew. I would toot all day long. Thankfully, they were quiet...hope that they weren't stinky. :p No one ever complained though. ;)

cocoa_femme
12-02-2005, 10:42 AM
Thank God, it's not just me. I keep telling DH that it's a symptom. But, he thinks I'm making excuses . But, for me...it's not just the toots. It's the belching as well. I have gas coming out of both ends. Lucky me, LOL!

jesseybell
12-02-2005, 11:03 AM
jeggink - The office manager did tell me what to look out for for an ectopic (persistant pain on one side, usually accompanied by a fever) and she told me to call if I was worried about it. When I went to my OB a month ago she says they are more concerned about the incompetent cervix and they will be checking it via vaginal ultrasound starting at the end of the first trimester. I am definitely going to bring up the DES with the nurse on the December 28th and try to convince them to take a peek. My doctor yesterday said they couldn't detect an ectopic via ultrasound until 6 weeks.

jennylou
12-02-2005, 11:06 AM
cocoa - not too worry, I have the toots and the burps. ;)

Hello girls! Thanks for the Welcome! I'm thrilled to be here!

Welcome to jeggink! So happy to see you here!

cocoa femme: Totally with you on the gas! One of my tip offs that I could be PG. I have been burping too, and did so with my DD too.

jesseybell: I hope that you can prove your mom wrong too! I'm not sure when I will get an ultrasound either.

jennylou: Keepin my fingers crossed for you!

I have been on course all week, so I haven't been able to get into the base to get my "official" BFP from there, so I will be going on Monday first thing, and then it will be next two or three hours filling out paperwork! UGH! I should mention that I am in the Canadian Forces, and I am a flyer, so I can't fly now that I am PG...thus all the paperwork.

Gotta go...

cocoa_femme Yes, I have been very gassy! Today one slipped in front of the little boy I watch and he yelled EWWWW you tooted thankfully he forgot by the time his dad arrived to pick him up!

jeggink Congrats!!

My doctor's office has changed their policy since the last time. They no longer to a bloodtest to confirm and I won't get an appointment until December 27. We don't want to say anything to family until we have the appointment. So I will somehow have to make it through Christmas without spilling the beans..like no one will notice the wine glass absent from my hand:o
I did buy a CBE digital and did that today. It was so cool to see "Pregnant" pop up.

Repeat offenders - Is it just me or is this much more relaxing for you? I was so happy when we found out we were expecting the first time and everything was so new. I am excited this time, but not as worried over every ache/pain/feeling/twinge. For me it makes things better because I have something to reference it to. Does that make sense?

Well, I'm sad to say that I'm glad I didn't "officially" join as it appears this was a chemical pregnancy. But I'm happy anyway because we'd been trying for nearly a year and had no luck so at least we NOW know we can get pg. Wishing everyone in here a happy and healthy nine months!

Hub - Even though I'm technically a RO as I've been through a pregnancy before, I can't say I'm any less nervous. If I hadn't had the spotting episode I may have been less nervous, but now I'm a nervous nellie! Hopefully once I'm out of the first tri, I'll be a lot better. Of course, as the end of the third tri approaches, I reserve the right to become a nervous nellie again!

Jules - I have "talked" to you in other threads, hope this spotting is nothing and that in a few days you'll feel comfortable in joining us officially.:)

I know I said in my previous post that I was "out" of this thread, but it appears (thank you, Jenny, for talking me down!) that it may not be a chem pg or early MC and I may just be overreacting. I don't know yet - will have to wait til next week and try to get my dr to give me a lab slip for betas. So I'm still unofficial and all freaked out but hopefully getting calmer!

I am also a bit reluctant to join, but here I am. 5 days after we DTD (Thanskgiving) I went in a hot tub and later in the evening had about 6 ounces of OJ and champange. I don't think the egg had implanted yet...but I am worried. Plus, I was told some time ago (by a doctor) that I had some time of vaginal bacteria that is never cured but can be treated. She told me there was nothing to worry about but when I get pregnant it needs to be watched. So, now I am in a new state (and will have to find a new doctor) I am wondering how that can or has already effected the egg.

Anyway...I am so excited, but OH so nervous too. My DH is 90% convinced. He is very happy, just reluctant to trust something you pee on. Plus, he thinks the two lines on the test need to be dark...so I showed him pics here on CC and explained that a line is a lines:)

Welcome Amy!

Joelle - I think you may be right, an u/s may provide some relaxation. My OB already said I could have one when my numbers reach about 2000. That puts me sometime late next week or early the following week. I can't wait to get there...

Jenny: I'm glad I'm not the only one! I don't know when I will be able to get one, but I may find out on Monday. Our doctor's offices don't have u/s machines in them, so you have to go to a hospital for them. Since I am military, our base hospital has one, but I don't know when I can get in. I will ask the doctor on Monday when I see him. We leave for the holidays on the 22nd of December, and don't really get back until the 3rd of January. I really hope to have it before then!

julesp313 Keeping all croassables crossed!!

jennylou no "technically" about it girl! You are very much a RO!:) I totally support your right to freak at any time during the next 9 months and after:D

Joelle Hopefully you can get your u/s and some piece of mind.

PLNUBRIDE Congrats!! Men are dorks when it comes to the lines - my DH would always insist that one was lighter so therefore we needed doctor confirmation:rolleyes: I would not worry about what you did before you got the BFP (within reason of course!) I went to a Happy Hour(s) the week before my BFP with DD and she is a very healthy baby girl. Of course I didn't drink any alcohol once I found out - even though some people I know insisted that one drink here and there was okay....

U/S - With DD I got tons of u/s's, M doctor knew we had been ttc for so long and she needed to see baby ASAP. I had about 8 or 9 u/s then throughout the pregnancy. I know I will probably only get the standard 2 for this one and will have to wait until about 20 weeks for the first. I would like to get a 3D u/s this time but am not sure where they do it.

Possible names - DH and I can't seem to come up with any we like. We are not finding out the sex this time so we need both boys and girls names.

jennylou
12-03-2005, 04:49 PM
Finding out the sex - Hub brought up a much debated topic in our household. With Andrew, we didn't find out the sex. We'll see who wins this one. :)

As for names, we had both a boy and girl named picked out for our first, which ended up being a boy, so he was named Andrew Wyatt. We had picked Gabrielle Elizabeth for a girl, and although I still love the name and think it's beautiful, I don't know if I'll be able to use it, simply because it is a name that is just a part of my pregnancy with Andrew. We'll see, DH still loves the name and wants to use it if the bug is a girl.

Anyway, BBL with shout-outs

jennylou I have to clarify, DH wants to know the sex, I do not. I told him he can get the tech to write it down and he can read it after (and I'm sure he won't keep bugging me about the fact he knows and I don't! :D ).

Judy too funny! I'm wondering how on earth I'll be able to keep them from guessing on Christmas especially if I get m/s like I did the last time!

It's funny but there were names we loved last time that we are no longer crazy about and we are having a tough time coming up with names we like. Today we got very silly and just started coming up with nonsense names.

Symptoms - I really don't seem to have any(aside from not getting AF), had I not POAS 2 times I would not think I was pg at all. According to the online EDD calculator I'm 6 weeks. Last time around 7 or 8 weeks was when I really started feeling bad so I'm keeping fingers crossed. I just want to be able to enjoy Christmas dinner!

I can't offically join you guys yet:rolleyes: , but I was wondering if any of you experienced implantation bleeding. My AF is not due until the end of this week and had some spotting yesterday which I never ever do. I had no cramps yesterday, but I am feeling dull aches today almost like AF. I do have increased CM though. I did test this morning and got a BFN:(

Anyone experience this and got the BFP?

Hoping to join you soon! Will know by the end of the week. Thanks!

CurlyT: I had implantation bleeding at 9DPO but I think FF called my O date wrong so I think it was more at 7DPO. I also had cramping and a temp. dip during implantation. Good Luck! Keeping everything crossed for ya! God Bless!!!

Symptoms: NOt too much, just some dull cramping, pulling sensation in pelvic area, feeling fatigued no matter how much sleep I get, had a UTI in the beginning at like 5DPO didn't know it was related to PG, and TMI...had diaherra at 17-21DPO. Other than tat no sore bb's, morning sickness, headaches, oh an dyea feeling dizzy/lightheaded too.

I'm still unofficially here! :) Got a darker than ever BFP this morning - in fact, the test line is almost as dark as the control line - I have been waiting (very impatiently!) for that to happen. No more squinting and holding it up to the light! However, being paranoid and Type-A beyond all doubt, I'm still not officially joining til after I've seen my dr which will be Dec 15th (oh, the agony of waiting!!!).

We're not finding out the sex - we're both adament that we don't want to. We'll just have one girl and one boy name picked out (I hope!).

Symptoms - boobs are killing me, I had MAJOR implantation pains at 9dpo (there was no mistaking this - it was AGONY!), and obviously no AF! Oh, and about 11 BFPs now, because I'm a compulsive POASer. :)

I had to have another blood draw yesterday to check my betas and make sure all is rising okay. I just got the results and it looks like the brief spotting episode last week was nothing to stress too much over.

My beta last Monday was 46
Thursday it was 241
and yesterday it was 595.

They should double every 48-72 hours, so I am very happy right now and am hoping that this is a good indication of good things to come. :)

symptoms - well, today I feel like I'm going to lose my oatmeal from breakfast. With Andrew, I had the queasies early, but didn't puke until 10 weeks. From 10 weeks until 30, I puked daily (except when I was on vacation - I guess my body was trying to tell me to take it easier?). After 30w it lessened some - that means I didn't puke every day...usually every few days. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that I can not puke that much this time.

Jennylou Those are wonderful numbers!! I had red bleeding with pg#1 at 6-7 weeks or so and brown spotting on and off till ~12 weeks. I am hoping it won't reoccur again. I was just told not to BD until 2 weeks had passed after the red bleeding had stopped.

Welcome mloveya, PLNUBRIDE & Tonysweetie

Hub1176 Yeah it was pretty funny. My MIL kept thinking it was her, or that something was wrong with the salad. I told he it wasn't her or the salad I just couldn't eat it. How do you explain that to someone that made you a salad that you were craving not even 5 min ago. Then she asked if I was pg and I was like "Umm, Ummm" Not knowing what to say. So finally I told her yes. She said that she thought I may be the night before as I didn't have any wine. I then called my mom and told her and she said she already had a feeling. So everyone knows and is excited.

Hmm - am I nervous as a RO? Yes, but not as badly. I am a little more laid back and for some reason I don't feel pg yet even with the nauseau and cramps. It still feels like AF is coming back. Any RO still BF'ing? We are trying to wean Joseph, but I am starting to feel his teeth again, I guess I am getting sensitive. Another thing is that I am sad that this may be our last pg so I plan on enjoying it fully!

Names & Sex, we will probably find out the sex and choose a few names after that (we already have a list of boys names from before) and choose one once the baby is born that suits him/her.

Symptoms - Food aversions, light to moderate nauseau, cramps, bb's get sharp pains at times but not to sore, not wanting to eat much, fatigue, dizzy spells, etc. I think overall the nauseau is the thing that surprised me coming this early. Oh, can't forget emotional, I am almost crying at some commercials!

U/S - My last pg I had a bunch. Since I will be at a different dr this time due to moving, I am not sure what they will do. I will also have to switch OB's when I am about 5-6 months as we will buy a house and move from where we are and it's far enough away that I wouldn't be able to go to their hospital.

Welcome to Leslie and Maria! Happy and Healthy 9 Months to you!

I look forward to getting to know you all better!

I had my test at the base hospital this morning, and much as I expected the urine PG test came back negative! It did with Ryleigh too, but they drew blood and did the serum test, and it was a BFP! I see the doc tomorrow, and then I have to see the nurse to set up all the other appointments and to get transfered to a Doc to follow the PG.

I am nervous, but not nearly as much as I was with Ryleigh.

Gender: Here in Nova Scotia, they don't tell you if you have your U/S at the hospital, but if I were to have one at the base hospital, I MAY be able to find out. DH and I haven't decided on this yet, it is still up for negotiations!

I hope that you all are having a good day!

Hi Girls! Glad to hear that all seems to be going well for everyone. Welcome to the new members!

I've been feeling great....until this morning. Then I felt like I was going to toss my cookies from the moment I officially got out of bed (I had been lying there awake for over an hour after letting the dogs out). I ate a peanut butter bar and then an English Muffin, but still felt yucky. It wasn't until I got to work and took a walk around the building that I felt better!

Other symptom is that my boobs HURT like you would not believe.

jennylou
12-06-2005, 04:24 AM

I wish I could nap in the afternoons...man, I get so tired!

julesp313

I'm not getting tired during the day (thank goodness) but I can't stay awake past 8pm and I'm wide frickin' awake at 5am... no sickness yet but I won't say never! But... my BOOBS HURT!!!! Seriously. When I get undressed for bed, usually it's a relief to free them from the confines of my super-duper construction bra (I'm a DD/DDD) but now, I'm almost in tears - so I take one bra off and put on a big ol' sports bra (got one two sizes too big) and that helps some...

For you RO's, when (if ever) do the boobies stop hurting????

jesseybell
12-06-2005, 08:50 AM
My boobs are killing me like crazy too - yesterday I leaned over to tie my shoe and I wanted to scream. Other than that right now that is my only real symptom - nausea comes and goes but hasn't been horrible since Thursday. And I am really constipated (TMI) - Yesterday I had a ton of veggies at lunch and Mexican for dinner. It helped a little, but not enough.

Today is my "change" day, so the pg site on FF gives me new info on my now little apple-seed.

cocoa_femme
12-06-2005, 09:08 AM
My boobs are sore, as well. But, luckily I'm just an 'A' cup, so they don't hurt too bad.

I'm not constipated, but the gas is really killing me. I can't go an hour, without a few "toots" sneaking out :o.

Also, I get tired towards the end of the work day (3-4 p.m.). Which really sucks, because that's usually when I get my burst of energy.

I'm experiencing a little nausea, but no full-blown morning sickness...yet.

Welcome mrstim!

Well I just got off the phone with my doc's office. I have an appointment on Monday so at that time he will be doing a sonogram on me. I wonder if it will be too early to detect the heartbeat. I believe with my DS I went in for the sonogram at 6W5days and at that time I saw his little heart beating....I can't wait to see this one!!!!

As far as symptoms I am basically just a little nauseous but nothing major. I remember with my son I started getting all the major symptoms at around 6-8 weeks so I guess it's still a little early for me....

I'm slightly confused! According to Fertility Friend & Baby Center, I'm only 3 weeks pregnant. Which is fine, but when you look at their "weekly" email, it says that the egg should still be traveling down the fallopian tube & it'll take me days to figure out if I'm pregnant. Um, I've had 2 positive tests now, I AM able to know I'm pregnant, right? With my due date as 8/20, it seems like it's too early to know! I ovulated on CD 14, and today's CD 24, so I'm assuming it's ok to say I think I'm pregnant, right? We're going for a blood test on Friday, so I'll know for sure then, but I'm confused!

mrstim

MLoveya - you can only post the link to your ticker. You do it by posting a link in your siggie, and using the lilypie address as the first part of the link, and what you want it to say in the second. My Lilypie is the second link in my siggie. :D HTH!

I have felt a bit queasy the last two mornings - as luck would have it DD decided to wake up bright and early! So I'm trying to feed her and not toss the cookies. Keeping fingers crossed at least it's not like the non stop m/s I had with her. I don't feel any more tired than usual, and I seem to remember being exhausted last time. Any other children: Nope, just a deranged cat in need of therapy and Prozac

I'm actually not 34 for another 18 days but I figured I'm close enough to have that in my stats!

Now, my QOTD, if I may... What have you already changed in your eating and drinking habits?

Me - I cut out the Diet Coke immediately and that was HARD. I can't drink the regular crap. Also stopped with coffee (though I'm still thinking decaf once in a while is fine). Was shocked to be told I can no longer eat peanut butter (allergies) or honey (botulism, I believe?). And shellfish. Tuna. Blue cheese (and I love blue cheese!). Sushi. ARGH! ;)

jennylou
12-06-2005, 03:52 PM
Jules - I think the whole peanut butter thing was discussed when I was preggo before. I think our dr in our group (BTB) said it wasn't an issue while pregnant, only that a baby shouldn't eat it too young. You may want to ask that in pregnancy. As for tuna, you can have a can a week. The bleu cheese issue sucks, b/c I love it too. And some shellfish is also okay I think. Sushi is out though....

ds2003
12-06-2005, 04:54 PM
I'm actually a June06 mommy, but wanted to answer Julie's question.

Everything I read and have been told is that peanut butter and honey are fine while you are pregnant. You just should not give them to an infant.

Stat update:

EDD: august 12, 2006

I have not been around too much as I really want to get a doctor confirmation before I officially go "baby crazy". But I am reading along.

The bummer thing is, we got the 1st BFP on Friday and then headed back to our old hometown for a company party (and am staying with my parents). We were supposed to leave for home on Monday. then it got switched to Tuesday and now it looks like it won't be until Thursday (due to DH's work). So, needless to say I can't even call to make an appointment (let alone actually go to one) until I get home 1) because I was just added to my DH' insurance and the list of doctor's is at home 2) We don't want anyone, including my parents, to know until we know it is OK. So, it is hard to call the insurance company to talk about pregnancy when my dad is home all day. Dh and can't even discuss anything about the pregancy...so it has been a bit hard the past several days.

Although last night my parents out of the blue asked if I was going to have kids anytime soon...which is a VERY ODD question considering my mom for years has told me that I don't have to have kids to be happy and that kids are more hassle than it is worth....basically she is not a kid person so the line of questioning was way out of the normal! It freaked me out big time

jesseybell
12-06-2005, 05:43 PM
I ate so incredibly well the week after my BFP. The last couple of days I've slipped a little, but I need to get back on track. I need to remember to get in my milk. I watched a little snippit on On Demand today about 'Eating for 2' and how it really means only an extra 300 calories per day and those extra calories should be dairy.

I haven't given up my regular Coke. I used to drink 20-40 oz a day at work(though I was trying to stop it because it was a habit I only picked up a few months ago). Last week I only drank a little 8 oz can, if that. Today DH brought me a 20 oz bottle. I need to tell him to stop doing that, but I was being so sluggish and it really helped and we've been organizing the house like crazy.

What is the deal with deli ham and turkey? I can't get a definitive answer if they are bad. The thing I watched today showed a Turkey sandwhich as good.

I love blue cheese too!

Last night we went out for Mexican before U2. It was really hard not to have margarita or a Corona. I don't drink that often but you want things so badly when you can't have them.

Overall I have been TRYING not to eat anything that has empty calories.

OH I've been dealing with EXTREME hunger today! I ate oatmeal & toast at 9:30, 100 cal pack cookies at 11, Cheese & Crackers at 12:30, Chips & salsa at 2:30, poptarts at 4, Supper at 5:30, and I just had peaches. Doesn't sound too healthy, but I was SO hungry and that's the food that sounded good! I think I'm going crazy b/c I'm so newly pregnant, but oh well!

Hmm, interesting about the PB and honey. Will ask my dr at my first visit next week. I heard sushi with raw fish isn't safe (duh) but California rolls made with cooked crab meat are OK - anyone want to weigh in on that one?

Jessie - you saw U2? Don't they just ROCK???? DH and I saw them twice on the Vertigo tour and once on the Atomic Bomb tour... I heart Bono. :)

Babylove - I think I said congrats in the other thread, but congrats again! :D

Welcome babylove and steve'sbride!

PLNUBRIDE - I hope you are able to get official confirmation soon.

eating - I'm not overly worried about my eating habits. I did pretty good with my first pregnancy in the weight gain department, and just ate when I was hungry (otherwise I got sick). I plan to do the same thing this go around.

julesp313 ~ Thanks!! I think the california rolls are fine. If the fish is cooked, there's nothing bad about eating rice and seaweed. I love sushi and I think that's what I'll miss most during this pgcy!

Welcome babylove and steve'sbride.

Well, I had some red (I mean bright red) bleeding last night after a BM. This is the same thing I had last time around 7 weeks :(. It went away quickly and wasn't much, but it looks like I will have these issues again, sigh. If I get it again I will call the drs and get an earlier appt.

QOTD I cut out a little caffeine and that is about it. Last time I gained 30 lbs and I expect this time will be the same.

Oops, forgot about this...QOTD ~ I cut out caffeine a while ago (since we've been TTC for 8 months now). Oh and alcohol, of course. That's about it so far! I anticipate cutting back on fish that is high in mercury like salmon; raw sushi ( :( )...I really have to try to be better about getting lots of calcium and varying my diet (read: eat something other than chocolate!)

Congrats to all of you ladies, was just glancing and noticed this question from Jessie, I have talked with my doctor about this

What is the deal with deli ham and turkey? I can't get a definitive answer if they are bad. The thing I watched today showed a Turkey sandwhich as good.

I love blue cheese too!

deli meats can contain bacteria, so it's best for them to be heated or not eaten at all.

Blue and feta cheeses, or any soft cheeses are a big no no. They have bacteria in them that can cause issues with the unborn baby.

babylove
12-07-2005, 06:23 AM
Hi Ericka!
I'll weigh in on the question too...I have heard that deli meats (like the kind that are pre-packaged) are a no-no. Something about listeria (sp?), which is a bacteria. I think it's the same reason why hot dogs are supposedly off limits too. But good, high quality deli meat, the kind that is freshly sliced at the grocery store should be ok. As for soft cheeses (feta, blue, brie), as long as they are pasturized, they are ok. It's unpasturized cheeses that are the problem. I don't really know how to tell if cheese is pasturized (does it say so on the packaging?), so I just assume stay away from it altogether.

Ericka_Jarett
12-07-2005, 06:36 AM
Most of the soft cheeses are not pasteurized from what my doctor said.

Question: I read an article that said eating Brie and other soft cheeses during pregnancy could be life-threatening for the baby. Is this true?

Answer: Unpasteurized soft cheeses (and other unpasteurized dairy products) can carry a potentially deadly bacteria called listeria monocytogenes. Although cases of listeria infection are rare (the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that 2,500 people in the U.S. become ill every year), pregnant women are about 20 times more likely than other healthy adults to get listeriosis.

In healthy adults, infection with listeria can cause a short-lived flulike illness.
Pregnant women, however, can be hit harder by listeria infection, for the same reason they're more susceptible to everything during pregnancy: Their immune system isn't working as well.

Scientists now believe there may be a link between listeria infection and miscarriages and stillbirths. Babies born to mothers infected during pregnancy can have trouble breathing, low body temperature, and other problems. Some who seem healthy at birth can have symptoms weeks later, such as feeding problems and fever. And recent research suggests that listeria infection is the third most common cause of septicemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis in newborns. The organism can also be dangerous to small children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms usually develop several weeks after exposure to the bacteria. They sometimes, but not always, include fever, chills, muscle aches, and back pain. The incubation period before the illness develops can be as long as ten weeks, which can make it hard to pinpoint exactly which food made you sick. Doctors diagnose a fever or flulike illness as listeria infection by swabbing a sample from your vagina and cervix and checking your blood. Antibiotics will treat the infection. Newborns can also be tested and treated.

Cheeses made in the United States must be made from pasteurized milk (pasteurization kills the listeria organism), so those are fairly safe. Imported soft cheeses are another story. These may include Brie, Camembert, feta, goat, Limburger, Montrachet, Neufchatel, queso fresco, and Pont-Leveque. Listeria can also be found in unpasteurized semi-soft cheeses (slightly more solid cheeses that do not grate easily and are often coated with wax to preserve moisture and extend shelf life). Semi-soft cheeses include Asiago, Belle Paese, bleu, brick, Gorgonzola, Havarti, Muenster, Port-Salut, Roquefort, and Taleggio. Listeria is not found in hard cheeses such as Cheddar, or in processed cheeses such as cottage cheese, or in yogurt.

jennylou
12-07-2005, 06:39 AM
Lunch meats can cause listeria. I heat all meats just to be sure.

As for things like bleu cheese, most in this country are pasterized, but I stayed away from them anyways. It'll be amazing how many people will critique everything that you eat, saying that you can't eat this, that or the other, that I just stayed away from the biggies, so I didn't have to deal with people.

QOTD: I immediately cut out diet Pepsi that was very hard but now i basically drink a lot of water and anything else that isn't diet. Welcome babylove and Steve's bride! H & H 9 months!!:D

QOTD: I haven't cut out anything, but then I really don't eat anything that's on the banned list(swordfish, deli meats, soft cheeses etc.). I do have one cup of regular coffee a day. Last time I was so sick I couldn't stomach coffee but this time I don't seem to have that problem. According to my doctor, caffine in small amounts isn't a problem. Everything I've read about caffine and pregnant women indicates that hard coffee/caffine drinkers (upwards of 8 cups a day) have increased risks of m/c, not those who may have a cup everynow and then. As much as I love coffee I don't even come close!;)
Deli meats should be heated before eating, which kills the bacteria.

First prenatal appointment is 12/27

Welcome, to all the new mommies-to-be!

QOTD: I stopped drinking caffinated beverages a couple of months ago, when DH and I decided we wanted to start TTC in Dec. As for eating habits...I've been eating a lot more green vegetables, but haven't really cut my junk food intake down. I'm still eating way too much pizza :o.

Luckily, I'm not a fan of soft cheeses to begin with. So, I don't really have any problems there. But, I loooove lunch/deli meat. So, I don't know what I'm going to do without it, for the next 34 weeks.

I always take sandwiches to work, for lunch. So, what do I do now?

Welcome Chimichanga!! :D

I actually had my "first" appointment today - I went to the clinic for a quantitive blood test and they did a urine test while there. DH still is disbelieving, but I have 5 positive tests, and the nurse spoke the magic words - "You're pregnant!" :D I get my results from the blood test on Friday, so looks like as long as it's positive I'm going to tell the family then! My G'pa's 73rd bday is friday, we're going out to eat to celebrate. I'd like to give him a "proud to be a great-grandpa" shirt, and let everyone figure it out from there! There will be LOTS of shouting and hollering, Im sure! :D He has heart trouble, and has always said he doubts being around for a great-grandchild, so this ought to make his night! :D As for telling everyone else, I'm going to wait a few weeks!

QOTD: I cut out Diet Coke immediately, b/c of the aspertame. I've been drinking 7-up today, and SF lemonaid & water. I had a bad caffeine addiction that I began working on as soon as we began TTC'ing. Lunch meats & such I only like hot anyway, so I'm not too concerned.

Yes, Cocoa, it's time for a nap! I'm SO sleepy today!

Welcome chimichanga!

Hub and other very recent ROs.....Do you feel like you've popped out a bit already? I lost all my baby weight plus 30 pounds and yet, I still looked five months pregnant. Being actually pregnant is just reinforcing that idea with me. I look at belly threads on ovusoft and the ROs seem to be waaaaaaaaaaay bigger than the first timers. It's almost scary that most of them are showing in a big way by 10-12 weeks!

Chimichanga

QOTD: I have cut out coffee for a few months now, so really I'm not missing anything right now. I used to have an occassional cup of tea and I'm trying not to drink it. I did eat a hot dog for dinner (forgot) and started crying when I realized what I ate. :(

DH bought me "Great Expectations" for St. Nick's day - I'm starting to read that. :D

mrstim

Jen - Did you eat the hot dog raw? From what I've read, a hot dog is ok as long as it's been heated to the point of steaming. :D Your doctor should tell you what is ok - some docs don't like ANY caffeine, some allow up to 300mcg per day! Plus, the baby doesn't take nourishment from you until 17dpo. How many dpo are you?

Chimichanga Welcome!!

Luncheon Meat Just heat in the mico till steaming if you are worried. I ate it my last pg and no issues.

Jennylou I am 10 lbs below my pre-preg weight. So far I have a bunch of bloating and almost feel like I am showing a little, but then I look in the mirror, and I am not. I am going to take a belly shot tonight for comparison purposes :). The thing is that once I start showing I will have to tell people at work and I am hoping that will be at least 10-12 weeks!

ETA - A little more nausious today than yesterday.

12-07-2005, 11:56 AM
I am a RO and I definitely can feel my stomach expanding by the minute....I can see that I will be showing much sooner than last time although I really hope that I don't gain as much as I did last time around. With my DS I gained a whopping 72 pounds!  Thank God I lost most of it I only had 10 pounds to go and then I found out I was pregnant...
For RO's who had a c-section are you having another one or will you be trying to deliver vaginal? The only reason I had a c-section was because my DS was 9lbs 14oz if this baby weighs less than 9lbs they will try to let me deliver without a c-section.

Due to prompting by jeggink, my DH and a friend of mine, I called my doctor's office to remind them I am a DES Daughter and should I be brought in prior to 8 weeks? I definitely did not get the warm and fuzzy from the nurse, who the office manager put on,and the office manager wasn't her normal cheerful self either. They both pretty much said the same thing - they can't see ectopic until 6-7 weeks, here are the symptoms to look out for, here is when to call us, and don't worry about it......I got off the phone and wanted to burst out crying, but refrained.

I am hoping I get a better feeling from the doctor.

jennylou

ROs and c/s's - I had a c/s. I hope to be able to try vbac, but I am not at the optimal 18 months between births (only 15 months), so I don't know if my OB will let me. I'm sure we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. My preference is vbac, but I won't go searching for another doc just for a vbac as I like my OB and respect her opinions.

hotdogs - as long as they're hot, you should be fine. I had a few during my last pregnancy. Chili cheese dogs are yummy piping hot. :)

jeggink
12-07-2005, 12:57 PM
Sorry Jesseybell about your drs. I know I went in at 5 wk 4 days last time and we saw the baby in the uterus and the heart beating, but we were lucky and it was really tiny. They are correct that 6-7 weeks is the 1st time they can see where the baby is at. I am going in at 6.5 weeks so we will see what we see this time. I know it won't make you feel better though. They should not have told you to not worry about it though, this is your health you are concerned about!

jesseybell
12-07-2005, 01:06 PM
What made me most pissed is they both were like 'well there is nothing we can do about it' - Ummm? Yes there is! You can get rid of it (not saying that non-chalantly) before my tube bursts....Unless it wouldn't burst that early. I can't seem to find on the net when the symptoms present themselves.

When I go for my 8 week appointment I will be very insistent, even though the appt with just with the nurse.

I will not let them try to brush off my concerns when it comes to checking my cervix often. jeggink - when did they start with you?

The nurse took my ss# so hopefully she is putting something in my chart about me calling. When I told her I was 35 it didn't phase her either.

Another deli meat question - when people talk about heating it to steaming (which is what i have read) do you have to eat it hot or can you let it cool or by cooling it can it get bacteria?

hub1176
12-07-2005, 01:14 PM
Jesseybell I know it stinks because for them it's just another day at the office, and it's obviously (and rightfully) so much more to you. Try not to let their phone manner get you down, just like with e-mail sometimes emotions are hard to convey/percieve over the phone. You have every right to demand and recieve extra care due to your circumstances so don't let their shortness get in the way of that.

Jenny - I was a couple of lbs over my pp weight but I don't feel like I'm showing. I do however have mommy tummy which hangs over my jeans....very sexy...

We are going out to dinner Saturday night to celebrate my birthday (which was last month) I'm excited since we are trying out this new Bistro. They do have escargot which I haven't had in a while, can I even eat that now?

I had a vaginal delivery with DD, but they had to vacuum her out after 2 hours of pushing, so I got an episotomy and a 4th degree laceration. I am hoping that things go a little bit better this time.

jesseybell

thank you hub1176- that was kind of what I was thinking. OB offices must get inondated with 'hysterical' newly pregnant women and they need to have a standard line to say. They just don't have the time or staff to calm down every pg woman who calls with every twinge. That is why I am so glad to have boards like this - no one ever tells you that cramping is normal when you are pg!

I have a belly too and I haven't been pg before. I never ever used to have stomach until after the wedding. Prior to the wedding I lost about 20 lbs via South Beach and I had a relatively flat stomach. Post-wedding all the weight came back on and all in my stomach:(. I guarantee that there were people here at work that thought I was pregnant months ago. jesseybell They started checking my cervix when I was ~18 weeks and I got 2-3 ultrasounds after that, partially also because of an issue with DS. They won't do an ultrasound until the baby is getting heavy enough to impact your cervix and then will check as you go on maybe once every month at the most?? It is different with different drs. I am also not sure when symptoms present themselves with an ectopic???

jeggink - the GYN I saw in October (she's not doing OB right now) said she'd recommend doing ultrasounds every 2 weeks starting at ? and ending at ? - she didn't say. I think she just said towards the end of the first trimester.
Ectopic symptoms - extreme pain on 1 side that doesn't go away, usually accompanied by bleeding and a fever. But the nurse said that while DES daughters are at a higher risk, that it is still uncommon. The incompetent cervix is more common, though still uncommon.

Talk about speaking too soon... after saying so confidently that I hadn't been feeling the pukies, today I dry heaved after eating my oatmeal and now lunch is threatening to come back up. A friend suggested I go get Saltines and ginger ale but I think my colleague (mom of three) would figure that one out a bit too fast for my liking! So will hide Saltines in my purse and put the ginger ale in a different bottle.

I'm a pudgy pre-pg - size 14/16 on a good day - and I definitely feel bloated already, though that could just be mental... I hope to gain the recommended "for overweight" 15-20lbs but if it's more than that, so be it. A healthy baby is all that matters!

Off to dry heave again. Bleurgh.

I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling sick so early in the pg!! I'm sucking on Lifesaver peppomints like crazy!

I talked to my doc just now to ask what I get at my first appt. I'll be 7w6d then, and I get a pap (joy!) bloodwork, visit with doc to talk about family history, and get this - an ULTRASOUND!! I get 4 pics to bring home, and she said I could bring a recorder just in case they can hear the heartbeat. :D I'm so excited!!

I can't wait to see what everyone else says about lunch - nothing sounds good!

julesp313

QOTD - the only thing I've changed is cutting way back on tuna. Normally I'd have two or three tuna sandwiches a week but that's going to change to once a week. Yesterday I baked some chicken breasts and I'll have that with some veggies. I always bring fruit cups and some string cheese for emergency snacking. And apparently now with the pukies coming on, I'll be bringing Saltines and ginger ale too... :) And I love cheese and jam sandwiches. Yup - strong cheddar and strawberry jam. I think it's a British thing. I'm not a freak, I swear!

ETA: MrsTim - I can't have blue (peppermint) Lifesavers in the house as I eat the entire bag in one go. However, I do know that peppermint helps with the queasies and therefore I think I am fully justified in having them at hand. And there goes my hope of not gaining more than 15lbs!!!!

QOTD -I'm still figuring out a lunch system. :) I've been taking turkey and cheese sandwiches, and zapping them for 30 sec or so to make it a kind of melt (and reheat the meat to steaming just in case). Bananas, grapes, and some fruit snacks have been about it so far for me.

When eating out, it's been Chipotle for the most part. Always choosing chicken and getting extra sour cream, etc to get that extra gram of calcium I'm sure is in there some where ;)

steve'sbride ~ {{{{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}}} This has not happened to me but when you betas are low it could also mean that you miscalculated your ovulation date, so you might actually be *less* than 13DPO. There's definitely still hope! I hope everything works out for you! Keep us posted.

***
American Baby magazine (yes, I subscribe, but only b/c I got a free subscription last time!) has an article on eating for two and what kinds of foods are off limits, what should be eaten in moderation, and what is safe. It's not totally comprehensive but it answers some of our questions about fish, cheese, etc. I"ll post the specifics when I have a minute.

Have a great day!! :)

Stupid Question....:o
Does anyone know if we can have pedicures? For some reason, I feel like that massages they do on your feet aren't good for pg women. Is this all in my head or is there some truth to this?

mrstim

I've heard it's fine. I looked it up for you! :D
MANICURE AND PEDICURE

Safe -- if you take your own instruments or have the aesthetician use a fresh set, says Victoria Koonce, spa director at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Huntington, in Pasadena, Calif. Though the chances of equipment-borne infection are low, now's no time to risk it. Other no-nos: cuticle cutting, acrylics and phthalate-containing polishes (phthalate-free options: L'Oreal Jet Set Nail Enamel and Urban Decay polishes). Stevesbride - thinking stick thoughts for you! I haven't had a beta done but I got very faint tests from 12DPO (they did get fainter) and then 18DPO was as dark as the control line. So hopefully your betas will do their thing!

Babylove - I haven't heard about foot massages being an issue, but I know the fumes from the polish might not make you feel good. Also, some polishes have something in them that's not known whether it's safe or not - and of course I can't recall what that is. Will have to Google it... I'm planning a non-polish pedi for the holidays unless I can find a list of pg-safe polishes and take my own.
ETA: Mrstim found it before I even had a chance to look! I knew there were at least a couple of polishes that were safe.

Mmm, rare steak - I love rare steak! Though admittedly the thought of it right now makes me want to heave. How sad... What's sadder (pity party alert!) is that our firm's holiday dinner is at a restaurant known for it's seafood, particularly King crabs - I'm guessing that falls under the "shellfish - DON'T" list... :( Ah well, I'll have chicken. I'm sure I'll cope! :)

mrstim
12-08-2005, 08:23 AM
BabyLove - I can't wait to see what your list says, DH asked for whiting fish tonight, and it's not on the list as to how much mercury it has. I've already had it once before I knew I was pg.

I'm lamenting the loss of rare steak as well - we've not had it in a while and were planning on going to an awesome steakhouse for my birthday this month. It'll be worth it, though!

I have a really sore throat today and am feeling generally cruddy. I'm going to take my vitamin c, drink plenty of water, and take it easy today. :)

QOTD: How are you telling the family??

My family will know tomorrow night. My G'pas 73rd bday is tomorrow, and we're going out to celebrate. He has heart trouble, and never expected to make it to being a great-grandfather. All my family will be there, and for his gift I'm giving him a shirt that says "Proud to be a Great-Grandfather." When he shows the gift, it should be self-explanatory - since I'm the oldest grandchild out of 3 - my bro & sis are both preteens.

My husbands family we're telling a little differently - My IL's are notorious for having picture albums, she has them numbered by year, and is up to like 43 albums. I'm getting her a new album, with the first picture spot saying "This album is reserved for pics of BabyT - due in August. Then my SIL & BIL are being told seperately, b/c they've been dealing with infertility for almost 2 years now. I'm dreading it so bad, b/c they've been trying so long, and we got pregnant so fast. Her only brother was beheaded in a car accident long ago, and his only brother is my husband, so we'll be the only way she becomes an aunt. I'm taking her a bib that says "I love my Aunt Reese." We chose to tell them seperate and quietly so that it's not pressure on her, since I know her happiness will be bittersweet.

Other Family & friends can just find out however, I'm sure through the grapevine!

Thanks, MrsTim & jules! Who knew that some nail polishes are bad?! Yikes! I'm going to have to figure out if Essie polishes are ok, b/c they are my favorite. (And I promise to post the food list tomorrow since I don't have time to do it today)

QOTD: Telling family -- Well, I told my mom and dad already. I did a big "reveal" the first time I was pg and it ended in m/c so I didn't want to do that again. I think K told his brother, but made it seem like it was "unofficial" (as in "it looks good, but we don't know for sure"....thank god most guys are clueless enough that they accept this as true! LOL!). I'll have to do something creative to tell my brothers (17 and 19 yrs old) b/c they will be soooo excited to become uncles (they have been asking for years!). But we are waiting a while before we tell them. ILs....not sure when we are telling either after my last blood test results come in or when we see the heartbeat. If we can wait to see the heartbeat, I will frame the u/s pic and give it to them.

Gotta get back to work!

QOTD: We're probably going to tell everyone on Christmas. I'm looking for some cute "grandpa" and "grandma" items for my parents and his mom. Any ideas?

jesseybell

We plan on telling my family on Christmas, though I am a little hesitant to do it. But my mom went through so many losses herself so she'll know to be cautious, but I know she'll want to know regardless. I originally had bought a "I Love my Grandma" bib, but instead I bought a book for each of my parents. When I was little I was always buying my dad '101 Uses for a Dead Cat' books because he hates cats and I wanted one so badly. I found a kid's book online '40 Uses for a Grandpa' and I bought another kids book about Grandmothers.

We are not sure when we'll tell his family. His sister and mom and grandmother live in Florida so it will be over the phone. We probably will end up telling his dad over the phone as well. We are seeing him this weekend to celebrate Christmas, but we aren't prepared to tell them so soon. For a while we were thinking of waiting until the end of February, but I doubt we'll wait.

Chimichanga

We're also going to tell our immediate family at Christmas. DH wants to do another test on the 23rd to make sure things are still "positive".

We have seperate parties for both families - all of our sisters are there too. We're going to give his mom a bag of baby yarn and a note saying: "Hi Grandma. I know I'll be seeing you in August, but I was wondering if you'd make me a blanket or two to keep warm? See you and Grandpa in about 8 months! Love Baby M"

I got a photo frame with three openings for my parents. I'm going to put a note in there for my parents saying: "Hi Grandma and Poppa. I can't wait to have my picture on the mantel. Put this up as a place holder for me until I can get you something more formal in August. Love Baby M"

Got this from United Press International:

CINCINNATI, April 19 (UPI) -- Two big U.S. cosmetics makers are dropping a common chemical from nail polish because the chemical has recently been deemed a health concern.

Cincinnati's Procter & Gamble said it would reformulate its Max Factor and Cover Girl polishes and New York's Estee Lauder said it would redo its Clinique and MAC lines, among others, to eliminate di-n-butyl phthalate, or DBP.

The two companies already have removed DBP from their European products over that region's concerns about DBP's effect on women of child-bearing years, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

However, the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association, the trade association representing the $29 billion U.S. industry, said DBP presents no health risk.

"This is more a matter of politics than of science," said Gerald McEwan, vice president for science at the Washington-based group.

Still, some evidence indicates DBP can cause adverse reproductive effects in laboratory animals, particularly among the male offspring of females exposed to high levels.

Scary stuff! But obviously there ARE some safe polishes. I wish I knew for sure OPI was safe - I lurve OPI. :)

QOTD - well, I have told my mum and three very close friends only. DH, on the other hand, took out a billboard practically - he told MIL and that's worse than announcing it in the Times!!! She's told everyone she knows - and some people she doesn't know! My dad is arriving from England next week so we'll tell him then. I'm hoping to not tell work for at least the first tri, just to be safe.

Hello Ladies,

I hope you are all doing well. As far as myself thank God I am doing well actually feeling great I don't want to jinx myself. I am having a completely different pregnancy this time around. Maybe it's a girl! :D

I just wanted to say a quick hello because I am flying to Virginia tomorrow morning and will not be back to work until Tuesday.

QOTD: We are telling our families on Christmas also. I got my DS a sweater that says- I am going to be a big brother and he will be wearing it that day...hopefully they all decide to read it....

Have a great weekend ladies! hopefully I will be back with good news from my doc's appointment....

I love a nice medium rare steak. It's one of the things that I missed most during my first pregnancy. By the end, I was telling DH that I wanted to go to the Roadhouse for a nice big beer and a med rare steak.

telling people - dh has a big mouth, so most people on his side of the family know. My evil half sister decided to blab to everyone on my dads side of the family, so she ruined telling for me. I still get to tell my grandpa, but I almost fear what his reaction will be. I know he'll be happy, but he was the one who told me I needed to get over Andrew, so let's just hope it's not something like that.

jessey with my first I must have called the dr's office once a day the first few months. I was convinced that since it had taken so long to concieve the pregnancy would not go well....Honestly I thoughtt the nurse would start answering the phone "What now Kate?..":)

QOTD: Not sure when we are telling, or how. Last time we had pic frames with a message saying "batten down the hatches - baby S due 6/16/05" we have no plans to tell at Christmas but who knows!

Wow, this thread moves so fast! I can read at work, but I can't post, and when I get home, I usually don't have time to be on the computer.

Sorry no time for individual S/O's. But WELCOME to all the new members!

QOTD: RO's--so far I don't feel like I am showing already, but I have been bloated.

Telling People: We have already told both of our families, and a few close friends, we did the same with DD, since we believed that if anything were to happen we would want the support. I am not telling everyone at work yet, but I did have to tell the people in my office since I just about passed out the other day moving some small items around. LOVELY! My DH is telling more people because he is so excited again.

I went in to see the doctor this week, and got all the paperwork done, I also saw the nurse, and got 7 vials of blood drawn yesterday, and have my first appointment with the baby doc on 19 December 2005 at 2pm

Anyway, I have to go and get Ryleigh ready for bed! Take care!

Later....

I think this pregnancy ride is going to be one emotional bitch of a roller coaster. An hour ago, I had a good size dollop of pink-tinged CM which has since had me in the bathroom nine times checking for other signs of anything going wrong. My stomach is cramping because I'm so tense (but it's definitely my stomach and not other regions). I don't know how you get past the fear that now you've gotten pregnant, you may not STAY pregnant. Any suggestions???? (btw, Hub's post hits home with me - that's going to be me...)

4wk 5day

OK DS is in bed and I have a minute finally.

julesp313 I to am having spotting, today and 2 days ago. I had this with my last pg and everything turned out fine. Still scary though.

Dukes Flygirl OMG the bloating has been so painful, I almost took a tylenol today cause it was like bad AF cramps. 7 vials, yikes! We are not telling anyone at work either, but since I am experiencing more nauseau day by day it seems, I am not sure how long it will last  .

meat It should be cooked to well done. I don't eat much meat so I am making sure I get extra now. Last time I developed an aversion to chicken, fish and red meat (except tacos). I never got rid of the fish aversion.

jennylou That is horrible!!! She should never have said anything!

mloveya We were going to do that as well, but the family guessed :(.

mrstim Hope all goes well with telling the great-grandpa!

Foot Masages I believe they are fine as long as they don't massage your ankle. Some won't even do it while pg, just FYI.

Steve's Bride Crossing my fingers for you!!!

Everything is going OK here. The nauseau is picking up at times. The last time I had evening sickness only, starting at about 4-5 pm so I never had problems at work. This time so far I am getting nausious at any time of the day, so slightly different. I did have red spotting again today but it went away quickly. I am just crossing my fingers at this point and waiting till my appointment.

I thought I would post a belly pic now and from my last pg.
This pg, 4wk5day

I don't think there is much difference yet. I won't probably take another pic till ~8-9 weeks unless I start seeing a difference. My pants still fit quite well, except the ones that were already a bit tight.

I'm so jealous of ^^that^^!! Judi, You look AWESOME to be on your second baby! I've never been that small, so I probably won't show for a while! I'm a size 14, so I'm sure it might take a while for my fat roll to turn into a baby bump! I like the idea of taking weekly belly shots!

I can very well relate to everyone's posts about being scared! I'm terrified that since it was so quick and easy for me to get pregnant, I'll lose the baby. I so expected it to be a hard and long process! That's my greatest fear! Esp. since I was supposed to start on Saturday, when instead I'm exactly 4w pregnant, I'm scared to death that I'm going to start bleeding. I'll feel lots better once it's more than just you guys and Tim & I knowing about this pg!

mrstim It took me a year and I am still breastfeeding, so that helps. It definately takes a while to get your pre-pg body back after the baby is born, but it can be done. I am actually a size 10 but was ~12-14 when I got pg with DS, but I am 5'10" so it gets distributed better cause I am shaped like a boy .

mrstim
12-08-2005, 06:14 PM

julesp313 - I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday! I wiped and saw pink tinged cm and was on google in a flash seeing what it could mean. I only saw it the one time, and believe me I've checked every wipe since very closely...

In other news...

I went to the doctor today since i've had a cold since sunday. I wasn't sure what I could or could not take, so I've lived on water and OJ as my only remedies. She said it was OK to keep taking my Allegra-D i already had, and prescribed zithromax and histussin for my cough. It's only been a few hours since I took my pills but I can already breathe again! I'm so happy

jennylou

mrstim - I had no problem getting the weight off. BUT, it is distrubuted much differently this time. I have started taking weekly belly shots. It's a scary thing to realize that your 5 week shot looks nearly identical to one I took about five months along. But, it's because even though I've lost weight elsewhere, it has stayed in the gut. Plus, my muscles in my gut aren't back up to the strength that they were before. And, I was bigger to start with, but never really carried weight in my belly. That said, I had a c/s so it may be that the muscles haven't completed healed yet.

I'm going to have to start toting snacks with me because I'm finding when I'm slightly hungry, two minutes later and I'm ready to eat my own arm - the hunger is dire! Plus if I don't eat immediately, I feel queasy.

You ain't gettin' no stinkin' belly shots from me! I already look half way gone and I'm not even five weeks! I think it's going to take a good few months for my belly to go from "fat and flabby" to "obviously pregnant" and I can't wait! As much as I'm dreading being majorly pg in the hottest months of the year (this July, we had a record high of 117), it will be a delight to be able to wear BIG shorts and BIG pregnant tank tops and flaunt my belly like it's something to be worshipped, not hidden and derided. :D

Jeggink and MaryTX- from what I'm reading, spotting is very common and can be absolutely normal and not a sign of anything except total paranoia on the newly pregnant and slightly deranged woman's part (that would be me!). Doesn't stop me freaking out every time but it does help me calm down... :)

And now I must have Panda Express fried rice or someone will pay dearly...

As for being majorly pg during the hottest months of the year, bring it on, baby. I can't wait to wear a bikini w/ a big ole' belly! (remind me I said that in about 7 months!). Besides, all the cute maternity clothes are for the summer anyway!

Goodneess Gracious, you guys are way to fast for me!

Well, here is an update for me. I finally got home today and was able to make an appointment with the Doctor. I called a few places and ended up making an appointment with one that had the most friendly receptionist....I am so excited!

1st appointment Tuesday, December 13th 1pm

Just for fun I took a digital test, at my DH's urging, (b/c he wanted to see the words:)) while at my parents house and of course it said "pregnant". Then, today I took the final line test that I had here on hand...and the result line was way darker than the test line!!!

QOTD: Once we get final confirmation from the doctor, we have decided to tell the family via individual Christma gifts. We went to Babies R Us the other night and bought various baby picture frames (unique for each person) and in the frame we are going to put a message from the baby...such as

"Merry Christmas from Baby Lastname. I can't wait to officially met you ~ August 112th, 2006"

Any suggestions on the wording would be appreciated:)

As far as being pregnant the hottest months of the year (I am in Vegas) I am actually llooking forward to it. Although I am very bummed that I actually can't go on the lake....:(

JULESP313...I totally understand what you are going through/ I too, feel the same way. I have experiencing cramping off and on (with an occassional somewhat sharp one) and I keep on wondering what in the world that could mean. I wish I had suggestions, but all I can say is that you are not alone. YOu want to know something kind of sad...I am scared to have sex right now because I don't know what that will do to the baby....my DH thinks I am crazy!.

Question for all.....are any of your taking prenatals....either prescription or Over the Counter?

babylove

*groan* Only 4 weeks and let the queasies begin...blah. I don't know about you all, but I am terrified of morning sickness. I'm a lawyer and I go to court all the time, so I am so afraid that I'll have to puke during a hearing!

But I digress...

PLNUBRIDE ~ Let's just say, DH won't be having sex for quite a while! My dr says it's fine (and even encourages it), but I'm not taking the chance!

QOTD - Prenatals - I am currently taking over the counter prenatals (Stuart Prenatal, purple bottle), which my doctor said is totally fine. However, he is going to give me an rx for Premesis (sp?) which is a prenatal that has extra B6 to help combat m/s, should I need it. I'm not sure if I want to take the chance with switching at this stage of the game though...

Good morning ladies!

I am feeling horrid this morning and loving every minute of it! :D Seriously though, this is TMI but I have room clearing gas, it woke my husband and cat out of a sound sleep last night. They both ran from the room.

I have my second blood test this afternoon. My last HPT from yesterday was ever so slightly darker than the others and my period was due yesterday and never showed. I'm feeling pretty confidant that if the blood test doesn't come back positive today, it will Monday.

I'm completely looking forward to hot weather being pregnant, I live in the frozen tundra known as North Dakota and I could use some hot weather right about now. ;)

We already told all of our family and friends just because we're like that and enjoy being close, good news, or bad.

Lately all I want to eat is cheez-its and OJ. It’s an interesting combination. So I got them with added protein and calcium. I figure if I’m going to eat it I might as well pack as many vitamins in as I can.

Well, girls, wish me luck on today's test and I’m thinking of all of you!

Jenny - is pelvic rest a good idea if you're spotting? I'm still having on and off spotting and David won't come near me (which makes it easier than me having to say no!).

Mrstim - aren't sore boobs the worst???? Mine are very very bad today - I can't fathom them growing beyond a DD but I have a very bad feeling they'll grow to ZZZ or something!

PLNU - having never been pg before, I have no clue what's normal and what's "call the dr and panic" so I'm figuring unless I'm either cramping like AF or bleeding like AF, I should just chalk it up to "normal" and try and stay calm. ETA: where in Vegas are you? I'm in Henderson, out at the 95 and Wagonwheel... and why can't we go to the lake this summer?????

Babylove - great numbers!!! :)

Prenatals - I have Target generics. When I went for my pre-conception check up in July, the dr said as long as you're taking a prenatal rather than just a multi-vitamin, you should be fine. I will ask about B6 to help with the MS though...

I'm kinda queasy today, tiny bit of spotting, but generally feeling good. Dr's appt next Thursday and I can't WAIT. :D

THe only other thing I am worried about is that I was diagnosed with BV some time ago and I have been reading that it can be treated while pregnant but there is not definative ruling as to whether it helps or hurts the baby...

JULESP313....I think I now remember you from the "relocating" thread. I too, live off of Wagonwheel and the 95:). As far as the lake, I guess I just assumed riding in my parents boat would be a no-no in the 3rd Trimester. Also, wondering if all the sun exposure would be a good idea (as far as dehydration and whatnot). However, I suppose I could still sit on the beach:)

Yup, I remember now... I think I sent you some very long-winded emails about moving states! Ooh, your parents have a boat? Hi, new best friend... :D I would think the only thing that might keep you off the boat is the heat and motion, if you were feeling queasy... otherwise, if you can get in the shade and drink plenty of water, it might be a fabulous way to cool down when we get our delightful summer weather. ;)

babylove - great numbers!!

PLNUBRIDE - I too battle BV every now and again. I was treated with metro gel during my last pregnancy which my OB assured me was very safe. I find that if I eat yogurt(which you may not be able to stomach right now!) and wash the nether regions with antibacterial soap I don't have to deal with symptoms. FWIW my OB also thinks the risks of BV for pg women are overblown.

Sex - not only has my drive gone on hiatus, the very thought makes me want to throw up. It's a good thing we have a very satisfying sex life typically or DH would probably start thinking there was something wrong with him!

M/S Yesterday was awful! I felt nauseated all day. This am I threw up, luckily I still had some Zofran from the last time and took that. Still feel icky but at least not throwing up. I am going to call my Dr. and have them call in a script for more. Last time I lost 5 days of work due to severe m/s and since I just started doing daycare can't afford to do that.
I have also started going to be right after I put DD down for the night, usually around 8:00....

PLNUBRIDE - My doc told me that there was something going on down there, but didn't really explain anything and gave me a prescription. Come to find out the prescription was for BV! I haven't taken it yet b/c everything I've read said there aren't any conclusive evidence as to what it does to a baby but they advise (for that particular med) to take in the 2nd and 3rd tri. I plan on asking my doc about it when I see her next week. I know I could just call the nurse but I tend to think they think I'm a pain in the ass.

babylove - awesome betas! :)

jules - my OB advised that until we see the heartbeat, mainly because your cervix is so tender right now and having sex can aggravate it causing spotting. I think she basically just doesn't want me freaking out!

Is it wrong for me to wish for MS? Besides boobs that feel like rocks, I've had no other symptoms. Well, I'm ready for bed at 7 every night, but I've also been working 50 hours a week or so.

Last night I ate something that just did NOT agree with me. I woke up around 2 with stomach cramps (not uterus cramps). I was sobbing in the bathroom so I wouldn't wake DH up. I was so expecting to see spotting today or a huge gush of blood - nothing. I'm glad there's nothing! :D

QOTD: i've been on prenatals for about 3 months. My doctor wanted me on them because I was slightly low on iron. I get prescripts - not too costly.

I have 18 more days until my first appointment - so bummed they couldn't fit me in early. I tried telling the nurse I've had craziness with my cycles previously, but she wouldn't budge. I suppose they get every woman saying stuff like that.

...stopping by with CONGRATS for all of you!!! :D

Don't be surprised when you're wishing your life away, waiting to get to the next milestone. I'm now counting the days till I get to hear the heartbeat at my 12 week appointment! But try to enjoy it!!!

QOTD: I've been taking PreCare Chewables, for about 3 months. My OBGYN prescribed them, when I told here we wanted to TTC in Dec.

Question for all.....are any of your taking prenatals....either prescription or Over the Counter?

I am taking the PreCare pills you swallow whole. I actually still have a huge bag of samples I'm working through, and omg do I hate the PreCare whole tablets. There is a smell to them I find wretched, no amount of water or chocolate soymilk seems to drown it when I pop one.

The NP, when she gave me the samples a lil while back, said I'd probably want to take them at night before bed since most of them don't taste so great... she was right! so far they are all equally gross to me.

I do have a sample of the chewables, I'll try that one next...

The chewables aren't bad at all...thank goodness. I can't swallow any pill bigger than bcps, so these are a godsend.

I have been taking the Target prenatals since June. I used to take GNC regular multi-vitamins before ttc but the pills were so big and you had to take 2 of them so I ending up skipping them. So the target ones are reasonable size and you only take 1.

My prenatals are making me gag lately. I'm going to ask about a liquid form as I thought the chewables were nasty.

qotd I'm taking Spring Valley Prenatals - I bought them at Walmart, they're like $10 for 200 of them. There's 800mcg of folic acid.

I got my blood test results back, the nurse couldn't tell me if they were positive or not b/c they had just the number on the report. 11DPO (or maybe 10 b/c I'm not positive which day I ovulated) beta number was 26. Seems low, but they said on the paper that below 5 is not pregnant. :D Sometimes I hate living in such a small town, where the nurse isn't so knowledgeable. I actually asked the pharmacist if they had digital pg tests & he said "I didn't know they made those - how do they work??"

jennylou
12-09-2005, 01:35 PM
mrstim - my draw at 12 dpo was 46 this go around. Last time it was 120-something at the same time. It all depends when you implanted.

babylove
12-09-2005, 01:35 PM
MrsTim ~ 26 is definitely pg! And it's right in the range of normal for 11 DPO. I can't believe the pharmacist didn't know that digital tests were out there! My OB didn't know that the Dollar Store made pgcy tests!

QOTD I bought prenatals at Kmart, they are the same as the Stuart ones and the Walmart and Target brand. I think the Target brand are the cheapest though. Anyway, I used those all my last pg, my OBGYN told me that they were fine but at 20 weeks to start taking 1000mg per day of fish oil. You have to make sure the fish oil is peticide and metal free. I think I found mine at a vitamin store and just asked the clerk.

sex Yup, we are still having it but infrequently. I had forgotten how great pg sex really is :D .

Babylove Great Betas!

MrsTim Wow, didn't know what a digital test was??? How weird?? Glad your betas show you are pg.

m/s Nausious on and off all day, but nothing horrible yet.

QOTD - So what have you been craving? I have been craving white rice (real stuff) with spicy Thai peanut sauce in it and orange juice to drink like crazy. This is my 3rd day in a row of having rice. Also, I usually don't drink much OJ cause of the heartburn, but now I am downing it and wanting more with no issue. Last time I craved burgers, but white rice now, how weird???

I haven't been craving anything :( Although tonight I did wolf down some major Taco Bell. I haven't had that since college....

I have been getting hit with major bouts of hunger. My goodness - all of a sudden I'm just *starving*. It comes about every 2-3 hours or so. Man, i need to eat something to feel better.

M/S still not - but I get kind of queasy at night. I guess I have N/S :D

This thread moves Super fast!

I won't try to do SO's again today, sorry! I just don't want to miss anyone.

But I will answer all the QOTD's:

1) Prenatals: I have been taking the Materna brand Prenatals since about 6 months before we TTC Ryleigh, and I am still taking them. I get them through the pharmacy on the base, so it is really easy. They tried to switch to a generic brand, and it had way more iron in it, so I couldn't stomach it, and they switched me back to Materna.

2)BDing? What is that? We haven't BDed since about 3 days before we got our BFP. I am so tired at night, and I fall asleep soon after I get Ryleigh to bed at 8pm!

3)Cravings? Nothing yet, but I have been enjoying my veggies more again. I was the same way with DD.

I have a question for you ladies that mentioned BV, what is it?

I hope that you all have a great weekend! We got dumped on in our first snowfall last night, so DH is outside trying to plow the driveway, and shovel the walkway. Our road hasn't been plowed yet either. So much for us going out today! Oh well! I will have to do groceries on Monday after work! (As we are the only province in Canada WITHOUT Sunday shopping!)

Morning ladies!
I had a minor freak out this morning b/c I realized that I slept until almost 8 and didn't wake up starving. The past few mornings I've been up before the sun w/ a ravenous appetite. I just have to keep repeating the mantra that it's ok for symptoms to come and go (right?!). I have more cramps today too...I think it's because AF usually comes today or tomorrow. I just have to get to the point where I see something on the u/s and then I will feel just the tiniest bit of relief. *sigh* I think I'm going to worry myself to death!!

Some good info for my other August mommies:
1. I was lurking in the July mommies thread and found two great websites, Betabase (www.betabase.info) and Pregnancy Calendar (http://parenting.ivillage.com/pregnancy/calendar).

2. And finally, info from the article in American Baby magazine:

Red-Light Foods
Because of the salmonella risk, restaurant-made Caesar salad dressing, homemade eggnog, raw cookie dough, any egg dish in which the entire egg is not fully cooked; because of the parasite risk sushi with the exception of California rolls or anything cooked, juice sold at farm stands (like cider) that may not have undergone pasturization; because of possible contaminants like high levels of methyl-mercury (a pollutant) stay away from swordfish, shark and tilefish.

Yellow-Light Foods
caffeine (300 mg per day or 2-3 8-oz cups of coffe are ok), hot dogs and cured meats (bacon, sausage) b/c of the nitrates and additives, diet soda (though saccharin does cross the placenta); up to 12-oz per week total (roughly 2 meals) of salmon, catfish, pollack, shrimp and canned light tuna (of those 12 oz, only 6 oz should come from canned white albacore tuna which contains more mercury than light tuna).

Green-light Foods
Soft cheeses like brie, feta, gorgonzola are now allowed by the FDA (!) during pgcy as long as they are made from pasturized milk, as is most cheese made in the US; deli meat is fine as long as it is heated (steaming) first, veggie burger, bean burritos, chicken salad, fruits and veggies, rewash bagged lettuce and all fruit/veggies to avoid dragging germs into the flesh.

All in all, some good info. Hope it helps!

I could have written this post myself!

Last night I went to bed literally in tears b/c of my sore boobs! I had to lay there w/o anything on at work, b/c I couldn't handle material on them at all. Then I woke up this morning and they're not sore. I felt great, with the exception of my head cold. I began to get worried, until I was fixing breakfast and the sausage, gravy, biscuits and eggs smell all hit me at once - I about literally tossed my cookies! I had some apple juice, so I guzzled it the whole time I was cooking. I still feel queasy.... :(

Telling the family went wonderfully!! I'll copy from my journal:

My family -
Things didn't go as planned, I ended up telling them IN the restaraunt. Actually, my great-aunt & other grandma ended up coming, so I had my parents, my siblings, great aunt, both grandparents, and us. I wanred the hostess that I was telling them tonight - and if she heard hollering, it was happy excitement. She spread it through the staff, so I was peppered with congrats all night. I ended up telling my mom alone, b/c I couldn't wait. I took her to the bathroom with me, on the way she asked if I was pregannt. I blew it off, when I got in the bathroom I told her, and she said "ARE YOU SURE!!" then began fanning herself, hugging me, being really excited. She went and got my dad, brought him back in front of the bathrooms, (which was in sight of the kitchen, so I had an audience the whole time, the staff was staring!) and Tim came and we told my dad. His knees buckled, and Tim caught him. He and mom couldn't eat at all - they picked at their food, they were so excited. My great aunt whispered to me "I think you're pregnant." Papa opened his gift, read his shirt out loud, and tripped up when it came to the "great-grandpa" part. He cried, my grandma shouted, bro & sis just sat there. They didn't get it, so I had to tell them

My bro was SO excited, he hollered "I'm gonna be a grandpa!" He meant uncle, but it was SO cute!

SIL & BIL
Now you'll remmeber that they're the ones struggling with infertility. We actually got there before them, but let ourselves in and just hung out. We talked with htem for about 20 minutes, before I gave her an "early xmas gift" I gave her a picture frame with a note in the picture place "Dear Aunt Reece, I can't wait to have my picture taken with you. I can't wait to meet you in August. Love, Baby! She read it, grabbed me, dropped the picture frame, bag and all, and just bawled. BIL couldn't figure out what was going on, so Tim said "We're going to have a baby!" BIL tackled Tim and started laughing! We talked for a while, she was ok. She took me by the face & said "Don't you feel bad, it'll be our turn someday, and this gives me a baby I can spoil within an inch of it's life." Whew!

Tim's parents
We went by there and gave them their gift to open. His mom read the note inside "Please reserve this album for pictures of sweet baby marshmallow, due in august. Due in August? REALLY???? ACK!" She was excited. No hugs, she just sat there & talked. His dad said "Really?? Wow." No hugs. We talked for about 10 more minutes, got up, they hugged us both, and out the door we went. Not exactly stellar reception, but much better than I expected, given that this woman didn't even like me to begin with. She's warming up to me, I can tell!

Im off to try to clean my house, do my christmas cards, ironing, and put beans on for supper...which sound disgusting. Blech.

I am feeling like crap today. Last night I got a sinus headache. Usually I just take advil and sudafed like crazy until it goes away. But I am riding this one out. I took my saline nose spray and we have a humidifier, but it didn't really help, so I still have it this morning. It is probably because of the headache I am feeling extra nauseus.

Yesterday is snowed about 18 inches yesterday. I stayed home and worked. DH didn't seem too pleased when he came home and had to shovel and clean off my car. I don't think it was because he expected me to do it and I hadn't, but I think it was because it took him about 3 hours to get home and he just wanted to relax. I am not going to act like a fragile doll, but shoveling is something I don't plan on doing, unless it is only a few inches and is really fluffy.

My ILs are coming today. I need to make sure all signs of pg are hidden away. I DO NOT want to tell them.

I'm at work. Yes, it's a Saturday but the damn client was so slow getting us the stuff we needed so we had to come in and work to catch up. It's ok - we'll only be here for a few hours and we're having In and Out for lunch and I am CRAVING a strawberry milk shake. :)

Very very queasy today - the oatmeal barely stayed down and now I'm noshing on Ritz crackers because I don't have any Saltines! Must hit the store tomorrow and stock up on anti-pukey food. Also got heartburn, I think - it feels weird. Boobs are beyond sore - I woke myself up last night because I was squishing one of them under my pillow (I have one of those long body pillows) and it HURT!

Jules - that was sooooooooooo wrong of you to mention In N Out. I could go for a double double with fries and a strawberry shake myself.

snow shovelling - for the second year in a row, I will not be doing any of that.

mrstim - glad telling the families went well. :)

Chimichanga - I have had taco bell twice this week. :o I love me some burrito supremes. Normally, I am satisfied with one every few months, when I'm pregnant, it seems I could eat there every single day.

Well I don't think I am quite ready to join yet, those of you who know me from the WC days or from LJ will understand why. However, I did want to come in here for a quick peek.

I just got a BFP 3 days ago and am causiously excited. I hope to officially join soon. I still have to get a blood test done at the Drs to confirm the PGcy. Congrats to all you ladies and I am overly thrilled to see some of my longtime TTC buddies in here.

I swear I will not become the neurotic one in this thread...but...can someone please reassure me...I'm crampy. Not horrible, but there, on and off. Today or tomorrow is when AF should have arrived if I weren't pg, so I'm hoping that's why. And my bbs, though they are sore, don't seem as sore as before...please tell me I'm overreacting. I keep expecting to go to the bathroom and see red (constant panty patrol!), but after having a m/c last time, I'm hypersensitive!

babylove ~ I was lurking and saw your question. Thought I'd answer since it gets slow in here on the weekend. All of us June mommies went through this to. Cramping is normal when it comes and goes and is not accompanied with any bleeding. If you have bleeding contact your doctor. Right now your little one is digging in deeper and that's what will cause the cramping at first. The BB pain will come and go. It's all completely normal.

Jenny - sorry! If it makes you feel any better, the delicious cheeseburger and milkshake that I just snarfed down is now threatening to come back up in a big way... :(

MSH -cautious congrats! And welcome... :)

Babylove - I haven't had cramping but I've been spotting since day 1 and so far, things appear to be OK (though I haven't been to the dr's yet). I think our bodies are doing all sorts of wacky things that we have no clue about so I'm trying to stay calm when mine does things I would normally panic over!

I am DOG TIRED. I seriously need to sleep right now. I got 8 hours of solid sleep last night and I have been needing a nap since about 10am. I'm just trying to get through one more hour here at work and then the short drive home and then I'm crashing and GOD HELP DH if he argues with me. :D

MSH-Cautious Congrats to you, and welcome!

babylove: I have been cramping off and on since before I found out I was PG. I think I remember this from the last time too, and it went away in about 2 or 3 weeks. Thanks for that list of foods! Good things to know!

julesp313: I hope that you were able to get your nap yesterday! Sorry to hear about your food threatening a reappearance! We don't have an In and Out here, so I don't know what it is...but the milkshake does sound yummy!

jennylou: Glad you get out of snow shovelling again! My DH has a plow this year! Much better than shovelling the 120foot driveway! We got about 12 inches on Friday night, so he was out playing with the plow most of the morning!

mrstim: I'm glad telling everyone went so well! I had tears in my eyes reading it! Damn Hormones!

jesseybell:[/B] I hope you are feeling better today!

As for me, I feel like hell today! I was rocking Ryleigh earlier, and I just about lost my cookies! I don't remember feeling like that with Ryleigh! UGH! I didn't have a good night sleep last night either, so that could be the problem, and it wasn't Ryleigh keeping me up!

I hope you all have a great Sunday!

dukes flygirl ~ Thanks! As much as the cramping scares me, I kind of like it b/c it's a little harmless reminder of what's going on! :)

So far we have spilled the beans to both sets of parents, BIL and SIL. It was nice to be able to tell them. Everyone is thrilled, though both sets of parents are more cautiously excited b/c they know what happened last time.

As for me, I'm having minor cramping on and off (mostly in the mornings) and my bbs are still sore, but not unbearable. I often poke them just to make sure they still hurt! :p No nausea yet, thank god. Overall, I'm feeling tired and just don't have the energy to run around like I usually do. Oh and even though my appetite is not as ravenous as it was earlier in the week, I still find that I'm getting hungry sooner after eating. But I'm doing pretty well with choosing healthy foods (for now!).
