Seeing What Happens
11-29-2005, 04:11 AM
WHO ARE WE ???
A group of CC ladies who are Trying To Concieve(TTC) without temping(taking your temperature before rising out of bed every morning), and "charting" these temperatures on a grid. (Although some do have charts to keep track of their information.) This group of ladies are just "Seeing What Happens". We do keep track of what Cycle Day(CD)we are on and perhaps note any changes in our body. We would love to hear about what you are going through. We understand the trials, tribulations and many doctor appointments that you are facing on this journey into parenthood. No question is too "stupid", asked too often, nor is any "vent" that you may have unnecessary.

This thread may move quickly at times, but don't be afraid to jump in on the last page. You don't have to read through the entire thread before you join us. The first few posts on page one are some introductory info to help everyone out as well as provide many useful links to other sites with in depth information on certain topics. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over to the most recent "Seeing What happens" thread. This thread starts at the beginning of each new month.

WANNA JOIN US ?

Just introduce yourself and post your statistics so we can get to know you a little better and add you to the list of "Our Family " members which is shown in the second post on the first page. Please post these intro stats in red so that you won't be missed. Wanna lurk and ask questions? Just post away....

I'm at CD28 today. Took a test yesterday - BFN :(

AF is due in 3 days, but what's weird is that I haven't gotten any PMS symptoms (which I always get about a week before and until AF arrives...)

I hope that December will be our lucky month - we really wanted to tell our parents at our annual New Year's family dinner...

CD 11 for moi....tried BD'ing last night, and opperative word is *try*. I used to be a loyal user of lube, but since reading that lube can kill spermies, we've nixed it and the "natural way" just ain't working until I get some better CM in a few days :p

anyone else feel...erm...weird talking so *openly* about their relations and CM, LOL. Geez, I know I'm an open person (with my friends), but it's like TTC give you an open door to talk freely about *everything* ;)

Glad to be joining you ladies but I honestly hope I am going to be leaving soon!;) I haven't had any more cramping but I haven't really had any pg symptoms either. I am planning on testing tomorrow...I think. I am starting to chicken out. I am not sure exactly when I O'ed and I am afraid I am going to get a BFN. I am probably going to do it anyway and hope that I get a BFP. I will be on CD 32 which is the longest any of my cycles have been for a long time.

Sorry no shout outs but I have pretty busy tonight! Good luck to anyone else testing soon and anyone bd'ing. Let's all get our Christmas miracles this month!

You should try Fem Glide - its great stuff and is sperm friendly. I bought mine at drugstore.com

Well that's what I read in the TCOYF book. I never even considered checking the back of the bottle to see if it's ok.

*running to bedroom to grab the bottle*

We use "Wet" brand, "Wet Platinum" sillicone based. Doesn't say anything on the bottle about being "sperm friendly". I'm going to look at their website. This brand is the only one so far that I don't have a reaction to, so I'm weary of trying Fem Glide.

ETA: from their website : Are Wet products ok to use when I’m trying to conceive or I’m pregnant?
Because the preservative agents in Wet products may kill some sperm, you should discuss this with your medical professional to be absolutely sure.
DANG!!

Hmmm... we use Astroglide (love it!) and I assume since it's water based that it's sperm friendly. However, I do know for sure that pre seed is perm friendly. There must be a thread on here somewhere... I'll go check family planning, and if not I'll start a thread! lol.

P.S. Still feeling yucky... I'm really hoping this has something to do with a future BFP!

mrstim
12-01-2005, 07:59 PM
Hmm...my bottle of Walmart brand KY says "this product is not spermicide & cannot be used as a contraceptive" which I'm assuming means that some have gotten pregnant with it! Crossing all crossables - I'm only 5 DPO!!

Ericka_Jarett
12-02-2005, 04:42 AM
We have used Astro Glide, then we used that new KY Warming (which I think sucked, it actually hurt after a min or so due to causing friction, gets sticky) now we use ID Millenium, which is silicone based. Around O time, we decided that we shouldn't have to use any lube since I am trying to keep track of my CM, hard if you have lube on that doesn't just wipe off.

Me - I went to the doctor yesterday. She is sending me to get an insulin fasting test done, she thinks that my cycles are irregular (usually 33-34 days long, but last month was 38 days and month before that was 32 days) She also said I am Oing too late (usually CD 22-23) Guess I always thought it was ok because it would be close to 15 days from when my period ends. She said that should my insulin level come back as high, that she will give me meds to lower it and hopefully that will regulate my cycles, it could be a mild case of PCOS. My next appt is for my annual in February, she said she hopes to see me before that though. :) She also re-cultured me from that bacteria that caused Rebekah's passing. Get those results in a week. Be great if I can get pregnant without having to go on meds. She also told me that I should continue to chart to make sure of what my cycles look like to report back to her.

Just something I found on the web:

My husband and I are trying to concieve our first child and I've read that lubricant can inhibit the sperm from reaching the egg. Is there any lubricant that is safe for baby-making sex, or are there any alternatives that may be useful? Also, I was wondering how much lubricant decreases your chances of conceiving. Is water-based just as harmful as oil-based?

Dear Reader,

You read right — lubricants can inhibit sperm from reaching the egg. What happens is the lubricant (either water based or oil based) prevents the sperm from meeting up with the normally protective, happy cervical mucous. As a result, the sperm are left out in the cold to weaken because of the icy acidity of the vagina, making it a more difficult trip up to the welcomed warmth of the uterus. They still have a long way to travel before they meet their match, so you don't want to use anything that makes their journey more difficult.

So how much lube is too much when it comes to hindering conception? Hard to say, because even a lil' dab of water-based lube, olive oil, baby oil, and even saliva can cause "diminished head movement" of the sperm. That's not the kind of sperm you want to be working with to create your offspring. You want strong swimmers with full faculties to bring the most to the event.

What is known for sure is that the natural "human made" kind of lubricant is effective in helping in conception. That means spending lots of time on pleasuring and passion, making sure the clitoris and any other erogenous zone you want touched is hot and ready before penetration. Letting the body respond to the fun will kick in the kind of wetness that can help sperm swim hard and swim long.

If things aren't getting as slippery as you'd like, you can try using warm water, which is sperm friendly. Nothing fancy — leave the seltzer and mineral water for drinking. Some evidence is showing canola oil, pharmaceutical grade mineral oil, and hen's uncooked egg white as being sperm friendly. There is also a newer product on the market called Pre-seed that touts itself as being a "sperm friendly intimate moisturizer."

The bottom line is that the type of lubricant you use can make a difference in your ability to conceive. Good luck in your efforts.

maplekitty

If things aren't getting as slippery as you'd like, you can try using ... hen's uncooked egg white as being sperm friendly.

I've read this as well....just using plain old raw egg whites. But, umm....i just don't know how I'd feel about that, you know. To me, that's kinda gross!

Ericka_Jarett
12-02-2005, 10:26 AM
I was grossed out the first time I read about that. Actually most doctors would not recommend the egg whites because of the bacteria factor. I know I wouldn't be putting an animals egg down there, yuck.

Hmm... well, I guess maybe we'll give nature a try next month if this month isn't ours. Thanks for doing that research Erika!

I'm still nto feeling fantastic, so I'm really hoping that these are PG symptoms. For now, I'm pretending they are, lol. It makes it all a little less painful, kwim?

Ugh - I'm PMSing like crazy!! I always get really down on myself and feel like a slob & ugly for about a week before my period, so I have a feeling it's on its way :( YUCK!

I guess though there's still a part of me that's causiously optimistic, but alas, I doubt it will happen this month. Hey, like I said, hope for the first, but prepare for the 12th month!

jbemommy - I know what you mean. My doctor told me last night to continue charting. I only did it half heartedly this last cycle, but more so the last 5, so that I could have some numbers to give the doctor.

jbemommy & mrstim Sorry to hear that AF is here or on her way.

Never hear of the egg white thing...don't think we will be trying that, just sounds too gross!

Hope everyone has a good weekend & chat with you all next week!

Just went to vist my friend and her 2 day old baby. She had him at home Wednesday night. I have always said I wanted to do that but I don't know I was actually sure of myself until I heard her talk about her experience. Talking DH into it would be a totally different story! Anyway, I am now obsessing again, so I thought I would post to make me feel better. CD 25 or so. I guess I will test Monday or Tues if AF doesn't show by then. I have been pretty consistent at 27 days so we'll see.

Sorry about AF Tinkerbell.

I got my HcG trigger shot on Thursday....looks like I am about 2DPO but I don't know for sure. I had about 8 or 9 follicles and my side still hurts like it might be ovulating so who knows. I go back to the RE a week from Monday for bloodwork so we'll see. My uterine lining was still too thin according to my RE so I am not getting my hopes up. I did have two mature follies though.

I hope noone minds that I stop by and say hello. I was apart of this thread on the other site since Sept 2004, but left about the July timeframe since our TTC was put on hold due to a pending out-of-state move.

Well, we moved Sept 23rd and since then our TTC has been more of a "just not trying to prevent". I have been watching this thread but have not joined.

Well, yesterday we got our 1st BFP!!! This morning I tested again, and the line was still there! Today is roughly 14DPO.

I just had to share with someone, because I am bursting at the seam. Although my DH is only 90% convinced. He has a hard time trusting something that you pee on. Don't get me wrong, he is happy he is just not sure of the testing method. Plus, my line is not that dark...but I showed him pictures here on CC and explained to him that a line is a line:)

Congratulations PLNU!!!!!!!!! H&H 9 months to you!

As for me - I'm 7DPO! I'm hoping to test on 10DPO, or I might wait, we'll see how I'm feeling by then. FPS abound, but that's perfectly normal for me, I've had them even when I was on the pill! I'm rationalizing everything away. I know yesterday I said it felt like AF was coming, but I feel fine now. Not real sure what that was all about. I'm cramping this morning, but it's not the normal PMS cramps. Hm??? I'd really like to give DH a BFP for an early xmas gift, as I'm sure all of us on here would! Good Luck everyone!

Congrats to PLNU! I wish you a very happy and healthy 9 months.

I am on CD 34. This is the longest cycle I have ever had. The longest was 32 days (last month). I am not sure when I O'ed but I had two times I thought I might have. (Nov. 14-15 or Nov. 20-21) Even with the later one I thought I would start today so I plan on testing tomorrow. I really hope this is it for us! I wasn't too sure that this month would be productive since I was sick but maybe the relaxed state helped us. I have kept the faith so I am hoping that pays off tomorrow with a BFP! Please say a prayer or keep your fingers crossed for me. I kept getting mild cramps some mornings but by the time it was long enough that I was starting to worry it would go away for the whole day.

Just checking in to the new thread, my DH, DS, and I were all sick last week and I feel as though I have missed so much.

Congratulations PLNU!!!

I'm on CD 27, guessing about 13 DPO since I usually have 27-28 day cycles. I would like to hold off til Wednesday before testing...we shall see.

Well I tested this morning and it was a BFN! :( I am not sure what is going on now because unless I O'ed later the week of Nov. 20, then I am not sure when I O'ed (or if I did). I don't want to waste too much money so I guess if AF doesn't show by Thursday or Friday I will test again.

Hope someone else gets different results than me (and soon)!:)

It's CD31 for me. My cycles are normally between 29-31 days. Meaning that AF should've showed up today at the latest... But - no AF and no symptoms... I tested on Saturday (CD29) - BFN. Don't know what's going on here... I will wait till the end of the week - if AF doesn't show up by then, I will test again and hope for a BFP...

I just realized the worst part of TTC'ing. Whenever I feel crummy or anything, I am totally over analyzing it like "hmm I wonder if..." It's driving me crazy! :)

I'm on CD 25 patiently waiting. I should have AF by Saturday or Sunday but I might get up the guts to try and test later in the week. I've had AF cramping the past few days which is odd, but I don't want to think too much into it. My back has also been kind of sore but I'm sure that's not a sign of anything. I'm hopeful, but I don't want to read too far into anything, ya know?

Good luck to everybody who is testing! I hope that we see some BFP's! :)

Hi everyone. I totally forgot to check in when the month started! Today is CD1 for me--this last cycle was really long...40 days or so. What's strange is that I had cramping over T-giving, so I was convinced I would be getting AF last week. When it didn't show, I got myself all excited, but this morning, she came in full force.

Is anyone doing anything to help along the TTC process? I've been drinking grapefruit juice, taking a prenatal, and drinking green tea.

Hi ladies,

Got my blood drawn today from the script the doctor gave me to check my insulin levels, she thinks if they are high, that may be what is giving me cycles that are 33-34 days long (or occassionally 32-38, like last cycle) and I am Oing on the 22-23 day of each cycle, she says that it's too late in my cycle. Will find out the results later this week when I call in for the results of my culture. Hoping that I don't have that bacteria again so don't need another antibiotic. Have my wisdom teeth extraction next Wednesday, then my vacation in FL starts in 19 days.

Thanks Jessie, I hope AF stays far away too! Have fun bd'ing!;)

zhannushka~ It sounds like we are in the same boat. I am a few days further in my cycle (35) but I expected AF already and got a BFN when I tested. I think she may be coming thought because I have been pretty moody today. I guess that could be a pg sysmptom too but I doubt it. I hope you get a BFP later thig week!

Michelle~Good luck testing soon. I hope you get your BFP. I have heard that a sore back can be a pg symptom. :)

Polorama~I am not really doing anything to help TTC except taking prenatal vitamins. Why do you drink grape fruit juice? I haven't heard of that before.

Ericka~I hope you get some answers soon and they help you get pg really soon. I am leaving for FL in 21 days. We will probably be down there around the same time. :)

I'm on CD27 and I normally have 27 day cycles, so I'm expecting AF tomorrow. I've been feeling pre-AF cramps, so I'm probably out this month.

The only thing that concerns me is that my LP is only 8 days and I've read that it should be at least 10 days. Any one know how long I should wait before talking to my doctor about this?

Ericka_Jarett
12-05-2005, 07:13 PM
I would question the doctor now about that. They may not be concerned about your LP, mine wasn't. She was more worried about how many days my cycle was and when I thought I was Oing.

I may have to go get an X-ray done, so - I wanted to know whether I'm pregnant or not and ended up testing again last night - still a BFN :( , but still - no AF and no symptoms... I am feeling very strange though - my stomach muscles are all tight and it hurts to move around... This is not a usual PMS symptom for me! Any ideas what this could be? Ericka~ We are going to be in Orlando from the 27-Jan 1. We are leaving on the 26th to drive down with my parents and we are flying back on New Years Day. It should be fun! Are you staying at a Disney resort when you are down there?

I am sorry for anyone who thinks they are out and keeping all crossables crossed for those who still have a glimmer of hope.

I am currently on CD 36. I did have a little bit of spotting today. It would be about the equivalent of 3 sporadic dots of this size: 0, if even that. Not too much. I did have a little cramping this morning too but I have had that every morning for the past week at least. It always goes away. I am just waiting until the end of the week to see if AF is going to show or if I need to test again. I would love to test again and get a + but if that isn't going to happen I just wish that AF would show and I could move onto the next cycle!

If I ever get to test, I will probably be doing the same thing, posting a pic for confirmation!

I was wrong yesterday, I was not supposed to start today, but tomorrow. And if I remember correctly, I started late evening last time, so I STILL may have to wait. Not feeling too optimistic, though...I am having classic PMS. I thought I was going to pinch the heads off of every kid I treated today! Guess I better arm myself with Midol and a purse-load of tampons for tomorrow.

IF AF doesn't show, I might have to break down and test Thurs morning. We'll see. My B-day is Sat. and it sure would be nice to be in a good mood and excited instead of moping and on my period for the weekend.

Sorry to hear it ladies.

Got my test results today. Culture was negative (which is great) My insulin was fine, but my blood sugar was 120 and they want it to be 100, so I have to make an appt for January with my family physician and than get a referral for the endocrinologist. Hopefully I can convince the fp to send me for another blood test, since I have been cutting carbs for about 2 weeks now and have lost 6 lbs, so hopefully that will help my sugar come down and don't need to do more than watch the diet. She said that I am definately Oing though from what my charting has shown her.

Sorry I have been MIA. I have been trying not to focus too much on TTC. I think last month's events have made it kind of hard on me- getting a BFP only to lose it so soon. I know it is for the best and I am actually at peace with it. But I still want to be PG! I am testing this weekend and trying not to put too much stock into what may be PG symptoms versus what maybe AF symptoms. I am trying so much to not focus on it too much but I do think I might be PG.

Sorry to hear about AF's arrival Jess, looty, delaney! Good luck with the BDing camdynlyn! Crossing my fingers for you twylla. Polorama, best wishes as you continue your TTC journey. Welcome back pacificbliss!

Maplekitty~ I hope you O soon. I was the same way when I realized I didn't O during the normal window. Hopefully it will come soon.

Summer~Have fun with your hubby. I will say that is the one thing DH says, "Another month trying is another month of great praciticing." I told him I much rather "practice" a lot and be pregnant.

Sorry to the other ladies who have AF visiting. Since she is already here I'll keep her so that a few other ladies can get a stork to visit instead.:D

Went to the mall at lunch today and felt like walking right over to Santa and saying this:
Dear Santa,
I don't want anything this year for Christmas other than a baby.

Do it!

Same here... :( AF is finally here. I am kinda glad that it is, 'cause I knew that I wasn't pregnant (all the BFN's) and I just wanted the new cycle to start so that we could try again. So - back to CD1.

Sorry to here that AF came to visit Michelle & zhannushka and anyone else I missed.

maplekitty Hoping you O soon!

CD13 for me and I don't think I O'd yet. I have had a stabbing pain on my right side next to my hip bone the last couple of days. I am hoping it is ovulation pain and that little egg will drop and meet the sperm my DH has deposited the last few days! :o

Good luck to everyone and hope you all have a great weekend.

maplekitty
12-09-2005, 10:52 AM
So I re-read the ovulation, and EWCM part of my TCOYF book last night. It says you don't always have to have EWCM to O. You O at the wettest of the wet days before dry starts. So perhaps I did O last weekend when CM was just "wet" - which would explain why I'm dry right now. Gosh our bodies are confusing!! lol I'm still holding out hope that this month wasn't a bust, because DH and I have BD'd a lot ;)
TGIF!! Have a great weekend everyone!

I just lost my post...stupid sensitive laptop!!!
Jarocha- Hadn't thought about asking Santa! I will have to get started on my letter!

Zhan- Glad AF finally showed so you can get started on a new cycle! Hope we can all make some Christmas babies!
Michelle- sorry AF showed for you, but I am glad you have a good attitude about it. It is getting harder not to be the girl that cries when AF shows up. I didn't want to be that girl! I told DH the other day that if it took too many more months that we might be having a baby during hunting season next year. I did this to kind of test out his seriousness in TTC. He said he thought he could give up one hunting season for his child. I said I was worried about the poor kid's birthdays. he said he/she could just go hunting with him for his/her birthday :)! I thought it was funny. He said something about "stepping it up" this month which I guess means more BDing and covering more days around my potential fertile period. Anyway, yall have a great weekend!

I found this site (I may be late at it) and it's seems pretty neat. You put in your average cycle days and last period and it will give you a 3,6,9 month pregnancy planner. It tells you (not that it's completely accurate because of the differences in women) when you are a little fertile and most fertile. Might be of use to some people. Let me know.

Haven't posted this month, but I've been keeping up with you ladies...I hope that there are lots more +++ this month!

Currently on CD 27, which is the longest cycle I have had so far. I've been feeling crampy on and off like AF is going to start, but hasn't. I've tested twice, and have had 2 BFN staring me in the face...not sure what to think here....I guess I'll test again in a day or two.

Question:

We moved here right as we were starting to TTC, so I don't have a doctor yet. Do you think that I should go ahead and see someone now just to establish as a patient, or should I wait until we get a BFP?

YAH Jarocha! I hope those of us left can meet you again over in the "mommies" thread!
Emermel- I think I would go ahead and make an appt if you haven't had your yearly. Do you have a particular Dr. in mind? If you have had your yearly, you might at least want to call the office and tell them that you just moved and are currently TTC and see if they want you in or if you can just come back when you get a BFP. They may at least want to start a chart on you. I donno, though. If my DH will come around, I may have to tell my regular Dr. that she won't be involved in my prenatal care or delivery- if I can go the midwife route. Anyway, keep those BFPs coming!

Congrats Jarocha!!!

Emermel - I would definately call and make an appt with the doctor, just to get comfortable with them and if they are a practice you may see multiple doctors during your pregnancy. That is what my office did once I came in with a Positive test result. There are 5 doctors they wanted me to see, only got through 4 of them, but already know for my next pregnancy I won't be seeing one of them, as I wasn't comfortable with her bedside manner.

emermel
12-15-2005, 05:04 PM
I went ahead and made an appointment with someone that a friend of mine recommended...actually I had to call around...I prefer to see female doctors, but the only woman that she recommended only sees new patients who are already PG! What a pain...I want to go in to talk to someone to make sure that everything is OK with me...

Anyway, I go in for a "preconception visit" on the 6th. Boy will that be fun taking DD...

I am on CD 10 today, so the fun begins! I am going to try to stay optimistic this month. Previous months always posed some sort of barrier to BDing as much as we should have. This month, Lord willing, will be free of distractions during this time.

I'm on CD26 (??DPO) - never got any EWCM so who knows.....
Took a preg test a few days ago - not to see if I'm preg, but because I just wanted to see how it works and to better myself for seeing a BFN.
This is my second cycle off BCPs, so my body may be evening out and I'm not sure whether to expect AF in a few days or not? This is a wait and see sort of thing to determine how long my cycles are now. Usually I spot a few days before AF, but so far nadda. No major icky crampy feeling either, BB are starting to feel a "little" sore. I'm a big 'ol question mark right now!!

Pushing the end of CD 28 here and still no sign of AF...this is the longest cycle I've had this time around, but after 2 BFNs, I think that I am just screwy...which makes me even happier that I made that doctor's appt. Going to Wally world to pick up another test for tomorrow morning. After that, I will TRY to not test any more and figure that it's just a long cycle and wait for the arrival of AF or my appointment, whichever comes first.

I'm out as of yesterday...my first 28 day cycle! I think that's actually a good thing! I used to be like clockwork...even after I came off the pill when we were TTC DD...so maybe things are back to normal.

SIL, BIL and niece are coming in on Friday...so we'll have a little covert BD while we have family here...my mom comes in the day that they leave, so we have company through my entire fertile time...that sux! Oh well, we'll make the best of it.

Good luck to all that are still in the running!

so frustrated right now! I posted, I think yesterday that this would be the 1st cycle that other things didn't get in the way of TTC...well, we went shopping yesterday and came home, ready for some good BDing and it just wouldn't happen. I didn't feel good, and he wasn't into it. He works tonight, thru Wed. night, which doesn't mean we can't do anything, but it's more of a planned thing, which I guess is kinda hard for us. I think the main problem last night is that it wasn't just for fun. It was for a purpose. Anyway, I still don't feel wonderful and after last night I am kind of afraid to try again for fear of disappointment. I drank so much Coke yesterday that my ovaries probably went into shock anyway.

CD20 Here for me! I finally got a postive OPK yesterday, after testing for the past week or so. It was the last one in the pack! DH is pretty excited and we've been covering our bases as required!

I can imagine that my rather high stress level (as a result of the holidays and our party last night) might have contributed to a later O. So, I'll be waiting until New Year's to test, and trying to stay sane until then!!

Michelle~Have fun!;)

Emermel~I'm glad to hear that things seem in getting more regular for you. I hope you are able to get some good covert bding in. I'll be in the same boat.

Jess~Sorry to hear about your frustration and that things haven't worked out. I would suggest just picking a time in your head to try again (if not more than one) and then think about it all day. Don't tell your DH about it and by the time the you're both around you should be good to go and you can initiate it. I'm sure your DH won't have a problem with that. I hope this helps and you are able to bd when you are fertile!

Suiej~Go cover your bases as much as you can and I hope you get a BFP in about 2 weeks! What a way to start the new year off!

I am on CD 10 and we are going to start covering our bases now. I don't know exactly when I will O but I want to make sure we don't miss it. I haven't had any signs but I am going to be watching for them for the next 10 days. ;)

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. We've been traveling a lot lately and as soon as we got home from the last trip, I got sick. I finally started feeling better yesterday. We just got our Christmas tree today and finished up our decorations. Emermel ~ I hope things are coming back to normal for you.

Aw Jess71903, I know how that feels. We've been making a lot of jokes about it being the "right" time and that seems to break the ice and make it a bit more fun. I totally know where you're coming from though. OH, now I see that the problem is solved. Good for you. ;)

Congrats on the + OPK, suiej! That's the best (well, other than a BFP). I've only gotten one a couple cycles ago. I guess I didn't realize how hard they were to get until the following 2 months didn't produce a +.

Have fun covering your bases, Looty. ;)

So I'm on CD37 and have no idea when it's going to end. I wasn't able to figure out when or if I O'd this cycle so I'm pretty frustrated. No pg symptoms at all so I don't think I am this month. I had no pregnancy symptoms at all when I got pregnant with Rebekah. Guess that's why I didn't find out until I was already 14 weeks along with her. Don't give up hope, just because no symptoms

Shanna - thanks for asking, the sockets are healing now. Just need to get my jaw to open more so I can enjoy real food while down at Disney and Cocoa.

Me - Yesterday was 8 months since I gave birth to Rebekah, hard to believe already that long. I am doing ok, still miss her and wish she was here but I know that she is getting loved to pieces up in Heaven by my dad, grandmothers and the Lord. I got a positive OPK on Thursday and Saturday (didn't test in between) which I thought would happen as Sat was hubby's b-day. We shall see what happens when we return from FL.

Hi ladies! I originally started charting hoping to speed up the whole process. I haven't even finished one cycle when I realized that I really didn't want to make it that clinical. Also DH telling me that I was getting to obsessed. So we decided to stop charting and just "see what happens".

I am usually pretty regular. I haven't been on any birth control for almost 3 years. I also get pretty good EWCM and I feel ovualtion pains. So I think that I know my body pretty well and hopefully just going off of those signs should help us create our little one.

I usually have a 24-26 day cycle. Today is CD12. I've had EWCM since Saturday and today I have ovulation pains. Soooo we're hoping to have some good news by New Years. Well see.

Now off to read through this thread and get to know you all! :D

LOL I guess that doesn't really make much sense since you don't have those teeth anymore. ;) It sounds like you're handling Rebekah's 8 months pretty well. {{Hugs}}

Congratulations to Jarocha!!!! Happy and healthy 9 months to you!

seapod, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Welcome Chris~n~Jen! Let's hope SWH is even quicker than charting for you!

I'm back from my vacation, and guess what? I FINISHED the marathon!!! Woo hoo!!! I POAS and BFN the night before, but there was still a lot of walking, lol. Marathons are tough! I had one very sore knee the whole time, which made me over compensate and now the opposite ankle is pretty sore. But I'll see the dr this week to sort that out... and also ask a few more questions about TTC. I'm on CD42 today, sigh. Anyway, it's tough to be back in the winter wonderland after spending time on the beach in Hawaii, but working on a BFP is keeping us warm, lol!!!

Welcome, Jen! I hope your time here is short and useful!
Good job on the marathon, Twylla! I couldn't imagine even entering one of those! Maybe you're in such good shape that you're cycle is off. Maybe you need to put on some weight or something! (I wish someone would tell me I needed to eat more--no problem!)

Welcome Jennifer! Hope you have a short stay!

Hey Jess - I just noticed something really weird. We are name twins, birth month twins and CD twins. Hopefully this month we'll be BFP twins too! :)

I'm at the fun part of the cycle, but DH is out of town right now. He'll be home tomorrow night and I'm still getting negatives on my OPKs so hopefully we'll be able to catch the egg when he gets home.

I'm back from NYC . I'm on CD 21 and having mixed symptoms. Feeling crampy yesterday (I Oed on CD14, I think, just for the record) but have had increased my pee amounts. Who knows. I will test starting on Thursday.

Delaney-
I did notice that we are both Jessica, but I didn't notice the birth month thing or CD thing. Cool! I hope you are right and we both get BFPs around New Years! I am a little sickish right now so I hope we can "get down to business". I haven't noticed any EWCM yet, but I haven't been looking as much either. I have tried to drink a lot of water today, and I haven't been doing that, so we'll see.

Does anybody know if caffine will inhibit the ability to get preggo? I know it's not good once you are, but I don't think I have heard about conception.

I've heard that caffeine can reduce your chances to get pg. But I don't know for sure if it's proven. Regardless, I've reduced my caffeine to only a little bit each day instead of how much I was consuming before TTC.

Welcome back, Summer! How was NYC? Cold?

And welcome back to you too Twylla. Congrats on finishing your marathon. That's so awesome! :)

I hope O holds off for you Delaney. If you haven't had a + yet, I bet it will. :)

ETA which Jessica I was referring to. ;)

I read this at babycenter.com. I think that's where I originally got the info on caffeine. :) HTH

You may also want to cut back on caffeine. The research on whether or not caffeine can affect fertility is mixed. Experts generally agree that low-to-moderate caffeine consumption (less than 300 mgs a day) won't affect your fertility, but your doctor may recommend you cut it out entirely to play it safe. Learn more about caffeine and fertility (http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/preconception/preconnutrition/4489.html).

It was actually beautiful. A little chilly but nothing this southern girl couldn't handle!;) Thanks for asking!

LOL, well I tested today even though there is pretty much zero chance of being pg this month and I have zero symptoms but I did it anyway. So just don't pay attention to my bad habits and try to hang in there. ;) I'm usually pretty good, just not this month.

Jess I'd thought that the running might affect things, but sadly, I'm actually not in very good shape. However, in the spirit of leaving no stone unturned, I'm keeping my butt parked on the couch until January, and feeling free to take an extra helping of turkey! lol. Thanks!

jnshanna Thanks! 26 miles is a long way, but it's over now! Sorry about the BFN.... I'm as impatient as you are, so don't worry, you're not alone! lol.

Yup Christmas time is hard. I really wanted to be able to surprise everyone with gifts annoucning our pregnancy. Oh well. I think I O'd on Sunday so I'm guessing I'm 2 dpo. So I'll be testing before New Years eve! Gotta see if I can drink the champange or not! ;) So there is still time to have a surprise announcement on New Years. That could be fun!

I have to agree that I hate waiting as I'm sure we all do.

Everyone else Sorry to hear if AF showed up. Good luck to anyone testing or getting ready to test. My fingers are crossed that you get your Christmas wish!

Hey ladies! I don't ahve a lot of time because I am still at school trying to get all the grades in order since they are due by tomorrow. I just needed a break.

I just wanted to say good luck to the testers! Hopefully you all will have something that you will be thankful for either on Christmas or New Years.

Good luck to those of us that are trying to catch the egg too. I am not thinking that I have Oed yet but considering I am only about CD 12 that isn't surprising. I just want O to hurry up so that then the obsessing can begin. :p

Hi Girls! I just wanted to check in before the craziness of the holidays start. I broke down and tested yesterday and like Camdynlyn a BFN raced up on the results. I'm only 8DPO, I just was getting super anxious. Atleast now I am out of tests, so the fact that I would have to go out and buy them may hold me off on testing anymore until AF shows or doesn't.

Good luck to all who will be doing some covert BDing!

Congrats to K&H's Mommy. That gives me hope with the 13 DPO.

I tested again today :o and still BFN.

I do have a question:

I've lent out my TCOYF book or I would look. My cervix is low, does that mean I'm fertile? I'm confused because I am on CD 23 so I shouldn't be but it was high last week.

Camdynlyn

I also wanted to add that I've been using Dollar Store brand and it's 25 mIu, not the 50 it says on the first page. That's good, right? I did buy a 'good' brand just in case. My next test will be Friday morning, I swear I'm waiting that long.

Congrats K & H Mommy! What a very mery Christmas you'll have!:D

Summer~ I haven't read TCOYF but I just looked it up and it looks like high and soft are the signs that you are Oing. So you probably Oed last week, not this week. Is it hard to check? I am not really doing any of that and since this is our sixth month trying if I am not pregnant part of me wants to be more aggressive but not too clinical. I might be abelt o do this but it seems like it would be hard to figure out.

I'm off to do some Christmas shopping. I am hoping since it is the middle of the day in the middle of the week that it won't be so crowded.

When I charted, I never understood how to check my cervix. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I was (TMI) checking my CM and inserted my fingers and felt something up there. It feels like a ball and yesterday when I checked, it was really low (didn't have to insert fingers much). It sounds gross but really interesting.

CD 45 for me, very tender breasts, sleepy and headachey, so maybe.... I had a urine test at the doc this morning, but i wish I'd said that I wanted a blood test. Oh well. I get the results tomorrow, so I still have time to hope!

Sorry I've been scarce lately. Honestly, I was suffering from some major TTC anxiety! Things have settled down and DH and I took advantage of CD13 (yesturday) and hopefully today, too!

6 dpo for me, I think! Just waiting. Yesterday I was super sleepy and even went home after work and took a 1 1/2 hour nap. I usually never take naps. I was still able to go to sleep around 11 like usual. So not sure if thats a sign or just holiday stress catching up to me. My bbs are a little tender, although it may be from all the poking I've been doing lately. Always looking for signs. I'm not even sure there would be signs this early. I kinda want to test on Christmas day. That's probably to early isn't it??? Although we will be staying at MIL's and I'm sure she would see the PT even if it was in the garbage. That women just has a way of knowing everything that goes on. So I may wait until we are back home! Just hate waiting.

batgirl--- glad I could make you laugh! I'm still checking, too!

CD46 for me. The doctors' test said BFN. Makes me sad. I used to be excietd about my sore nipples, now I don't know. I'm just sad about it. I know we haven't been REAALY trying THAT long, just a few months, but I've been off BCP since October 2004 and my cycles have been crazy the whole time. I think I'm only on cycle 5 or 6, and one of those cycles was just 11 days! The rest were really long. Sigh. I guess I'm just going through a little funk. I go to see the doctor again next wednesday. If I still have sore boobs, I'll ask for a blood test. If not, I think it's time for a specialist. My doctor is confused by the irregular cycles, so hopefully that means we can move forward fairly quickly.

Anyway, sorry for the down mood. Have a very Merry Chritsmas ladies! And if you celebrate other holidays, enjoy them as well!!!!
