a friend just had a baby girl a few days ago and has not yet come up with a name. she would prefer a latin name (she is brazilian/puerto rican/mexican) and tends to like names which begin with an S or T, although this is not a deal breaker. TIA!!!

I would recommend asking this question on this site: www.bigbadbabynames.com

There are some self-professed "name geeks" on there who love questions like this and would be more than happy to give you a list.

My favorite Latin names tend to end in -A: Adriana, Bianca, Catalina, Gabriella, Marcela, Marisa, Silvia/Sylvia/Silvana, Serena, Tavia

I also love Carmen, Isabel, and Marisol.

Behind the Name.com (http://www.behindthename.com/nmc/spa.php) has this whole section of Spanish names.

S names: Sara, Sofia, Sonia, Selena, Sierra

T names: Teresa, Tatiana

Other names I like: Gabriella, Alejandra, Marina, Isabella, Bella, Angelica, Arianna, Rosa, Araceli, Graciela

My personal favroites: Isabella, Sierra, Bella (pronounced Bay-ya) and someone suggested Nadia - it reminds me of a super sweet, beautiful girl I used to work with.

my daughter's name, Catalina, is a spanish name. our second choice was Beatriz. i also considered Delia and Estela.

S names in my family: Sabela, Sonia, Silvia, Serafina. the only "T" name i can think of is Teresa, or mine which is Teba (a 16th century spanish name).

there are books she can buy specifically dedicated to spanish baby names. and if she does a search for "spanish, hispanic or latino" names i'm sure she'll come up w/ a lot.

my daughter's name, Catalina, is a spanish name.
I love Catalina! My mom's name is Catherine, but my Hispanic grandfather always called my mom Catalina. We also have a beautiful mountain range here called Catalina - love it!

My Fh has a little girl cousin name Tiziana. I think her mom's name is Letizia.

I think Soraya is a beautiful name but I thought it was Middle Eastern?
