I am off to go to a web search on this, but thought I would start here! ;)

I just noticed the other day on my son that lips had white "dots" on them, I don't know how else to really describe it, he also has them all on his tongue. He doesn't seem to be in any pain, slept fine last night, ate with no issues (he is formula fed), it's still there today.

He's 4 months old. I know if I recall thrush is something that is common in newborns? I need to go do some research, but we are going to be away for 9 days, so I'm wondering if this is something that is going to require a trip to the Doc. this afternoon.

Anyone been there, done that? Will he need medication?

ETA- From what I just read on the web, it does look like it's thrush. I called his Ped. and I'll be bringing him in this afternoon to get it checked out. Still interested in responses though.

I think your ped will likely give you Nystatin in an oral suspension (a banana-flavored yucky liquid). IIRC Joey had to take it for 8-10 days? He also prescribed a Nystatin cream for his little tush, since the yeast caused a red rash for a couple of days.

Neither of those are too terrible, I don't think it should affect your getaway or anything. :)
