What line of products do you use for baby's bath wash/hair wash, body lotion, body oil, etc.? Why do you like it? Did you try any that you were not satisfied with? A friend is recommending Arbonne's (www.arbonne.com) line of baby products to me, but it's three times the price of good ol' Johnson & Johnson. Just curious what other options are out there. If you have approx. prices, that would help too. Thank you.

I used Nuskin Epoch Baby Hibiscus Hair and Body Wash when my son was a newborn. I really liked it. It was a gift. It started to get low around 3 months and I considered buying some more when I saw it in a shop in China, but it was $25 a bottle, which seemed rather expensive.

I tried a sample of the Gerber oatmeal body wash and it turns out that I really like it and the smell. I bought one bottle for $2 and I am still using it almost a year later. It doesn't take much to get a baby clean! (And we give a bath every day!)

I've actually discovered that JnJ products are pretty drying on DS's skin. We use mostly Eucerin and Aveeno products, but I really don't know what the price points are there and how it compares to JnJ. HTH!

I'm familiar with Eucerin and Aveeno's price points -- they're not expensive. So JnJ was drying for you, eh? I honestly just bought them because they had a great "gift pack"-type ensemble, so it was an easy thing to buy. But I'd like to give it some more thought, since I still have the receipt. :)

I have recently become addicted to the Gerber Giggles and Grins milk and honey line. I love the scent so much that even though DS is 2 we still use it. Prior to that we used Huggies in the lavender/chamomile scent. When DS needs lotion we use the Johnsons bedtime lotion.

The prices are similar to J&J.

Does JnJ have ANY smell? I can't remember, and we haven't opened this pack of products yet.

We started out using head to toe by J&J because that is what the hospital used. It was too drying on her body and head yes it does have a smell.

We now use Dove Bar for sensitive skin, which was recommended by her Ped. It works really well, and I don't even have to use lotion on her after her bath.

I use Paul Mitchell Baby Don't Cry Shampoo...its gentle and I love the smell. I think I paid $6 for the bottle, but I have been using it for 6 months now, and I am not even halfway through it, so it last a long time.

My kids have VERY sensitive skin and we use J&J most of the time. I tried to switch to giggles and grins or something like that and my youngest had a reaction to it - got very rashy. My youngest is now getting dry skin but I think it's more a result of the season than J&J. I use J&J body lotion for her dry skin.

Burt's Bees makes a line of baby products too - I bought a sampler pack of mini bottles and haven't opened it yet, but I thought I'd throw it out there as an option. I like Burt's products for myself so I thought I'd give it a try...

just read that you should avoid baby skin products that have any sort of nut or nut oil in them. apparently they think there's a link between these products which have been in higher use over the last few decades and the increase in peanut allergies.

J&J for both kids- body lotion, shampoo, and wash. For my DD1, we use pantene conditioner. No problems.

We use the JnJ regular body wash (the yellow bottle) and the regular JnJ baby lotion (pink bottle). I like both and DS hasn't reacted to either.

We intially started off with the Baby Magic Lavendar bath stuff-- the bath milk, foaming bath cleanser, etc. because we got it as a gift. Honestly, after two weeks of using it, we had to give it up. DS smelled, at least to me, like a cheap woman of the night. ;) I couldn't handle it.

We use Aveeno and love it. Not drying and it has a nice, light scent.

Another aveeno user here, for bath products. For body lotion, we love Burts Bees. I just love the smell of their lotion - its not perfumey just clean and nice.

I like their buttermilk lotion but the apricot oil is really icky. It makes my DD smell like old food.

I must be the cheap Mom. My DD does not have sensitive or dry skin (yet). We use Target brand baby care. I read the labels one day in the Target aisle and discovered that Target brand baby wash (the JnJ yellow bottle) was identical to the JnJ brand in ingrediants (including their order). The lavendar wash and the baby lotion in the pink bottle were all identical as well. The good part, the baby wash is $0.99 and JnJ was $3.29.

(FWIW, I do not scrimp on diapers and wipes though).

Oh, yes. I should specify that I like the Burts Bees Buttermilk lotion. I haven't tried any other kind by them, but it really is fabulous. I even use it on myself. ;)

We use JnJ, but I LOVED Phisoderm Baby at the hospital. SO GOOD SMELLING!! Hmm....Just thought I'd throw it out there for consideration.

We use Kiehl's and California Baby.
I like the smell of the J&J bedtime bath stuff, but is really dries out DS.

We use Aveeno products as well. We started with J&J but had to switch due to dryness. My 2 y/o has really bad eczema and so far he has done well with the Aveeno products.

We use the California Baby products, it was a gift though I am not sure how much they cost! But they smell soooo good and the bath stuff has lavender so it helps get DS relaxed for bed time.

We use the Grins & Giggles body wash in lavender and the lotion in oatmeal scent (sounds funky but smells sooooo good)and Gerber Shampoo foam. They cost about $2 a bottle on sale. That being said, we totally splurge and use the Burt's Bees diaper ointment. It about $7 for a 2 1/2 tube but it smells great and it totally clears up an rash DD gets.

I have JnJ, Arbonne and Grins & Giggles. Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the Arbonne, especially considering the price. It's ok
, but definitely not great IMO.

We use Aveeno wash and lotion.....we have used both the regular and the lavender. We've been happy with it so far. I've been using Aveeno for a long time since I have sensitive skin so automatically used the baby products for DS. He doesn't seem to have sensitive skin so far but at least I know the products won't bother him if he does. I'm not crazy about the lavender smell on him but I'm not real big into the traditional "baby smell" a lot of the other brands have so I'm just glad to have something different.

As far as smells go, I do really love the smell of the "Classic Pooh" brand of wash/lotions that I saw at Target......combo of honey & lavender. Haven't tried them though.

Can you find Aveeno's products in both flavors, oatmeal and lavender? On the Aveeno website, they only mention the oatmeal products. Also, is lavender too "girly" smelling, or is it good for boys too? I like the sleeping properties of lavender; I don't know what oatmeal helps with.

we use california baby products as well and i love the smell. i love the smell of J&J (the regular shampoo) as well but DD's sensitive skin just can't take it. we use Burt's Bees buttermilk lotion though i sometimes use the J&J one on her legs b/c, again, i really like the way it smells and she hasn't had any reaction to it except for on her face and scalp.

I don't think so I use it on my son every night.

DH's old coworker started his own kids skin care line

Seems kind of expensive.

Mustela, a bit pricey but it is soo good, especially for eczema. We use the 2 in 1 Baby Wash plus the lotion.

I use the baby wash and shampoo from mustela as well, but i just discovered that my poor baby has a reaction to the lotion!
I used to put it on him as a newborn, and since it was winter, covered up his skin with clothes, so I never saw any reaction.
Once he started having bad skin (eczema) at about one month old, we switched to the greasy eucerin stuff. That works wonders! But yesterday, my mom came over and babysat, gave him a bath and used the mustela lotion on him. since the weather was warm, he was just wearing a onsie, and i noticed his arms and legs were bright red!

Anyone else have a baby that's allergic to the mustela lotion?

DD had cradle cap and extremely dry skin, so we switched to Mustela products. It worked great, so we are sticking with it. This might be elementary, but I also started using a sponge to wash her because it stretches the expensive product a long way, compared to using a wash cloth.

jjohm yes! we had the exact same experience. i still love the newborn foam shampoo and body wash, but the lotion (and sunscreen) is awful for us. i only used the lotion when she was small but recently found a bottle and started using it and she had red, bumpy, dry skin b/c of it. i even wonder now if she really had excema when she was younger like we thought or if it was just the lotion?
we don't stick to any one brand now. i just buy what i see when we run out -- it's usually aveeno, california baby or burt's bees.

I read the label, and the mustela lotion has sweet almond oil. Is it possible that it's an allergic reaction to the nut? (Geez, I hope not)

At 17 1/2 months, we are still using the Mustela Newborn Foam Shampoo. DD was born with a full head of hair, and this was the only stuff that would prevent her hair from looking like she had stuck her finger in a socket.

DD had cracle cap and also has extremely dry skin. We went through quite a few products, including J & J and Aveno. Our best solution was Baby Don't Cry Shampoo from Paul Mitchell. DD has not had any cradle cap since we started using it. For lotion, we use something from Avent- it is in DD's room and she is sleeping, but it is a lotion and cleanser with no alcohol and has been great! Also, skipping a day between baths helped, too.

Where do you buy Mustela products and Baby Don't Cry Shampoo from Paul Mitchell?

JRPAGV~ DD's godmother is a hairdresser and purchased the Paul Mitchell shampoo. I imagine you can purchase it at any beauty supply store that sells to the general public, not just licensed stylists.

If you don't have one locally, I did a search on google and came up with these links:
~drugstore.com
(http://www.drugstore.com/qxp43430_333181_sespider/paul_mitchell/baby_dont_cry_shampoo.htm)~hairexpo.biz (http://www.hairexpo.biz/pm_0002.html)
~shopping.msn.com

I hope this is helpful to you! :)

DS has been allergic to just about every yummy smelling babyish product out there. We use Cetafil and Aquaphor and now his skin has calmed down.

At eight months we still have so little hair that we use water
