Well, my image is not showing, but it is the Berkley table. It has 3 cubby holes for baskets and two drawers.

How do you like it? Is it sturdy? We bought another changing table for about $100 when DD was born and the shelves keep falling out. It is basically cardboard, I think.

This might be a stupid question, but how long do kids wear diapers?

we've never owned a changing table. always just used the top of the dresser.

oh, and ds#1 is just over 2 and looks like he'll be in diapers for quite a bit longer.

tinkerbell, we have the Berkeley in espresso. We like it a lot, although I wish there was more space for clothes. The drawer depth is a little deceptive - it's a lot more shallow than I thought.

The one thing I would do is call up PBK and bug them about the availability of the Berkeley in the stain that you want it in. Sometimes PB is really annoying in that they take orders for stuff that they can be ridiculously back-ordered (grammar?), and they will sometimes lie to you about the availability. For example, we purchased the Berkeley in espresso because it matched the crib we bought - we bought the PBK sleigh crib. The crib came almost immediately, but the changing table was backordered for a couple months until July 31. My due date was July 26. I ended up delivering on July 9, so we had to order a cheapo changing table from Target in the meantime. The PBK changing table ended up arriving around mid-August.

As to how long babies stay in diapers, we are planning on beginning potty training around 24 months, depending on how mobile/adaptable/etc. DS is, but I know that diapers can go up to 3 or 4 years of age. However, once your baby first starts twisting, then crawling, then walking, it may actually be safer to change them on the floor, so that they don't accidentally fall off the changing table.
