Hey girls!
Okay...so I was wondering if anyone would be up to a weight loss challenge?! :cool: It would be a 6 week challenge and we would weigh in every week and post our results! Example...
I would like to lose 10 pounds for the challenge.
Week 1: -1/10
Week 2: -2/10
Week 3: -3/10
Week 4: -4/10
Week 5: -5/10
Week 6: -6/10
This could be a huge motivator for those who would like to shed a few pounds! :) I would be willing to lead this challenge, so let me know if you are interested!

Oh I am interested but I can't lift weights or run for another 2 weeks.... bummer!:(
But, on the bright side, I have boobies now! :D

I was thinking of starting after the 4th (since holidays are always hard on the ol' diet! ;) ). You could always start when you are given the okay! You would just pick up where we were and weigh in whichever week! :)

Sounds good. So that means I actually have to buy a scale. Blech! Those things hate me, I swear. They always tell me I am more than I think I am.
After the 4th would be good. I can walk all I want now and ride my bike and eat the way I want but no lifting. Don't want to hurt these babies!! ;)
Sooo I am in. How does it work? We weigh in and report here with our loss/gain on a certain day of the week??

YAY...so glad you are joining me!! :) I will give more info later, but yes, we will weigh in weekly and use the example above every week in the post to track our losses. It will make more sense when we get started! ;)

We would love for you to join! Actually, like I told Summer, you can jump in at anytime! :D So, if you want to join us when you get back, you are more then welcome. You would just leave Week 1 blank! :)

I'm in too.....My 27th birthday is about 6.5 weeks away.....I would love to lose ten pounds by then. I've lost about 18 lbs since New Years, but am definitely ready to kick it up a notch! When do we start posting?

I'm in - i definitely need to lose all this flab hangin around! Actually i'd like to lose more than 10 - more like 40 lbs! BUT I know you can't in only 6 weeks, so I'll shoot for 10!

I'll join in the fun too...I need to lose some weight. Maybe with a group like this I can stay motivated. I have done Weight Watchers in the past and I already exercise, so I think I can do it!

Count me in!!!! I need to loose about 50 pounds by my 21st birthday on December 6. Let us know the details. Just a thought but was thinking maybe before and after pictures say every 6 weeks or so. We all know how we love pictures around here. I'm ready lets go!!!! :D

OH count me in!! I am so excited to find you guys. I moved last year after the wedding and I haven't made any really good friends so I could use the motivation from some new friends. Isn't it amazing how the minute you say "I do" the pounds just suddenly appear. So we are starting after the 4th, right? Can we post exercise suggestions and recipes and stuff like that as well?

Just making sure I have the date July 5th correct. (You know before I walk down stairs and eat some Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Ice Cream. Oat meal is good for you right??? :p

I'm in. I just got news from my Dr. that my cholesterol is too high (220). That was quite a shock - so I really need to change my eating habits and exercise more. We just got back from vacation, so I'm ready!

Caroline: Do you like Sherbert? I just got finished eating some. The Walmart (haven't looked at the one in M.J but I do know the one on Market has it) Fat Free Sherbert and it is THE BOMB! Might be an alternative!
O.K. this scares the bajeebies out of me but maybe it will help. I gained an OBSCENE amount of week beginning shortly before my wedding in August of 2004 until about 3 weeks ago when I got darn serious about taking it off.
Count me IN!!! Except I'm on vaca next week and although I have promised myself to try and be good it's really hard when you're travelling.
I am also TTC so it's an extra incentive.

I'm in! I'm in! I've been wanting to lose about 10 pounds, and I'd been doing pretty well until I went on a business trip and vacation for the past two weeks. I'd lost 5 of the 10 pounds, but I'm up 3 pounds again -- that leaves 8 to lose. Yuck. Anyway, I'd love to join y'all!

I want to do it but I am in to the idea of losing 1/2 lb. per week. That seems to be the best way to avoid the evil diet rebound (which I've gotten before).
Ya know diet rebound--where you lost 10 lbs. and gain 15? Has that ever happened to you. I've heard the best way to avoid it is to lose weight incredibly slowly--like even 1/4 a lb. a week.
So, how about if I join you but say that in 10 weeks I will lose 5 lbs?
Jeanine-- Have you ever considered grapeseed oil and EFAs? They also say you should drink alcohol once a day--preferably red wine.
I am trying to help my DH lower his cholesterol.

I'm so in!
I've already lost 4 pounds since June 1st. I'm about 9 pounds behind where I wanted to be, but I realize my goals may have been unreasonable. I weigh in on Saturdays (well, those are the ones I count anyway, even if I do step on the scale a tad more frequently), so if we are starting on Monday, my weights will be 2-3 days behind. I have an ultimate goal weight of 150. I started at 188 on June 1st. We'll see where I go from here.
