WHO ARE WE ???
A group of CC ladies who are Trying To Concieve(TTC) without temping(taking your temperature before rising out of bed every morning), and "charting" these temperatures on a grid. This group of ladies are just "Seeing What Happens". We do keep track of what Cycle Day(CD)we are on and perhaps note any changes in our body. We would love to hear about what you are going through. We understand the trials, tribulations and many doctor appointments that you are facing on this journey into parenthood. No question is too "stupid", asked too often, nor is any "vent" that you may have unnecessary.
This thread may move quickly at times, but don't be afraid to jump in on the last page. You don't have to read through the entire thread before you join us. The first few posts on page one are some introductory info to help everyone out as well as provide many useful links to other sites with in depth information on certain topics. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over to the most recent "Seeing What happens" thread. This thread starts at the beginning of each new month.
WANNA JOIN US ?
Just introduce yourself and post your statistics so we can get to know you a little better and add you to the list of "Our Family " members which is shown in the second post on the first page. Please post these intro stats in red so that you won't be missed. Wanna lurk and ask questions? Just post away....

Hi ladies! I'm heading out first thing in the morning to visit my Mom so I'll go ahead and open this new thread for everyone.
I hope I come back to lots of BFPs! :)
Happy Independance Day!!
I'll be back sometime Monday and will update the above posts with new members and hopefully some BFPs then. Please post updates in red! thanks!
*I just had to copy and paste the new July thread into an entirely new thread b/c I couldn't get the title to change. Just thought I'd mention that in case I've confused anyone. I'm going to update the link in the June thread right now.

I didn't even realize that it is almost July :) Well considering hubby is gone on a missions trip and won't be back until the 4th of july this month I think will be a wait till AF comes and actually find out how long my cycle is. I'm gone for two weeks at the end of july so that just decreases our chances even more :) Oh well give me time to read my prego books right? :)

Subscribing!
Currently at CD 16 with no sign of O'ing, no temp drops, nada though based on what FF told me last month I may tommorrow. Had a weird temp drop early in the month but I chalked that up to an aberration since it was at CD 7 and way to early in my cycle to be O'ing.
We're off for the weekend so Happy 4th Everyone!

Have a great trip Jane! Enjoy the weekend.
Happy July to everyone! My official TTC month! YAY! If we conceive this month we will be due in April. I don't think i know anyone with an April b-day so that works. Plus it's just in time for spring when the temps aren't too hot and aren't too cold and the "uncomfortable" part of our pregnancy will be during winter. Perfect time for extra insulation.
Well, here's wishing BFP's for everyone testing!
If for some reason i don't get back here until after the holiday weekend (which is very very likely)
Happy Independence Day!!!!!

Welcome July! This is also the month that I officailly will no longer be taking BCPs. I take my last pill tomorrow. Yah!
Welcome to all the member that have joined in the few days I have been away.
Good luck to all the ladies testing this weekend. Let the BFPs make the holiday that much more special!
I spent the morning at the zoo with my SIL, nephew (2 1/2), and niece (1 1/2). It was really fun and definitely reminded me why I am looking forward to parenthood. They were so good. They loved the animals and we loved watching them play in the water (fountains that shoot up from the ground in the childrens zoo). :D

Big THANK YOU to Jane&Andy for setting up the July thread :)
Hi mayahm and LittleStar
looty - how fun the zoo. that is too cute.
Well here I am at CD28, 14DPO - AF still isn't here, but my temperature has dropped for the last two days :(, ugh. Good thing I'm hanging out with friends tonight, hopefully get my mind off of testing and AF... also went to yoga this morning to get away from it all.
BTW - DH and I watched War of the Worlds last night... VERY good. Reminds me of why I like Tom... although he has gotten whacky the last few months, but a great actor nonetheless and that Dakota, she's adorable. :) A MUST SEE!!!
Have a great Friday ladies!!!

Just wanted to say Happy 4th to Everyone!
Also even though this is a seeing what happens and that is sort of what hubby and I are doing, but this cycle I did take temp and OPK's, since this is month 2 of TTC technically since giving birth back in April.

Just wanted to check in on the girls who were thinking about testing this weekend before left. I hope we get a bunch of BFP.
Charissa -- Sorry to hear that your temps have fallen. I don't temp but from lurking I know what that can signal. Don't let it ruin your fun this weekend though.
Welcome to Gina. May your stay be short. It is my first month trying too. It should be interesting.
P.S. I officially took my last pill this morning! On to my first cycle of trying. Yah! :D

Congrats looty on taking your last pill! It feels quite liberating doesn't it?
I went off the pill back in jan. Although we hadn't originally planned to ttc until june and then we changed it to july. I wanted a chance to let my body become regular off the pill and know how my own system worked before ttc.
Can't wait to get news on all the hpts! Have a good weekend.

Welcome to the new members. :) I'm just checking in from my Mom's house. I've been having lots of fun with my neices and nephews (4 kids under the age of 3!) and my sister is giving me all sorts of baby handmedowns - baby bath tub, boppy, bouncy chair, etc. I love free stuff!

We're definitely in the "let's see what happens" stage as I'm trying to avoid charting as long as possible (I'm too neurotic to begin with and that will only encourage me!).
One thing that's a bit worrying is that I have irregular cycles (anywhere from 21 - 40 days in between cycles) but we're not in a hurry to conceive so I will try charting and other measures after 6 months of trying.

We received some very sad news on Saturday. Chris's cousin's wife is 8 months pregnant and lost the baby. She was due in 3 weeks. The baby had been very active up until saturday then he just stopped. She works in a hospital so they went there to get checked out and there wasn't a heartbeat. She was induced yesterday and delivered the baby around 7pm. They are several hours away from us so we have only been getting phone updates. Turns out the umbilical cord got wrapped around the babies leg and cut off the circulation. No word on a funeral or anything yet. As of 7pm last night his cousin nor his wife had seen the baby by choice. This is obviously a very difficult time for them so keep them in your thoughts and prayers. I don't know how anyone could cope with something like this.
For dh and me it is just scary since we are just starting to ttc. I can't even fathom the pain they are feeling. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

ellidew,
I am so sorry to hear of this loss. Hits home for me, I know what she is feeling, since I am still living it myself. That is so crazy about the cord around his leg, causing the baby to pass.
I really hope they see the baby and hold it. It will really bring them a lot of comfort even if they don't think so now. Also pictures even if they don't want to see them now. Those are things you can never get back once you lose a baby.
It's one of those things that reminds you to never take a baby's precious life for granted. So many things can happen. I never thought my daughter would pass at 24 weeks due to bacteria I didn't even know I had.
I'll be praying for them during this tough time.

Ericka. I just read Rebekah's story and i cried. It was so touching to read her story and i am so sorry you got such a small amount of time with your daughter. You are a strong woman. I sure hope dh's cousin and his wife spend time with their son before they have to say goodbye. Dh and i talked last night about how they will regret not doing it. I still can't even fathom what they are going through or what any parent goes through when they lose a child. I hope we are all blessed with our own little ones and that we don't ever have to experience that kind of pain... and that those who have never have to again.
I sure hope we get some BFP's around here soon too now that i have brought the whole place down. ;)

ellidew - I'm so sorry to hear of the loss in your family. It is so sad. My family went through something similar (except he was born @ 26 wks, lived for almost five months, improving each month, and suddenly his liver shut down). I could barely make myself go to the funeral, but I did for my cousin. My DH and I also talked about how we couldn't even imagine that and hoped we would never have to experience that. I'll keep your DH's cousin in my thoughts. I agree with you and Ericka that they should hold him and take any pictures they can. My cousin got that done and they treasure the pictures now.
Where is everyone else? I want to know how the ladies who were testing or getting close are doing.

ellidew I am so sorry for your DH's cousin and their family :( That's terrible news. I couldn't even imagine what that may feel like. :(:(
It makes me feel awful for even feeling down about AF showing up on my trip to Vegas, oh well. Guess not everyone can get a BFP on their first try right?
I'm on CD3, almost 4... seems like an eternity to get to that 2ww again. Wish I had better news for you ladies. Maybe July/August is more my time ;)

ellidew - I am so sorry for your cousin and his wife. :(
Welcome to the new members. I've updated the member's list so please let me know if I've missed anyone.
I had a very nice visit with my family. My Mom's old friends from TX flew in for the party and their son and his wife (who live near my Mom) tagged along. They announced their pregnancy. I couldn't help but be sad and frustrated, I feel like everyone who could possibly be pregnant now, aside from me, is pregnant. Oh well, this was the first time I'd seen them since my Dad's funeral 3 1/2 yrs ago. Its got nothing to do with me. But it still made me sad.

I know how you feel (even though we haven't been TTC that long, I've wanted a baby for a while - just waiting for the right timing in our marriage and life), its like I'm so happy for my friends and family that are having or have had a baby, but I'm almost sad and jealous at the same time. *sigh*
Don't worry, it'll happen for all of us :)

Jane --I'm sorry you are feeling that way. I know I have felt that way before when I wished we were trying but weren't. It's probably going to be worse now that we are trying, but so far no one I know is pregnant or really trying.
Charissa --Sorry to hear about AF. I know what you mean about stories like that putting things in perspective, but you don't need to feel bad about your feelings.
My mom tricked me by saying that she talked to my brother and he's going to be a daddy. I about fell off my chair and actually felt a wave of anger with the shock. I think the anger was a combination of the fact that he is getting married in October and his fiance said she didn't want anyone pregnant in his wedding  and the fact that I expected to be giving my parents their first grandchild because my sister just got married and he isn't married yet. Selfish I know.
I had my first 'dilemma' since we decided trying. I had to go get the prenatal prescription filled, but my SIL's best friend works at the pharmacy I usually go to. She knows who I am and always makes small talk with me. I was afraid she would assume that I was pregnant and say something like, "You didn't tell me she was pregnant." We don't really want too many people to know for incase it takes a while so I drove about 10 minutes out of my way to go to another pharmacy.
Sorry this is a book. I will only add that I think today is going to be CD1 for me becuase I am feeling the pre-cramps. So even though I hate AF I am looking forward to starting the cycle that we are trying.

Jane- I know that stinks. I am always sad/jealous/mad/etc when people announce their pregnancy. My mom said one day "Guess what i heard from Tracy (her neighbor)" and i said "if she is pregnant don't tell me, i don't want to know!" ha ha. To my surprise she said "okay, i wont tell you". I wasn't upset about that it is just that it feels like everyone is pregnant.
But now i am having trouble with feeling that way towards dh's cousin who just lost the baby over the weekend at 8 months. I know i had nothing to do with that and that my feelings in no way played a part in how it all panned out but i still feel guilty for being so jealous and upset that they were pregnant before us. Now i just wish that they had been able to bring home a happy and healthy little boy!
I officially started temping again this morning. We are still taking the waiting to see what happens approach but i am going to temp just to try and figure out when I O. My cycles are all over the place! 29 days, 33 days, 33 days, 40 days, 36 days. We are going to see what happens but i would like to have a target! ha ha.

Jen - I'm temping now too. My cycles tend to run short so it'd be nice to have an idea of when I'm actually ovulating. of couse we stayed at my Mom's house over the weekend and the bedroom was warm so i think it might have messed up my chart. I guess I have to just keep temping and see what happens.
Don't feel guilty about feeling jealous. You have a right to your feelings and they had nothing to do with what happened to the baby. I'm just trying to figure out a better way to cope with such feelings b/c turning green with envy every time anyone gets PG just isn't a fun way to deal with it.

Ellidew- I'm so sorry to hear of your family's loss. What a horrible thing to have to go through.
AF is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I tested this morning and got a BFN. I really thought it was going to be positive. I had sore bbs and a veiny chest and went to bed early every night this weekend. I know its still early in the game for us (we started in April), but still frustrating. Like many of you, I wanted a baby way before we started trying.
I just found out my SIL is pregnant. So, I know what everyone means about preggos popping up all around you.
I'm planning on charting temps next cycle so maybe that will give me some additional insight.

Melissa -- Sorry to hear about the BFN but it's not over yet. I know it's not easy to believe but until AF shows there is hope...and here's hoping she doesn't visit you. She showed up here today so I'll try to hold on to her and not let her visit you.
ellidew --I'm still thinking of your family.
So as I said to Melissa I am on CD 1 of my first cycle trying. I am excited but nervous at the same time. Were any of you nervous when you first made the leap? I am definitely more excited than nervous but still. I want to make sure I'm not a freak. ;)

looty I was totally nervous too, it seems so real once you really start trying, huh? :)
Well just plugging away at work, or trying to at least, so frustrating and I'm only on CD5, ugh. It was much more exciting (although as painful as it was) being in the 2WW, haha.

Were any of you nervous when you first made the leap?
I was a little nervous but mostly excited. I think the nerves will really hit me once I'm actually pregnant.
I'm on CD 12 now. This is my first cycle charting and Fertility Friend is showing a big green light under my chart. So far the charting is easy but a little confusing. The green light sure made me chuckle though.
My SIL's baby is due in about a month now. It seems like just yesterday she announced the pregnancy. I'm excited to be gaining a new neice but sad too. She's younger than me and hasn't even been married for a year yet (baby is due 1 month before her anniversary). I always thought I'd be first and here she is, about ready to pop, and I'm not even pregnant yet.
geesh, I'm really throwing myself a pity party here lately. :( anyone have fun plans for the weekend? We have a lot of work to do around the house but we're planning to take a break on one of the days and take the dog out to a nearby dogpark that has a beach area. My neighbor has been raving about it so I can't wait to take the pup.
lowcountrywed - any update on AF?

Well, looks like AF is rearing her ugly head. I'm spotting and cramping hardcore. I'm actually feeling okay about it though. I'm going to give charting a try this cycle. I felt sort of lost last cycle because I never got a +OPK like my first cycle. I'm hoping charting will help me figure things out. I'm looking forward to a nice glass of wine this weekend and getting my hair colored on Wednesday. Love to take advantage of those pre-pregnancy indulgences. :D

I have a question for everyone... does anyone know if antibiotics effect conception chances?
Jane&Andy
07-07-2005, 06:03 PM
lowcountrywed - I'm sorry that it looks like AF is on her way. :(
Charissa - here's what I found on antibiotics and contraception:
Question:
I'm on birth control pills and currently taking antibiotics. I've heard that antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Is this true?
No name / No state given
Answer:
The effects of antibiotics on birth control pills (oral contraceptives) may be overstated — except in the case of one antibiotic, rifampin. Studies clearly show that rifampin decreases the effectiveness of birth control pills in preventing ovulation.
Anecdotal evidence suggests this effect may also occur with other antibiotics, such as:
Amoxicillin
Metronidazole
Tetracycline
Cephalexin
Erythromycin
Isoniazid
Griseofulvin
No large studies have proved this effect. But researchers can't rule out the possibility that this may occur in a small percentage of women. Also, newer, extremely low-dose oral contraceptives could be more susceptible to these potential effects from antibiotics. If you're concerned, consider using a barrier method of contraception while taking antibiotics.

Thanks for the welcome looty. Welcome pacificbliss. Thanks for the info on the bc and antibiotics. I knew that they effected bc but didn't know exactly how! Anyway, I finally go off bc this week! Tomorrow is my final pill :D We are looking forward to actively trying. I talked to my DH and he said he is ready to be a dad!
Sorry for the bad news about AF lowcountrywed, but I do agree it is fun to keep enjoying the prepreggo joys while we can! As for us, our weekend plans consist of my DH going golfing early sat while I sleep in! Then I do my errands then we have plans with friends in the evening. We will probably see Fantastic 4, on sunday my DH and I love going to the movies. I hope you all have a great weekend! :)

I haven't been actively TTCing for about 3 years, so I'm a little rusty, but I do believe CD stands for cycle day. Good luck!

How long do you all wait until you take a home PG test? My doctor's instructions were to take it at CD35 if no AF. However, does anyone take one 14 days after O? I'm a very impatient person and don't think I could wait until CD35, unless I didn't O until CD 21.
pacificbliss
07-08-2005, 07:31 PM
I don't think I could wait that long either. I recently went in for an annual/pre-TTC appointment and asked my Dr. that same question. She said that most HPTs on the market are fairly accurate and that as long as you are within a couple days of AF you would get a positive if you were pg. Of course, that's just one Dr. She also told me that they still would not see me in the office for a few weeks after the BFP and I thought that was odd.
Jane&Andy

Welcome KaliLily.
Pacificbliss - as someone else already mentioned CD stands for cycle day. CD 1 is the first day of AF with CD 14 being the approximate day of ovulation (this varies from person to person though). When I start the thread for August I'll dig up a list of abbreviations and their definitions to include at the start of the thread.
KaliLily - As far as when to test - I don't know what the earliest possible day to get a BFP is but I know I've seen people post that they got one as early as 11DPO (days post ovulation). Beyond that its a personal preference. I tested early my first cycle TTC and found the stress of those BFNs too hard to deal with so now I just wait on AF. I've never had a cycle longer than 28 days so I figure if I ever make it past that then I will test. But thats just my preference.
KaliLily

She also told me that they still would not see me in the office for a few weeks after the BFP and I thought that was odd.
That is odd. Then again, I've never been PG so what do I know? :) My DR wants me to come in for a blood test as soon as I get a positive home test to confirm. This is because in Oct. 2000 I had 2 false positive urine tests at my family physician's office. Interestingly, I couldn't fool the home tests which is how we figured out early on that the results were false.

The doctor's wait til you are about 8 weeks pregnant before seeing you. That is because a lot can happen in those 8 weeks and you can't really see or hear anything before than anyway.
I took a HPT after 2 months of missed periods, didn't think I was pregnant, but at 14 weeks got a BFP and scheduled an appt and was at the doctor's office later that day for script for blood draw and about 6 days later was my appt.
I am presently Day 30 of a usual 33-35 day cycle and DPO 8, waiting until next week or even after the wedding next weekend to test as long as AF doesn't show up in a few days.

But don't they want to get PG women on a prenatal vitamin as soon as possible? I've been taking an OTC prenatal vitamin for years but some women don't. Isn't folic acid important early on?

You can call them to schedule an appt and they will write a script out for prenatals, they don't really need to see you though, since there is nothing to see anyway, since a baby is only the size of a poppy seed that early. But OTC ones are fine as well.

my fingers are crossed for you Keirstin. I hope this is it for you!
KaliLily - you don't necessarily have to take prescription prenatals. Folic acid is important for early embryonic development, before you even know you're pregnant. 400 micrograms is enough for anyone who is not considered high risk which is what my regular multivitamin contained. I've been taking Target brand prenatals and they contain 800 micrograms.

That's what I take, too. I've been taking an OTC prenatal multivitamin w/ at least 800 micrograms of folic acid for about 6 years now. Way back when people looking through my medicine cabinet were probably thrown off seeing that bottle next to my BCPs. :)

I think I'm 6DPO, but I'm not temping or checking CM daily. I'm thinking about temping, but the digital thermometer I have now beeps every few seconds and DH doesn't wake up until an hour after I LEAVE, so it would annoy the heck out of him if I did that each morning when I got up at 6! I've contemplated charting next cycle. I'm torn though because I'm trying not to get too caught up in all of it and stay relaxed. I got pretty crazy the last time we were TTCing and it was very counterproductive. I've promised my DH that I'd do my best to keep from turning into the scary, obsessed person I was back then.

There is a speaker on the backside of the thermometer that you can put your thumb over so it won't wake your hubby up. I have been temping and marking when we BD and did take OPK this cycle. I am presently DPO 10 (Sunday)

As for me, I just got back from vacation. It was great to keep my mind off everything. Now that I'm home TTC is back on the brain FULL TIME. I should get AF today. Sorry to all the ladies who have gotten BFN.
I haven't been here in a few days because I was camping with my parents. It was nice and I got to take my puppy swimming, which she loves.
I am not planning on charting because as others have said I am already pretty absorbed in this process and I am trying to keep my Dh and myself sane. If it takes us a while then I may take the leap but I hope it doesn't come to that. It is hard not to be pulled into that since I am really hoping to get pregnant in a certain time frame since I am a teacher.

I think I'm going to start charting to just figure out what my cycles are going to be. I was on BCP for about 6 years and it was a nice 28 day cycle of course... Thinking back I was on BCP I had really LONG cycles. I also have rhumatoid arthritis so i'm curious how much that will play into the mix.
Thanks for the tip about the therometer. My husband is a really light sleeper and I know that the beeping will probably annoy him. He's been gone off and on these past 3 weeks so it probably won't happen this month. Plus we have been pretty stressed out getting our church food booth ready for a major festival. Just in kind of a wait and see mode :)

I just started charting this cycle. I think my temps got thrown off by me staying at my Mom's house (in a warm room) last weekend and then I was sick. And of course those were the critical days for me figuring out if I ovulated and when. Oh well, I'll keep temping.
If I don't end up PG this cycle then I'll buy some of that sperm friendly lube online.
I'm on CD 16 today.

Hello everyone. Hi to all the new gals. Hope you all have short stays here!:)
Well, as for me, still no AF. The cramps have been weird and on and off, but no PMS symptoms. No moods, no sore BBs at all. Hmmm… I took another test this morning but got a BFN. You girls are right too much testing is stressful as are those BFNs, but for some reason I can’t stop testing.
The other tests I took the negative came up in under a minute. This one took almost the full three minutes. I wonder if that means anything. I know, probably just wishful thinking!
Well today is critical. If I can get through today with no AF I may be hopeful. Who am I kidding, I’m already hopeful, but I guess I’ll just have more reason to be.
I’m curious to hear what the soon to be charters think when/if they start charting. I too am super-obsessive too which is why I don’t want to do it. I’ll try and give it a few months I guess just not to drive myself crazy. Keep us informed though. I’d love to hear how it goes.
Jane – Sorry to hear your temps got screwed up this month. What a pain! I hope you O’d and BD’d at just the right time.:)
Jane&Andy
07-11-2005, 07:48 AM
thanks Jenn. What CD are you today?
I think we covered our bases with BDing. :) I've already lost the optimism that I had with those first few cycles of trying. Hopefully by just assuming that AF will come I'll be less disappointed when she does show up.
JennW
07-11-2005, 08:14 AM
I’m CD 24. So my fingers are crossed since I am 1 day late (even though I’m pretty irregular so anything could happen, who knows if my cycle just decided to be longer this month). I have no symptoms other than a vicious headache and very tired. But those could be contributed to by my lack of caffeine though I would think after giving it up 3 weeks ago my body would be over the shock of that. Who knows. Plus these cramps are confusing me. No idea if they are AF cramps or not. If AF doesn’t show up, I’ll be testing again tomorrow morning, if not tonight. I have to go out at lunch and find some cheaper tests. I bought 3 of the EPT Certainty digitals at BJs this weekend but I can’t afford this expensive testing habit.:D
Sorry to hear about your disappointment Jane. That really sucks. Here’s to hoping July is your month!:)
Hopefully this thread will be getting lots of BFPs this month!

Jenn - my cycles are usually short and the last two before TTC were 26 days. But on that first cycle TTC AF decided to wait out the full 28. I was soooo disappointed b/c I'd really gotten my hopes up. I haven't had a 28 day cycle since then. Its kind of funny (in a better to laugh than cry sort of way) that that first cycle TTC was the long one. Hopefully this is it for you!

What a pain! I have a feeling that might happen to me too though. My cycle is always all over the place, but almost always hovers around 23 days. My luck this month it will decide to be 28 days or something and I’ll spend days with my hopes up. Oh well. Nothing to do but wait. Perfect for an impatient person like me.;)
Any other news? Where are all other ladies in their CD, 2WW, testing?

Hello everyone!
I was a member of this thread in the "old place" and I see that I never got around to joining it here. I haven't gone "there" in forever! I hope you don't mind me coming in here now to make a special announcement.
I got a BFP on Saturday - CD36 and approximately 15DPO! I was so busy during the 2WW with work and travel that I didn't even think about this cycle or chart very well. So it was a bit of a surprise since I didn't have high hopes.
I *did* however use Instead Cups each and everytime we BDed. I have a feeling that helped our chances a lot. I loved using them.
I hope this starts a rash of BFP's around here. I'd like to stick around for a little while and cheer all of you on if you don't mind. Baby Dust to all!!! :) :) :)

Hi JennW. I remember seeing you around WC in Jane's journals. Good luck with TTC!! :)
I'm 10 days past hcg. My cycles have been 36 days (due to the clomid). I'm going to test this weekend, but my first missed day won't be for another week after that.
The waiting gets easier the more cycles you go through. I haven't had the urge to test this cycle yet. The BFN's are too much to deal with. Especially since I've been TTC for over a year now.
Anyhow, good luck to all!! I sure hope I see tons of BFP's soon!

I like your answer too, Jane!:) I third that notion!
I was just curious to people’s favorites as I remember reading on the other site about false negative, false positives, etc. I’m not really up on all of that stuff. I went to Wal-Mart today at lunch though and bought a First Response and an Equate. So we’ll see.
I still feel tons of subtle cramps but no AF. If she is coming I wish she would do it. Each minute that passes is getting my hopes up! Fingers crossed.:D Thing is, I have no idea when I O’d so I have no idea how many DPO or anything I am. I’m just going by the if you missed AF rule.;)
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Pacificbliss, this had me cracking up! Thanks for the laugh and hopefully you got rid of her for good!
Big Congrats to HSSweethearts. I'm wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months! This thread needed a grad..now hopefully everyone will follow.
Hugs to all of those who were visited by AF this cycle. I'm still in the 2WW, though I need to look up what day I am on. I'm not good at keeping track of this stuff.

Maureen -- Thanks for that article. It makes everything come into perspective. I agree everywhere you turn there is something to make you worry about the pregnancy and baby. It is good to read something reassuring.
Di -- Sorry to hear that AF found you. Have a drink for me. A margarita please. :p
Pacificbliss -- Your comment cracked me up too. She is leaving me too so I will help send her over there. So we can all get our BFP! :D

Hello ladies. Well, I tested this morning and got a very faint BFP! I am so excited but very scared. It was extremely faint (so faint you had to look for it) so I don’t know if I even have a right to be excited. I’m not sure if a line being really faint is a bad sign or even if it’s real. Maybe someone around here has some information. This is scary but exciting! I don’t know what to think/feel right now.:)
pacificbliss – LOL!:D
Mobox – good article, thanks for posting!
dionysia – Sorry about AF, but have fun at the party. It sounds like a blast.

Congrats JennW and HSSweetheart!!! Awesome news!
I have a question... I'm pretty regular cycle wise, like I'm the typical ovulate on day 14, and AF comes 14-15 days later... but how soon can one ovulate? is 10 days too early for someone who is normally 14? I feel like I can answer my own question, but you know how you always second guess yourself...
Have a good day everyone!
Congratulations to JennW and HSSweetheart!!

Thanks again ladies! I hope we do get a third person soon. And a fourth. And a fifth.
charissa - The answer is yes, you can ovulate sooner and as soon as 10 days. Cycles do crazy things sometime. I usually had 32-34 day cycles and my cycle before my BFP was 21 days! I did have ECM around day 9, so I'm positive that I just ovulated freakishly early.
Jane&Andy - I got my BFP on July 9 and according to Babycenter.com my EDD is March 17. That's based on June 4 LMP and a 34 day cycle. :)

As for me... i am having the worst time remembering to temp for charting in the morning. I am going to have to find a routine i can stick to because i am honestly just forgetting. The first time i did it i put the bbt on a plant stand right next to the bed so i would almost trip over it when i got out of bed. I guess i will have to resort to that again!

So does anyone other than those who just got BFP have anything exciting going on?
For me I am still only CD 6.
I guess I'll pose another question of the day:
When you do get that BFP will you find out the sex or not?
For me...I am thinking not at this point in time but I also reserve the right to change my mind when the time comes. ;)

I am CD 1, AF showed her ugly face this afternoon.
We will find out the sex of baby 2. Loved having a name for little miss. Being able to call her by her name, really made us connect a lot. Hubby wanted to find out all along, I wanted to wait, but after we found out, was so happy to be able to say we were having a a daughter.

I always thought I would know the sex of the first child, but DH is so SERIOUS about not knowing. I have grown to like the idea, but it's not nearly as much fun picking out the nurserey, accessories, clothes etc.

I'll most likely let DH have his way, seeing that once I do get the BFP he'll have to wait on me hand and foot ;)

QOTD: I definitely want to know what the sex of our child is, as I can't stand surprises! :)
This may be a total newbie question, but how does the Instead cup work to help with conception?
Also, I'm now CD23, roughly 8 DPO if I correctly guessed my O day, and I thought we could start testing as early as 10 DPO with the very sensitive tests and 14 DPO with the standard tests. May I ask why you are waiting until 18 DPO, mayham? Did I miss something?

Ok, I've searched the web to read up on pregnancy symptoms, because my sense of smell has been heightened lately. I can smell candles that are a few feet away, a dank/moist smell in the dishwasher, and other random stuff I never noticed before.
My BBs are also REALLY sore and seem a lot bigger, but it should be too soon for these symptoms, since I'm only 8 DPO. It's more likely to be PMSing, which is what I originally though earlier in the week when BBS first started to hurt. Anyone else able to comment on weird symptoms that don't seem like normal PMSing? Is this just my hopeful ever optimistic self seeing things that aren't really there?

Smiles33 - You can get Instead Cups at the drug store. They are meant to collect your Menstrual Flow, however, women have begun using it to TTC by inserting it immediately after BDing. The idea is that all of the spermies will collect in the cup and won't leak out. By leaving it in, the spermies will be closer to the cervix and will make their way up to where they need to go.
When I used them I noticed that the cup was pretty much empty when I took it out. :) I found them extremely comfortable to use and they avoided a lot of mess.
Erika & kmfroggie - So sorry AF showed up. :( :(
QOTD - We will definitely find out the sex as well.

Congratulations JennW! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 9 months!
After reading on the boards about these Instead cups for awhile, I think I might try them next cycle. I was on the Ring for 2 years before TTC, so I don't see that it coul dbe much different putting them in and such.
QOTD: I'm not sure on this. I'd like to wait and it be a surprise but I'm not sure I could handle it. Also, there are some issues with the ILs there that I would have to work through....they firmly believe it should be a surprise, so if we do find out, I think we would keep it to ourselves.

ok, I have a funny story to share with y'all.
My nephew is almost 3 and his sister is about to turn 1. My nephew has been asking where things come from lately - mostly where did this shirt come from? where did this toy come from? Well, he asked my sister where did my sister come from? She said to him, "Remember when my belly was big? The baby was in there and when she was ready to come out the doctor took her out." He sat there for a minute and processed what he'd been told. Then he looked at my sister and said, "You ate my sister!?!"

Of course, my sister if pg and she found out the gender... first it was a boy, now they are saying girl... So who the heck knows what she is having! They were using a 3D sonogram so there was less room for error than with a traditional ultrasound. I told her i think she is having twins and that they keep hiding behind each other! ha ha.

My niece said she isn't sure if it is a boy or girl and that she wont be convinced until he is born. 07-13-2005, 10:39 AM
the baby will be at a more fun age by the time you get to meet him/her. So far I've met all my neices and nephews when they were 4-6wks old. It was wonderful to see and hold them but there really wasn't much I could do for them - newborns aren't all that much fun for spectators (in my experience at least).
ellidew
07-13-2005, 11:34 AM
agreed. I hadn't thought of it that way. When my sister had my niece 7 years ago she was only 20 and still living at home so i got to spend a lot of newborn time with her. When she was 8-10 months old they moved to morocco for the first time. They came back about a year later and were here until she was about 4. They have been in and out of the state/country ever since then. I am glad my niece is at the age now that she can email and call me. It was hard when she was so little.

we have a neice and nephew on Andy's side that we have minimal contact with. They moved around a lot (in the military) and Andy's brother hasn't put much effort into keeping in touch. No one has seen them since my wedding (over 2 yrs ago), not even a single photo. My MIL defends him and says he doesn't have time. I know my Mom would throw a fit if she went for more than a month without a photo of her grandkids! but everyone is different. Its hard to keep in touch with the kids.
my neices and nephews on my side are all too young still for phone calls. I've talked to Teddy (almost 2) on the phone but he never listens - just jabbers away and then hangs up on me. :p I've had one good conversation with my older nephew (almost 3) about the train that went by and went choo choo choo. :p

Hey Jane,
I have a niece who is going to be turning 3 next week and she's the same way. She'll say Hi Auntie, then tell me what she's doing, then say bye bye. But she is soo cute she loves Disney princess stuff and is having her bday party in that theme. My sis-in-law is trying to convince either me or my sister to dress up as 1 of them!
QOTD--Yeah we would find out the gender, its just easier to plan that way!

07-13-2005, 12:43 PM
my nephew is hooked on Thomas the Train. :) He's hilarious. We all went on a vacation together at the beach and he didn't want to go out any further than the pool steps. My Mom was out there swimming so I said "Come on, lets go swim with Nana." He scowled at me and said "No, you go swim with Nana!" But he's a sweet kid, much more cuddly now then when he was younger.

My niece did the same things on the phone when she was younger. Talk talk talk click! Funny! At 7 she only talks if she has something to tell you about otherwise she would rather be off playing. Can't blame her for that! She is our only niece or nephew. Dh doesn't have any brothers or sisters and i have 2 sisters. The younger one didn't even want kids up until about a year ago and before that she had always said she didn't want any! She has only been with her bf for about a year and she isn't the settling down type so i will be shocked if they are still together or even married anytime in the near future! So there wont be any nieces or nephews on that side anytime soon. I am really my moms next best bet at grandkids. Hopefully dh and i will have a whole brood!

ellidew - my seventh neice/nephew is due next month. Its fun to have all the kids around (well, the 4 that are on my side at least since we see them frequently) but its expensive. Their birthdays are all clumped together - its like shopping for xmas twice a year.
Jenn - good luck with your appointment. :)
looty
07-13-2005, 09:33 PM
Jenn~I'll second the good luck at the appointment. I'm sure the tests will start getting darker if you wait a few days to take another one.
Jane~Pretty much all my nephews love Thomas too. My MIL gets them all started. I told my SIL that I hope she doesn't get any of our kids started because those things are expensive! She spent $250 on a Thomas train track set for my oldest nephew's birthday when he was 2. Yikes!
I have 5 nephews and one neice on my DH's side and none on my side. It gets expensive at Christmas and that is another reason I can't wait to have a kid so we can suggest that the cousins just draw names. (I don't feel like I can now since I don't have a kid it would be like me saying, "I don't want to buy any of your kids things when I don't have a kid you have to buy" for." I'm sure you could imagine how that would go over.) At least their birthdays are spread out. Although I have two who have their birthday in the same week of Christmas and two in January. Ouch on the wallet!
I'm only on CD 7 so I'm not in the exciting part yet.
Sorry to those that got AF. Hopefully there will be a different outcome next cycle.

Looty - I've been buying Thomas stuff at AC Moore using the 40% off coupon. Luckily, my Mom has been generous with the kids and has given them a lot of what they need to get started. Last Fall when my nephew turned 2 he got a lot of Thomas stuff for his birthday from various people. So that really cuts down on the expense. As far as exchanging gifts - I still buy for my sisters and their kids but they only buy for each other's kids. Once I have kids I guess I'll stop exchanging gifts with them. It will make for a small xmas for me - I've told DH he'll have to spoil me then!
Seapod - my fingers are crossed for you! I hope you get your BFP!
Ericka - I'm sorry you are going through a hard time, I can't even imagine how difficult this must be for you. {{{HUGS}}}
I'm on CD 19 now. FF is now saying I'm only 3DPO whereas before it said I had ovulated way early (CD8). Seeing as AF always comes early that would mean I have a short LP. OK, so my fertility friend chart says i O'd on CD9, which seems so odd for me, since I'm usually pretty regular with a 30 day cycle. I guess a few months ago I had a 27 day cycle, but this is just odd.
And to top it all off, I got into a car accident yesterday... some guy rear ended me on the way to work, i was just minding my own business at the stop light then BAM... ugh. So i have to go take my car in, go to the doctor to get checked on... what a pain.
Can anyone take a look at my chart and let me know what you think?? I think I'm going crazy...

Charissa - I peaked at your chart but I'm no expert. Is this your first cycle charting? Its my first. Mine said I O'd on CD8, then it decided I hadn't O'd yet b/c my temps dropped. Now my temps are back up so its saying I O'd on CD16. That seems late for me. So to make a long story short, I'd say just keep temping and watch what happens.
I'm sorry to hear about your accident. Were you hurt? Last time I was rear ended I was pretty sore for about 2 days but find after that.
ellidew
07-14-2005, 09:09 AM
Charissa - That stinks! What a crappy day!
FF has your coverline at the same temp for both charts so that could be right. (you only have the 2 charts, right?) FF automatically gives you a coverline once you have 3 higher temps in a row. Have you been temping at the same time each day, no alcohol or stress or medication or other? I would just keep temping and bd'ing :D until you are further into your cycle. So many factors play into your temp. If you really only have the 2 charts too then it is hard to compare what your cycle does each month. Hopefully this is your cycle for a BFP though so here's some BABY DUST! ;)

Some of you will recognize me from the WC thread, I just got back from vacation (well on Sunday) and even though I was not going to join CC because I wanted to stick with WC I decided to join both :D ... can you say obsession??.
Vacation went great, a very much needed time off from everything and everyone. We also had some good BDing, right now I am on 2WW (CD19) I am not 100% sure when I O or if I did, because last month I had pretty bad O cramps and this month didn't. But I kept an eye on CM and I think I did around CD12-13. So for now the waiting game starts. I am pretty busy with school, our new house (we are closing on Monday and moving in on Saturday) and lots of other staff going on, so that should keep my head off testing until I am late. Last month was a 30 day cycle, my MIL will be here around then, so I am going to wait until she leaves to test if AF doesn't show before then, at that point I would be 3 days late... lets see if I can!
I can't leave without congratulating the new graduates!!!! JennW I can't believe how short this journey was for you, I wish there were more like yours aroud!! congrats and let us know how your first appointment goes.

Thanks Jane and Ellidew for taking a peak.
I'm wondering if the heat is making my temps high... and yes, I've been taking my temp right at 5:00 AM every morning..... man, this is really confusing. This is my second month charting. Last month I O'd on the 14th... so I was thinking this was a little early.
I hope my temp drops even further tomorrow, b/c then that'd make me feel a little more back to normal. I've been trying to keep track of my CM as well, and it didn't seem like I was in that "fertile" period. sigh. Oh well, guess i will just keep on BDing and temping and checking... darn I thought i was a texbook girl... haha.
Thanks again ladies.

I fell a little behind.
Ericka- I am so sorry. I am thinking of you and sending happy vibes, hugs, and baby dust. I thought I would post a story in the hope that it makes you smile
I think DH has gotten into this TTC thing. We said we'd just go about our lives and if it happened it happened. That said I am pretty sure I can tell when I O and I have learned a lot on this thread. I know enough at this point to say the man had better save some of that for next week! Seriously, last night I was watering the yard and he came out to get me. Do men run in some sort of cycle too? Because if they do I think mine is having the testosterone equivalent of ovulation. :D

I was already on Metformin to combat PCOS, Prometrium to induce a period and Zyrtec for my allergies when my body decided it was time for a bacterial infection. I went to the doctor Monday after being sick (sore throat & ears, cough, congestion) for 3 weeks and was put on an antibiotic. One more medication to add to my "arsenal," and lucky me it has similar side effects to 2 of the 3 I was already on (nausea, diarrhea). I feel awful. :(

Mel~Sorry that your DH isn't going to be home much this month. Is he going to home on the weekend that is close to your fertile time?
Ericka~I'm thinking of you and praying for you and your DH. I'm sure it is really hard. Just know you have a lot of support here.
Charissa~Sorry about the accident. That happened to me a while ago and unfortunately it was a student from the school I worked at that rear ended me. I'm sure he was embarrassed. :)
Babywish~ Welcome and I hope that your stay here is short (as well as mine ;) ).
I am currently on CD 8 and just practicing for the baby dancing fest. My DH says that we should practice as much as we can because practice makes perfect. He teases that the more we practice the more perfect our baby will be.
Hoping we get another BFP soon! Is it going to be you Heather?

Dropping in to wish everyone luck!
KaliLily - sorry you're feeling awful. Hope the antibiotics are already helping you on the road to recovery.
charissa - i've wondered the same thing about the heat and its affect on temping. The instructions that came with my basal therm say that if you use an electric blanket or heating pad, it can affect your temp, so you should keep them at the same setting through the night to keep it constant. I'm not sure how much weather can play a factor, but being in Boston, there are mornings I wake up roasting, and others where it's chilly. What's a girl to do??
I'm on 10 DPO, still above coverline, but my temps seem to be declining. I guess I'll take it day by day and just hope it doesn't drop below CL.

Hi everyone. I just took an Answer HPT and got a BFN. Today is CD26, 4 days before I expect to get AF so I think it's likely that I'm not pregnant this cycle. :( I may try again if it doesn't show up Monday. Hope others have better news this weekend!

Thanks for the support. Yesterday was terrible, but today is looking better. It even appears that AF has arrived, despite having 2 days of prometrium left. It usually takes 1 - 1/2 weeks for AF to arrive. Crossing my fingers it's really here so I can start my first round of Clomid. I stocked up on lingerie so I'm ready! :D
Good luck to everyone else!

Everyone have a good weekend! Happy bd'ing! :D

so i logged in some CM information into my FF chart. So it reset my ovulation date as "not detected yet" I think the high temperature in weather is causing my high BBT. Last night we slept downstairs to help alleviate my back and DH's hate of the heat... and my temp was much lower.
my revised chart:

I'm suppose to start AF on Sunday and I already feel a little crampy. So I guess I'm migrating to August. Well, I didn't expect it to happen in the first month anyway.

smiles33--Let's hope it was just too early and you will get you BFP in a few days. I don't know much about it but isn't four days before your period's due a bit early? You may still be pregnant.
KaliLily--Good luck on your first round of clomid. I;m sure DH will appreciate the lingerie.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and someone can come back with good news on Monday morning. :D

Thanks for all the good wishes...I just examined my AF dates for the last 7 cycles (since Nov.) and realized I don't have 28 day cycles.
I haven't charted yet, but I always write down the first day AF gets here:
11/28
12/29
2/2 (January was stressful)
3/6
4/8
5/19 (April was REALLY stressful)
6/20
June/July hasn't been really stressful, but it was the first month of us actively TTC (e.g., timing BD when I noticed changes in CM, especially the days of EWCM). I noticed EWCM arund 7/4, which would have been CD14, which is why I went ahead and tested this past Friday, what was supposed to be 4 days before AF comes if I had a 28 day cycle.
Looty, the test I bought (Answer from Target) said you can test as early as 4 days before you expect AF, though it doesn't detect pregnancies in all women that early.
Anyhow, since my AF falls closer to 30-34 day cycles, I'm going to try and wait until Wed. before trying another HPT.

Looks like keeping track of you cycles has paid off for you! Hopefully you'll get the BFP in a few days :)
As for me I will be on CD 11-13 when DH is home next weekend. Since I have no idea what my cycles are like yet, I am optimistic that I could O during that time, but certainly not holding my breath! Hopefully by next month we'll have some idea of my cycle AND my O day will fall on a weekend :)

Smiles,
Most women don't have 28 day cycles. Answer tests are the type of test I used when I got my BFP (faint line) and than got the digital ones for the next day to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Best time to test is after DPO 10. I don't fully chart, mostly just started to do the temp thing each morning and marking down when cycle starts, ends and when we BD. I don't do all the CM checks and Cervix positioning and such
Wish you the best with TTC and hopefully even being pregnant now.
Myself - I am presently CD 6, keep me in prayer that this will be our month. Trying to stay calm as we approach Vacation Bible School at church in about 2 weeks. (I'm the director)

Hope everyone had a wonderfule weekend... any BFPs to report?? I can't wait to see some more this month!.
I am CD23 ~ and I think DPO9, but who knows! I just read some of the stuff I wrote last month around this time and i got to say I am so happy I have other stuff going on this month. Still no urge to test and taking things very easy. honestly I didn't even think about it the whole weekend! We just close on the new house and we will be spending the evenings there to paint a couple of rooms and set some stuff up before the move (Saturday).
MIL is coming in town on Wednesday and will stay with us for a week. No symptoms at all yet, other than a couple of lighheaded episodes this weekend, BUT I didn't eat anything prior to that and that is not uncommom on me, not reading much into it.
Somehow I think even though we had great BDing timing it may not be our month, but we will see... time will tell.
If AF doesn't show up by next Wednesday I will be testing on Thursday am... if I can keep myself relaxed until then .
Lets keep these BPFs coming ladies!!

I'm on CD23 too. Not sure how many DPO, my chart just switched from saying I O'd on CD16 to CD8. But I was pretty warm when I woke up today so I think my temperature might have been thrown off by the warm weather. No testing for me, I'm going to wait this one out. My cycles have been anywhere from 25-28 days so I don't have much longer to wait.
babywish
07-18-2005, 09:30 AM
Keeping my fingers crossed for you Jane! I totally hear you on not testing, that is exactly why I am going to wait until next Thursday (i would be three days late by then). I wish my cycles were 25-28, so far this is my second cycle off BCP and the first on was 30 so I am thinking 28-30 for mine (at least that is how they were pre BCP). We will see...
BFPs anyone??

Hello ladies,
I'm new to CC and figure I should just jump in and join this thread because it fits me well. :) My husband and I have been married for 10 years and are finally taking the leap and are TTC starting this month. We both want children so much but he's a bit more hesitant about it than I am and just wants to "see what happens". I don't think he's so sure about dealing with me for 9 months. :P Although he seems to be getting into it now. I think all the BDing is bringing him around. ;)
So right now I'm just waiting for AF to show up. She's supposed to make her appearance the end of this week. I'm almost positive that we didn't get the timing right this month. I was kind of confused about when I O'd because I had egg white CM more than once this month so I'm not sure. I even had the same CM this morning on CD23 and I can't possibly be Oing right before AF. Maybe I just don't know my body well enough yet? That's probably it. I'm so new to all this so I feel a little in the dark about certain things still. I need to do more reading. I figure if AF doesn't come by Sunday, I'll test that morning.
I wish everyone luck for the rest of the month and congrats to those with BFP's!! I hope we get lots more!! We could all use some baby dust! ;)

Welcome Shanna! Hope you figure things out soon. I am in the same boat of having no idea what's really going on because this is our first month trying too.
Adrienne--I hope the third time's the charm for you! By the way I love your name. It's in the running for a future daughter. :)
Smiles33--Thanks for informing me. I didn't realize you could test that early. It's probably not good to know that though because I'm sure I'll be more tempted to test early.
To everyone: Good luck and here's hoping for BFPs all around!

Hi girls,
I hope this isn't TMI but I am so upset I just have to write it down. DH and I had said we would start TTC in July or August. I think I have mentioned a couple of times that he was nervous and not totally convinced we were ready. We never formally talked about it but all month I have been talking about kids...so has he. We're at the baseball park and we will talk about how fun it will be to take our kids. He told me the other day that a friend of his commented on what a good Dad he is going to be so I know he has been discussing this with friends. A week ago I mentioned that I thought the first chance we had at conceiving would be his birthday (this weekend) and he smiled and said ok. So last night he really threw me for a loop when he stopped and grabbed a condom. I was so stunned I just burst into tears. He says to me, "You weren't expecting this." I couldn't believe it...no, I wasn't expecting it. He hasn't used a condom all month. I never confirmed we were officially trying because I did not want to be dramatic about it and freak him out. We haven't discussed it yet. He said sorry and then everytime we started to talk I just cried so we went downstairs to watch a movie. I have been so depressed since then. We've had the discussion like 1000 times that no one is really ever ready and he can't ever give me a reason to wait so I don't know what's going on. Maybe we'll talk tonight...if I can stop myself from crying.
I guess I don't belong in this thread after all...
Sorry if this is TMI. Thanks for listening.

Aw Pacificbliss, I'm sorry that your DH threw you for a loop like that. I'd be upset too. Hopefully he'll come around. I don't have any great advice but I wanted to let you know that I understand. Once you've been able to calm down enough you guys probably just need to sit and talk. Get it all out in the open and try to pull out of him why he isn't ready to start trying. I'm new here so you don't know much about me but as you can see from my siggie, I've been married for 10 years and we're just now trying. That doesn't mean I didn't want children from the second we got married but it's taken me this long to get my DH to agree and to be ready for it. And he still acts a little bit like he isn't so sure. Men sure can be difficult, can't they? They're lucky we love them so much. ;) Let us know how it goes, k?

Pacificbliss..... Just wanted to offer my support. DH and I went thru the same thing...a few times. DH finally told me that he was afraid of not being a good enough father, how our relationship was going to change, financial responsiblities... blah blah blah...I tried to be as understanding as I could and just let him talk. I know this is probably not something you want to hear but if he REALLY isn't ready....you don't want to have a baby right now...most likely, if he really isn't ready, he might not be as involved as you would hope and that could lead to MAJOR resentment....
Hope I am not overstepping any boundaries.... I am just trrying to be helpful.

I wanted to chime in, too, as my DH was very reluctant to TTC for over a year, despite my frequent sobbing whenever I was highly emotional (which was a lot). But then suddenly, 3 months ago, he said he felt ready and was no longer uncertain. Before, he literally had a physical reaction in terms of terror/fear at the thought of fatherhood/loss of independence.
I am SO glad I waited and didn't try to push him into TTC (other than my passive aggressive sobbing, that is) or trick him.
Good luck waiting....
Jane&Andy
07-19-2005, 06:53 AM
I'm sorry pacificbliss. :( When you are ready I'd recommend sitting down with your DH and getting things out in the open.
I've had the babybug since before we even got married. I knew we wouldn't start trying til after we'd been married for awhile and were more financially secure but that didn't mean I didn't want it right then anyway. I thought DH knew just how hard it was for me but it wasn't til I started balling when a friend announced her pregnancy that he realized just how bad I wanted it. Of course, that friend now has a 1yr old and is PG again and I'm still not pregnant. :(
Anyway, I realized that I couldn't just assume he knew how I felt and what I wanted. So we talked about it some more and finally set our TTC date.
DH was more hesitant than I was to TTC. But he had a rough childhood - his parents had a lot of kids and a very bad marriage and eventually divorced. I told him it didn't have to be like that. I don't have any advice for helping your DH get over his fears. It just took some time for mine, not that he's completely over those fears still. But no one goes into TTC with no fears.

DH and I have been married for less than a year, we have known each other for five and been together for three. The big issue we always had were children… I never daydream with my wedding day when I was a little girl, but instead I daydreamed with the day I gave birth to my DS or DD. DH on the other hand was reluctant to have children, once we got serious dating I told him “we have been together for three months and this seems like if is going somewhere, before either of us regrets it I want to make one thing clear I want to be a mom, so if you feel so str
