Does anyone watch "Ghost Hunters" on the Sci-Fi channel? I got hooked on it when it aired before. I'm so glad that it'll be back! It starts back up on July 27th at 8pm. Anyone else interested?

Here's the Sci-Fi Channel link:

I'm soooo happy that it's coming back. I also got hooked on it when they aired it before and was so bummed when they stopped airing. I thought the show got taken off permanently. I love that show! Thanks for posting the info!

I love their accents! ;)

And the drama last season about that guy who was making everyone made by losing valuable equipment and screwing up! ;)

Did anyone else watch it last night? How freaky!! I really want to go and stay there now but there's no way I'd get DH to go with me if he knew it was haunted. Don't know if I could get anyone to go with me actually. I thought that figure by the front door was questionnable if it truly was on the outside because it could have been anyone but there was no denying the figure that dashed in front of the thermal cam.

I was thrilled to see the promo for the new season recently!
I loved that show last year and then forgot about it when I got busy with a new job....
But how exciting!

Anyone else: I was watching my first episode and wondering "is this a spoof-type show?!" "Is this for real?!" I mean, come on, plumbers by day, ghost-busters by night?! You couldn't make this stuff up it's soooo good!

Happy1

Last season when I started watching it I thought it was a spoof at first until I really got into it. I really like that their main goal is to go to disproove hauntings. So often times, what they say is totally true-you can make anything up in your mind and truly believe you see it if that's what you want to believe. But when they catch stuff on tape with all their equipment and then go and try to figure out how that could have been duplicated by a human hand, it definitely is much more convincing! Sounds like they're getting more and more business. I wouldn't doubt it, if they can keep up doing what they're doing that eventually they'll quit the plumbing business altogether.

I watched a marathon of this show in the spring when my DH was out of town. I shouldn't have done that - it completely freaked me out. But it's just so cool. I'll probably try to watch the new ones (and have to sleep with the lights on or something).

Was sort of disappointed with the show last night. As sick as it sounds, I was really hoping the bones they found were human. However I do like that they do go to these places as sceptics because otherwise the show wouldn't be as believable.

Can't wait for next week!

I agree that it wasn't as "exciting" as it could have been....there seem to be more people in the TAPS crew this season.

I did think it was funny when they showed the 2 guys goofing off instead of watching all the footage... :p

It was nice to see that TAPS has a real office building now instead of just a trailer.

I could have done without the freaky splash images they kept showing. The show freaks me out enough without them showing me fake ghost images in between scenes.

I'm still a little freaked by the "Have them leave" sound. (And the image of the guy in the cape running at the prison last season).

So who else watched last night?
I LOVED that they were on this big old battle ship! Although it totally would have freaked me out (small small spaces in the dark, no thank you)!

Definately interesting that Grant and (oops...forget his name!) were wandering around in the bowels of the ship and had that "run-in" with some noises and shadow...

As far as the other site goes, I was disappointed that they didn't come up with more, especially in Jackson's birthplace-house. That looked like it had real potential for a haunting to me!

I watched last night and it was great! That ship totally freaked me out. I so could not do that night watchman job.. gives me the heeby jeebies.. I thought it was pretty funny with Grant and Jason in the bowels of the ship you could tell they were getting ticked and very nervous, especially when they asked the camera guy if he was doing it.

I felt bad for half the team that got food poisioning or whatever it was from that diner. I hope they go back to that house sometime, I bet they'd catch all sorts of spooky stuff.

WOW! I forgot I started this thread! ;) I haven't seen last night's yet (I taped it and haven't watched it).

I wonder what is up with Brian. He always leaves equipment behind and he's always on the phone to his GF! Even his assistant had to call him on it! And what was up with him and his assistant not paying attention when they were going thru footages a few weeks ago? They were more interested and burping and blowing it towards the other, chatting and talking on the phone! I personally don't think Brian will last thru this season!

I don't want to give anything away but watch the preview for next weeks show, your suspicions about Brian could be correct.

I totally agree about Brian. And even though his "buddy" tries to warn him he just doesn't take a hint.

I can't believe I missed the part of the show with the Andrew Jackson house although it sounds like I didn't miss much. I loved the ship though. Especially when the guys were getting really ticked off thinking someone was playing a prank on them.

I always thought it would be so neat to have an encounter. However the other night as I walked up to the historic cemetery that's right next to our house, an owl cried out and I jumped so high.:p I pretty much ran back to the house and stayed inside the rest of the night. Maybe I'm not ready for an encounter quite yet but I still would love to stay in that haunted plantation that was on Ghost Hunters a few episodes back.

I finally saw the episode and the preview. I was glad Brian wasn't in this one. He's really getting on my nerves. I seriously thought he wouldn't be with TAPS for long after I saw the first episode and heard how Grant and Jason were talking about him and what he's been doing (and not doing).

And when Steve and Brian were supposed to be going over the footage...and Steve burped and blew it in Brian's face. YUCK. How childish! That's what I'd expect out of a junior high kid or a freshman or sophomore!

I couldn't believe it when I saw that preview, though! ;) It looks like it's going to be an interesting episode!

Despite being a repeat (at 8:00), that Battle Ship episode still creeped me out!!
And it was cool seeing a new group working in the firehouse/theatre. I had high hopes for the theatre, but not the firehouse.

And just for the record, when the guys were fooling around in the theatre, and Steve said (while wearing his Rapunzel wig) that "...all Portuguese girls have 5:00 shadows." THIS Portuguese girl DOES NOT! ;)

OK, so geek that I am decided to check out the SciFi Channel website for information on the TAPS show; turns out both Jason and Grant are writers:

Today, TAPS' founder, Jason, is in his early 30s, a plumber and the father of three girls and twin sons. Jason enjoys spending quality time with his children, deep-sea fishing and writing screenplays — he has written four in the sci-fi/thriller genre.
When he's not hunting ghosts or holding down a day job, Grant enjoys whipping up a mean Italian dish (he spent two years in Italy and speaks the language fluently), writing songs on the piano and guitar and penning a 25-volume series of high-fantasy novels.

And, it is a HUGE organization:
It has been more than a decade since Jason and Grant met. Since then TAPS has grown in size and scope to become one of the most respected paranormal-investigation groups in America. It now has branches across the United States and affiliates in 12 other countries.

LOL! Who knew? I figured they were this quiet little New England group doing their own thing and someone at SciFi had been tipped off about them.
Anyway, I love this show and it just makes me enjoy it even more :p

Brandles
08-29-2005, 06:51 AM
They were on the cover of "Television Weekly"--a publication DH gets! I'm going to have to find it and read it!

They always seem to have "TAPS affiliates" in the cities they travel to...some even come on the hunts with them! But...I didn't know it was THAT big.

So....looks like Brian is gone. Not such a bad thing, eh?
Although I was surprised by the reactions of Grant and Jason; I thought they would be more "happy" about it, but it was good to see that all 3 were sad about the decision.
Very interesting indeed.

But Steve is a GREAT tech specialist and I am sure he will be great in that new role.

Too bad about the lighthouse; that certainly had potential!

Katyanne
09-01-2005, 08:12 AM
Yeah, I expected them to be happier as well that he was gone. But apparently they've been friends for years and when they mentioned that he's in a destructive relationship it looks like he's in a downward spiral that they can't help him out of. So I'm sure this has been pretty draining on them for awhile.

I really like Steve too, he honestly reminds me personality wise and look wise of Vinnie from American Choppers/Orange County Choppers if anyone has seen that show.
What's up with Andy? He seems kinda strung to me and just seemed kinda "off" last night. I know he claimed he had a migraine but the way he was acting towards everyone was odd.. Causing more tension than Steve had caused by speaking up.KWIM?

Hmmm..I missed the migraine mention; but he did seem more "high-strung" than usual in last nights show. I am not a big fan of his, so pretty much everything he says and does is irritating ( :p )

Next week looks really really good, apparently a little boy is being terrorized by a ghost.. kept up all night and even has his toes pulled. They also check out a spooky house and apparently from the preview there's something there..

And don't ya love NYC! They are standing around the city with lots of expensive equipment behind them! Of course someone walked off with a case; but the balls to do it with a camera rolling!!!!

Ah, too funny! I am glad too that it all worked out well in the end.

Creepy ghost stories involving kids always get to me, but I will be watching it for sure.

It's funny how wrapped up in the people you can get on these shows. I have zero interest in cars or motorcycles, yet I watch American Hot Rod and American Chopper with DH just so I can see what crazy things the people are doing now. Ghosthunters definitely hooked me with the concept, but now I like to watch the people interactions almost as much as the investigations.

I'm not sad that Brian is gone; he annoyed me. And Andy needs to chill and not put so much goop in his hair. And I hope someone told that girl (I forget her name) that with the special night cameras, we could totally see through her shirt last week at the theatre.

That RI house was seriously creepy!!!! Although, it was a beautiful home...

The whole taping of the closet door, twice!was freaky enough for me!
Very cool....very very cool.

I was a bit disappointed with the little boy episode, but his mom was aggravating. When she kept questioning Grant and Jason at the revealing. "But what about this?" and "What about that?" Oh Man! Come on......I think that this was someone who really wanted her child to be getting harassed by a ghost.
Oh, and at the beginning of the episode when that man-relative (the boys uncle?) said he thought that it was a dead relative wanting to "know" this boy. Yeah, right!

Any other thoughts?

Katyanne

It was a great episode last night! I agree, seeing that door close was so freaky! First I wouldn't live in a house that old to begin with and If I'd seen that happen in my bedroom I'd honestly be moving very shortly after that ;)

Yeah, that first house the Mom did seem to be disapointed with their findings but the one thing I like about TAPS is if their research and their findings tell them one thing they're not going to make something up just to make the homeowner feel better.

Katie
I'm so addicted to this show!

I just started getting into this show a few weeks ago and love it. The footage on the house in RI last night sent chills up my spine, and it was so freaky to not only see the door open and close twice, but also see the de-bunking of it fail. I wouldn't live in a house like that either, especially if I felt something grab my arm!

That's what I like about them too. They don't just go in to places with their "feelings", but do actual research and try and disprove a lot of the goings on.

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone watched this this week. I was watching right along and then I was out of the house when they revealed the findings for the first place. Did they end up catching anything?

As for the ship, I think that's really really sucky that someone tampered with the camera and tried to trick TAPS. Part of me really wonders if it wasn't the really skinny woman that was there. I got a kick out of when they walked into the room and the hot water heater went on and she said "He's making it turn on and off for us.":p Just made it sound to me as if they were trying too hard to make the ship look haunted. Glad TAPS put the kabosh on it though.

Hey Happy1! I watched the show, but for the life of me can't remember the first part....oh, the Winchester Mansion?!

If that is what you are talking about, then let's see...

I remember it being an odd house/mansion and they all felt that way about it. I don't think they found anything, thought.

Maybe someone else can jump in here (I must not have been paying much attention)!

Katyanne
10-08-2005, 11:18 AM
They really didn't find anything at the Mansion, but they all agreed because of the history and what-not there had to be some sort of energy there. But of course they wouldn't confirm or deny a haunting.

I'm so addicted to this show, I can't wait to see next weeks episode!

I agree, and also thought that it might have been that woman. Such a bummer because when I first saw the footage I got really excited...oh well. :(

This week's show was pretty good with the clanging going on above them at that penitentiary, but I was really surprised that nothing happened at the Lizzie Borden house.

I'm curious to know why when they go to the reveals with no EVPs (which personally creep me out) or pictures, etc. that they tell people they have no footage, only personal experiences. Isn't the footage we saw, um...footage? For instance why didn't they show the people at the penitentiary the stuff the camera person filmed for the show? Also, has anyone ever seen an actual spirit be revealed (aside from the dark blob at another penitentiary they visited, which to me almost looked like it was someone dressed in a dark sheet)? Just wondering.

Happy1
10-17-2005, 09:04 AM
I think they don't show the personal experiences that was filmed because there is no concrete evidence that it was actually caused by a ghost. Like where they swear they feel something on their back but there's nothing really there. They're really big on concrete evidence so that's probably why.

So far I don't believe there has ever been an actual spirit that showed itself yet while TAPS has been on site.

Hey, y'all.....tonight is the SEASON FINALE!
Yikes, that was one short season! SciFi Channel is airing all Ghost Hunter episodes today leading up to the last show of the season....since I am currently in between jobs I have been spending far too much time sitting in front of the television today, but the cat seems to be happy about this!

Ahhh, okay, that makes sense.

Last night's show was really good, and I got soooooooo creeped out by that figure that showed up on that heat reading device. Funny how right after asking the question, I got to see a show where they saw an apparition. :)

For some reason everytime I see the footage from Eastern State Pen, it always just looks like a person covered in a black sheet to me. I know they tried to re-create it, but it still doesn't look believable. Anyone else think that?

Although it was creepy, I liked the episode where they got all of those EVP's in that woman's house of the little girl(the one I mentioned a couple of posts up), because it's just so weird! I also liked the ep. where they heard those really clear, pretty loud, footsteps on some stairs going up to an attic, and the one where they got that thermal outline of what looked like a soldier.

Can't wait for the new season! :)

I'm really into this show too! I just love Jason and Grant. The full-body thermal image they caught in the basement of that old cancer hospital was nothing short of amazing. I also love the fact that they don't always find something in each episode. It really adds to their credibility, unlike Most Haunted and other similar shows.

I'm one of those people who is fascinated by the idea of ghosts and paranormal activity, but, as someone who considers herself religiously agnostic, I'm really not sure yet as to what I believe as far as what happens in the afterlife and that sort of thing. This show really plays on my curiosity by showing the evidence and experiences with a skeptical overtone. I also love history, so I especially love when they explore sites with historical significance.

Only two weeks to wait for the new season!

It really adds to their credibility, unlike Most Haunted and other similar shows.

So what did everyone think? That sanitorium was crazy! Especially the "body chute"...Gross! I can't believe approximately 63,000 people died there. That's incredible.

Yet again, they caught the most compelling evidence with the thermal imaging camera. I wish we could have gotten a clearer look at what that was running across the hallway. My first thought was that it must have been an animal too until they verified that it would have to be approximately 3 feet tall.

ITA! It was a crazy place.....so unbelievably HUGE and daunting, just driving up to it!

I was glad that they spent a few minutes with Donna showing how she does some research; that was great to see, not just the guys running around with their "toys".

Other than that, I just really don't like Brian! And am so disappointed to see him back on the team. There is just something about his mannerisms that really irk me!

Around here, there is a well-known mansion that is being restored. There is a psychic who conducts ghost tours of the place on spring/summer weekends! It's $50 and you get pizza and are there until about 4-5am! They get a lot of orb pictures and even some pictures of mist and have even taken one or two of faces/bodies! And they did an EVP and caught a voice/scream!

I haven't done the tour. I wanted to a few years ago, but what kept me from doing it was there was NO BATHROOM!!! And if you needed to go during the night (and I'd have to go at least ONCE, if not twice), they would drive you down the the road to the Domino's Pizza to go! Since then, they do have porta potties.

Which store is it? I've probably been in it before! ;) It's between Trinway and Dresden, right in the middle. I've been driving past it for years. And the first time I saw it was around 1990. I was intrigued with it!

Okay...I finally watched the first episode where they went to the hospital in Waverly, Kentucky. Jason mentioned something about "shadow people" and that intrigued me. I did a google search and I found some things from it.

From: http://members.aol.com/khalloween/shadowpeople/shadowpeople.htm

Shadow People, also known as Shadow Folk, are usually attracted to one person or location for unknown reasons. Often they are seen as dark silhouettes of human-shape, generally male, that prefer to watch someone unseen and flee the moment they are noticed. Still this doesn't always fit the experience. While some people distinctly see a male shape without details, others have described them from shapeless wispy black blobs to swirling columns of dark smoke. Some have odors associated with them while most don't. Their personalities range wildly from shy and skittish to downright nasty, with a few of the living describing them as the ultimate essence of pure evil. One segment of sighters claim shadow people are a type of post human ghost while another camp of folks swear they are strictly elemental. In any case, the only common denominator seems to be is that they are 'dark.'

Here's another story from: http://paranormal.about.com/library/weekly/aa030402a.htm

Shadow Man on the Road
I've always been very observant and I notice everything around me in detail. When I was 13, I was riding home from the supermarket with my older brother. All of a sudden, a dark figure dove under the car. It happened very quickly, but I saw it straight on. It was definitely in the shape of a man and it seemed to appear out of nowhere. I said to my brother, "I just saw a... a... a shadow man." Of course, my brother made a joke of it. I went along with it, but it was more than a joke to me. I saw another shadow man that very night when I got out of bed to go to the bathroom. I know it was not my mind playing tricks. - Jason

When I read this one--I remembered what I saw one night! DH was driving home and I was riding in the passenger seat. All of a sudden, I saw a man run across the road in front of us! It wasn't close enough to hit (especially at the speed he moved!), but close enough to see him. I jerked, surprised. DH didn't see anything. Until I read this, I chalked it up to my imagination (though I've never thought I'd seen anything before or since then). After reading this, I believe it was a shadow person!

I finally watched all of the episodes so far. Yeah, looks like Brian is up to his old tricks again--saying he SAW the mouse when he didn't. Then...I got to thinking...my own DH does this! When it comes to important things, he bluffs about them--but he's SO SURE about them. After so many years, I can tell he's bluffing.

Just yesterday, I asked him where to send the taxes. "Internal Revenue Service, Cincinnati, Ohio". Today, I checked, and it was to a PO box in St. Louis, Missouri. That's quite a bit different from Cincinnati! But, he was SO SURE of himself.

Information from: The Day, http://www.theday.com, as seen on the News Page of Peoplepc.com:

Researchers Probe Ghost Sightings on Ship

Sunday, April 23, 2006
MYSTIC, Conn. - Specialists in paranormal research are investigating whether a historic whaling ship might be home to the ghost of a long-ago seafarer.

A five-member team from the Rhode Island Paranormal Research group visited Mystic Seaport on Friday night to spend time on the Charles W. Morgan, a wooden whaling ship where several visitors have reported seeing the apparition.

The 165-year-old craft made 37 ocean voyages in search of whales during the 60 years it was in use. About 1,000 men worked on the Morgan over those decades.

The ship, due for a $3.5 million restoration next year, one of the main attractions at the Mystic Seaport maritime museum.

The Rhode Island Paranormal Research Group became interested in the Morgan after receiving reports from three different groups of people about the apparition.

The visitors said that while touring the ship last summer, they saw a man in what appeared to be 19th-century clothing working below deck. They said the man, who had a pipe in his mouth, nodded at them but did not speak.

When they went returned to the main deck and asked a museum interpreter what the man was doing, they were told that no one was down below and that no one was assigned to be on the boat that day.

"I automatically questioned it, but they insisted they saw something down there," Andrew Laird, founder of the paranormal research group, told The Day of New London.

He said that when he asked the three groups for more details, they responded with the same accounts. The three groups were from Massachusetts, Arizona and New York and did not know each other.

They visited within a week's time of each other.

"The fact that we had three reports that were the same made everyone's eyebrows go up," Laird said.

He said that he also received about 40 other reports of possible paranormal activity before those groups related their experiences.

Museum officials gave the group permission to conduct the investigation.

"We're interested in what they find out," said museum publicist Mike O'Farrell, who attended Friday night's investigation. "It's not so much we believe in ghosts and spirits, but it's a chance to do something fun."

Laird and the other investigators said their few hours on the ship convinced them that there was enough evidence of paranormal activity in certain areas to warrant a return visit with more sophisticated equipment.

Renee Blais, who described herself as a "sensitive" who uses touch and smell to connect with a place's energy, said she felt the presence of a seaman named Gerald.

She also described a sense of "sickness, death and despair" among about 15 men as they rode out a large storm in their cramped sleeping quarters.

Some museum employees might not be surprised by the speculation that the whaling ship is haunted. Dawn Johnson, a longtime museum interpreter who used to be assigned to the Morgan, said she used to hate to go down below and close up for the night.

"It was creepy down there at night," she said. "It's cold and clammy. You hear moans and creaking, and you wonder what it is."

Laird said that 90 percent of the time, his group finds a natural explanation for what people are experiencing, whether it's an animal making noise, something structural in the house or a hoax.

"We mainly go in to investigate. We're not saying a place is haunted. We go in with an open mind," he said.

The group also recently investigated reports at Ledge Light in New London Harbor, and believes the brick lighthouse is haunted by a woman and group of children. They plan to return there on June 3.

Oops.....just noticed the name of the research group is named as THE Rhode Island Paranormal Research Group, not A RI Paranormal Research Group.
My mistake...but still interesting! I wonder if TAPS has been on this ship yet?

sdianems - I heard Steve has his own ghost hunting group, so maybe it's his group mentioned in that article?

Did anyone watch last night? They were at the St. Augustine lighthouse. That episode blew me away! DH too! The voices...the shadows they caught on film...wow! It gave me chills! Especially that last clip where the "shadow" looked over the lighthouse staircase railing at them, then zoomed 10 times faster than a human could have run to the top of the staircase, then looked down at the camera again before competely vanishing. That was CRAZY!

We are fortunate enough to live about 90 minutes south of St. Augustine, and have been planning on taking a short trip up there sometime soon. After last night, DH wants to go as soon as possible. He wants to see that lighthouse in person. If we go, I promise to take loads of pictures!

We used to do EVP...for some reason it's much easier to decipher an audio clip when you're watching it play on the computer...you know when they've got that line with the static and that line moving across it pc program, you can see where the voice is going to say something so it's easier to hear it then anticipating when you're going to hear the voice.

I went to St. Augustine for a day trip last Saturday. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the lighthouse (the one they investigated a few episodes ago), we only had time to look at it from the outside. DH snapped this rather unremarkable shot of it:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/heatherandtadd/St%20Augustine/aaaP5270181.jpg

But just above the treeline you can see the window that Grant kept slamming shut to try to debunk the bucket noise.

I was so disappointed we didn't get to go in, but DH was enamoured by the city of St. Augustine and says next time we go, we'll stay for a whole weekend, or at least overnight, so we can take a ghost tour and check out the lighthouse. Our anniversary is in July, so maybe then? We'll see.

Oh, we drove by the jail too (from the following episode - they didn't find any evidence in it). Didn't get to stop though.

I wonder if they'd consider coming BACK to Ohio and checking out The Ridges at Ohio University! It used to be a large insane asylum. My DH felt VERY uneasy and creeped out when he had to go there for something and he didn't even know it was supposed to be haunted! It is creepy looking even in the day time--it's been well-kept up and it's offices now, but you can tell it has some history. She got to party with Grant all week long!! I’m so jealous, she didn’t even know who is was until he invited them all over to watch the finale of the show. Wow, Liz! That's awesome for your friend, even if she didn't fully appreciate hanging out with Grant because she didn't know who he was. I'm jealous! My coworker and her husband took a trip up to New England a few weeks ago. They stayed a few days in Boston, and then drove down to New Jersey to visit her DH's family. They were going to make a detour to Warwick, RI to see the TAPS office, but they ended up driving through the night to get to NJ, so they drove by that area around 2AM and didn't bother to stop. I was so bummed! She was going to try to get me autographs!

So a question to everyone... Being originally from the North Shore area of Massachusetts, I have a TON of places I'd love TAPS to investigate. There are a ton of supposedly haunted locations all over New England, and all across the U.S. for that matter. Where do you think they should go next season?

Mine:
- Joshua Ward House in Salem, MA. This is my #1 place I wish they'd go. Especially since Salem isn't all that far from Warwick.
- Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA.
- The Old Salem Jail complex.
- The House of the Seven Gables in Salem, MA.
- The Spanish Military Hospital in St. Augustine, FL.
- Elijah Hand building in downtown Orlando, FL.
- Loretta Lynn's Hurricane Mills Ranch in TN (saw a special on this on Travel Channel yesterday)
- Gallows Hill in Salem, MA.

The reason why the Joshua Ward house is #1 on my list is because, while on a ghost tour in Salem about a year ago, I was told the backstory on this house. The tour guide brought us right up the driveway, close to the backyard and up against the foundation of the house. Then she explained that Sherriff Corwin, the horribly evil man who was sherriff during the time of the Witchcraft Trials, is buried in the basement. After the Governor of Massachusetts put a stop to the Trials, and everyone came to their senses, Sherriff Corwin became a very hated man in the community. When he died, they buried him at the Old Burying Point at his family gravesite. Soon after, someone stole the body and held it for ransom. The Corwin family paid the ransom, but couldn't rebury his body because they feared the precedent had been set and it would just keep happening. So they buried him in the basement of what was then their family home. Hearing that sent chills up my spine, since we were literally right up against the foundation, and the tour guide was kind of banging lightly on the concrete for emphasis while she told us. His spirit is supposedly very malevalent. He gives people feelings of dread and has pushed people down the stairs before. Oh, and the guide said the Joshua Ward house was #4 on the top ten list of most haunted buildings in the U.S., right behind three others that TAPS has already investigated: The Winchester Mystery House, the Myrtles Plantation, and the Lizzie Borden House.

That was just crazy what happened in Jason's room at the hotel...the door closing on its own, and the glass cracking! I was really hoping though that they were going to show more on the noises that Jay said he heard coming from inside the closet, but oh well.

Not sure about the table moving on Grant though. It was just so weird how the tape just happened to need changing, and then the camera was just conveniently pointing at Grant's knee when it happened. Well Grant did say that people would dispute it. :p

Can't wait to see where they go next season!

Well, then, they should definately put this one their list!
I second the Salem Jail complex; I have worked there (for a film) and it is crazy creepy....

I second the Salem Jail complex; I have worked there (for a film) and it is crazy creepy....

Certainly is! That complex was used as the Essex County Prison all the way up until the 1990s. It didn't matter if you were charged with pickpocketing or grand theft or murder, every single convict went to that one jail. It never had electricity or plumbing. The prisoners sat in the dark and went to the bathroom in a bucket. It really was a miserable place. The only reason it was shut down in the 1990s is because the inmates sued the county for the horrible conditions and WON! So they built a brand new, state-of-the-art facility elsewhere, and ever since, the Old Salem Jail has sat vacant. My great-grandfather was actually incarcerated there back in the 1930s. The thought of him languishing in there gives me chills, even though he probably deserved it for his crimes.

It also doesn't help that the house behind the complex was evil Sherriff Corwin's office, and next to that is the old Phone Company building, which is on the site of the former Witch Dungeon, where they would keep convicted witches during the Hysteria. And on top of that, the jail is next to a graveyard. But it isn't just ANY graveyard, it used to just be a field, but in that field is where Giles Cory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giles_Cory)was pressed to death for refusing to enter a plea when he was charged with witchcraft. Soooo much bad stuff happened in that one tiny block. It's got to be just RIFE with activity! I know everytime I visit the area, I feel a heavy sense of dread. TAPS would have a field day there!

Can you tell I'm passionate about Salem? Three generations of my family have been born there, including me! :D
