Has anyone read Trading up by Candace Bushnell?

I was a total SATC addict and I'm really missing it so I thought I'd sit down and read some of her books. I picked up Trading up at costco cause it was cheap. um... did anyone else think it was incredibley sad?

No, I didn't think it was sad, so much as it was not as good as her other books.
I was disappointed when I read it.
What's sad is that I actually know people like Janey Wilcox
And "no", these women aren't friends of mine, but friends of of my friends.
I'd be afraid to be friends with the Janey's of the world.

I did really like Lipstick Jungle.
Now that was an entertaining book.

It was my first Candace Bushnell read, and I didn't think it was that great. Maybe I'll try Lipstick Jungle.

Yet to try Lipstick Jungle, the SATC books were interesting...and so different from the televsion show. I can see that maybe the book inspired the TV show but it was hard to see how you could say it was based on..maybe the characters names? I dunno.

Trading up was just so... I haven't been able to find a word for it yet. She was just so... unaware of how bad she made herself look sometimes and I think that's what made me think the book was sad.

I hated it too. It was the first book I'd read of hers and I was REALLY disappointed. It was so bad, I couldn't finish it.

I also hated it. I tried reading Four Blondes as well and it was equally bad. :(

I liked it. Janey did get on my nerves at times, but overall I thought it was entertaining.

I love SATC like my own child (I don't have a child, but you know what I mean) but I think that Candace Bushnell is one of the worst writers. Ever. I couldn't read her SATC book, and I tried to read 4 Blondes and had to put it down. That's 2 of maybe 4 or 5 books I've actually stopped reading. I always try to at least finish.

I bought it in the airport, and left it on the plane. Never again will I buy something by Candace Bushnell.
