Just a bit of help needed.
I will be painting our guest room this weekend. Right now the entire room is a medium/dark blue, including all the trim (window edging, closet doors, etc). There is one window (approx 7.5' long and 4' high) but it is divided in 2 to make it easier to hang blinds. There is a window sill and trim around the windows. The closet has a flat accordian door, there is no trim around the closet. There is no baseboard (took them out for carpet installation and never put back), crown molding or chair rail.
Here's my question. I have this bedding set:

Because of the colorful pattern, I plan on painting the walls a light tan color (like sand) - which is also the color of the star fish that you can hardly see, and the trim white (around the windows, baseboards, etc). I'm also going to paint all the furniture white - a dresser, nightstand and bookshelf.
For the closet doors: Should I paint those the sand color, or white? Should I paint a border around the closet? I have closet doors that look like shutters (louvered) in our shed that I might put in this room...it's more of a beachy feel.
For the windows: I'm going to paint the trim white, and install white mini-blinds. I'd like to get some basic window toppers. Should I get these in white, or some contrasting color from the bedding set?
The ceiling: What color should I paint the ceiling? The trim color, the wall color, or a mix in between?
I have white wall shelves and beach prints in white frames. All the other decor will be white/color (if that helps picture it any more).
Thanks for any help! As you can see, this is my first major decorating project and I can't figure out these colors. :)
