Anyone have any recommendations in the Pasadena/Deer Park/Clear Lake area? I'd prefer the doctor have privledges at Clear Lake Regional or Texas Children's or somewhere like that and not the Pasadena hospitals. TIA!

You do NOT want a doctor with priviledges at Clear Lake Regional. That place doesn't have the greatest reputation. Find a doctor that uses St. John's in Nassau Bay - that is a much better hospital!
sorry, no pediatrician recs...

What have you heard about CLR? I'm having my baby there and know lots of people who have and haven't had any problems.

I had my baby there and it's a fabulous hospital, the lactation consultant sucks big ass, but the nursing staff and docs were fantastic. They're the only hospital in the Clear Lake area with a level 2 NICU which is a nice thing to have if your baby comes early. If you deliver early at St. John's they transfer the baby downtown to St. Joseph's and you have to stay at St. John's until you're released. I definitely would not want to be without my baby after it was born.
My pediatrician is Molly Hammond at Bay Area Pediatrics on El Camino Real. I like her a lot and have spoken with 2 or 3 other docs there and I like them too.

Maybe their pediatric/obgyn area is okay then, because I hear some pretty bad stories about people going to the ER there. Maybe the ER is the problem? I have a family member who is in a medical profession, and she refuses to go to that hospital because of stories she's heard. My husband's friend had a pretty bad story about their ER as well. My family will only go to St. John's. But, like I said, we've never used the pediatric/obgyn department, so maybe that's an entirely different story.

Gotcha Disco! I was wondering if it was something like that.
I've also heard some scary ER stories about CLR.
Our pediatrician is Dr. Kalia at Nassau Bay Pediatrics. She has priveleges at St. John's for sure, I don't know about CLR.
the number is 281-335-3233, there are 4 doctors in the practice. I've seen all but one of them at least once and been happy, but Kalia is my favorite.
