I thought it would be fun to share the things our babies (or toddlers, or kids) do that fascinate us. I am sure I am not the only mother who looks at some of the things my 5-month old does as if he's the smartest kid on the planet!

Recently, my DS discovered mirrors! I love to watch him looking at himself in a mirror. He sort of flirts with himself, and the whole mirror concept seems to puzzle him. I love it!

I have a couple of things that crack me up ;) When DD got mobile she discovered shoes. As in, look at those shoes sitting over there, let me go get them and PUT THEM IN MY MOUTH. Obviously that's yuck so we started putting shoes behind closed doors. However, she still remembers our horror at her sticking shoes in her mouth so if she sees some, she 'growls' as she walks over to them...almost like a wicked little warning that she's about to do something she's not supposed to. So when I hear my baby growling (for lack of a better term) I know to run and find her because she's probably about to pick up someone's dirty shoe.

She's also discovered which buttons turn the tv, cable box, and dvd player on and off. And that little finger will push it on/off/on/off forever if you don't put a stop to it. So what does she do now? Either right before or right after she attacks one of the buttons, 2 little hands point their fingers at us and 'shake' (as in 'no-no'). So she KNOWS we're going to tell her no, but it's obviously still too fun of a game.

In a couple of years I might not think it's so cute but for now I could just squeeze her when she does that ;)

Too cute! :)

My ds gives a little cough when he's ready to eat! As in, "cough..cough...AHEM! I'm ready to eat!"

I love the way she can be so intensely focused on something: tying to sit up, exploring a stuffed animal, looking at daddy while he's making silly faces...

quest...my daughter "growls" too!!! she's also is teething and getting her cuspids (or "fangs") first. I swear, the horns are next :p

I have one from this morning: Becca was sitting in her bouncy (with an arch full of toys above her) and began to move the ball on the arch around with her foot. Too cute! It's fascinating to me that they can bend their bodies so much; sometimes she seems bent in half! :)

Also, she's taken to sleeping on her side the last few nights, which is so cute to watch - and fascinating that she's figured it out. Maybe she's taking after Mommy, who always sleeps on her side.

Gotta go - Sesame Street is over!
