:( :( :(
My dog has been missing since Monday 6/27. I think someone actually took him. We have put up colored fliers with pictures, we have given the Police Depatments and the animal control our info, we have called and given fliers to 35 different dog kennels and I put an ad in 2 of our local newspapers.
I never thought this would happen. I can't imagine my life without my dog. He is the sweetest most lovable dog.
Any advice or suggestions? :(

I'm so sorry! How sad!
You might also want to check the ads on craigslist and the newspapers to see if someone has posted that they find him.
Good luck!

I'm really sorry you are dealing with this. It boggles the mind how someone could snatch a dog, if that is the case.
I would go down IN PERSON on a daily basis if you can and check the shelters. They are so overwhelmed a lot of the times that they might not call you or even get a chance to check for your description. Several people I know have done that, called the shelters and not heard back, and boom, the dog is there.

No suggestions; just sending my best and hoping you find him soon. Keep us posted.
I'm so sorry! One other option is to buy an advertisement on a local radio station. I know it sounds crazy, but it actually worked for my family. They had spots where you could advertise a charity car wash, etc etc and so my parents, after about 5 days, tried it. It so happened that a woman my dad worked with (he worked at a school so unless she worked in his dept she wouldn't have known) found her and was fostering her and heard it on the radio on her drive home. She immediately called my dad and our dog was returned to us.

Thanks for the support. I never realized how hard this would be. I mean, I have been on the verge of tears since he went missing. I am going through alot of the same emotions from when my dad died (just in March). I just don't want to be without my dog. And my poor husband.....he is just heart broken.
One other option is to buy an advertisement on a local radio station.
My DH actually called one of the local radio stations and had them advertise. I don't know how long it runs for though.
Oh no! Did he go missing from your yard? I'm so sorry, I hope he turns up soon.

I agree with whoever said to keep checking the shelters personally.
You must be worried sick! Was he taken out of your yard?
ETA: have you offered a reward? $$$ could bring someone forward. Is your dog microchipped?
You might also want to post signs in local vet offices. I agree with everyone who said go personally check the shelters often.

Someone once mentioned to me to put on the missing flyers something to the extent of..."has chronic illness - needs medication". That way if someone took him they would want to give him up because they would not want to deal with the illness. I wish you luck.

You are in my thoughts, I would be a basket case.
I was so hoping in checking back in this thread there would be a positive update.
The thing about needing medication is a good one. You also migh want to run an ad in some local papers offering a reward.
I hope your dog comes home soon. This is heartbreaking.
