Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistresses for this thread are Polkadot and Sabriel!
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.
Previous Thread... (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=9655)
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

Thanks polkadot! I am really sorry that AF showed and you had a migraine. I absolutely hate it when I get migraines. Maybe TTA for a month along with a little vacation is just what you need. I said this in your journal, but you guys have been through a lot lately. Cut yourself some slack! ;) I know it has been tough for you. We are here for you!!
Congrats ellebelle! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!:D
Good luck with testing Michelle! It really is a little early, so give it a few more days.
4dpo here...and as much as I am trying to avoid them, the FPS have shown up. Or rather, I have started imagining them. :p Sore BBs and fatigue - I stayed in bed until noon today, which is unheard of and my left boob hurts so bad that I took my bra off! :o This is so ridiculous! I told myself I wasn't going to over-analyze during the 2ww and here I am doing it. When will I learn?!?

polkadot I'm really sorry that AF came for you :( Its no fair. I agree with UTChick about the break. Some of my most favorite cycles were forced TTA. You totally don't obsess and it is kinda freeing.

Welcome MrsM!
polkadot sorry to hear AF showed.. but like others said maybe a break will turn out to be a good thing and have a great time in Vegas!!
Sorry for the BFN's... but it's not over yet!
Nothing new here... my temp went up today but at this point I'm not putting any stock in it. Just plugging along until AF decides to show up sometime. Went to grandma's 80th bday party today and had at least 3 relatives ask when we were gonna start trying... I just said we were working on it. All of our immediate relatives knew already so no big surprise.
Well have a great night everyone!
Threadmistress: I just realized DH's age is still 28 on the member list... he is now 29. Thanks!

I have some OPK's from a bulk website that I'd be willing to part with for a small fee. I think (I will verify if anyone is interested) that I have 20 tests that were $.55 each from www.accuratepregnancytests.com. The instructions for use are on their website. I have never used these since I found out I was pg just a couple days before they arrived. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks for the new thread!
Just checking in. A PG friend convinced me to take a FRER tonight. She had some left from before she was PG, so I figured why not. Another BFN, but I didn't expect a BFP on the same day I got a BFN, regardless of test brand. She sent me home with a couple more, so I am stocked!
The good news is that AF didn't show up today!! CD30 was the day I started spotting last cycle and today... nothing! I only checked about a million times. I kept feeling a little "wet" as if AF had come, but no color to it at all.
I can't wait to wake up in the morning and temp!:)

Can I ask a quick question does BD change yoru CM (mask it I mean, I can't find my copy of TCOYF). We have been activly TTC the last 3 days and I was having nice watery, almost EWCM and then yesterday afternoon it seemed to try up a lot (sorry if this is TMI). I thought I was going to O in the next day or so but know I do not know.
I have O late in my cycle before (I am on CD 14 already) but just curious.
Thanks.

Congrats to the BFP that I missed in the last thread.
I'm at the boring part of my cycle - CD 10. I had a little bit of EWCM so we took advantage of that, but I'll be interested to see if stays that way - I'm not expecting an O for another few days yet...
Sabriel
11-07-2005, 05:44 AM
almostthere Yes, semen can look like EWCM. There is a water test you can do to determine which it is. I can never remember what it is though.
MichelleRenee Yay! Your chart is looking great!
ABirney I hope you O soon!
9 DPO and got another BFN today. I can't believe I am testing this early. Last time I held out to 12 DPO. I think it's those stupid Dollar Tree tests! They are too darn cheap!

I did not start charting tell mid cycle because I wanted to get in the swing of things for the next cycle, but I am at cd38 got spotting on cd31 which was not my normal pre AF spotting so I tested Saturday and got BFN. On my FF chart some of the dates are a green color just the numbers not the whole square what does this mean?

Lindybubbles- yes...i would say that is confusing...do you have FF VIP, if you do you could post something in the VIP thread and maybe they could give you some idea of what is going on...sending you O vibes :D
Cowgirl- Welcome...i hope your stay is Short & Sweet!!!
ajlanden- Yay for TTC i hope your stay is also Short and Sweet!
Aletheia- yes, you would have thought i had enough baby dust from around here..but i guess it will happen when the time is right..thanks for thiking of me...
Sabriel- you little sneak...testign so early....i hear ya about the $store test its impossible not to test early with them b/c they are so inexpensive...i am not gonna buy anymore of those b/c i tend to test early with them....good luck i hope you get your BFP very soon....
almostthere- there is a test you do with the confusing Cm....take a bit of it and put it in a glass of water...if it sinks...its CM if it diappears its semen...it is somewhere in TCPYF but i am at work and cant look it up for you...hope that helps

TTC situation:
It has offically been 6 months and no pitter patter of little feet in our future...so...here is our course of action...
For the month of Nov. i am taking a mini vaca from charting/temping and all the CM stuff....we are just gonna see what happens...it will be really hard with me possible changing jobs and with the holidays coming up and if i did get PG this month i would deliver around the beginning of nect school year and thats a stress in itself.....so...that said, in December we will start up again but i am going to make an appt with dr to talk about maybe at least doing bloodwork. I think she will be open to this once i explain my situation...If anyone had been here from the beginning and read the first page of my journal they would know that my biggest fear i life is not being able to have children. So that being said Brian and i talked this weekend and he seems to think it will just take a while longer than normal and that it will happen I am glad he has that attitude but i just really feel deep down that there is something wrong...i cant explain why i feel that way but i do...i told him that and of course he freaks abouth what he'll have to do if we got the route of doing testing and such...i told him that the most he would have to do was probably SA and that put him at ease b/c lets just say he has had a lot of practice in that uhhh ummm area ;) I explained all the test i would have to have...i know this is jumping the gun...i just feel deep down that there is something wrong...so i will keep everyone posted but as of right now...we are taking a break from baby business...this is gonna be the longest month of my life...but we will make it through...
once again thanks to all of you ya'll have been SO supportive and i couldnt have asked for better CC friends!!!

Linny ~ You're only on CD18. I wouldn't worry about not Oing just yet. My "normal" O date (if you can call it that) has been around CD19-20, so you may just be Oing a little later than the norm. :)
polkadot ~ I'm glad you and DH have talked it out and decided on a plan of action. I'm sure this next month will be hard for you, but hopefully you can relax on your vacation. As for DH complaining about the tests he would have to take...isn't that just like a man? ;) Forget about all the crap that YOU may have to endure, it's all about him, right? :p My DH just went for an annual physical and I guess they pricked his finger (for blood) for some test. He was whining about them taking his blood and I reminded him that I have had my blood drawn twice in the past week, a whole vile each time with a big needle stuck in my arm, and that I did NOT want to hear anything more from him! LOL!

polkadot - I am so sorry about how you are feeling. Not being able to have kids is a huge fear of mine. Ever since I have been FOUR I have had dreams (more like nightmares) where a child came into my life, first as a brother or sister, and then as my own child, but the child was like three. So I've always had fears that I wouldn't be able to have kids and I would end up adopting, which wouldn't be the end of the world, but I SO badly want an infant. But I need to stop stressing about it. My friend didn't get pg for 10 months and then it took 1 month for #2. I know that isn't much comfort. Sometimes I wish we could make our DHs take a SA before we even get started!
linnybubbles - I don't think I ovulated the first 2 months, but last month I am sure I did but it wasn't until Day 23, so don't worry about it only be CD18. You definitely still could! If you go through this cycle and you don't think you did, maybe add OPKs to the mix next month.

Linnybubbles, it doesn't look like you O'ed yet but there is still time. If it will make you feel better you can search on FF for PG charts that O'ed after a certain date. (I did that for after CD22 and it made me feel much better!)
polkadot, you are in my thoughts this month! I really hope it happens for you. You deserve it! Stay positive!
Good luck to everyone! I am testing no earlier than Thursday and no one can convince to me to do otherwise!!:p

Also, I have a [b]question[b] about Fertility Friend...
Is it worth it to upgrade your membership to VIP or are people happy with the basic, free service????? Mine runs out in 2 weeks and I need to make a decision before then.
THANKS!!!
MichelleRenee
11-07-2005, 06:46 PM
For the price ($16.95-90 days) I think it was totally worth it to go VIP. You don't realize how much VIP info you use until it is gone. And if you get PG before your time is up to automatically get transferred to the PG website so you don't lose your money.
I wanted to post a funny FPS from today before I forget. Mostly, it was embarassing! I was in class. I had eaten breakfast, but by the time I got to school I was starving! So I ate again. Then I was starving again but I didn't want to leave in the middle of class. Suddenly, my stomach gurgled SO loud and long! It sounded so gross, like I was pooping my pants or something! The whole class turned and looked at me!:o  :o
It might not even be a symptom of pregnancy, but it's never happened to me before and it totally caught me off guard!

Being hungry was a sure sign for me and gassiness....... I was also dead tired, sore BBs and a little nauseated.
When are you testing again Michelle?
Thanks for your input! I think I may do it... Do others feel they use the VIP information? I haven't used FF long enough to know the difference.

neen- i really like the VIP membership b/c if i ever have a confusing situation that someone over here cant figure out for me...i can always post somethign over there and it has worked so far....also i like being able to use their boards too...although they can be a little weird with all their blinkies and such....i thihnk its worth it for the analyzers you get too...i cant remember them all though...good luck making a decision:D

Temp went up again today! (slightly, but up is up!)
I was very tempted to test this morning but I'd rather wait until tomorrow at the earliest. If I had some dollar store tests left I would go ahead and test, but I am all out.:(
First...dropping off some ~*~*~*~BABY DUST~*~*~*~ for the lovely charting ladies.
Sending some {{{HUGS}}} to polkadot. Good luck with this next, relaxing cycle. I'm thinking of you.
Sabriel--WOW on that jump today. I say hide the $ Tree tests for another day or 2...I think you may have implanted on 8DPO...:D
MichelleRenee--My vote on your chart...CD22 O, I dip on what shows as 14 DPO on your chart (which would be 8 DPO with the moved O date)...you DEFINITLELY woudln't have gotten BFPs on the tests you took. Your chart is looking triphasic with today's temp...so I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing your results when you POAS on Thursday. And FWIW, I had a gurgly stomach midweek last week! :D
Okay, I can't keep up...I admit it...so SORRY to those of you I missed. Hoping to see a bunch more of you in the July Mommies thread!

Good luck Michelle - your chart is looking amazing!! hang tight until Thursday - hoping for a bfp for you!
Well, I have my HSG on Thursday - so crossing my fingers that all is well.
I got my perscription for Clomid - just need to wait until next cycle to start (as I didn't get my blood work back until it was already after af already started)
Better get on with work - Good luck to the testers!!

MichelleRenee-Oh, I am excited for you!!! I can't wait to check in tomorrow!!!
Not much going on....just waiting for AF to go away! Here is a question...anyone wake up to temp, think they turn on the thermometer and accidentially hit the button twice? I do this all the time and wait in the dark for it to be done, when it isn't even on. Ah, this happened this moring. Luckily, it doesn't really matter at this point!
Good luck testers!

ajlanden- I know what you mean about the thermometer. For the past 2 months I was using a digital that comes back in about 10 seconds. This month I switched to a BBT thermometer that takes forever to come back and I am always wondering if it is actually on because it takes forever. Drives me crazy because I have to be awake for longer than I like and I think I wake myself up more than necessary just wondering if it is ever going to beep!
Temps were all crazy this morning because I was up way too late last night going to see the Colts crush my poor Patriots, so deyhdration, a wee bit of alcohol and exhaustion set me skyrocketing.
I have a weird question to ask - Has anyone used the Fertility Monitor and had to bring it on a plane? We aren't checking our bags tomorrow and I keep having visions of the aiport security people asking me to take it out to show them!
dlj78
11-08-2005, 09:22 AM
Jesseybell I took my monitor on the plane about a little over a month ago and they didn't even ask me about it. I was kinda nervous because I was traveling with my boss and I would have been so embarrassed if they asked to see it :p Good luck!

I just got back from the dr and my test results confirm that I have Autoimmune thyroid disorder (hypothyroidism). I'm kind of bummed, but at least it is treatable and hopefully is the only thing causing my weird cycles. We're supposed to back off from TTC for a month or so until my hormone levels come up a bit. However, there is still a possibility that something else *could* be wrong, and we won't know anything more until my thyroid levels get straightened out. If we get to that point I will have to see a specialist, but I'm hoping it won't come to that.
Threadmistress, please move me to Temporarily TTA, and add Autoimmune Thyroid Disorder to my known issues. Also, could you please remove my name and DH's name from my stats? Thanks!
ETA ~ I may not be posting as much for awhile, but I will still be lurking. Best of luck to everyone testing this week!

my middle sister called tonight to tell me that my youngest sister who got **knocked up** (at 19 w/ a guy whom she had a one night stand with and later married) is trying to have another baby. She then says that my sister said that she knows i dont want her to have another baby b/c i want to have one first...well news flash...she already has two year old...and if there was a race which i was unaware of she already won. SHe is so immature...UGHH i hate ignorant people...especially when they are related to me...

cat_loverpq I am sorry that you are dealing with thyroid issues. I am hypothyroid too. I hope you are able to get things under control soon.
jesseybell Go Colts! ;)
ajlanden I do that with my thermometer too. I am usually still asleep and it takes me a minute to figure out what is going on.
CTs_Punkin I hope that your HSG goes well and that you are super fertile afterwards!
mkvh I hope my temp stays up where it is! Don't worry, I used my last Dollar Tree test this morning. One thing I've learned...I should not keep HPTs in the house until it is time to test! :o
MichelleRenee Your chart looks great!
10 DPO today and a huge temp jump! I will try to wait another couple of days to test. I got my last BFP on 12 DPO. Even with the BFNs, testing doesn't seem to be stressing me out. It's actually kinda fun. I know it's still early, so I'm not losing hope yet. I think would rather get a BFN, then just have AF show up. I need to be able to prepare myself for that happening because of the miscarriage.
Hope everyone's having a great day!

Michelle~I agree that you should wait a few more days. I usually don't test until 12 or 13dpo because I hate seeing those BFNs. Temps are looking niiiice...;)
Sabriel~Nice temp spike this morning!!
CT~Good luck with the HSG on Thursday. Hopefully you will get pg this cycle and won't even need the Clomid!
Cat Lover~Sorry that you have to TTA for a month, but at least you got a diagnosis. I am one of those people who wants to know exactly what is going on. I would rather know what it is and have a plan of attack rather than not knowing at all. Hopefully those levels will straighten out soon so that you can get that BFP.
polkadot~Don't you like it when you are in competition with someone and don't even know it? ;) Aahhh...gotta love the family drama!
Gosh, I hope I didn't miss anyone. So sorry if I did. I am at 6dpo and had a slight temp dip today. It would be lovely if it were an implantation dip, but I won't get ahead of myself just yet. I went over to my parents' house last night and we got on the topic of TTC. My mom mentioned that she had lunch with a couple of friends on Friday and they both asked her if she was ever going to be a grandma. Her friends don't know we are TTC and my mom didn't use this as pressure on me, but rather as a funny coincidence that her friends are suddenly asking her about grandkids. I also talked to my dad about my appt. next Monday. My dad is a doctor and I generally run everything by him. He agreed that it was time to talk to my doctor and we explained the entire fertility treatment process to my mom. DH can't believe I talked so openly with my dad, of all people, about TTC, but when you grow up as a doctor's daughter, every health-related topic is fair game! :) Whoa! I didn't mean to write so much...just got on a roll there. Well, have a good evening everyone!

Not a problem MichelleRenee :D I know how completely agonizing this is for you. Your chart is looking very nice. Try to find something to take your mind off things the next couple of days. Trust me it'll be good practice. Like someone else said...the obsession doesn't stop with the BFP.

So, I went to Walmart today to buy some more puppy food for my friend's puppy that I am babysitting. I decided to pick up some more HPTs while I was there (of course). I was standing in line to check out thinking about how embarassing it is to buy HPTs. I checked out, then walked out the first set of doors to leave and the alarm goes off! The lady standing at the door asked to see my bag and reciept. She took out the HPTs and said "pregnancy tests, that'll do it." She then walked all of the way to the farthest cash register to deactivate it. She passed a manager, held up the box and said again, "pregnancy tests, that'll do it!" Meanwhile everyone is watching me because the alarm was still going off. I was so embarassed. I'm sure I was bright red. Then she handed me back my stuff and said "Good luck with that" while I walked out the door! OMG, I can't believe that happened to me!

Michelle-Sorry for the pressure!!! If you are 10 DPO, there is no way I would have said test...now I am telling you to wait, how's that?

Sabriel - that is too funny... although yesterday I bought an HPT and some pads all in the same purchase.... My Dr. asked that I take the HPT "just in case" before my HSG tommorrow. But since I am having an HSG, need the pads for any leakage (Sorry if TMI)... so this poor guy at the register was looking at me like I was the oddest person in America! so I hear you... but would have definately turned many shades of read on that one.
Michelle Hang in there... it's still looks like it might be a little early...

Just checking in before we are off on vacation until Monday night. I am CD17. I didn't even both temping this morning. I was up way to early stressing about all the last minute things we had to do. This is the first time going away since we got our 2 additional furbabies in August. I am just excited to be able to fly for the first time as a Mrs.
Okay, I digress...I brought all my amo - thermometer, monitor, OPKs, even some Robitussin since my CM was somewhat laking last month. We'll see how much of it gets used. There will be a lot of late nights and drinking going on, so I doubt the thermometer will get used...doesn't matter as long as some BDing happens :) Last cycle I Oed on CD23, which will be Tuesday. Crossing my fingers - anything to get out of my HSG next cycle :)
MichelleRenee- I am hoping for a BFP from you when I get back :)
And good luck to everyone else who will be testing while I am gone.

You guys are all too sweet. I truly hope you are all right about me getting a BFP soon. Especially after last night. I only got maybe 4 hours of sleep because I was up with the most horrible gagging feeling. Then today I kept going back and forth between gagging and having a really dry mouth, to being starving and the stomach gurgling again.
AF is nowhere in sight. I have had cramping yesterday and today, but it is more like sharp pinching than AF cramps. My temo went down a tiny bit today, but is still high for me. I resisted the temptation to POAS this morning. Tomorrow is Thursday and 12DPO. If I can resist again I won't test because it still seems early, but I have enough $ Store tests that I can take the chance of a BFN. I would hate to see another BFN, but I am so anxious to see a BFP!
Thanks again, everyone, for the support. It means so much to me!

I am going to make an apt with dr. and bring my TCOYF book and copies of my charts and see what she says...she was the one who reccommended the book so maybe she will atleast do some blood work...what do yall think....i just wish i could have some RL support other than you guys....i love yall to death and couldnt do this with out all of you...but i really wanted someone to dicuss this with that would not just dismiss it as me being to anal and wanting to plan everything....ok this is too long....

UTCHick and ABirney I do that too! Yesterday, I put the box with the side that didn't say "pregnancy test" in huge letters up and tried to hide it between me and the puppy food! We are crazy. :p
ajlanden I think Walmart is trying to embarrass everyone who buys HPTs. The lady said that I was the 4th person that had happened to that day!
11 DPO today and another BFN this morning. The others have been fun, but today I was really upset by it. I don't want to do that again, so I will see if I can hold out a few more days. AF could show up as early as tomorrow. I freaked out today, because I had some brown spotting before I took a bath to relax after work. UGH, I'm still not getting email updates. I had it set on Daily, but have changed it to Instant - hopefully that will work.
Well, FF has screwed me up for this month. They originally had my fertile days as Sun-Wed. I tested Saturday morning at 3:30am and got a negative. I didn't bother testing the rest of the day. I tested Sunday morning at 7:30am and got a +OPK. We BD'd. I tested Monday morning at got a -OPK. Now, FF has me Oing on Saturday  and since we only BD'd Sunday morning, my chances of conception are "low". I'm so annoyed.

Sabriel- sorry about the BFN hopefully your temp will shoot back up tomorrow and todays drop will be implant....keeping all crossables crossed....

Sabriel & Tonysweetie -- I think Walmart needs to give their employees some sensitivity trainging! Don't these people know that we don't want comments when we're buying HPTs, and we certainly don't want them waved around at the exit?!?!
I've been bad about posting since re-joining this thread. I've only had time to lurk a little during the day to follow along. I'm 6 DPO, and have been feeling some cramps earlier this week. Usually I'll start cramping 1 week before AF, but never 2 weeks. So hoping that is a good sign. We'll see!

polkadot- Oftentimes, just knowing that you are doing all you can at any given moment about a problem/difficulty gives you just a bit more peace. It may be that the simple act of calling the doctor, going in to see him/her, even if it yields no new information right away, will still let you breathe easier. Because at least then you can rest assured that you are doing all you can! And the newness should give you a renewed sense of hope.
And good for you for realizing that these disembodied internet voices can only go so far as support- I hope you find some IRL support soon. I'm not even TTC yet, and I'm already starting to feel crazy!! ;)

Michelle I hate to be the bearer of this... but perhaps you are only at 10 or 11 DPO??? I sort of think you might have a slow rise on your hands, as you still had good CM for 2 days after your O date.... just a thought... your temps are looking fantastic, so I think you are definitely still in the game girl!!!
Other than that, not much here.... I've started getting good CM, and my HSG is scheduled for today... darn it... if I O tomorrow or the next day, I think I'll be pretty pissed, as I don't think you are supposed to BD for at least 3 days after an HSG??? Does anyone have additional info on this?
I guess I'll just have to wait and ask at the hospital today.
Sabriel

CTs_Punkin I hope your O holds off until you can BD again!
MichelleRenee Sorry about the BFN. You chart is still looking good!
mayham I hope this is it for you!
Ilovemygeek LOL, I worry about the same thing!
Tonysweetie Now I really know that Walmart is out to get us! I can't believe that this happened to 3 of us!
Applebee Sorry that FF screwed up for you. Here's hoping you still caught that egg!
12 DPO and BFN this morning. I am red spotting today. It is more constant, but still just spotting. I am having some mild cramping too. Not sure what to think. Maybe AF is on her way.

Applebee-Stupid FF! Don't give up...that egg can still meet the sperm!
Ilovemygeek-I hate buying HPT too. Dh says, "what is the deal, we are married and already have a baby? We aren't doing anything wrong!" I can't help it! I get so nervous!
mayham-I hope you have some great news in a week or so!
MichelleRenee-You are totally still in the game! Wait a couple more days! I agree with Cts_Pumpkin, your O date isn't really clear.
CTs_Punkin-Hold that eggie in!!!
CD4....blah...blah...blah... I don't remember this being so long and BORING!
ETA: Sabriel-How did I miss you? Just to let you know my luteal phase was a few days shorter than it normal is this month. I assume it is just after effects from the m/c. I really hope this is it for you though! NO AF!
Quick drive by....
{{{{hugs}}}} to Sabriel. I'm sure it was very hard to see another BFN and then spotting. Holding out hope for you.

ladies i have a question....
heres the dilema...we were going to take a break from **everything** this month and just see what happens...but i was thinking ...if i can get in to see the dr next month...wouldnt it be better for me to have 6 full months of charts to show her. What do ya'll think? Do yo think i have enough info with my last few charts or should i chart this month too? Let me know what ya'll think...it will probably be kinda screwy this month...b/c if the holidays and b/c we are going to Vegas and the time change will mess me up to....so what should i do?
thanks girlies!!!

Sabriel bummer about the spotting... hopefully it's not AF!
CTsPunkin Good luck at the Dr! Hold on to that egg for a few days too!
MichelleRenee Your chart looks soooo good! Hope you post that BFP right away on Sat so I can check in because we are moving that day and will have to unplug the computer that morning for a few days until we get it hooked up again..
polkadot don't know what to tell ya about charting on vacay.. in a way it will be good for the Dr to have complete charts but on the other hand, sometimes you just have to take a break. Sorry I'm not much help!
mayham hopefully that cramping is good!
I have a question too... if a cycle is annov, would you still get a temp dip before AF or would the hormones be too screwy to even show that? My temp went down to 96.7 today (CD67) but still no sign of spotting.. don't know if it means anything or if my body is just saying Ha Ha messin' with you again! I hope she shows soon so I can move on to a fresh cycle!

CTs_Punkin, Sabriel, ajlanden, mkvh, polkadot and ABirney, thank you all. I am still very hopeful. I wasn't really expecting a BFP because it still feels early to me, but when I saw my temp went up this morning I almost had a heart attack! It was almost as good as getting a BFP! I am trying not to get ahead of myself. You're all right... my O date isn't clear so there is no reason to be upset just yet!
I still have misxed feelings of tiredness, crampiness, nausea, hunger, and sore boobs. Every FPS I have could easily be casued by something else. I almost think I could say I *feel* pregnant, but who doesn't towards the end of their 2WW?
I know I said I would test Saturday but I'd like to try to wait until Sunday. We'll see if I can hold out!

Well the HSG went alright today... she showed me the scan, and I think it looks like they are all clear? She mentioned that they wanted a radiologist to review them??? No idea... She said that one side you could see it spilling out and they weren't sure about the other side... no idea what the hell that means??? Anyone out there translate?
She said that I should hear from my Dr by Tuesday...so just wait I guess.
The procedure was pretty painful, like a bad stomach ache...or really bad cramps, but it was only for about 5 minutes... then I was fine. Not too bad now, about an hour and a half after the procedure.
Thanks for everyone's well wishes, I'll let you all know the outcome once I know.
Thanks!

Thanks for everyone's good luck wishes. I really appreciate them. I'm just so sure AF will be coming next week. I swear today it felt like she was here, but nothing was in my undies. It was like I usually feel the day before she makes her ugly appearance. strange, but I'm not taking that as any type of sign, that's for sure.
Cts, glad to hear the HSG went ok. I've heard some horror stories on how painful that can be. Nice to know your's wasn't that bad. Hope the doc comes back with all good news.
Michelle, good luck holding out. I know how hard it is. I seem to never be able to test b/c AF shows up the day before or the day of my test date! URGH!!
Polkadot, I would think what you have is fine - but maybe someone who has given these to the doc already can comment. When I mentioned to my GYN in June that I had started temping, he just sort of groaned and said you can't much into that. I should have known then to see an RE! Oh well, you live and learn.
ajlanden, Sabriel - this is the first time FF has screwed me up. Why did it have to happen my last time before seeing an RE? To quote Earl "I must have messed with Karma"!!!
Take care girls!!

Applebee I hope AF stays away!
CTs_Punkin I'm glad that your HSG wasn't too bad. I hope the results turn out to be good news. Did you find out when you can BD again?
MichelleRenee I really hope that those are pg symptoms!
ABirney I have only had one annovulatory cycle, but I did not have temp drop. AF just decided to show up one day! I hope she comes soon for you!
polkadot IMHO, I think that charting this cycle will give your doctor more information. But, don't do it if it will stress you too much.
No AF yet! I am still spotting. I am having mild cramps and a little lower backache. I'm not sure what is going on. I have never spotting like this before AF before. But, my body may be screwed up from the m/c. I amm out of pg tests, so no testing tomorrow. We will just have to see what happens!

Sabriel, ajlanden, & ABirney thanks for the good wishes! It's great to have a place where you can talk about cramps and people will support you and not think you're crazy!
polkadot -- I agree w/ Sabriel, that it might be helpful to have another chart, especially the most recent. But I see your point, that your traveling might skew things. I was kind of in the same situation, where in September, I had to stop charting, but when I got a dr. appt. for Nov, I figured it would be good to start up in October so I could have something recent to show her. Good luck with whatever you decide!
MichelleRenee -- good luck holding out until Sunday. I totally know what you mean about "feeling pregnant". I could say that right now too, but ttc totally plays mind games with me, and I almost don't want to say it and jinx it. ack!
CTs_Punkin -- that's good you have the HSG behind you. I hope the outcome is good!
I expect AF next Saturday, but I'm going to test on Tue (CD12) since I have a gyn appointment that day. Totally hoping I'll have good news to share, but really what are the chances the timing would work out like that? In the meantime I'm going to try and stop thinking about it!

I feel like shit.:( For the 3rd night in a row I feel nauseous. I actually feel kinda flu-like. It is weird because it only affects me at night. My stomach is fine all day. (Actually, I am starving all day!) Then when night hits I feel queasy and kinda gaggy. I'm scared for a couple reasons right now.
If feeling this crappy means I am pregnant, I can only wonder how crappy I will feel as I get further along.
If I am not pregnant and I feel this crappy, WHY do I feel this crappy?
Just venting my frustration here. I went through something similar over the summer... 3 months of horrible nausea and heartburn from stress and acid reflux. I was in pain and nauseous every single night for 3 months. I lost 13 pounds, which is about 1/8 of my body weight. I have been better for a couple months and gained the weight back. I am so scared that I am not PG. As soon as AF arrives I won't be able to look at my symptoms optimistically anymore.
mayham, good luck to you! I hope you will have good news at your GYN appt!
Sabriel, yay for no AF! Hopefully she doesn't show up!
Applebee, I hope AF doesn't show up for you either! I will be praying for you!
CTs_Punkin, I'm glad the HSG went well. Sorry about the pain. Hopefully you will get good results and it will be worth it!
ABirney, I have no clue. I hope AF shows soon for you so you can move on to a new cycle. Good luck to you. I don't know what to make of your chart.... is it still possible you will O and get a BFP this cycle?

MichelleI am so sorry that you are feeling awful, I hope things get better for you soon! Just think, even if you are pg, the odds you feel like this the entire time are very small, it is usually the first trimester only. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I don't know why I torture myself like this. I removed the override just to see if FF was still saying I O'ed on CD16 and FF changed my O to CD30!! That made my timing horrible, so I switched it back just for my own peace of mind. Craziness.... I'll settle for CD24-25, but there is no way I O'ed after that. *sigh* this 2ww is turning into a 4ww!

Sabriel ~ I just had a similar situation last night regarding the pg tests. I went to a $ Tree where I knew they had OPK's, and just my luck the shelf was empty. But they had pg tests so I grabbed a couple (just to have around the house for when the time comes ;) ). I went up to the register where there were two women talking, hoping to ask if maybe they had any OPK's still in a shipping box somewhere. Then this guys yells at me "I can help you at this register." Apparently it was too much for the women to quit chatting. Anywho, so I figure I'll go ahead and ask him - after all, he was the one who wanted me to come to his register. So he rings up the pg tests and I asked about the OPK's. He turned around to one of the girls and said "Do we have any more of those...other things?" I just about cracked up! He was too embarrassed to even say the words "ovulation prediction kit". Hey buddy, I tried to check out with the woman but you called me over here! Luckily it was closing time and I was the only custmer in the store, so I just said it loud enough for the girl to hear me. And of course they didn't have any more. But I got a good laugh out of it!
UTChick, Sabriel, ABirney ~ Thanks for your thoughts and concern. I am happy to be on the "road to recovery" and hope that we will be back to TTC by January. :) I'm just glad there is a reason for my cycles being so screwed up!

Geez, I suck at this these days. Just a couple of things offhand:
Michelle, ITA with anyone who's mentioned that you're testing too early. :) I don't think you ovulated until much later than CD 16. Try to be patient. I know it's hard. It took me 7 months to conceive my DD and every single month that passed without a BFP was crushing. But ya know something? DD is so wonderful that I'm glad I had to wait to get her instead of some other kid. :)
Linny, either a) You haven't o'd yet, or b) You o'd on CD 20. You'll have to wait for a few more temps! Your CM leads me to believe that you've still yet to o, but again, you'll have to wait and see.
Jeant, congrats on your house!!
Applebee

linnybubbles I agree with Abby'sMom. It looks like yoy may have Oed, but you won't be able to tell until you get a few more temps.
So, I have no idea what is going on with me. I am 13 DPO and on my 3rd day spotting. It is really not even enough for a pad. I was bad and tested this afternoon  and got another BFN. I will try with FMU tomorrow if no AF by then. My longest LP ever was 14 days, but it is typically 11 or 12 days. I guess that just leaves me with more waiting. Hoohum.

Threadmistress, Please move me to waiting to O. AF showed up Thursday morning at work quite unexpectedly (and most unwelcome)! It took me a couple of days to feel okay about it and ready to post. We've only been trying for 3 months and I just feel like its never going to happen! I know so many of you have been trying much, much longer; so I feel bad complaining. It just sucks waiting. Every month I get my hopes up so much. I allow myself to start looking at baby stuff towards the end of the 2WW and that just kills me! I need to stop doing that. Anyway, on to cycle #4!
Michelle and Sabriel, sorry about the spotting and temp drops. :( I hope that there is still hope for both of you.
I was LOL about the pg tests setting off the buzzers at Walmart until it happened to me last night! The OPKs I bought set it off too. So my husband pulls them right out of the bag and says, "I think its these EPT things that are doing it!" Thanks honey! :o

Michelle~Ah, man! But...until AF shows up completely, I wouldn't count myself out.
ptcrn~Sorry that AF showed. Months 1-4 of TTC were really hard for me because while I didn't expect to get pg the first cycle, I didn't think it would take more than a couple. I was always looking at crib bedding, maternity clothes, diaper bags, etc. and then got seriously disappointed when I found out I wasn't pg. The last couple of months I have stopped doing those things. I am not lurking in the pg and parenting threads very much at all, and definitely not looking at baby stuff online. It has helped me a lot. I have also joined a gym and started working on losing these 15 lbs I want to lose. Before I figured I was just going to get pg anyway, so why bother. I guess now I am just trying to focus on other things as much as possible. For me, it is working. FWIW, I think that no matter how long you have been trying, it still hurts when you realize you are not pg. Don't feel bad for feeling bad.
Linnybubbles~Here's hoping that you did O and caught that egg!
I am 10dpo and this is the third day in a row of 98.1 temp. Weird. I know a lot of people have flat temps, but I never had. I checked my thermometer to make sure it wasn't the batteries and it seems to be fine. Who knows?!?

11-12-2005, 10:35 AM
Thanks for your reply, UTChick. It sounds like that's exactly what I need to do, throw myself into other things and just enjoy life. Joining the gym is something that I definitely should do, and I know it would make me feel better!
Take a look at my chart from last month, I had several days of the same temp too. I thought it was weird, and I'm still not sure why? But I kept testing my thermometer at other times of the day and it wasn't broken. Who knows? Good luck this cycle! I hope you get your BFP!

PTCERN I agree with UTchick - When DH & I started trying in Dec/January - I thought it wouldn't be a big deal - in a couple months, I be preggers and then we'd be the happy family of 3... well... it's now going on 12 months and still no BFP... by body decided to stop working when we moved to another state (I haven't O'd for 5 months), so here I am now, after having an entire battery of bloodwork done, my DH is getting an SA next week and I had an HSG on Thursday, and I'm starting Clomid in Dec.... so I would definitely recommend getting your mind focused on all the great things in your life, and hopefully you'll get that BFP very soon!!! I remember looking at all the pg threads, the nursery threads and the belly shots... I've stopped doing that, and I actually stopped coming in here for a while, because my body wasn't working... I had nothing to be excited about, there was no 2WW - and so I just needed to break off and just be around my LJ journal buddies - etc... So this is my VERY long winded way of saying... hang in there... use us for support and enjoy your life (Not suggesting you aren't now... so please don't take that statement the wrong way) But live it - because all things change so quickly and you can't get this moment back.
Sorry - stepping off my soapbox - not sure what got into me this morning... anyhow... wishing everyone a BFP very soon.
Have a great Saturday.

Threadmistresses- Please move me to Think I O'ed, Testing 11/20-11/26.
Thanks! In real life, I probably won't test until after that b/c we'll be at the in-laws for Thanksgiving. It will help me resist the temptation to POAS too early.
Sorry that I have been MIA. I have been lurking. The last AF hit me pretty hard. Doing much better and feeling quite positive this month (but trying to stay realistic as to not get our hopes up too much).
The latest fun is trying to figure out how to hide the progesterone. It has to be refrigerated. We are going to DH's cousins house this week, my parents during the weekend, and DH's parents for Thanksgiving. My parents house is all figured out b/c I did it before. The others, well. . . . and I could probably make something up except there are two medical professionals in the family who would know it was a bunch of crap. Gee. ..isn't this fun!
