Oh yeah, spaghetti squash is good - you can also cut it in half and put the halves face down in about 1/2" of water in a big pot and boil/steam them for 50 minutes.

I'll have to try sauteeing it in the garlic, basil and oil - I usually just put the sauce on top.

It feels good to fit into your clothes, it really does!
ITA. I never realized how tight my clothes were getting until I started losing weight. Now things that I had stopped wearing because they were uncomfortable, are feeling great! I love not having the pudge that sticks out over the sides of pants. I love not having red lines on my stomach from the rolls when I sit down.

We had spaghetti squash with pasta sauce on it.
Thanks for thinking of me! That sounds really good, actually. I do like squash. Especially acorn squash. With butter and maple syrup. That might be more than five points!

I've been halfheartedly counting points since earlier this month and I started back with full force yesterday. This weeks weigh in was on Thursday - 164.5 and next week I'll weigh on Friday mornnings. That's when I like to weigh in - I'm not doing meetings, I'm doing it all at home.

I lost about 30 lbs. in '01 and gained back about 20 lbs. of it. Then since the wedding I lost 10 of that and gone from a size 16 to a 12/14. I'm right at 14 lbs. over my lowest weight EVER!

I'll be back!

Oh I am so glad it is FRIDAY! I am going to my yoga class after work and DH and I are going to Indian food. He said we will have Tandoori chicken, I am a little worried because I have NO CLUE how many pts that could be.

I am on cloud nine today after my WI yesterday, it is the best feeling int he world to be LOSING weight and be IN CONTROL!

Speaking of spaghetti squash, I have made this recipe twice and it's delish!!! I add a lot more spices though:

Italian Turkey and Spaghetti Squash Pie

POINTS® value | 3
Servings | 6
Preparation Time | 18 min
Cooking Time | 60 min
Level of Difficulty | Moderate

main meals | Cooked spaghetti squash makes an excellent substitute for regular pasta. It’s filling comfort food, and kids will love it, too.

Ingredients

1 medium raw spaghetti squash (cubed)
1/2 pound lean ground turkey
2 tsp olive oil
1 small onion(s), chopped
1 medium garlic clove(s), minced
29 oz canned diced tomatoes, undrained
1 tsp Italian seasoning, dried
6 oz fat-free ricotta cheese
1 large egg(s)
1 serving cooking spray (5 one-second sprays per serving), nonstick
1/2 cup Kraft Free Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, or other brand

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Halve squash lengthwise; scoop out seeds. Place squash, cut sides down, in a large baking dish and prick skin all over with a fork. Bake until tender, about 30 to 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook turkey in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until brown, about 5 minutes. Drain, remove from skillet and set aside.

In same skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and stir-fry for 5 minutes, or until tender. Stir in diced tomatoes and Italian seasoning; bring to boil. Reduce heat; add cooked turkey and simmer uncovered, 5 minutes, or until desired consistency, stirring often.

Place ricotta cheese and egg in food processor or blender and puree until smooth.

Coat a 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. Remove squash from oven and increase oven temperature to 375ºF.

Using a fork, carefully rake stringy squash pulp from shell, separating it into strands that look like spaghetti. Arrange spaghetti squash strands in bottom and up sides of pie plate to form a crust.

Add ricotta cheese mixture and gently spread over squash. Pour tomato-turkey sauce over cheese mixture and sprinkle with mozzarella. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes before slicing into 6 pieces.

mobox - that spaghetti squash recipe sounds delicious. I’m definitely trying that.

I’ve been going through all of my old Cooking Light magazines, and finding recipes that look good, my husband will like, and are low in points. I don’t want to get stuck in a rut of eating the same foods every week, so my goal is to try at least 2 recipes a week. Yesterday I made minestrone, which is only 2 points a cup. Very good, and very filling, I added 3 oz of chopped cooked chicken, and I was stuffed! I’ll post the recipe is anyone is interested.

Well, today was WI day. I’m down another 4 lbs!!!! This brings my 2 week total to 9lbs. I know that I won’t continue losing at this rate, I’m surprised I’ve even lost this much, but I’m sure it has to do with my food choices. Basically, I’m about 80% doing core, but counting all of my points to stay in my point range. So, I’m counting my fruits, and meats, and anything else, but I’m eating as many whole, natural foods as I can, and staying away from refined foods, bread, pasta, etc.

How was everyone’s weekend!?

ARGH!!!!! I am having such a hard time right now eating healthy!! I went on vacation a few weeks ago and still haven't totally gotten back on track. I hate this!

Word of advice, if you go on vacation, do NOT go off your eating plan. It will be so much harder to get back on it once your vacation has ended. And you have no idea how hard! I think one week on vacation cancelled out 4 months of good eating habits. :(

I had my WI this Saturday and, much to my surprise, I lost 0.75 lbs. I really thought I hadn't gained or lost anything, so I'm pleased. I'm officially in the 140s and that's a place I haven't been for at least five years.

I'm hoping to lose at another half a pound this week. These last 10 pounds are going to be slooow going.

Friday's WI yielded a 3.8 lb loss - enough to get rid of the 2.8 I gained last week plus another pound. After this weekend I'm fairly certain I'll have another gain on Friday though. Gonna try my best to use no flex and really fill up on veggies and lean dairy!

Poohgirl - congrats on the 4lb loss!!

Way to go on the losses Mieren, Poohgirl and Calliope!

I went out for cajun food with my dad on Saturday. So good, but so so so bad! Thank goodness for FPs!

I think my WI on Wednesday will be alright though - I spent the remainder of my weekend chasing after my newly-walking 10 month old. (I wonder how to calculate the APs of parenting? :D )

I weigh in on Friday's...so I will keep posted as to how WI goes for me on Friday! :)

Yes, it helps. Thanks! I don't know why vacation was so hard for me. Is it because I got out of the habit of tracking points? Or was it that I ate dessert every evening and wanted to keep that up once we were home? Is it that I didn't attend a meeting that week? I don't know, but I do really stress staying on plan when you go on vacation.

I did well today. Worked out, got activity points, ate on plan, wrote it all down, and didn't go over my points. Hooray!!!!!

Hey All,
I think I need some encouragement today. :( J and I came back from vacation about a week ago and it seemed the weight was slowly coming off but then the weekend totally blew it and since I'm expecting AF this week, it's like a double blow. J is completely off track as well, which also doesn't help. I will be afraid to get on the scale on Friday.

To top it all off, I'm in a wedding in 19 days, and I HAVE TO lose another couple of pounds between now and then or my dress probably won't fit (though I don't have it yet so I don't even know!!!)

HELP!!!

Well, my second weigh in was last night... I lost 5.8 pounds my first week!!! :D I guess the program really does work if you stick to it, LOL.

Do you ladies use all of your weekly flex points? I used 18 of my 35 this past week. I always feel like I'm cheating when I use them, but I guess I'm not... That's what they're there for!

filmgirl7 ~ Don't be discouraged! Between AF and just coming back from vacation, you can't rely on the scale just yet. Just stick with it, and you should see results by next week for sure.

Thanks Mom2Cole... You are so sweet!

I went to Applebees for dinner with a friend last night because I wanted to try their WW menu (http://www.applebees.com/menu/menu_ww.php). I got the teriyaki steak and shrimp skewers, for 7 points. It was yummy! I should have had the cheesecake too, because...

I was really low on my points by the end of the day, yet not hungry at all. I managed to choke down some milk and a granola bar later, but I was really not hungry for it, and it made me feel too full afterward. But I know it's not good to go below my points. (I only get 20 to begin with!) Does anyone else have trouble getting all their points in, once in a while? (I know, usually it's the opposite problem! I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday...)

APCullip22

lindybug: I love applebees WW menu...it makes it nice that you can go out to dinner and have all the points figured out so that you can really enjoy our meal :) I used to have a problem eating all my points when i was getting 22 points per day, now that I only get 20, well, I usually have no problem whatsoever eating all of those...in fact, lately (for some strange reason) I've been hungry all the time. Hang in there and make sure that you eat all your points, you're doing great!

I usually use most of them over the weekend and stick to just my daily points during the week. I still feel a little guilty using them, though, as though it would be better if I didn't. The old plan didn't used to have them. Instead, they had the points built into your daily points, so I guess you really ARE supposed to eat them. Or at least some of them, anyway.

I still feel like I shouldn't, though. Not sure why.

Hey all,
Ok, so things didn't turn out at bad as I thought. AF came today, and my weight is back in the realm where it was before vacation. My weigh day is Friday, and feel like next friday could be my lowest weight of the year. Today I worked out and burned 700 calories. (perhaps my best W/O ever!)

Anyway, I don't know about you guys but I've been feeling like "I wonder what these other girls look like." I mean, I love before/after pics and things like that. So, here's what I would consider a before pic:

Also, the bridesmaid dress arrived today and when I took it out and looked at it, it was a FOUR!!!!!!! AHHH! I freaked out. Turns out they mixed up the dresses and set mine to one of the other girls. It should be arriving from her next week. I could not even get the four around my hips at all. I hope my ten fits! Must work out every day and stay on the plan for the next 18 days!

I'm going to my first meeting tomorrow and I'm definitely freaking out a little. Here are my stats--I'm 5'1 (maybe a little taller) and weigh about 132 lbs. I'd like to weigh between 115-120. I've just been lazy lately. I haven't been to the gym since I got pregnant with my now 15-month old. I don't have a lot of time to work out, but I definitely could find some time.

The thought of weighing my food and calculating points is a little bit overwhelming, though. I think I'm just not enthusiastic about the lifestyle change, though I know that I need it, KWIM?

Back when I was in my 20s, I weighed about 117. Then I lost a bunch of weight when I was in law school. I was going to the gym every day (it was more fun than studying) and then started really curbing my fat intake. But it wasn't healthy, because I ended up feeling guilty for anything "unhealthy" that I ate and I'd get furious at myself if I ate even one cookie. I never weighed an "unhealthy" amount for my frame, but it wasn't good. I'm hoping that WW will be better because I'll be "allowed" to eat the occasional cookie, as long as I've stayed within my points. Do people find this to be generally the case, or is there still a big guilt factor?

mel7dog
08-03-2005, 05:15 PM
I am also 5'1" and know how quickly the weight can pile on our small frames :( Currently I am 114 due to WW and working out 4x a week min. I have been doing WW on my own for about 2 years now and I LOVE it. I used to have "borderline eating disorder tendencies" so I know what you mean by feeling guilting about eating bad every now and then.

WW is certainly a program you are allowed to have sweets on! I LOVE sweets and couldn't like without them! There's rarely a day that goes by I don't have a cookie or a mini candy bar  The trick with WW is learning to balance it all. I never feel like I am depriving myself, because I can honestly eat what I want, as long as it's in moderation.

I think I'm just not enthusiastic about the lifestyle change
WW will work for you, if you stick to it and get excited :)

Good luck with your meeting!

Today is my weigh in day so here I go.

Starting weight this time (7/26): 137.8
last WI: 135.4
TODAY: 134.2
Goal for next WI: 132.8

Well, I missed my own personal goal for this week by .2 pounds, but I'm glad for the loss I've had. I'm hoping that the end of AF will yield a greater loss this week. I'm a little impatient at the moment because before vacation I was 132.2, so everything since getting back has just been damage control, and I'm ready to break some new ground!

Also, my best friend's wedding is in 16 days, and I don't know if I have a prayer of fitting into the size 10 skirt if I don't lose about an inch in my waist in the next two weeks. But I know i can do it!!!

Congratulations to everyone this week, not just for the losses, but for the time and attention you've put towards improving your health and overall well-being. All of your efforts are creating a "health vibe" and I think it's awesome! :)

Hi all - congrats on the losses this week.

My WI is tomorrow, I'm feeling alright about it.

Just heard about a recipe:

4 Points - Diet Soda Cake #130793
WW recipe

1 (18 ounce) box dry cake mix (any flavor)
10 ounces diet soda (any flavor)
1-2 egg white (slightly beaten, optional but cake stays together better and is fluffier)

12 servings Change size or US/metric
Change to: servings US Metric

25 minutes 5 mins prep

Mix the dry cake mix, the diet soda, and the egg white(s) until well
blended.
Pour into a 9 X 13 sprayed pan or prepared cupcake tins.
Cook according to the directions on cake mix box.
Slice into 12 pieces - 4 points per slice.

Addtl note: Also try a yellow cake mix with diet Sprite (or Fresca or 7-Up) with a dollop of Cool Whip -- tastes like a "Twinkie".

Serving Ideas : Diet Soda Cake Combinations:
orange cake /diet Mountain Dew
cherry chip cake / A& W diet Cream soda
diet lemon + lemon;
angel or yellow cake/orange diet pop
diet peach with white cake
spice cake/ diet lemon-lime pop
diet ginger ale + white
diet cherry sodas in chocolate cake
Diet cola + devils food or chocolate mix
diet vanilla coke in chocolate cake
devils food cake with diet Vanilla coke
diet root beer with chocolate cake
diet cherry coke with chocolate cake
marble cake + diet cream soda
lemon with tangerine Diet Rite.

Has anyone tried this? I'm so curious! Maybe I'll make this tomorrow after my WI!

I have made that Diet Coke cake - I made cupcakes so they would automatically be in smaller serving sizes. They were pretty good - you wouldn't know there was Diet Coke in there. They were REALLY good w/ fat free cool whip.

I did feel like there was a chemical aftertaste. It was very faint, and it might have been just because I knew about the Diet Coke - I don't know if I would have noticed it if I was just given one to eat.

Hi all!

I used to be a member of this thread back on that other site and I am trying to get back on track. I've been on and off WW for three years. I am still down around 40 pounds from three years ago, but I am up ten from my all-time low, and still 15 from my personal goal.

I am recommitting myself, and will do a WI at the gym tonight (scale at home is only .5 lb increments)

Quick question -
I usually figure 1 point per ounce of lean meat, but I have confused myself - is it 1 ounce cooked or raw? If I weigh my chicken before I cook it, does anyone have a system for determining the number of points when it is cooked?
For example, a chicken breast that is about 6 ounces raw = how many points??

I have eaten the Diet Coke cake and cupcakes before - they're pretty good!

Thats so AWESOME!!! GREAT JOB!!!!

I had WI this morning and lost 1.8 so Im excited about that! I tried out core this week but I didnt end up sticking to the whole week...but I did use more of my points on protein and stuff like that instead of carbs that just make me hungry an hour later! I think that helped alot. I want to do Core totally but Im kinda easing my way into it and getting familiar with whats okay and not okay on core!

Congratulations everyone!

I finally have a loss. I've been struggling to lose some weight since my vacation one month ago. I lost 2 pounds today! woo hoo!!! I feel like I'm finally back on track.

And I'll say it one more time so you all learn from my mistake: Do NOT go off program on vacation, thinking you'll get back on track when you return home. It's taken me a month, tight clothes, and a lot of regrets to get back on track. Never again!

DD - Great job after the vacation!!

So I had my weigh in last night and in 2 weeks, I gained 2 pounds!! I did exactly what DD said not to do...I went off program for my two extended weekends the last two weeks!! Ugh! Not so happy, but considering how much beer I drank and all the crap I ate...it's not as bad as I expected. But my butt is definitely in gear from here on out!!!!

WOW!!! Congrats to THE BIG LOSERS!!!! :) You are inspiring. KEEP IT UP! Do not stop, or take a break... stay in "THE GROOVE!"

Hi all,

I hate to say it, but I've been afraid of this thread... the last two weeks of my nursing semester were insane with four hours of sleep a night... needless to say I did not count points. Once the semester was over the pressure was off, but the "groove" I was in with WW when I started has been hard to get back on. I think I've been rebelling... not entirely, mind you. I've sorta been keeping track of points in my head... I've just been ignoring my WW online journal, and ignoring this thread, and, even though I suspect I have not gained due to how my clothes are fitting (I haven't weighed myself in about 4 weeks??) I doubt I have lost, and that's what I really need to do. So, here I am, with my tail between my legs, WILLING myself to start again...

Here goes! I'm off to the WW website...

I'm really starting to not like the little old lady who weighs me in each week. Needless to say, I gained 2.6 pounds this week, but I got in almost 40 activity points and I stayed on track 6 out of the 7 days this week. I know my gain is simply muscle, but its discouraging. And the little old lady weighing me in doesn't help with her reactions... "oops, I guess you messed up this week."

In the past week, I've built up my running endurance from 5 minute jog/25 minute walk to 18 jog/12 minute walk. I think I did an amazing job this week, and no gain or rude little old lady will get in my way!!!

Today is my weigh in day so here I go.

Starting weight (7/26): 137.8
last WI: 134.2
TODAY: 133.4
Goal for next WI: 132.2

So, I missed my goal this week by .6 and only lost .8 pounds but on the positive side, I can guarantee that the .8 was real weight lost because I've been working my A$$ off! I went to the gym every morning this week and burned an average of 600 calories per visit. Yesterday after the gym I actually weighed 132.6 but fair is fair so I'm not counting that.

I've been keeping a spreadsheet of my weight since May of '04, and getting into the realm of 131 is something i haven't done since LAST JULY, so that will be a huge achievement for me....maybe that will happen this week. :) :)

I tried on the bridesmaid dress again a couple days ago and the top is definitely fitting looser. The skirt....well, who knows. The real test will be when I put it on next Sunday for the wedding.

It's sad....I went away for a 9 day vacation and it's taken me 3 WEEKS to get my weight back down where it was!

udsweetpea: Please ignore that ww lady who told you that you "messed up." She doesn't know what she's talking about! You're doing GREAT, and I'm sure your clothes will be fitting looser if you keep it up. A little fluctuation is normal and the development of good exercise habits is invaluable. Good luck!

Andrea, I can't believe that woman at WW said that to you! The ladies who do my WIs are always so cheery and supportive and positive. Isn't that what the whole experience is about? I would be mortified if one of them said that to me and would avoid them on future WIs. Seriously, that's just no okay.

I have a question for people. I seem to plateau every 10lbs or so, stay there for a several weeks and then all of a sudden start losing again. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm just wondering if it's weird. I don't know why my body would do that. You'd think you would just lose weight at a consistant pace.

mierin: Keep plugging away, don't get discouraged because as you know the weight will come off. I do have plateaus every now and again, they are so annoying for me. You're doing great, keep it up!

As for my weigh in today, I am now 2 pounds above my goal weight...it will probably take me until christmas to get there, but somehow, I will....I'm sticking to this! A non scale victory for me to share, I bought a size 4 skort and a size 4 pair of capri pants the other day!!!!! :) I'm still in shock and keep telling myself that they are probably just made big! lol. Iknow that in regular jeans I'm still probably a 6 or 8,but hey, i'll take it! :)

Amber-Definitely dont feel bad! thats why I love this thread...to see everyones motivation and goals reached! It pushes me to stay with it!!

As far as the comment from the WI lady..that is just wrong!! I would definitely say something back to her next time. I know probably at the time your just so in awe that she said it you dont have a comeback to it.

Also how are the scales when you all go to WI? In my meeting you walk into the room and the scales are on the left and everyone sits behind the people sitting at the table with the scales...so I know if your sitting over there you can simply look over and see what someone weighs! this makes me so uncomfortable to get on the scale! Is that how it is everywhere??? Im assuming its not but I have no idea! I just thought it was kinda weird!

Where I go, the scales are in a totally seperate room. You walk in and there are three scales. On the other side of the wall in another couple of scales and then there's a room for meetings. All of the people who read the scales are against a wall, so no one can look unless they go behind the counter.

Andrea – that’s amazing that you got 40 AP’s in one week! This week I got 4. :D Don’t let that lady bring you down. Next time, just don’t go to her. And if you have to, tell her something if she makes another comment. Or tell the instructor. That’s not a way to motivate people. Jerky.

Anyhow, I was really worried to get on the scale this week. I wasn’t bad per se, but I did have a couple of days where I ate more than I should have. And yesterday was definitely one of those. My hubby was gone all day, and the house was clean, and there was nothing on tv, so what do you think I did? Yup, I ate. Granted, I ate mainly good stuff, fruit, veggies, chicken, a couple of chips :D, but I felt like I couldn’t stop. I was bored, and I just wanted to eat and eat and eat! I know now that boredom is a HUGE trigger for me, so I have to try to keep myself occupied. But when I stepped on the scale this morning, I lost

4 more pounds!. Fabulous! That brings my 4 week total to 16 lbs. Amazing. As for activity, I did take 2-30 minute walks this week. My goal for this week is 3-30 min walks. It’s not so easy, as it’s still so hot outside. I have an exercise bike, but it’s not a recumbent, and unfortunately, it hurts my back when I ride it, so I’m looking forward to cooler weather so I can get more exercise!

Anyhow, I hope everyone’s weekend was good, and everyone was good! Unlike me. Have a good week!

I had my weigh in on Saturday and I'm down another 1.4 lbs. Woo! I'm so excited. Within the next couple weeks, if things keep going like this, I should hit the 25 lb mark. I can't believe I weigh 146 lbs! I haven't weighed that little since I was a freshman in college. It's so exciting.

I have another question for people. I made this delicious chicken salad from Cooking Light and when I punched in the nutritional information, it came out as being 4 points per serving. However, when I entered the ingrediants into the recipe builder on WW.com, it came out as being 6 points per serving. I'm so confused. How can they be so different? Which one should I go with?

emmjay
08-15-2005, 08:05 AM
That happened to me too - I made a frittata from Cooking Light and it was 5 pts per serving, but on WW recipe builder it was 7. I decided to just split the difference and call it 6. I don't really know! I guess it's better to err on the high side.

mierin-great job!! 25lbs is a remarkable feat! I remember earlier this week, I was talking about how I had such a looonnnnnggg way to go, and that 12 lbs was just the tip of the iceberg. My husband came back with a 5lb bag of flour and said, you've lost 2 1/2 of these, probably 3 by the end of the week. You should be damned proud of yourself! It was great. I can't wait to hit the 25lb mark! Good for you!

I've always just used the nutritional information from Cooking Light, as I've never used the recipe builder. Interesting. However, if you also do the ingredients individually, like I made this soup, according to CL, the points value was 6. But, if I counted everything individually, like tomatoes (0), eggplant (0), etc, it came out to 2 points. I just used the 6 points, and called it good. I think their calorie info is accurate enough, and I'm fine trusting that.

So what was the chicken recipe? I'd love to try it! I've been cooking maybe two to three recipes from CL a week, trying different stuff so our menu doesn't get old. It's been working out great.

karie - basically, I'm doing points, but I'm mainly eating core foods if that makes sense. So, even though say, fruit and veggies are core foods, if they have a point value, I count them. So, I'm trying really hard to eat as healthy as possible, but I'm counting my points. And apparently, it's working! I have no plans on changing the way I'm eating. It's great, I feel wonderful (no joint pain, no allergies, softer skin), and I'm losing weight. Who'da thunk?

Aug2002Bride
08-15-2005, 09:50 AM

Poohgirl - An inspiration....I need to start filling up my points by eating more "core" foods also!

Karie- this is my biggest hurdle..I can't stop eating just "2 points" foods. I have been having a horrible time trying to get back on track and I can't stop snacking on Junk stuff also....aaah how do I beat that?

DD - Now I know exactly what you were talking about on getting back on track after vacation....man it is definitely taking a toll on me! I just started a new walking program for myself, and I have a goal to lose 7 lbs by this time next month. I'm hoping having a smaller goal will keep me from getting discouraged (7 lbs sounds a lot easier than 20!)

I had an interesting NSV (non-scale victory) yesterday. I had PMS and I was majorly craving something sweet. To make it worse, I was at the grocery store. I wanted doughnuts, but I didn't get some. I wanted cookies, but I said no. I wanted any type of pastries, but I passed them up. Finally I decided to satisfy my urge, but with something healthier. So, I bought raisins and pigged out on those.

Two years ago I would have eaten a whole box of cookies. Yesterday, I ate a few cups of raisins. Much better and a huge improvement in my PMS snacking choices!

Congratulations AttyGrl and PeanutButter! You guys are doing great!

I feel like I've had way too many questions lately, but I have yet another one. What do you do when you're sick? I've been feeling under the weather for the last few days (sore throat, stuffy nose) and all I want when I'm sick is grilled cheeses and other comfort foods. I don't want veggies or fruit or other good-for-me things. Do I let my body have what it's craving when it's sick or do I still try to pay attention to points? I want some orange juice, but I'm afraid of having a big glass because of the points!

COngrats to the losers for the week!! That is awesome!!! And GREAT job DD for passing up the sweets for a healthier sweet!!!

Mierin - My suggestion would be to try to keep in mind your points value, but also take into account your health. I love making grilled cheese sandwiches with the Parkay's spray butter (0) points and Fat Free sliced Cheddar Cheese with wheat bread. Total point value is (3) points...so that's not too bad at all. Also you could make some (0) pointt soup if you want and then you can even add egg noodles or chicken to each serving to make it a (2) or (3) point soup which is also a great "sick" food. But me personally, I would concentrate on getting myself healthy again with keeping in mind my points value in the back of my head. Get well soon!

First, congratulations to everyone for their losses this week! You're all doing an awesome job!!! :)

I'm having a really rough time today. Last night I couldn't sleep and got up in the middle of the night and ATE! Boy, did I eat!!! 12 points worth. UGH! The good news is, I had the flex points left, so that's not a big deal. The bad thing is, I keep putting myself back at every turn. Sunday we went out to dinner with J's parents, and Monday we had leftovers from that. (Burrito Grande..) I was just starting to see some progress and now I'm set back again. Tomorrow is my weigh in, and I think I won't be losing too much this week, though I've stuck to my points better than I ever have before and exercised like a nut! Ok, here goes...

Starting weight (7/26): 137.8
last WI: 133.4
TODAY: 132.4
Overall total loss: 5.4 lbs.
Goal for next WI: 131.6

Here's the thing though....since my last weigh in, I've burned 3650 calories at the gym. This was also the first week in forever that I came in below my points! Based on what I was doing I really thought I would lose more, especially since I'm in a wedding on Sunday!!!

However, that said, I am very excited for next week. My scale hasn't read 131.? in over a year....so I'm on the cusp. Only 25 pounds to go. LOL!!! :p

Congrats Filmgirl, you're doing great!

Had my weigh in this morning, lost 1 pound...which means...I am only 1 pound above my goal weight....AHHH. It's probably going to take another 6 months to get there, but darn it, I will!

Congratulations, Amber! You'll get there next week, I know it! You have done such an amazing job, and I'm so proud of you!

Amber, that's fantastic! Congratulations!

I had a bad weekend. :o First, I slept in and skipped WI and then I had a run-in with Cold Stone Creamery. So bad, but so goood! I hopped back on the wagon on Sunday, but the damage was done. I didn't gain anything this past week, but I know I didn't lose anything, either. I suppose this last 10 lbs would be coming off a whole lot faster if I quit it with the ice cream!

Sigh. I'll get there eventually.

Good job Amber!!! YAY for reaching goal! Awesome!

Well, I had a bad week. Due to a number of social obligations, I ended up eating out 5 times this week! Aye! I tried to keep it healthy, but I know I didn't do as good as I could have if I had been making my own meals. Still, I managed to drop 2 pounds. Which is weird, 2 lbs is great, right? But, I've been on a roll dropping 4lbs a week, I feel a little disappointed. Snap out of it!!!

:D

Anyhow, that brings my 5 week total to 18lbs! YAY! 2 more lbs, and I'll hit the 20lb mark, and 1/3 of my goal!

Great losses, everyone! :) You are an inspiration.

I hit the 10 pound mark last Monday (yay) and will WI again tonight. I think the weight loss is starting to slow down... I'm hoping to be down one pound tonight, but we'll see. I really need to start getting in some more exercise, and not only concentrating on the food aspect.

This next week (my 5th week on the program) will be a challenge... I'll be on vacation! Wish me luck and lots of willpower, ladies.

I have a few questions - Has anyone just done the online program? What does it supply you with and how does it work?

I'm thinking about joining WW. I need to get healty and lose weight. I did Atkins a while ago and lost a bunch of weight but put it all back on. I want a healthy way to do it this time to keep the weight off.

AttyGrl74

Hi Jellybelly - I do the online program only (no time for meetings with a baby in tow). It really is a comprehensive program. The website has the points-tracker and the weight tracker and the database of like 10,000 foods and their point values. You can also use the recipe builder where you input the ingredients and servings and it tells you the points. There also are a ton of WW recipes you can search through and use.

Did you use the "WW At Home" or just the "Online" program?
How does it calculate how many points you can have?
So the program is pretty much sticking to the number of points per day?
Are there different stages that you go through?

Sorry about the q's I'm just trying to understand how it works. I think I might get DH to try it with me. I really want to both of us to get healthy again.

I don't know anything about WW at Home - but the online program will run you through a setup where you put in your current weight and it suggests a goal weight which you can change and then based on your current weight it assigns you points. The point-assignment is the same whether you do WWonline or at home or at meetings.

The breakdown is like this:

Current Weight POINTS Target
Less than 150 pounds: 20
150 - 174 pounds: 22
175 - 199 pounds: 24
200 - 224 pounds: 26
225 - 249 pounds: 28
250 - 274 pounds: 30
275 - 299 pounds: 31
300 - 324 pounds: 32
325 - 349 pounds: 33
More than 350 pounds: 34

Plus everyone gets 35 flex points to use whenever you want during the week.

Mind if I join ya?

I was on WW 2 years ago and lost 32 pounds. Unfortunately, I gained all of it back (and more) during TTC and pregnancy. I'd like to get back in the swing of things and shed these pounds.

I didn't do any meetings or anything last time. Just bought the books online and tracked my points. As far as support, I hung out in this thread.

My short term goal is 25 pounds...back down to my PP weight. After that, I'd like to lose another 25 pounds. We'll see.

Thanks for that post AttyGrl! I've been eating Snickers Ice Cream bars like they are going out of style, so that is just the wake up call I needed.

Hey All,
I'm getting so frustrated. For the past four weeks I have stuck to this program like glue, and exercised my A$$ off, but I can't seem to get past stupid 132.2 on the scale. It's really annoying. Yesterday I went to the gym and burned 540 calories, and that's about average for what I do every day in my workout. Why isn't it helping?

Has anyone been able to break through a stubborn platteau, and if so, what did you do? To weigh 131 again would be such a huge step for me, but I can't seem to reach it. I REALLY wanted to get back into the 120's before school starts next friday. Help!

Thanks in advance!

Filmgirl...are you counting in your AP? I wasnt doing that for awhile because I just couldnt understand that you could exercise and then eat more food for it. So after I started doing that I got over my little plateau.

It definitely is tough to stick with it when the scale stays the same or goes up. Its easy to give up and not want to pay money every week for that. I wasnt going to go this morning because I knew I had gained, but I still went and sure enough I gained.

Im going to try out Core this week, because Im sick of using all my points up on 1 and 2 point things and then being hungry an hour later. So we'll see how it goes! Im excited about trying out Core.

Just a thought, but are you going by the number of calories the machine says you have burned? Those are not really accurate. I know that when I used to use the elliptical trainer, it would tell me I had burned 500 calories, but I had barely broken a sweat so I knew it wasn't correct.

AttyGrl74

Don't sweat a plateau Flygirl! I was stuck in the 220s for 2 months. That was really horrible. I got out of my plateau by getting food poisoning. I wouldn't suggest that route! :D

Starting weight: 147.1
Last week: 144.1
This week: 143.0
This week: -1.1
Total: -4.1

Congrats attygrl and welcome liznkeith

filmgirl - I would echo what myra said - the calorie counters on gym machines are notoriously unreliable - I stick to the WW system of counting APs - and eating them, as Aug2002 said. I have a slider that calculates them, but you can only "eat" up to 4 APs - I almost always eat all 4!!
Aug2002 let us know how Core goes! I have been sticking with Points, but really focusing on eating Core foods (as I munch down on a plate of raw summer tomatoes... YUM.

Hello...can I join in the fun? ;)

I actually had joined the other WW thread here, but it seems to be dead in the water so I wanted to pop in to this one. It is so encouraging to read about all of your losses. DH and I started WW in April, neither of us had done the program before.

My stats:
Starting weight: 140
Current weight: 122
WW Goal: 120
Personal Goal: 115

DH and I had been steadily losing until we went on vacation at the beginning of the month. A little too much splurging (despite Disco Diva's advice), and now I'm struggling to get back on the plan - and I'm weighing in (at home) higher than my pre-vacation weight. After missing two weeks of meetings I'll weigh in for real tomorrow. I'm hoping it won't be too disappointing.

I think we all splurge on a vacation once, then learn our lesson. Unfortunately, it's a hard lesson to learn. Fortunately, we really learn
the lesson!

My plateau experience: I had been on a one month plateau when I gave myself one day to eat junk all day! I had pizza, cookies, you name it. The next weigh-in, I finally broke my plateau. I think the pig out day jumpstarted my metabolism. However, I do NOT recommend this, as it may backfire.

I just wanted to chime in and agree with people that everyone hits plateaus. My personal theory, and this is just mine and is probably totally wrong, is that the longer we stayed at a particular weight on the way up, the longer we'll stay there on the way down. For instance, I stalled at 150 for about a month, but I weighed 150 for several years so I figure it took my body a little while to get used to weighing less than that. This is just my pet theory and makes me feel a little better about plateaus. You'll break through them eventually.

PeanutButter
08-25-2005, 07:26 PM
I have a slider for APs.
It depends on weight, intensity of workout and time.

I know that for my weight (-150) if I do at least 35 min of high intensity (i.e. running), I get 4 APs.

The intensity level (perhaps not surprisingly) makes a big difference. In order to gain 4 APs doing moderate intensity (i.e. fast walking or biking) I have to do close to 80 minutes.

I don't know that there is a formula - but if you wanted to know about a specific situation, I coudl tell you how many APs you earned!!

Today was my weigh in, and I'm kind of despairing today.....I did pretty well on the program this week, though I was over by 6 points. That never used to cause a problem.

Starting weight (7/26): 137.8
last WI: 132.4
TODAY: 132.4
Overall total loss: 5.4 lbs.
Goal for next WI: 131.8

:( I lost nothing this week. I want so badly to be in the 120's but I just can't seem to get there.

A couple of noteworthy things this week.....yesterday after my workout I hopped on the scale for fun, and I weighed 131.6! That was cool. I hadn't seen that number since last summer, so it did make me feel good.
Also, I've been taking Ortho-lo starting last month, but for some reason i'm getting my period a week early! It's not due til next Wednesday, yet here it is. I'm sure that's causing a little bit of water/weight retention. I just wonder if that will be true next week as well. I thought BCP was supposed to prevent such things. Oh well....

Short term goal: 130 on September 6th. This is the first day of school!
Wish me luck!

I gained .1 this week at WI.

Starting 161.2
Last WI 155.3
Loss 5.9

At one point, before I got married last year, I had made it to a 14.2 loss but I'm sooooo stuck at 155. It's really pissing me off. Two weeks ago I started religiously going to the gym. Almost every day. It's helping a little. My mini goal is 150 before September 15. I was in Vegas for 3 days this week so that probably didn't help in my non=-loss.

I currently weigh ~195 and my goal is ~145. I am 5'4". I weight about 145 around 4 years ago and just gradually started adding on a few pounds here and there until I had a baby and then of course it jumped up to an all-time high! Now I am stuck at about 20 pounds above my prebaby weight.

That being said, my first goal is to lose the rest of the baby weight, so 20lbs. My overall goal, though, is 145.

Less than 150 - 20 points
150 to 174 - 22 points
174 to 199 - 24 points
200 to 224 - 26 points
225 to 249 - 28 points
250 to 274 - 30 points
274 to 299 - 31 points
300 to 324 - 32 points
325 to 349 - 33 points

So your DH would be at 24 points.

I'm Backk!!!!! I LOVE WW and am back again. I lost 35 lbs. back in '01 and gained back all but 10 lbs. of it since late '02. I've got my motivation back and would love to be a member here. I just cut back last week and lost 1 lb. but I'm back on WW full time today. I weigh in on Monday's supposedly. I am doing it at home, and I'd like to change my weigh in day to Friday, but I'll stick with the Monday for a few weeks.

I began my WW journey at 185 lbs. I lost down to 150, then gained back to 175 last year. Due to stress, I lost a few lbs. before the wedding and since the wedding have held my own. I am right now at 167.5 lbs. I'm 5' 6'' and miserable at this weight. When I gained back my weight, lots of it went to my hips and butt, something I've never had, so I'm now built totally different!

Has anyone used the "Get Fit" WW workout dvd? I did the high intensity one yesterday, and Im SO sore today! ACK! It was a great workout though, I'm curious to see if it helped on the scales this week!

Good Luck everyone!

Although I've been working out I wasn't seeing any real results & after going through a friends WW book I decided to join. I just started WW this past Friday and in the span of a few days my weight has dropped a total of 6.5 lbs - is this normal?

I'll just write it all out here:

Friday morning 150 lbs
Friday night 148 lbs (didn't think anything of it since I've fluctuated between 148 & 150)

Sunday morning (cause I'm an admitted scale whore) 146 :)

Then this morning....143.5  I had my mom weigh herself just to make sure the scale is working. I mean I'm happy if its finally coming off but just wondering whats the norm?

I'm also doing it online -I have to go through this entire thread but any tips for a newbie would be appreciated!

Angel,
Stop weighing yourself every day!!! There are normal flucuations day to day, but you need to pick one day and weigh yourself that day at the same time every week. That's the only true gauge of how much you will lose.

Here's some inspiration to stay on WW even if you aren't losing as much as you want:

Two years ago I had a full blood workup. My triglyceride level was 259. That is in the High category - not good. I had a full blood workup last week. My new triglyceride level is 91! I'm now in the normal range, and not even close to the borderline area!

Whoo hoo! Week 20 Weigh In
SW: 245.0
CW: 206.0
Lost this week: -3.2
Total lost: 39 lbs.
Total left: 31 lbs!

I'm more than halfway!

I think I'm going to try the Wendie Plan for a week or two. I'm curious if it really works.

Have any of you tried the Wendie Plan?

http://www.stormpc.com/ww/wendie_plan.htm

My Wendie Plan will be:

POINTS TARGET - 26 (Weigh 200 - 224 lbs)

Day 1 - 26 points (Wed)
Day 2 - 31 points (Th)
Day 3 - 27 points (Fri)
Day 4 - 41 points Super High Day (SHD) (Sat)
Day 5 - 26 points (Sun)
Day 6 - 30 points (Mon)

I just wanted to add on to this. The last time I was in the doc's office, my blood pressure had dropped from 120/90 to 90/60, which is great! I couldn't believe it. I also have high colesterol, so I'm hoping that, like you DD, mine is much lower when I got in for my next physical. I really didn't realize that just losing 25 lbs would make such an impact on my body.

That is great DD!

Atty - I have never heard of that Wendie plan, but it sounds pretty much like the same thing with the extra 35 points added. You will definitely have to update us and see what differences you saw!

btw, I was totally off program last week but I still managed to lose -.02 of a pound! Oh well, what can I say at least I didn't gain! I don't think I am going to weigh in today because I just know i gained this week! I think I am going to use my no weigh in pass! Good luck to all you ladies this week!

Just wanted to drop in and say hello... I've been sick with a cold/flu all week and haven't had an appetite, so therefore haven't been counting anything because I've barely been eating.

My appetite has started to come back today... as soon as it is fully, I'll be ready to go!

Wow, such excellent news from everybody! (well, except for you emily, hopefully you'll feel better soon!)

I had my weigh in on Monday, lost 2 more lbs, bringing my 6 week total to 20 lbs! Yay!

But this was my birthday week, and with everyone taking me out, and my lack of willpower (boo!) I haven't been doing very good. But my birthday is gone now, and I am going to get back on track starting today! So, hopefully the damage won't be too bad on Monday's weigh in.

Keep up the good work everyone! I hope you all have a safe, happy, and low-point holiday weekend!

My first week weight loss was only -0.5 lbs. Boo!

I was doing excellent all the way up to the weekend. Sunday is my weigh day, and I chose to use all my extra points on Friday and Saturday. This might have something to do with it, I guess.

Congratulations to everyone who lost weight this week! I've been completely absent from keeping my points because we took a long weekend last week, and then there was another long weekend, and I knew it was going to be a mess. Today is my first day "back" (also the first day of the new school year, so truly a beginning) and I'll be leaving for the gym in a little while. I'm just hoping that when I get on the scale on Friday that my weight hasn't shot up.

Current motivator: My cousin's wedding on September 24th! It's also our 6 year anniversary next Saturday....so that's something to exercise for! LOL! :)

I am not going to Weight Watchers, but my mom is, and I am just using her online tools to keep track of my points each day. I am wondering if someone can tell me...

How many activity points should I be earning each week?

Thanks!

EmilyBronte - According to WW material, they reccommend earning 4 activity points per day = 28 activity points per week. They also reccommend EATING those points!!!! :) It seems like a lot, but you can rack up those points very quickly!! I average 4 on three days per week, 2-3 on three other days, and take one day off. ;)

Good Luck!!

Hm. So, I had an awful week last week. There was chocolate and muffins at work and I'm only human. Then, this weekend we had a barbeque and it was my last hurrah before heading off to school so I drank and ate with abandon. Miraculously, and with no explanation, I've finally dropped to 140. I don't get it. I probably ate for than twice my bonus points last week and lost more than I had in the past three weeks combined.

Weight loss is a very strange thing sometimes.

Also, congrats to all the losers! It's so inspiring to hear how well everyone is doing.

Thank you! So, if they recommend that you eat your activity points, do they also recommend that you eat all of your 35 flex points per week, too? That seems like a TON of points!

Kristibell

I have a question about fiber.

Say 1 serving of something has the following nutritional information:
100 calories
5 grams of fat
6 fiber

Now, I know when calcuating that I can only use 4 fiber, so the item would be 2 points, but if I eat 2 servings and double the cals/fat can I also double the fiber? or does it cap at 4 regardless of the servings?

I think I know the answer, but I want to be sure.

mrstim
09-09-2005, 09:41 AM
Yes, they do recommend you eat all the points given to you! It does seem like a lot of food, but here's the reason why.

Each point is roughly equal to 50 calories, more or less. If you eat say 22 points per day, you're going to eat roughly 1100 calories, more or less. Your body WILL go into starvation mode and begin burning muscle instead of fat for energy. Given that, you will not be losing weight, because your body will be holding onto everything it has for the simple reason of survival! It's not like your body knows you're on Weight Watchers, ya know! So...they offer you plenty of "other" points to get. The developers of WW know that you as a human will have times that you want other foods that may not fit within your day's alotment of points. Therefore they give you a "leeway" to eat other points. If you put 28 activity points + 35 flex points + normal 22 points per day it equals 31 points average per day = 1550 calories average per day. That's how you're able to lose weight by eating flexies, activity points & your normal points. Remember my calculations are roughly off, as fiber can offset the calories that make up a point. ;)

I remember one diet that I was on, which was one piece of bread for breakfast, 2 oz. tuna & five crackers for lunch, and one cup of carrots, one cup of green beans for supper. That's starvation! Bottom line is even though we've all been taught that a "diet" is eating barely enough to survive and excersicing plenty! It sounds crazy, but you DO need to eat more to be able to lose more. As long as you burn off more calories during the week than you consume, you will lose. It may not be as fast as some of these "crash" diets, but you won't be losing muscle tone and energy.

Hope this all makes plenty of sense! I'm welcome to feedback, by the way!

EmilyBronte

Kristibell~
I looked at the online calculator I use on WW tools, and for 100 calories, 5 grams of fat and 6 grams of fiber, it says 2 points. For 200 calories, 10 grams of fat and 12 grams of fiber, it says 4 points. However, when I did 200 calories, 10 grams of fat and 4 grams of fiber, it was still 4. So, I guess the fiber must cap out at 4 grams.

EmilyBronte
09-09-2005, 10:00 AM
mrstim~
That does make sense. I was just trying to figure out how it made sense to earn the activity points if you were going to just eat back all the calories you just burned. But it makes sense the way you explained it! Thanks!

DiscoDiva
09-09-2005, 11:57 AM
The fiber caps at 4. If not, some people would dump fiber in their food in order to eat more, and would circumvent the proper food servings and points.

Just wanted to briefly show my face here to say that I fell off the wagon and i'm slowly trying to get back on. Two long weekends will do that, but this was the first week of school so it's a "new beginning." :) I put back about a pound, maybe 1.5 so I'm not going to freak out. My clothes still fit pretty well. Also, I went to the gym three times this week, and I'll go twice this weekend. It will be ok. No weight to report at the moment though....let's not go there.

Suscribing to this thread!!! I just re-joined WW this past Saturday. I was a member about 2 years ago and lost 60lbs! My DH and I decided to get pregnant and I was not allowed to work out exept for walking and 4 months after he was born we got pregnant with the second one. It has been 8 weeks since our second son was born (C-section) and I have been cleared to work out. My motivation is that me and DH have a wedding that we are in this time next year and the dress has already been ordered for me. A size 12! That is my motivation. Plus, I have all the clothes that I bought when I lost my weight the last time.

Current Stats:

Does everyone count "small things" in their activity points?? I walk a lot now that I started back to school, but I don't count those walking points as activity points...should I?? I power walk so it is good exercise and it takes me about 20 minutes to get from my parking garage area to my class...which includes me taking 2-3 flights of stairs...

I had hit a plateau and i've finally broken through. It has taken me one year!!!!! YAY! I haven't weighed anything less than 132 since last summer!!!

Next weekend is my cousin's wedding. I'm wondering if I could possibly be 130 by then but we'll see....I've also changed my weigh in day to Wednesday so that maybe I can be the next "biggest loser". LOL. I love that show! :)

This may have been asked before, but I don't remember...

I'm not sure how to count the points in this situation. I brought soup for lunch today. 1 serving = 130 cal, 2 g fat, 4 g fiber - which according to my pointsfinder slide = 2 points. There are 2 servings in the can. Do I double the points and count my lunch as 4 points? When I double the serving info and look it up on my pointsfinder it comes out as 5 points. So which do I go with - 4 or 5? I guess to be on the conservative side I should count it as 5?

Now I am a senior and I am getting married next summer and I need to loose 20 pounds. I am going to officially start counting points tommorow. Week 1: - 1.2 lbs.
Goal for week 2: 152
10% Goal: 141

Starting weight: 166 : (

overall weight lose: 9
Goal #1: 142 (pre-preggo weight)

I would probably go with 5. The 2 points per serving is probably slightly more than 2, like 2.4, which would round down to 2. But 2 servings would be 2.4 + 2.4 which is 4.8 which would round up to 5. Make sense?

Welcome to the new members of the thread! :)

I love WW online too. I wouldn't want to do WW w/out it. So easy to track points and exercise, look up points, get recipes... etc. I think it's worth the $13/month or whatever.

I've tried counting points on my own, but I'm going to mtgs now b/c psychologically I have to go to the mtgs. and weigh ins in order to not go off the program. I don't have enough willpower. I need the structure and accountability.

First off, congratulations to attygirl!!!! Best of luck with your pregnancy!!!

Ok, I weighed in this morning and expected the worst because i've been eating nonstop for the past five days. however, the damage wasn't as bad as I thought, so here goes....

Starting weight (7/26): 137.8
last WI: 131.6
TODAY: 131.8
Overall total loss: 6.0
Goal for next WI: 131.0

So I was up by .2, but I don't think that's bad, knowing what I've been eating. Plus I was visited by AF this week, and that's never a good thing. I'm hoping to head back to the gym today after work and tomorrow as well, assuming I have enough energy.

Motivators: Well, the big one is that I will go for the fitting of my wedding dress next month, and would LOVE to be in the 120's for the first time in over a year so that my dress looks awesome on me.
Also, my 10 year high school reunion is Nov. 25th, so I've GOTTA get in shape for that.

I don't think I have fully been on WW since the beginning of September! First, I was helping with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Then, I became a Hurricane Rita evacuee. It is so hard to eat healthy when you are eating prepackaged foods that require no refrigeration, you can't bring healthy food with you, and the only places open to buy food are convenience stores! Plus, my WW meetings were canceleld due to the hurricane. Amazingly enough, if I have gained weight, it has only been a few pounds. I guess it's because I have been so busy and active.

Maybe I'll be able to really start tracking again in October.

I really wish we had TJ's down here. I love that place!

Shell,
I'm nursing too and plan on going back OP. I was planning on just adding 2 points to my recommended point range. Nursing only requires an additional 500 calories or so. Each ounce of BM is approximately 20 calories.

WW and Nursing

I did find my book that says you get 10 extra points per day if you're nursing (my book is from 2004). I also did the flex plan then, so I'll use 35 extra points/week.

I just need to know what the grace period is to get back to your goal weight. I've read 12 weeks and then I've read 6 months or whenever you stop nursing. I'm just not clear on what it's supposed to be.

Just joining in here ... I was on WW in Feb - May, but had some things come up personally and professionally that sort of messed with my schedule and my ability to keep on track. I'm ready to go back OP and I rejoined online this evening. DH is going to try to keep to the plan, too, knowing that he gets a few more points than I do (4, I think).

I'm ready to be back to eating healthily again and losing like I was back at the beginning of the year!

Starting weight (as of today): 220
First goal: 200
Final goal: 135

Wish me luck!

shellbell516 My WW leader is pregnant and she told me that she only has 12 weeks to get back down to pre-prenancy weight for lifetime! It doesn't make sense though because they only want you to lose no more than 1 pound a week! So after giving birth you can only have gained 12 pounds!

I am having such a hard time eating all my points and my leader insists that I eat all 32 and some of my flex points. Plus when you are nursing they want you to eat 8 fruits and veggies a day!!! I have been losing weight SLOWLY but at least I have been losing. I only lost .6 this week.

Congrats EmilyZA!!!

Well, I know I can't make it back to goal within the 12 weeks. I've got 6 more weeks and 20 lbs to lose.

I've really got to work harder at eating all those fruits and veggies though. I know that's where I have the hardest time following the plan.

I would like to join. I started doing WW about 3 weeks ago. I really love it. Its about the only diet I have not grown to hate. I don't go to meetings I do WW online. I hope that wont be a downfall for me. My husband is also doing WW. Which makes it easier.

Starting Weight: 230
Current Weight: 222
Goal Weight: 160

I also wanted to add I have found some great recipes online. Especially on the WW message board. One time I found a whole post with at least 100 or more posts about new foods or foods people liked. Well tonight we tried one idea. It is Mama Mary's Low Carb Pizza Crusts. One 12 inch pizza crust makes 6 slices of pizza at 1 point per slice. I found it at Wal-Mart. We also got the pizza sauce they make. Which is 1 point for 1/4 cup. I added some Reduced fat cheese, turkey pepp. and some spinach leaves. I calculated my 3 slices as 8 points. I thought it was well worth those points. If you have a pizza craving I highly suggest it. I mean you could probably put things on there and not make it as much as my 8 points. But like I said I am fine with that. Good luck everyone.

I'd like to join! I started WW online (flex) for the first time last Wednesday. Last week I really didn't stick to my points but still logged everything which really opened my eyes to how many points I've been eating on a regular basis. Now I'm starting to try to stick to the plan. I can really see this plan working for me when so many other failed.

Starting Weight: 217 (had a baby 5 weeks ago though)
Current Weight: 215
Goal Weight: 150

Welcome to the newbies!
Things are ok here... I WI yesterday and was down 2.9#! So I was very happy about that. We had DH's grandma's bday party on Sunday and I didn't log my pts, but I was mindful to watch what I ate and take smaller portions. I suppose I really should have journalled but it's a new week now.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Can I join in? For the past 6 months now I have been saying I need to lose these 15lbs that stuck around after having my son, and doing nothing about it- well, it's finally time to do something about it!

I've been on WW more times than I care to admit, .. I actually was on maintenace about 5 years ago and stopped going! So ridiculous, considering I then maintained that weight until I got pregnant with my son, so I have to instead keep repaying to rejoin since I never stuck around to collect Lifetime status.

Anyways, I am going to be doing it on my own since I have all the materials at home, and can't justify the $$ at the moment. Hoping you will all help to motivate me!

Oh, and question- I don't have the books with me, but what are the points (I'll be doing Flex), for 155lbs? TIA!

Had my weigh-in last night. The week before, I had gained 1.8 pounds. So I was back on program with a vengence this past week. I managed to lose not only the weight that I had gained, but an additional 1.6 more, for a total of 3.4 pounds. Woohoo!

That brings my total loss to 16.6 pounds in 10 weeks. Just 3 more to lose to hit my goal.

Moral of the story: Even if you have a bad week, all is not lost. Get right back on program, and you'll be fine! :)

Good luck this week, ladies.
