We went to see this film tonight and thought we were going to see a comedy. Have you seen the trailers? Nick Cage getting pummelled with food and drinks because he's a weather man. Then he takes up archery and walks around with a bow and arrows and he's got newly-found respect... right? Um, no. If you go in with that preconceived notion, as we did; you will not have the right movie experience. This is a drama. There are a couple of humorous parts, but not enough to even try to call this a comedy.

That said... it was a great movie. Michael Caine was absolutely brilliant. My husband said that Nicolas Cage did a really good job, too. Unfortunately, I was keeping an eye out for the comedic parts of the movie to really appreciate his performance. I'll have to go see it again. The boy who plays Mike, Nicolas Cage's son, was the boy who played opposite Hugh Grant in About A Boy. He did a really good job too. His was a tough storyline, and I was impressed by the way they handled it.

I definately recommend the film, but I wanted to warn people - it's a drama, not a comedy!! You'll enjoy it much better knowing that. I had a really rough week and was hoping for a really fun film... even said that walking in - "this better be a damn funny movie". Well, it wasn't, but it was very good.
