Quick question.... well, two actually.... :)

1) Did you have chair covers at your wedding?

2) How much were they per cover?

Also, if you have one, could you please post a pic or two (close up and then far away with a bunch of tables in view) please? Especially if had a color involved...like a pink bow on white covers.

THANKS sooooo much!! :)

I was just looking into the same thing because the chairs where we are having the reception are this dark red color, and my colors are hot pink and granny smith apple green - they don't exactly go together too well. Our reception is in Green Bay, and I just found some Web site of a place there that rents white, ivory or black chair covers for $3 a piece. A colored sash is an extra $2. I would guess it would probably be more expensive in Milwaukee because everything is, but you never know. There are probably a bunch of places to choose from there.

Good luck.

1) Yes.
2) $4 each, in Milwaukee.

I think chair covers are great! When I was planning my wedding, I saw an ad once (for a rental company) that compared a room set up with and without chair covers. I thought there was a noticeable difference, and that's when I was sold on the idea. (Effective ad, hey?) ;) But I like the look. We used white covers with yellow bows - I don't have any good photos scanned.

Neither of these pictures are from my wedding - but they're on the website of the reception hall we used. Same angle, but without and then with covers:

futuremrslp That's kinda stinky the sash is two dollars extra. Were you going to go with a colored sash? I am not sure what I am going to do. I am having the same problem...our reception place has green chairs and Pink and possibly orange are going to be our colors so it wouldn't look that good without the covers.

Then, I have to decide if I don't do white with a white sash, do I have black covers, with a pink bow?

White covers with a pink bow?

Pink covers with a white bow?

Pink covers with an orange bow? (kinda crazy, but maybe kinda neat)

White covers with silver bows???

There are too many options...LOL

I think I might just go the easy route and do white/white....it looks very classy and elegant. :)

BTB Wow - those are great pics...you can really see the difference! I am even more sold on it now!

The other option was to have different chairs, and I just LOVE these chairs, but have no idea how much they would be.....

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b312/ajzimm82/pinkcenterpiece.jpg

and for the record that entire set-up is freakin insanely gorgeous!! I don't even wanna think about how much that would cost per table though.

Here is a pic of white/white but with flowers in the sash - kinda cute.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b312/ajzimm82/flowersinchaircovers.jpg

And lastly, a pic of pink bow with white covers....I am thinking I like this a lot, too....

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b312/ajzimm82/pinkchairbows2.jpg

If anyone has any other pics with different combinations, I'd love to see them. Thanks!

The chairs you love are Chiavari (chivari sp?) ballroom chairs. From what I have seen they usually are anywhere from 6-10$ per chair to rent. This is from places in MA.
If you decided to go with chair covers, I think that with your color scheme probably white chair covers with a colored bow would look best or white on white like you said. I came across a site on another planning board where the chair covers including bow were 2$ and they ship them to you. There is a shipping charge but they also send you return boxes with the paid shipping stamps already included. You have to fill out a form on their site and they will send you a quote. For my wedding I want 150 covers with sash and they quoted me $300 plus the shipping and handling cost will be an additional $116 dollars. That still comes out to less that $3 per cover, actually more like $2.75. The only problem with this company is that they ship them to you and you have to enlist someone to put the chair covers on for you and then at the end of your reception have someone take them all off and put them in the boxes. Anyways, here is the link with all of that info. hope this helps. http://partylinens.org (www.partylinens.org)/ You can look this up on the knot for info on people who have used them. I am still debating whether I want to spend the extra $400.

ETA: I just checked the link and a bunch of the stuff on the site is down. I went checked my email and the quote I got actually came from www.uslinen.net I just checked on knot.com and it looks like some people were having problems getting in touch with partylinens since the hurricane (katrina). One person said that the company was based out of a town right near N.O. so that could be the reason. I am guessing that the reason I got a price quote reply from uslinen even though I sent my request through party linens is perhaps the owner contracted to another company if her chair covers etc were damaged from the hurricane. Hope that makes sense. If you check out the www.uslinen.net you will be able to request a quote from there. ~Susanne

We got chair covers through our site and it was wonderful - it really looked much more formal. We got them through our site, because the price was close enough to getting them from somewhere else, and then dealing with the hassle of putting them on. Kind of silly to save a few dollars, IMO.

For yours, I would probably do white/white, if their color didn't match exactly to what you're using. I brought a sample of our fabric in to match them up :o I think the flower on the back is a great idea and you could bring your colors in that way.

Sorry, this is the best picture I have online. My photographer took an artsy detail shot of the cover/bow, but I gave it to my dad, because he was like 'WTH - Chair Covers???' when the coordinator brought it up. ;) He still gives me heck about it.

We ordered chair covers at the last minute and DH and I still consider it one of our best wedding decsisions. We ordered our offline and paid about $450 for 120 chair covers shipped with silver satin ties. We were sure to take before and after pics because we were AMAZED at the difference!

mel7dog WOW - I think you might have just sold me on the silver with white covers!! That is beautiful!!!!!

SusieQ THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! That site seems to be right within our budget!!! And I do actually have two friends that said they would be willing to put the covers on and off for me since they want me to have them so bad and know how much I want them!! :)

Seb's Kitty I have a feeling my dad is gonna be like "huh?" when I tell him about them, too!:p Excellent point about using white/white since I probably wouldn't be able to get exactly a matching color pink. And the flowers would look great on the backs of the chairs. I am now deciding between that and then the silver on white like mel7dog had. Those tables would look great with a big pink centerpiece in the middle. :)

You guys are all awesome - this is helping me sooo much!!! THANKS!!!!

We had the little gold bamboo ballroom chairs (like the ones you posted below in silver). We paid $6/each (for 200 chairs) through our wedding coordinator. I think she got them through a supplier in DC. I LOVED them and thought they were so worth it.

I am doing pink and green (of course you know this from my journal) but I am using white chair covers with a hot pink sash (The picture you posted is what Im going for...with the hot pink sash and white chinese lanterns). I am getting them for 1.95 and will try them on the chair on Tuesday. I will take pics and post them for you when I get back from it!

I think chair covers REALLY change a room...so I am dead set on having them! I just googled it and found several sites and priced different things that I wanted...you should try that if you have time!

If you can find cheap white covers, tulle doesn't cost much per yard, and you could do your own sashes. Just an idea...

I'm sorry, I don't have a really good picture of my chair covers. But we had white chair covers with a sash that was white with silver swirls on it. We got the same overlay for our table and the cake table. But ours were $2 a chair....they gave us a really good deal because they work with our venue a lot.

If you do a search for wedding chaircover companies online you should be able to find very affordable chaircovers. Some companies offer just the back portion too. The cover covers just the back of the seat not the part where you place your tush. Here are some photos for you and whoever else needs help.

We are getting chair covers, I wanted a sash with color, but the room we have is too busy and would clash, so we are going with the white on white. They were 4.75 per chair, ouch! An extra you don't need, but it's amazing the difference it makes!!

I'm new to this site...how do you insert the pictures??

I had cair covers and i think I paid like 2 a chair. I really didn't wnat them at first but whne i went to my reception hall to pay the final deposit there was a wedding going on and she has chair covers. I was sold on them after that.
It made the room look awesome and really dressed it up.

The chair covers we wanted were $6 per chair and with 250 people, the extra expense did not fit into our budget, so sadly we opted not to get them....
Imagine my disbelief when I walked into the reception venue the day of the wedding and saw the chairs covered!!!! My MIL knew I really wanted them and called the venue a few weeks before and ordered them. They were such a beautiful touch. I say if you can afford it, go for it!!!
Ours were white on white, I don't think I have a great pic of them though. Good luck!!!

hey there,

I had chair covers at my reception. They were a last minute addition when we discovered more money in our budget. We had about 215 covers, with a simple white sash, and I remember the bill being around 900-1k. I know that covered the delivery, set-up and tear down by the company too.
