Wow I didn't realize it's only8 months away either! Have you decided when you're going to prepare to TTC? Maybe an appt with OBGYN?

Ferris, will your children be three years apart?

Hi everyone! I started this thread awhile back and now that it has too many posts, the mods are asking that we start a new thread. Is anyone interested in starting the new thread? If so, that would be great! I'm halfway through my pregnancy with #2. :)

I've never posted in this thread, but I'm starting to get interested since we'll be TTC #2 next month! DD will be 11 months next week. I'd be up for a new thread for sure.

Me too, a new thread would be great, we're planning on TTC #2 this spring...and I have a few questions about when to get off BC....how do we get one started?

Not sure if I should join now or wait until there is a new thread, but here's our info:
name: Pookie (29 in October)
DH: 29 in December
Married: 5/25/02
DS: 3/15/05
TTC #2: either November '06 or June '07

I kind of feel weird about TTC #2. With DS, I was so excited and counted down and really anticipated everything. We ended up having IF, so it took 1 really bad m/c, clomid, tests, etc and 1.5 years to get pg. I have a feeling this time wouldn't take as long, but who knows? #2's timing revolves around me getting into grad school. You can only apply once a year. My chances aren't so good for this next year, so if we find out I don't get in by November we'll start trying. If we don't find out until later, then we'll wait until June. That way #2 will (hopefully) either be born before interviews start next year or after and before schools start the following year. If I do get in, then we'll wait until I'm done with school. We really wanted a 3 year spacing, but planning around life is also important, right? So I guess my long winded question is do you feel that things aren't as exciting this time around? DH keeps making comments about what a handful DS is and how are we going to handle 2. I guess I almost don't feel as excited. Is this normal since we already have been through it/ know what to expect?

Pookie:
Not sure if I can still reply here...I'm looking forward to seriously chatting with you ladies!!!

I've gone off of the pill so we can TTC this spring. I'm anxious about #2 for several reasons:
1.) easier to find care for one child
2.) $$$$$$$$
3.) I often wonder if I'm giving enough alone time for DS(hopefully he'll be just over 2 when DC#2 arrives)
4.) Size of my house...although I'm thankful to have a house, sometimes I worry it'll be too cramped.

Other than that, I'm very excited!!! I often think of planning to TTC#1 was magical and planning to TTC#2 is a bit more pracitical...KWIM?

So is there a new thread yet?

newmommySorry it took me so long to respond. I am a teacher and school has been crazy!! So to answer your question. They will most likely be 3 years apart. If I get preggo the first month I would be due in Feb so they would be a few months shy of being 3 years apart.

I also have some of the same fear about #2, I worry about the $$ and making sure I have given enough alone time with DS.

Weird Periods! I weaned my DS about 1 1/2 months ago and my cycles have been weird since. The first cycle since weaning was 23 and the this time it was 37. Did anyone else have weird cycles after weaning? If you did when did they get "normal". I just hope my cycles don't continue to be long!!

Ferris If we wait until June, it looks like we'll (hopefully) have similiar spacings with our kids. If we get pg right away, mine will be exactly 3 years apart. On the other hand, we might starting trying in November which would make them 2 1/2 years apart, which I'm so not ready for.
Newmommy TTC #2 does seem more practical. I just don't feel ready. I guess I'm not as excited because I remember how rough the beginning was. I think both DH and I would keep pushing it back until we were 50 if we could.;) I know there is never a perfect time, but now that my expectations are more realistic I'm scared, KWIM?

Ferris: no worries, I'm a teacher as well, it can get nuts!!

Originally we did want our children to be more like three years apart....but if we do have three, I worry that the first and last will be too far apart.

Hi,
Not sure if anyone will read this...
I have a question:

We had unprotected sex for the first time this past weekend....and it was the first time since coming off of the pill. According to Babycenter I might have ovulated at that point---if my cycle went back to normal right away(although doubtful)

Well now I am having a ton of CM....and this may be dumb, but is this a sign of pregnancy? I'm getting myself worked up...

TIA

Newmommy It could be a sign of pg, but it could also be a sign of ovulation. It's too early to tell anything yet, although you are very fertile after coming off BCP.

I'm on my first cycle of charting. I had my annual last month and today got a call from my OB's office saying I had "abnormal" cells. They said it was nothing to worry about since I tested negative for HPV, but still a very scary call. Nurse said my OB felt comfortable to wait until my next annual or until I get pg again.

Pookie, that is a very scary call to get. I'm sure if the OB felt comfortable to wait, there should be no worries : )

Thanks for responding to my question, so soon we forget how our bodies work!! I doubt I am preggo, but it's in the back of my mind.

Dh already told me not to go crazy buying tests again!! I wasted so many of them the first time we TTC!!! LOL

How are you charting? Are you using FF?

Newmommy I'm charting on paper. Last time I charted on paper, but when we first started TTC I had a Fertility Monitor. I figure if I don't end up using it this time, I'll sell it. My plan is to chart/ take vitamins for the next 3 months. If I end up finding out I didn't get into grad school, we'll try in November for an August baby. If I get don't find out by then, we'll wait until June to try for another March baby. If I do get into grad school, then we'll wait 2 years until I'm done. There's my plan A, B, and C.:)

It's so hard when you think you could be pg. Anytime I've thought I could be pg I run out and buy tests like crazy. Are you going to test?

Pookie,
I'm not going to test until/if my bbs start to hurt......I honestly doubt I'm preggo, due to the "pull and pray" method.....unless one got away...hmmmmmmmmmmmm

I guess I'll wait to see if the bbs hurt : ) Although my stomach is very crampy today.......I guess I'll have to wait and see : )

Today I got news that my future SIL may not be able to have children : ( So if I am preggo sooner than we planned I'm going to be thankful
