Thanks for all the warm welcomes!! I love seeing some of my October buddies.

AF made her arrival at 2 1/2 months PP even though I'm EBF. My cycle used to be 28 days and now they are all wacky and unpredictable. So, I'm hoping they even out by August when we start trying.

Sorry HGMorgann.

So sorry to everyone who got AF! Phoo on her!

lysh - I was the exact same way....got AF at 10 weeks PP and I EBFed. How wrong is that?? Seriously, I thought I would at least get a couple more months repreive from her than what I did.

QOTD - Sorry if this has already been discussed in the past, but are you hoping baby #2 is a certain gender?

Thanks for the condolences. Today is better. Less cramps too:-)

quotd I don't care. I so love having a girl, but a boy would be fun too. Dh probally would vote BOY though.

subscribing. :)

We plan to start TTC #2 in May (after DD's 2nd bday) instead of late Summer/Fall like we originally planned. We were really lucky w/ DD and got pg our first month trying (I was charting). Not sure if we'll be as lucky this time around but we'll see... :) Looking forward to following along w/ everyone's TTC journey.

QOTD: I am secretly hoping for another girl. I've had the best time w/ my DD and would love to have another one just like her. ;) This coming from someone who always said, pre-kids, that I didn't want girls at all!

HGMorgann: Sorry about the short LP.

QOTD: I would love for #2 to be a girl, but I think having 2 boys would be fun, too.

QOTD - duhhhh, guess I should answer my own question. :o I've always pictured myself with little boys but I secretly thinking having a girl would be fun, just so I can dress her up and put bows in her hair. Is that wrong of me? :D

QOTD- I really wanted a girl for #1 and I got her so for the next one I don't have a prefrence. DH really wants a boy though.

QOTD For our first child I didn't have a preference, but for the 2nd I am really wanting another boy. I realize that putting this "out there" means I'll probably have a girl, but I will still be far from disappointed.

I would love another boy. But I would also like a girl eventually. How about both?

Congrats on your boy ajlanden! I think I see you around LJ.

I'm actually happy - AF arrived today!!!!! This is the first real AF I've had since DD, 6 months ago. I stopped BFing a couple of weeks ago and it didn't take long for her to return. Lady1297 - I think you were right and the mucus I had a few weeks ago was definitely my fertility returning. I'm excited that we get to really start TTC next month!

QOTD - I would prefer a boy (just so I have one of each), but really either would be great.

Good luck everyone.....

Hey Ladies - Just wanted to wish all of you good luck this month - I appreciate all the support you gave me while TTC #2 - I am pretty nervous about having 2 little ones but I am sure it will be fine....best of luck.

QOTD I'll take anything, but a little girl would be so much fun-something different! Of course, I have a TON of boy clothes, so that would be fine too!

Well cycle #3 of what the heck is going on. AF was due on Tuesday but was a no-show. I had a negative test last weekend. Once again, I have no idea what is going on and once again I wish I had charted. Guess conceiving #2 is going to be harder than I thought.

Hello everyone! We are back from our week in Florida and we had such a great time. Lots of family time and plenty of BD-ing at the right time. So very happy. Not so happy to come back to 55 degree weather after enjoying 85-90 degrees for 7 days though.

Welcome to our newcomers! I hope your stay is a short one.

I have no idea what DPO I am since I stopped temping. It stressed me out way too much. I've charted just CM so I'm thinking 1-3 days DPO. Not going to bother testing tillthe following weekend (April 22nd?) I have one flipping test left from last cycle so I want to hold out. :D

That's funny JenJen! :D Must have been the Florida air. ;) That's about the amount we've had too for the previous 3 months.

Lady I hope you're right on that. Though I go back & forth about this next baby. For the past 4 months now (post paci-dumping) DS is waking up 2-3 times a night then getting up for the day around 5:30AM. Today though he was up at 4:30AM & refused to go back to sleep. I can't stand it! It's not the Florida time change either because there he sleep till 7:30AM most days. That would mean that here he should be waking at 6:30. Ho hum. I just keep praying that we'll at least have 9 months to work on DS#1 sleep issues.

Thought I'd post a few pics of DS at Cocoa Beach. It was DH b-day so DS & I rented him a surf board for a few hours so he could surf. DS got a kick out of the board.

I have a feeling we may have already missed the boat this month. I'm not charting, so I don't know for sure. Just a feeling I've got. *sigh* I think we may still try in the next few days, just in case. ;)

Thanks JenJen. :)

I'm just not feeling it this month. Maybe that's a good thing. The past 2 cycles I really thought I was pg with so many FPS I could hardly contain myself. Now, nothing. I remember feeling that way when I was pg with DS. I was super calm during the 2WW, not antsy at all to test. Same now. I'm prepared for the BFN. I just don't think it's going to be that simple this time. I'm going to try to hold out till next Thursday to test since I'm really not sure on the exact O date.

Me, too Bucktown! Usually by this point, I'm crampy and irritated and just feeling major PMS. I do feel a little bloated, but not nearly as bad as I usually do. Not getting my hopes up, though.
Good luck to you!

Can I join?

Name: Sebski
Married: 10/27/2002
DS#1: Joseph, 11/10/2005
TTC: May/June '06 -- Charting

Yes, I have a 5 month old son and we're already planning on TTC in the next couple of months. My mom started menopause at 33 and my 32 year old sis has been TTC on her own for the past 1.5 years w/ no luck. She's now starting IVF and has been diagnosed as pre-menopausal w/ a low/bad egg supply. As a result, we decided to move things up in our family planning spectrum. We would like to have 3 (or more) kiddos and I'm turning 31 this summer... plus, I'd like to keep the preggo ball rolling and get my body completely for myself in a few years.

I started temping 3mos ago and didn't have any signs of O'ing. So, I started weaning and *think* I had a visit from AF on 4/1. It was veeery light, almost like spotting so I wasn't sure. But, it lasted 5 days, so I'm counting it as AF. I *think* I'm O'ing now based on my temps but I'm not sure since they've been all over the place since DS still wakes a couple of times at night. I think I have to start taking my temp at 3am... that's the longest stretch of sleep that I get from DS. After he eats at 3am, he'll usually get up for the day around 5am or 5:30.

Here's my chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/8302a), but I'm not sure how to put it in my signature.

Tinkerbell, I remember you were going to test on vacation. Soooooooooooooo??? :p As for the BD-ing, DH hasn't gotten any since. ;) Thanks for the compliment on my son, too. Come to think of it, I should take those down now.

Sebski, Welcome to our group! My Aunt had 3 girls in less than 3 years (all separate pregnancies). She said it was hard at times but well worth it. I wish your sister luck on the IVF!

jmvan, are you getting the itch to test yet?

This morning I just realized I'm 10 DPO today. I suppose it could be 9 DPO, too. Now is when I start to get a bit crazy. I've decided that using FMU will be best so I'm *pretty* sure I can hold out till the morning. But, I do have that one lone stinkin' test sitting in the waaaaay far back of my bathroom sink. I really don't want to buy a whole bunch of tests this month so I'm going to try with all my might to wait till Wednesday AM. Only 1 more morning to go. Can she do it? Yes, she can! {Ummm, I think so}

Congratulations TinkerBell! I am sooooo flippin' happy for you! When you said you had a 'great trip' I kinda figured. I see those beautiful lines!!!!!

My youngest brother played 'Junior A' hockey in Casper, WY. He was in the start up season there, geeze about 13 years ago. He had a wonderful experience and his host family was fantastic. {not that that really pertains to your trip but I see ajlanden lives in WY. Maybe she is familar??

I just couldn't take it anymore. I took my last test shortly after posting here that I wouldn't. It's a BFN. I'm pretty bummed out about it but kinda knew that it would be negative. I know it's still kinda early to be sure it's negative but I'm not too hopeful. Gosh, now I gotta keep having all that sex. ;)

I seriously think that Morgann doesnt want another brother or sister! She always wakes up right before! Then last night, we were like JUST ABOUT to well, ya know, and our buildings fire alarm goes off! Flashing lights, sirens, and fire trucks...not the best turn on. Soooo, we are probally out this month unless I O late or O-ed early. I need to chart again.....I guess.

Hey all, we are getting ready to TTC #2. This effort will be somewhat hampered by my DH's work schedule. He is home for 3-4 weeks and then gone 2-3 weeks. Right now it looks like June will be the next chance for us to try, as I'm pretty sure he is going to miss the May window of opportunity since he left today and I'm on CD 8. By the time he gets home I'll already be on CD 21 so it's pretty much a no go for this month!!
We have a 1 year old (well, she'll be 1 in a week) and we would like them to be 2 years apart! It took us about 6 months (and a m/c) to get pg. with DD so I'm thinking it won't be happening right away for use anyhow.

Congratulations Tinkerbell! That is so terrific!

Since this is my first real cycle post BFing, I'm curious to see if I'll O around the right time. I bought an OPK. I took one test on Sunday (just curious). Of course it showed I wasn't ready. If my timing is right, I would O on Friday. I think I'll take a test tomorrow and then again on Friday and Saturday to see what changes. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for the welcome! :)

Quick question before I have to run start dinner...

Did you all lose the baby weight before starting TTC #2? I'm still 7lbs off from my pre-preggo weight and am nervous about adding to that w/ a 2nd pregnancy. I'm trying to lose it before we officially *start* TTC, but it seems to be almost impossible to shed these last few pounds.

jmvan74
04-19-2006, 05:51 AM
Sebski: I'm still about 8lbs above my pre-preg weight. It would have been nice to get back down, but I know I haven't made the best eating choices, but I'm not going to let those extra pounds discourage me from making a new baby. ;)
I have since started eating better again, but that is more in hope of helping my body be ready .

Welcome magdesilver!

QOTD: I fluctuate between 10-13 lbs over my pp weight & it totally pisses me off. Ever since my damn thyroid came out I can't drop it. Of course, if I'd stop making the chocolate chip cookies I suppose that would help. Last week (since the weather has been a peach) I started walking DS to our old park which is about a 3 mile walk there & back. I try hard to walk briskly so I figure between the distance & pushing the stroller + a 30 lb kid has gotta help something. I also started watching what I eat as of Monday.

Brink

QOTD - I'm still 7lbs over Pre-P weight. I know I could lose it if I really tried. I wanted to get back to Pre-P weight, but part of me is satisfied with where I'm at and I figure I'll just get back on my diet after #2 is born. Hopefully that will happen sometime soon, or I'm going to start feeling more guilty about the 7lbs.

Welcome magdesilver!

QOTD - I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but I would like to lose 5-10 more before getting pregnant with #2. I gained 40 pounds (did I just confess to that??) and I don't want to repeat that again! It just wasn't cool to watch my a$$ grow out of maternity pants!

Hi ladies. I would like to join. We have been TTC#2 this month, but definetly didn't time it right since I stared AF yesterday. My DD is already 16 months old, and I am thinking of buying the ovalation kit.

Sorry for AF jmvan. What a biatch.

Welcome purpleorchids. Happy BD-ing!

Brink I don't have a clue about OPK's but would love it if someone could share this info. I think I'm going to try those this next month as well.

BTW JenJen I gained 42 lbs with DS! :o I went thru a giant cookie/large blue gatorade (per night) period till I stepped on the scale at my monthly appointment. I was obviously under the wrong impression that pg women can eat whatever they like.

Brink: I've never used an OPK, but now I'm curious. Maybe I'll pick one up this afternoon while I'm out. Hmmm.... Well, if it works like a PG test then the lines may not appear the same darkness. Does it follow the rule of a line is a line?? I'm not sure.

Welcome Purpleorchids! Good luck to you.

Bucktown: Thanks for the sympathy. I just knew it was coming. I told DH I knew I was getting it today, even if I wasn't expecting it until the weekend.

Bucktown

Here is some very basic info on OPK's I found at www dot bellaonline dot com .

OPK’s – Also called “Ovulation Predictor Kits”. These are tests that detect LH (Lutenizing Hormone) in the urine. LH is released in large amounts (LH Surge) within 36 hours before ovulation occurs. These come in two different tests… Test Strips and Midstream Tests. The Test Strips are dipped into a collected urine sample (Cannot be held in a urine stream). The Midstream Tests are used for the urine stream rather than a urine sample (although both can be done with this type). OPK’s cannot be taken with morning urine, best time for testing would be late afternoon about 4pm – 8pm (16:00 – 20:00). A test should be started on day 5 of the woman’s cycle to make sure ovulation does not occur early within the cycle. There are two lines like a pregnancy test (The “Control Band” and the “LH Band”). If the LH Band is equal or darker in color as the Control Band then ovulation is most likely to occur within 36 hours. If the LH Band is lighter than the Control Band then the LH Surge has not been detected and this is considered a negative result.

Pros
36-hour notice
Easy to use
Accurate LH detector
Evening testing

Cons
Urine samples/streams can get messy
Results may not be clear
Cannot reuse tests
Can get costly

jmvan74 - Oh shoot! Boo, hiss to AF!!

purpleorchids - Welcome!

Bucktown - You're my kind of lady! I still eat at least a candy bar a day...but I rationalize that I'm still eating for two since I'm still breastfeeding. You think eating a candy bar a day might be why I can't lose that last 5-10 pounds. :p

OPK - I was in Walgreens the other day and saw these OPKs that are digital! It comes up with a little happy face if you are ovulation, so no more trying to figure out if a line is darker than another line. It was mucho more expensive than the normal test, but might be something I look into in the future. Our plan of action for now is every other day have DH get his rocks off, while I just lay there. Do we win the award for most romantic couple ever? :D

JenJen I can't stop laughing about this. My Gosh, I'll probably be in church & remember this & bust out into uncontrollable giggles!

This afternoon DS & I went to the suburbs to meet my Aunt for lunch. We finished eating and DS went exploring (within my view). All of the sudden I hear a blood curdling scream (DS) and see him at the end of the ramp head first into the tables & chairs. There it was, trip number 2 to the ER to get his head glued together for the second time in 6 months. Wouldn't have been too bad if it wasn't the start of rush hour and I was in the suburbs trying to get back into the City (we live downtown) and get to the Children's Hospital. Because of the traffic, I made the decision to stop at a hospital off the expressway (another good one, just not exclusively for kids) and waited. And waited. And waited. I asked a woman who was sitting how long she had been waiting. 3 hours! So, I scooped him up, got back in the car & headed for Children's. Rush hour is now in full swing & I spend the next hour cursing DH for making me raise my family in the City where I can't even get my kid timely medical attention.

We finally got there at 4:20pm (almost 2 hours since the fall). We didn't leave till 7:30pm but he's all glued up and ready to go. On our way out the docs said to us 'We can get you a punch card for the parking garage and save you a few bucks! ;) ' Funny guys!

Hope I wasn't providing TMI about DH and I's baby-making style as of late. Hope noone was offended by it! I figure if anyone would understand it would be others with little children who are dead dog tired when it comes to BDing. :D

Tomorrow we are heading to DH's alma mater to watch football. I'm soooo excited. NOT! Anyway, it will be DS's first football game. Hope he is good as it is going to be a long day for all of us! Have a great weekend everyone!!

I went for my annual OB appt yesterday. She gave me a script for the chewable pre-natals, so that is good. She said to TTC for a few months and if it didn't work, come back and she would write me a script for Clomid.

I am on Day 15 right now and my OPK hasn't gotten darker. I was a little crampy yesterday and it felt like ovulations cramps. But, according to that little kit, I'm not ready yet. I hope I'm not missing my window by relying on the kit. We'll see. I'll test everyday for the next few days and see if anything changes.

Good luck everyone!

QOTD - We are on our first official TTC cycle.

I really think I missed my time this month. I took the OPK on CD 10 - negative. Then I took again on CD 13, 14, 15, 16. The 13-14 showed with a line a little over have as dark as the baseline. Then on day 16 you can barely even see the second line. I think I messed up and should have tried on CD 13-14. Oh well, we DTD this morning. That is our one chance for the month. I don't have my hopes up since the OPK was negative, but we'll see.

Brink - Here's hoping you found the window of opportunity this month. :)

Bucktown - Sorry about the BFN. :(

jmvan74 - LMAO! That is too funny....a woman on a mission!

QOTD - We are right now still TTA. We plan on TTC starting in July.

I know JenJen, isn't it funny how we get when we are trying to make a baby. It really is not romantic. Since I'm not charting...I've decided that this month we will BD every day or other day depending on how I feel from CD 14 until CD 21 ( before DS was born, I O'd on CD 21). Keeping my fingers crossed this month!

TTC length- we haven't prevented since DD was born 2/26/05. We had problems TTC before. I started the herbal route I did to concieve her this month. We kinda TTA for a few months after AF arrived. I am still BF, so that might hinder conception for us too since we have prior issues.

Hi, I’d like to join in. DD just turned 1, and we're hoping for #2 soon.
QOTD: DD weaned almost a month ago, but I’m still waiting for my first PP AF. So I guess we’re currently on cycle #0.

ETA my info...
Name: BusyBee
Married: 8/02
DD #1: 4/05
TTC: since 4/06

Hi, guess it's time I should join in here.
Me: lil_nance
Married: 10/12/02
DS: 7/15/05
TTC #2: soon (July?)

We originally planned on TTC when DS turned 9mo. Now we are thinking of waiting until his first bday in July. I go back and forth between wanting to be pg NOW and waiting. I'm still nursing 2-3times a day but AF has been back since 4mo PP. So far my cycles seem fairly regular although I don't chart and I keep forgetting to even note when AF starts.

Thanks Ladies for the warm welcome.

Hi ajlanden – I do remember you from the WC board. Congrats on #2. I will have to come by your journal.

Bucktown – Sorry to hear about your DS. I hope he is feeling better. I can’t believe how long the lady th at was in front of you waited for. That’s just crazy to sit there and have to wait that long!!

Jenjen0713 – It is so tiring when you have little ones. BDing should be fun not like work, which it has felt like and I would rather get some sleep instead.

Welcome BusyBee and Lil Nance.

OPK – My girlfriend just gave me her OPK’s that she hasn’t used. And she did say they worked for her, she is pg with her 1st. I can’t wait to give them a try this month. It would be cute to have the happy face ones though.

QOTD: I just finished our second cycle.

Welcome BusyBee & Lil nance!

purpleorchids, yes, that wait is rediculous. Another reason why I hate large metropolitan living. DS is doing better. I love Dermabond. If anyone's kids need stitches ask the docs about Dermabond (glue) instead. It heals so nicely & really minimizes scarring. Plus, there is little extra care to take with it other than avoiding it soak.

Still waiting for AF to show. I've been having some nasty cramps but she just won't come. I'm guessing tonight or tomorrow AM. I will be getting the smiley OPK's this cycle, plus I'm going to chart again. Those smilies sure are expensive but I don't want to rely on myself trying to figure out if the lines are equal in color or whatever they are suppose to do.

Bucktown
04-25-2006, 06:33 PM
Back again. I've been having this really weird type of cramping? but doesn't feel like cramping but more like a surge of pain that has been coming & going all day. IF I was pg already I would think it was ectopic. At least this is what I would imagine an ecopic would feel like (but mine is not constant). To make things more wierd, around 6pm I got A TON of EWCM. Now I have that glimmer of hope that maybe I didn't O yet since I wasn't temping this month.

I went (ran) to Walgreens this evening & bought the Clearblue Easy Easy Read Ovulation Tests ~ the smiley ones. ON SALE FOR $31.99 (at least here they were) But, you have to hold your pee for 4 hours which puts me at 11:30pm here.

Is this wild goose chase worth it for me to lose an hour & a half of precious sleep? And if it is I'm sure DS will get up at 4 AM for the day and make me miserable. What to do, what to do.

I had forgotten how long the 2WW is...... Even though our chances are very slim this month, it is still hard to wait.

Bucktown - curious to see if you tested. Might as well stay up and do it, since you would probably lie in bed wondering about it half the night anyway.

Welcome BusyBee & Lil nance

Bucktown
04-26-2006, 09:06 AM
Brink the 2WW is a killer isn't it? I did test last night but only made it to 3 hrs & 15 min. The test came back with no smiley so either I am really not getting ready to O or I didn't wait long enough & also diluted my pee with too much water. I also skipped the BD-ing. I was too freakin' tired. I have an increase in CM but not really creamy though not truely EW. Still no AF either. I really wish I had temped this month. I tell ya, I just can't win.

I've heard you can test for PG with OPK's. Anyone know about this? My OPK did show 2 distinct lines but I guess the one wasn't dark enough for a smiley.

So, I have taken several of the OPKs and they do look very similar to a BFP. Well, I had one sitting out on the coffee table last night (I know, why????) and the in-laws were over. I'm sure they saw it and just didn't say anything. They wouldn't know the difference between the OPK and a PG Test, so they are probably waiting to hear the "good news". Guess they'll be waiting a while.......

04-27-2006, 09:22 AM
No news here. I still have no AF but have not tested with a pg test either. I just flat out refuse. I have one test left but I seriously doubt if I'll use it. I think my body is just re-adjusting itself. I had read somewhere awhile ago that every 6 or 7 years your cycles go crazy & re-adjust. Figures that mine would happen while TTC.

As for the 2 lines on my OPK they weren't matching colors. The test line was much lighter than the control, so I seriously doubt it's anything.

Does anyone have some good news to report????

Bucktown - I'm so excited to hear someone is using the smiley face OPK. You've got to take a picture when you get that smiley face and post it because I want to see what it looks like! :)

Last night, I thought I better make sure DH and I were on the same page when it comes to TTC #2. Here's the conversation:
Me: "So, I thought we should set a definite time when we want to TTC #2."
DH: "I thought you would just tell me when."

Good luck Bucktown!!! At least having Af here tells you that your body is working and that you can put some serious pressure on her to not return for a year or 2- depending on if you BF or not. ;)

Dropping off some baby dust to all of you TTC this month! We had our first OB appointment yesterday and got to see the heartbeat. My EDD is 11/30/05, but with a repeat c-section planned, baby should be arriving a week or so earlier 11/23 (that is my doc's plan, at least). So, we really do have a turkey in the oven. ;)

I'm such a planner that TTC almost becomes like a game to me at times to see how fast I can get pregnant and see if I can interpret all my fertile signs. I can't wait to start again!

jmvan74 - "Crack down"...hhhmmm.. that sounds kinda kinky! :p

neenbean - I'm going to pass on rolling around in the baby dust for now as I don't think I would be a very good pregnant woman in January! Hopefully, you are spreading some potent stuff and we can kick a few people out of here! :D Congrats on your little turkey!

Thank you girls for your condolences. Really though, I was over it last Saturday when I tested negative on 14DPO. I can't believe how long my LP's have gotten.

Sebski the smiley OPK's are relatively new and are produced/named by Clear Blue Easy ~ Easy Read Ovulation Kits When you get a + OPK it's suppose to give you a smiley face instead of deciphering the color of the two lines (ie, is the test line as darker or darker than the control?). I've never used OPK's before & thought I would overanalyze the color too much so that is why I chose the smiley's. How can you misread that? :p I also looked for them at our Target who didn't carry them either but have found them at Walgreen's, CVS Pharmacy, or through Drugstore.com. The later has some shipping delays (I've read) so I wasn't going to miss my window waiting for UPS!

Neen Thanks for updating us on your progress. Very happy to hear your bun is toasting!

Lvella When my DH asked my Dad's blessing to marry me my father gave him only one bit of advice. 'A happy wife is a happy life'. DH repeats that almost everytime he agrees with me on a major purchase. :D

ETA~ Re: FF, I decided to reorder for a few reasons. I like the count down of DPO's even though I can really do it myself. I like to daydream of possible due dates with their VIP Due Date Calculator (lame I know). I love that they commiserate by scrutinizing my temps with me to make me even more crazy. And lastly I'm superstitious (I conceived DS while a VIP on FF so maybe that's why I'm not getting pg w/ #2 I'm sooooooo kidding here! :p

Well, I'm awaiting AF's arrival, although DH thinks maybe no friend thsi month! Glad he's hopeful!! I decided to take down the baby changing station in the play room as a way to make things happen!! DS hasn't used it in months and it was just collecting junk, so I dismantled it and as I did I cried. I so wanted to leave it up knowing I would be using it again soon. But alas, away it goes to the attic. I'm planning on getting serious about temping and fetility signs and everything this month. I'm fine with a Valentine's Day baby!!

Well, AF arrived on Saturday - one week early! So, I'm not sure what is going on with my body. I don't temp and I tried the OPKs but obviously I O'd way before I thought, so I probably wasn't even testing at the right time.

We had dinner with MIL last night and I said something that if you read into it could have been a hint that I was PG. I think she has been waiting for something since she saw that OPK last week. You should have seen her face light up and she got all excited. I had to burst her bubble and tell her we were not PG. I didn't explain that what she saw was an OPK (since I don't know for sure if she saw it) so she looked a little confused when I told her no. I'll let her stew a while.......

hi everyone.
i'm new here :)
dh and i officially decided to ttc for #2.
we have a baby who is 8months old. i just started charting and i'm getting nervous. when we charted for #1 i had such clear signs of when i was Oing. this time my temps are all over the place and i have zero CM at all.
i'm really tryign to drink more water and stay positive.
for those that have used OPK - do you find they really work?
i'm thinking i dont want to waste the $$ just because my cycle is all over the place and i dont want to use it when i *think* i am Oing because i dont think i know for sure when i am???! if that makes sense.

brink your MIL is probally super confused!

lady Sorry about AF.

Well, AF came for me this morning. My cycle was longer using Vitex so thats good. Getting AF every 22ish days stinks. I got PG with Morgann 2 years ago this time, so I am hoping that maybe MAY is just a good month for us:-) Another Feb. baby would rock. I really enjoyed being pregnant during that timeframe. I need to buy more herbs/supplements...Sigh. I was hoping that we'd just get a baby easy the second time around...but its okay.

lady & Brink Man, sorry to hear about AF.

There is a thread on FF called 'Easy First, Tough Second'. There are many many women who got pg with #1 super fast & are having a really hard time getting pg w/ #2. I think the average is 14 months??? I know for DH & I #1 was conceived 2nd cycle. This time we are on cycle 4. My BF had one he!! of a time getting pg w/ #1 (3+ YEARS!) and first round she got pg with #2. I pray that none of us have to try 14 months. :(

Welcome KiKi! May your stay be short & sweet. I really don't have any advice on the OPK's but I *think* in addition to my smiley OPK's I'm going to Target this afternoon and get the Answer OPK test strips. There are 20 strips per box and cost around $17. This way I can start alittle early and not feel too guilty about the $$$, then when we get closer to when I think I'm O-ing I'll switch to my 'golden OPK's. :p Good Luck!

kiki - I've always heard to take the temp first thing upon waking...so I would use the first temp and not the second one you took a few minutes later. I think night wakings can have some impact on rocky temperatures or it might be time for a new BBT. I'd say get a new BBT and just try your best to take your temp at the same time each morning.

ahhhhhhh i promised myself i wasnt going to be obessive about this but i can feel it creeping back......:o

kiki~ Some days this happens to me too. I'm not sure why as my BBT is only 4 months old. Sometimes I wake up super hot (despite trying to where the same thing to bed everynight) and when I take my temp I know it's off, so I throw off the covers and sit for 5 minutes then take my temp again and although it's not where I know it should be, I record that. Maybe that's why I'm missing the freaking boat!

I also told myself I wouldn't get obsessed but here we are, 4 months later and mildly obsessed. At least I'm not waking 10 times a night waiting to temp anymore. I get some good sleep now that DS is back to STTN for the most part!

lady~ I wish I was kidding. I couldn't believe it. There is even a woman there who is on her 23 cycle. :( I did a search on this and found some research calling it 'secondary infertility'. BUT only if TTC hasn't happened within 1 year for women under 35; 6 months for women 35+ Secondary meaning you have succesfully became pg, carried to term & delivered. The article also said that after many tests of these couples it was determined that they were just lucky getting pg with #1 & the odds were totally against them.

For me, I am 35 & we're 2 months short of that 6 month mark. I'm pretty positive that we will NOT take medical action to get pg again. The only intervention would be making sure my TSH levels are appropriate since I have no thyroid. If it is God's Will, then so be it. I will be sad though, for my son (& us too!).

I can hear the words of an OB echoing in my head back in '91. I was 20, in college and was in the hospital because I had a ruptured ovarian cyst that leaked a pint of blood into my stomach. The OB said I would have problems getting pg in the future but since I was not trying to become pg it wasn't an issue at that point. I thought we were in the clear when we conceived DS in 2 cycles. Now, I think it was a fluke. We were just super lucky. I hope I'm wrong. :-(

I'M SURE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ANY OF YOU, I AM JUST THINKING OUT LOUD as it helps me to come to terms with me possibly not having anymore babies. After all, I am 35 :D When did that happen????

Lady Forgot to say I was sorry for the one way gratification. I've trained my DH that if I don't get any, no-one gets any. :)

Jen Jen I was talking to DH the other night about our 'plan of action ' this month & he gets all excited saying 'Just think of all that s.e.x. we'll be having'. I rolled my eyes and said 'oh great' to which he was truly hurt. I had to backtrack telling him that I was just disappointed with the BFN's so he forgave me. That was a close one! :)

Alright, I'm coming out. I've been lurking for awhile, since I'm awful at keeping up with groups like this. But the 2ww is killing me, so I figured what the heck!

Name: Jilly
Married: 10/05/02
DS #1: 03/26/05
TTC: Now (first month)

After reading some of the discussion about problems with getting preggo the second time, I bumped up a thread in the Pregnancy forums to satisfy my curiosity. Our DS blessed us with only one month of kinda trying, so now I'm jaded.
Other than that, I had to take Provera to get my period back. It never returned after I stopped BFing in March. The doc said it could take 6 mos, and we weren't willing to wait that long.
I "think" I O'ed around 4/26. The OPKs never registered, but I had crazy things going on in my womanly region, that just had to be an O. And plus I have no idea what my cycles are like now. So it's just killing me. I'm such a planner.

Anywho...that's my story. And I apologize in advance for being a bad group buddy. :)

yeah so i am officially obessed. instead of waiting til after work to grab a new BBT - i went at lunch.
:p

yeah i'm wearing the same stuff to bed and have the same blankets too but like this morning i was dying i was hot.

i'm just nervous i want to get a BFP soon. i'm 33 (almost 34) so i dont want to waste any time.

Why oh why couldn't flannel turn men on in the same manner as satin and lace???
What's sick is, if it's the right flannel, it might just turn my hubby on. He has this idea that I should get camo teddies...uh, I don't think so....

Bucktown: *hugs* It's probably just a fluke that it's taking a little longer this time. Don't stress or it will become even harder to get pg. :( We're going to be moving in to cycle 4 soon, too, but I highly doubt it's any fertility issue. ;)

Welcome to the group Jilly. Hopefully, you're just passing through.;)

Busy thread the last few days. We were out of town and then I've been swamped at work.

So, here is my deal this month. AF arrived on Saturday a week early. This may get to be TMI so warning if you keep reading. It was a really light AF (basically 4 days of brown that I only needed lightdays for). So, as of yesterday I was still feeling a little crampy. Then yesterday I started having CM that was still tinged brown from AF. Because of the cramping, I thought maybe I was O'ing really early. So, I took the OPK this morning and there are two very distinct equally dark lines. So, could I really be O'ing even though AF only arrived 6 days ago???????? Either way, we will DTD tonight just to make sure we don't miss our opportunity, but doesn't that sound crazy?

HGMorgann
05-04-2006, 01:46 PM
brink are you sure it was AF and not early pg. spotting?

Bucktown
05-04-2006, 06:19 PM
Brink sounds like you may be pg to me, too! Have you tested w/ pg test yet???? OPK's can also come back positive if you are pg. I'll be thinking of you tonight! GL!

jilly
05-04-2006, 07:56 PM
Thanks for the welcoming.

Brink I think you should really take a PG test too. I'm keeping fingers crossed that it wasn't AF.

Bucktown I hope you're feeling better. I'm pulling for you and that maybe your temping has been off and that one of these next two cycles (preferably the first) will be the one.

So I broke and took a test today, of course it was negative. I don't know why I'm so obsessed. Last time I thought there was no chance I was pregnant, so I didn't even think about testing until CD 30, when I thought, hmmm where's AF? The thing practically lit up.

This time, I'm freakin' counting the minutes. Part of it is DH will be out of town this weekend, so I wanted to get a BFP before he left. It would kill me to have to wait until he gets back to tell him the news (don't want to do it over the phone while he's drunk at a bachelor party in Vegas). But there I go again expecting a BFP. I gotta quit doing that. I'm setting myself up. Especially since I have no previous cycles to base anything on.

Brink
05-04-2006, 08:14 PM
Thanks for all the good pg vibes. I don't think so though. I was wondering the same thing myself so I didn't pee for like 4 hours this afternoon and broke down and took a pg test - negative!

So, DH and I will DTD tonight based on the OPK and see where that goes.

I've heard of implantation spotting, but I always thought that was just like a one day, one spot kind of thing. Can it really last over 4 days and feel like a really light AF?

Jilly - How many DPO are you?

jmvan74
05-05-2006, 07:00 AM
Brink: Maybe it was just breakthrough bleeding before you O'd. Some women do get light "periods" for more than the first month during pregnancy. I don't think it's highly common, but could happen. Best of Luck!

Sorry about the BFN, Jilly.

Okay, here's where I'm at. I'm CD 15. We've been on an every other day schedule since CD8, but we skipped two days b/c I went out with friends last night, and now I'm obsessing that I missed the window or something! LOL! However, this morning I had some serious ECM. I'll have to attack DH when he gets home and hope we didn't miss the O. I really don't want to break out the thermometer, but I'm getting obssessive!

jenjen0713
05-05-2006, 08:26 AM
jmvan - Ooohhh...that sounds promising. Good luck tonight!

Brink - (scratching my head)...you've got me. I don't know what to think...part of me thinks it might be implantation, but then another part of me thinks it might be an early O. Are you taking your temperature by chance?

jilly - Welcome!

I can finally come out of the closet...I'm totally obsessive when it comes to TTC. I'm sick in that I love to put my temperatures into fertility friend each day and see the little crosshairs that come up when I O. Heck, I even like putting in when we BD. I'm so glad there are others of you that are just as obsessive as I am.

So, after reading about how it may be harder to conceive #2, I think I might be moving up our TTC to June. We used the last condom we had in the house this week and I refuse to go buy anymore, so I think that settles it.

Brink
05-05-2006, 10:29 AM
jenjen0713 - congrats on officially starting to TTC - now you can be even more obsessed with the rest of us!

jmvan74 - Have fun attacking DH tonight!

No, I have not temped. Just sounds like a pain to me and since we have only officially been TTC for one cycle, I'm just not ready to go there yet.

We DTD last night, and then we will again tomorrow hoping to catch our window. I'm just wondering if I O'd so close to AF, would it even be viable......

jilly
05-05-2006, 11:04 AM
Brink I'm 12 DPO...I think...I never registered on the OPK, and this is my first cycle since 2004. So it's really a crapshoot. I'm hoping that once I know more of what to expect, I won't be so obsessive about it. Eh...who am I kidding.

Bucktown
05-05-2006, 12:05 PM
Happy Friday my fellow TTC junkies! Me too! I'm obsessed and proud! My mom/aunties think I am waaaaaaaaaaay crazy for the things I'm doing but once they hear #2 is on the way they'll forget all about it.

Brink hmmmmm. I think you can absolutely be O-ing that early. There were a few months where I was o-ing on CD8. I think it was like that for 4 months??? I'd give it another go tonight! ;)

JenJen I'm glad you can talk openly & honestly re: your addiction. While TTC #1, I would get up within 10 min. of DTD and log into FF to record our business. Cuddling? Please. I wanted that BFP! :p

jmvan I think that if you have EWCM you should be on the edge of O-ing. You should see none (of that type) once that eggy goes. As stated previously, I'd give it another go tonight! ;) .

Jilly sorry for that BFN. I hate seeing those. Thank you also for your support. I hope I can do the same for you!

I've been peeing on my OPK's now for, today will be day 3. They are all negative & I knew they would be but I just want to be sure. I am doing them at 6:20 pm which means I'm holding my pee from 2:20pm till 6:20pm. Oh. My. Gosh. This is a killer. I never realized how difficult it can be to hold it for 4 hours. I get a line, but not nearly as dark as it should be. DH & I are DTD now everynight till I get that confirmation. He's loving it.

Also, I got another goofy temp this morning so I threw out my BBT & went and bought a new one. It's so aggravating that my temps fluctuate that much. I wonder if it's because I'm still spotting this brown gunk.

Hey KiKi did the new thermometer help with your temps stabalizing???

Also worth noting, I had my TSH levels redrawn yesterday since 8 weeks ago I had my meds reduced (I was way over medicated to the point of HYPERthyroid). I am now within 'normal range' & told my endo that I was still not PG & he said that the new levels should correct that problem. But no guarantees. Why can't he guarantee me getting pregnant!? :p I wonder if being that overmedicated was why my cycles were 26 days and now have returned to 'my normal' 30-31 days. I'm hoping this will work!

Well, Friday night went Bust! DS was not cooperative. He must have known. :( We tried Saturday, but it could have been too late by then. I guess we just wait and see now. With all of the BD'ing I've done I better get a BFP!

Obsessive; Hi, my name is Julie and I am an obsessive TTCer. I am trying so hard not to temp, but the obsessive side of me is egging me on.... Grr... to temp or not to temp, that is the question? :p

Bucktown, That's great that your levels have "normalized". Good luck this cycle!

Brink, Any news? Have you seen any signs of a "real" AF?

i think its better - i have more 'normal' temps.
still no O yet. eeer.
i picked up some OPK - i have tested the past three days - all negatives. i might save the other 2 sticks for later this week. those are expensive!
i might hold off and test again when i think i have better CM.
of course thats hard b/c i feel like that is nonexistent. i picked up a big thing of green tea so hopfeully that will help!

kiki - I got pregnant with DS on my first cycle of using green tea. I had no EWCM until I started to drink it.

jmvan - The first step in solving the problem is admitting you have a problem. ;) I love that there are others out there just as obsessive as me. BTW, you totally should temp! Oh, and post your fertilityfriend chart so I can not only obsess about my chart but everyone else's! :D

Brink - I'm with jmvan...any news?

Bucktown - Once again, I see you and DH have been getting busy! :p Have you gotten a smiley face yet?

Brink
05-08-2006, 09:19 AM
Well, I'm definitely not PG. No sign of real AF, but I'm pretty sure that was it and I O'd very early. We BDed on one of the days that the OPK said I was ready. Then just to test it out, several days later I took another OPK and it was negative. So, definitely not a PG. So, hopefully I caught the window with that one BD. We'll see in a few weeks. Thanks for asking.

jmvan74 - sorry your DS was not cooperative - funny how they just "know" isn't it?

So, when you get a positive on your OPK, should you DTD once per day? I had heard that you should do every other day to make sure the little suckers had time to build up. Is that not true?

jmvan74
05-08-2006, 09:54 AM
Kiki: Glad the temps are looking better.

LOL! Jenjen. I was going to temp this morning just to see where I was at and I completely forgot. I'm not sure I can be responsible enough to temp. HEHE! If I do, I'll be sure to share. ;)

Brink: There's a whole thread in family planning about DTD everyother day vs every day. I'll bump it up for you. It basically says if you are a normally fertile person everyday is fine and actually leads to more little swimmers waiting for the eggy than every other day does.

ETA: I wrote pg thread when it should have been family plannning.

How was everyone's weekend???

The weather was beautiful here so we were outside quite a bit.

jmvan I'm telling you, those kids do know! There were many times where DS interrupted (when doing the morning deed). Not too fun. PM works out much better. Crossing my fingers that your DH has super swimmers!

JenJen No! I haven't gotten a smiley yet. We have been getting down quite a bit again. Saturday night DH came home from rehearsal with a horrible headache. I made him DTD anyway. I felt so bad for making him suffer because he looked like his head was going to explode. Oh well. We all have our sacrifices.

Brink I was considering the 2x's a day thing but then decided against it because DH is 39. Not that we have any reason to believe his boys have diminished but still, he is 39! Hope you caught that early little egg. Little devil! ;)

Kiki~ I never had any EWCM either till DS was born. Now it's absolutely rediciulous how much I've got. I hope the green tea works wonders for you!

I think I had my thermal shift this morning. Then again, I have more tons o' EWCM today too. Today it is tinged with blood. Odd. I did more research on OPK's which states that if you don't get a + OPK but see the thermal shift that you should consider OPK-ing 2x's a day. Once at noon & once at 8PM. I don't know about that. These things are super expensive PLUS I'd become way dehydrated from not drinking anything & holding my pee for 4 hours each time. That is really a kllier!

How's everyone doing? Wow, do I need to catch up on my reading!! My weekend was good but we did have some rain which is very normal here.

Wow, I can't believe the average for #2 is 14 months.…I should have been trying a long time ago!:p Kiki - I know exactly how you feel……I just turned 34 last month!!!

As for lingerie – sevearal months ago DH found some of mine boxed up & asked if I would wear it:rolleyes: …..of course I told him no since I will be freeeeezen my tush & everything else off! Sebeski flannel would be much nicer. :p

Ok, dumb question here....why do you have to hold your pee in for 4 hours to test? I went and bought some early pg tests, so I can have them on hand...not sure if I want to test before AF arrives (supposed to be arriving on the 16th) or just wait since the accuracy is decreased if you take it early. But the TEMPTATION is really getting to me. Has anyone used these ones before?

jenjen0713
05-08-2006, 02:12 PM
purpleorchids - I'm not entirely certain, but I think the reason to hold it for 4 hours so it isn't diluted and will detect whatever hormones you are wanting it to detect. If you drink some liquids, then it might dilute your urine and cause a false negative. I've only taken a pregnancy test when I was a day late. I just didn't think I could deal with a negative. sorry can't help you there.

Purpleorchids~ the 'hold the pee for 4 hrs' I was referring to is for OPK tests NOT pg tests. Though, most pg tests I've taken all say to hold the pee for 2 hours before taking them. These are the Early Pregnancy Tests not the one's you use after your first missed period. Sorry for that confusion!

Your son is a cutie pie!

Purpleorchids: What kind of test did you buy? When I was pg the first time I got a BFP 2 days before my missed AF. It was a "first response" test. I think it depends on the sensitivity of the test. I always trust FMU the most.

Jenjen, Look at that adorable little man! He does need a sib.

Okay, I still have no idea if I O'd, so we want to BD a bit more to cover our bases, but here's the problem.... I just weaned DS this past weekend. Hi Girls!
Just wanted to announce the big news...which was I ended up with a BFP yesterday morning. I had been getting microscopic lines all weekend, and although I know that "a line is a line." These were ridiculous. I had one digital test, but was hesitant. At least with a line, you can speculate.

But I finally caved in, and I couldn't believe it when I got the word "pregnant."
We're still in shock.

Well, DH and I had a long talk about #2 last night. He's been blowing me off when I tell him that I'm fertile and it was getting old. I really think it has a LOT to do with why it hasn't been successful yet. He finally admited that something is wrong and he knows he's doing it. But he says he REALLY wants a second, it's just that I"m fertile at the wrong times. WTF? Finally, I looked at him and said "You either want another baby or not, if you do, you need to put aside your own issues and work with me, or you need to tell me that now isn't the right time. I'm done going on this rollercoaster every month. Either we are seriously trying or not." He finally got it that this is really too much for me to handle. And he promised to make it easier. And we were able to move on and DTD. It's been a rough few months for us, but I think that we finally needed to be more open, especially me. I've not been dealing well with the rollercoaster, but I wasn't tell DH, I was just getting grumpy and mad. Now that I explained what if felt like for me each month, he finally realized that it is taking a toll on me and on us. So, we'll see. The window is just opening this month so it should be a good shot at it this month.

kiki-Thanks. yeah i think it will help a lot. He's such a "guy" sometimes. He lets everything "roll with the punches" and I just can't do that. That's the foundation of 99% of our problems when we do have problems. I just need him to be more understanding than he is sometimes. :)

lady - Glad to hear you and DH talked through what was going on.

Brink and jmvan - Hypothetically, if you were to test, when would you test???? Inquiring minds need to know! :D

There are some cute little kids out there! What precious babies everyone has!

I think my BBT is on the fritz....I'm getting weirdo temperatures so I think the battery is going dead. Think I need to go to Walgreens and get me a new one and maybe get me some OPKs.

i know in reality its not that long but good grief. i just want to know that i did O so i can relax and not BD every two seconds!!!

Here, here Kiki!

Lady: Your DH and mine should get together. TTC is so stressful on our relationships. I'm glad you were able to discuss it with DH. I think that's what I need to do b/c I've found myself getting upset at him over things that are compeltely ridiculous. *sigh*

Jenjen: If I decide to test it won't be until next Thursday. I am CD21 today and I have no idea what DPO I am. I am buying a new thermometer this afternoon and I will begin temping with next cycle. (well, hopefully, I won't have to, but I don't want to get my hopes up. )

Oh. My. Go_. I am sooooooooooooooo over this BD_ing marathon that's been going on forever this cycle. I must have completely been gaging my O date on false info. CD15 here and no O. No + OPK. Just lots & lots of watery & EWCM. My ovaries hurt so flipping bad. DH has become so 'de-sensitized' that DTD takes f-o-r-e-v-e-r. It was nice in the beginning, but come on. Hi Ladies!
Thanks so much for all the congrats. Yes, I'm a January mommy - EDD is January 15, 2007. Such a trip. My first appt isn't until June 2nd. So it still doesn't feel 'real' until I hear the doc say the word.

I have high hopes that y'all will be joining the RO club soon.

Yeah for Friday!

I *think* I have my first + OPK. I was using 2 different types; the Clearblue Easy smilies & Safeway's Easy OPK. Surprisingly, I liked the Safeway OPK's better because I could see the 2nd line always. With the smilies I could just barely see a second line. Now, I am well aware that a line that is not as dark or darker as the control is negative but I got to wondering if the smilies just weren't as sensitive? I even did one of each & the Safeway was very visible, smilies not at all visible. I am out of Safeway OPK's so today I went to Walgreens & picked up the 20 test strip pack by Answer and what do I see? A questionable 2nd line. These OPK's you only have to hold your peepee for 2 hours which is much more doable for me. So now, I have to question this second line but I guess it really doesn't matter since we're still DTD every night anyway. I wish I would of had a for sure - to compare the 2. I suppose the only thing that would change if it were a for sure + would be that we would BD tonight & tomorrow AM instead of just nighttime nookie. I suppose I can retest this afternoon but I'm so sick of TTC this cycle. :(

Anyway, I've recorded it as + in FF.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Arrgh!!! I can't count and it's driving me crazy. I was super-PMSy last weekend and thought ok I'm due on Wed. so that's normal. Well it's Sat. and no AF. We're not TTC until July so I know I'm not pg. I hadn't really been tracking my cycles. I was 28-29 days before DS and figured I was close to that now. So here we are at 31 days. WTF?!?! Then, I went and got the calender. Ummmm AF's not due until NEXT Wed. :o All this anxiety for nothing.

since we're posting our DC.... ;)

kind of lurking in this thread. neither of us is getting any younger but for work reasons I really need to space kids out a bit (I'm self employed and in a physically demanding job - I basically have to shut down for six months for maternity leave which effectively kills my business for the next 12 months) Anyway, my DD is 18 months old this June and I think we both agree that we are going to try for a second. The question is when. I would love to wait til DD is at least 5-6 but I just don't think that will work - I'll be 40 next year. :( and he'll be 47. :( :( so, we'll see...

JenJen~ I had $40 + invested in this cycle (OPK costs) & I was not about to let it be a bust without a fight! TMI: Yesterday early AM we tried to COA once last time and after 15 min I told him to stop. I just couldn't do 'it' anymore. Today I go to the doc for a possible UTI. It'll all be worth it if we get that BFP! :D

jmvan ~ Ooooooh! 10 DPO!!! Fingers crossed!

Around 10:30pm last night I gave him some Pediacare & we didn't hear from him till 6:30 this morning. He's pretty wiped today and napping alittle early with some Pediacare & an elevated crib. Poor kid. Sinus congestion is the worst IMO. :(

Bucktown - So cool to see the little smiley face. Good luck to you.

Well, I think I'm 12 DPO and CD 16 (remember I had a positive OPK on CD4). I took one of the OPK's this morning trying to use it as a PG Test and I don't think that worked. It had the solid "test" line and a faint second line, but that faint second line is always there, so I think I just wasted a test. I'll try to hold off for a few more days before taking a real HPT. We'll see.

I've been out of work for few days, so I better get busy.

Brink - Whoa, hold on one second!! You are 12 DPO and took an OPK and there were two lines? Didn't someone say that an OPK with two lines might be an indication of pregnancy?? Young lady, I think you need to march you fanny to the store and buy a HPT!

Brink
05-15-2006, 12:26 PM
jmvan74 and jenjen0713 - Thanks for the good thoughts on the OPK, but I really don't think it means anything. I was getting a faint line on the OPK all last month until the one time I got the two dark lines when I think I O'd. Now it is back to looking like it did before the two dark lines (one dark, one light). I'm not convinced that the OPK works the same as the HPT this early in the process. I'm heading over to the drugstore now and will buy an HPT for tomorrow morning (I just can't wait any longer).

Oh, and one of my girlfriends just found out she is PG with #2. Her DD is 13 months and they were not even trying. She had to use clomid for her first one and it took her 2 years to get pg. So, I think sometimes our bodies do learn from the first PG. There is hope for all of us yet!

Jilly – Congratulations!!

Jmvan – maybe you are pg! I started to actually feeling queasy the last week and half, that’s why I felt like I might be PG and been antsy in taking the PG test. Thanks for the compliment. It was so hard to take pictures outside since all she wanted to do was run around.

Bucktown - Thanks for posting the smilie face OPK – way to cute! I hope your DS gets better soon.

Allegra – I love the pictures that you take, they are beautiful.

Update: Since I have been obsessed about taking the PG test early or not due to my symptoms, I decided to take one on Friday. And what do I see, two pink lines!!! :) One was lighter than the other but there was two. Just to make sure I tested again yesterday and again I get two pink lines and they were both dark! :D I looked up my potential due date which like it will be Jan 23rd. I am planning to go to the Dr. office this Thursday to get the official confirmation.

Anyhow, I'm going to call and see what I need to do for a referral to an OB. I had a m/c before I had DD so I'm being cautious but if this is real, OMG! I guess I belong in this group, as well as the 2ww group! My DD is almost 2.5 years old and this is our first official month TTC #2. We got pregnant on our first try with my DD, but we all know that doesn't mean anything for future TTC attempts. I am 9 DPO today and will be testing this weekend. I am charting my cycle this month and also used a OPK for the first time ever, and everything indicates that we had perfect timing. Only time will tell, though! :)

Welcome to our newest ladies - may your stay be short.

Well, I tested this morning and it was a BFN! I'm not surprised, I didn't really have any symptoms and we only DTD once last month (although according to the OPK it was the right timing). I'm not going to start getting dissapointed until July. After that, I'm going to my GYN to get clomid!

Big congrats to all the BFPs!! H & H 9 months!!!

I've been really quiet in this thread- we've had to put our TTC plans on hold for a little while because I have to get some extensive dental work done. :( But in the meantime, I'm still practicing with the charting so when we're ready I'll remember what to do! One nice side-effect from pg is that my cycles have shortened and become more regular- has anyone else found that to be true? I've also had some wonky temps (101.2 this morning and I know for a fact that I don't have a fever  ) so I think I need to invest in a new BBT.

Anyway, welcome to all the newcomers and congratulations again to all the grads!

One nice side-effect from pg is that my cycles have shortened and become more regular- has anyone else found that to be true?

Yes, I have definitely noticed this! Before I got pregnant with my DD, my cycles were so irregular and were somewhere around 36-38, even 40 days long. I usually ovulated on or around CD 21. (Can't tell you how annoyed I was when I got pregnant and my OBGYN's office got out that darn pregnancy wheel that assumes every woman has a 28-day cycle and ovulates on CD 14...) Now my cycles are averaging 28-29 days and I ovulated on CD 17 this month. The regularity is rather nice, if I do say so myself.

I'm on CD 27, 10 DPO and I am dying to test....I almost forgot how hard it is to be in the 2ww!!! I hope I have the willpower to hold out till the weekend :)

Probably reading too much into this, but those of you who are pregnant and charting, do you notice that your CM doesn't disappear after you concieved? lady ~ I definitely had more CM once pg. My GF does too. She always has to wear a pantyliner (she's pg now). I don't remember it being that much but I do remember an increase.

kiki~ I'm sorry to say this but I don't think you O'd this cycle. :( do you have anyother charts we can look at?

JenJen~ So now that we have all these BFP's are you still positive you want to start now??? :p

As for me, I'm sick as a dog. I caught DS's head cold & it's pretty nasty. I could not stop sneezing from 2 PM till 10PM yesterday, and then I was up every hour or so because I couldn't breath thru my nose and my mouth was so d@mn dry! Today I'm battling with the severe sinus congestion, lack of sleep & DS. Ugh. I couldn't even temp this morning since I couldn't breathe thru my nose while it reads.

Tomorrow DS & I are off to Philly for the weekend to visit some family. I hope I feel better by our flight time. DS is back to normal but still has a runny nose. He's not letting it stop him!

Congrats to the newly pregnant!! Wow, I went away for a few days and this is exciting!

For us, we went to BIL's graduation in Cleveland and then to my grandfather's funeral in VA- we were going to have a vacation during O time but our plans were changed unexpectedly, but sometimes things just don't work out. I think we are "out" for the month. I'm starting to think that perhaps (and I am not saying this lightly) that its not God's plan for us to have a baby right now. Every month something BIG comes up during O time. Its okay though.

Kiki! thanks for the info. I don't remember having that problem with DS, but first pregnancy was weird for me, I had NO signs of being pregnant outside a BFP and tender breasts! I wonder if it will be the same this time....

One week to wait! First one went quick! And I bought a 3 pack of First Response Tests...I fully expect them to get used up by next Sunday! :)

Bucktown - Sorry you and DS have been sick. No fun. Hope you are feeling better. Have a safe trip!

HGMorgann - I'm so sorry to hear about your grandfather.

kiki - Where you regular before having the baby? I have to agree with Bucktown, that I don't think you've O'd yet. :( I know on fertility friend they have a chart gallery to look at ovulatory and annovulatory charts.

Who are all our testers in the next week????

Who are all our testers in the next week????

<raises hand>

I'm on CD 29, 12 DPO. My temps remain high and my cycles are typically 28-29 days, so I am cautiously optimistic. I was really bad and took a test this morning with FMU and saw what could have been a very, very slight line. I know a lot of people say "a line is a line" but I just won't allow myself to believe it until I can look at it and have absolutely no doubt that it's a blazing line :) For now, I prefer to believe that I got a Big Fat Neutral. I have 2 more tests (and no qualms about running out and buying more :p ) so hopefully I can hold out until Sunday before I test again. Although, I know I will probably give in and test tomorrow morning too if my temps are still high and there is no sign of AF...I have no willpower!

This is only our first cycle TTC #2 so I am trying to tell myself I won't be really disappointed if it's not our month. But of course, I would love a BFP too :)

after dd i never got my period so like a fool i went back on bcp. now i'm off and want to ttc #2 but i have a feeling i'm still out of whack.

kiki, did you recently go off BCP? Because it can take a while for your cycle to regulate again once you go off BCP. I know my first 3 or so cycles off BCP were really wacky and it took a few months before things seemed "normal" again. Never mind - I just saw your 2nd post where you said that this is your first cycle since BCP. In that case, I would give it a few months. I think it would be a good idea for you to continue to chart so you can track what is happening. Then, if it seems like you are still not Oing, at least you have an appt with your doctor coming up in July and can ask them about it then and it would be really helpful to show them your charts. Good luck :)

Winter Biscuit - so exciting for you. I can't wait to hear if that line shows up again!

Not much going on around here. AF arrived with a vengence this month. Since I O'd so early last month, I think I'll start the OPK's the minute AF retreats.

Have a great Friday.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, ladies. It's nice to have this venue and the support. Nobody IRL knows I am TTC except for my DH (obviously ;)) and one girlfriend. I've been dying to tell the world, so thanks for being there :)

TTC #2: late summer 2006

I have some issues which means I need to make an appt soon so we know things will be fine before we try. I stopped BC this month (heard conflicting stories as to when to stop).

AF showed up yesterday, right on schedule. Not upset as we aren't actively TTC until July. I am happy that my cycles seem to be regular 28-29days.

Congrats to all the new mommies to be!

Winter Bisciut - Any News?

Winter Bisciut Anything to report?

I feel so loved :p :)

I had a REALLY high temp today (100.38) which was a little wacky but at least my temps are still high and AF has not arrived. It's CD 30 and I'm 13 DPO. I took a cheapie test this morning with FMU and basically got the same thing I got yesterday -- something that could be considered a line if you look at it long enough, but it definitely didn't get very dark at all and it is very, very faint. You can't even see it unless you really study the test, if you know what I mean? It's driving me nuts because I guess I would have expected the lines to be darker if I am, indeed, pregnant. I have one "good" pregnancy test that I have been saving for tomorrow...we'll see how that one turns out. But dang, my boobs are sore! I hate not knowing if they are sore because I might be pregnant or because AF might be on her way. (If AF is on her way, she brought along some seriously nasty PMS.) However, I remain cautiously optimistic (yet confused) as my temps remain high.

As luck would have it, my DH's uncle died and we're off to the funeral on the other side of the state tomorrow. We won't be back home until Monday evening so I won't be able to come back and post until late Monday or even Tuesday.

Is anyone else testing??? Please tell me I'm not the only one playing the waiting game this weekend!

ETA - it's Sunday morning 6:30am and I figured I'd post a quick update before we leave. I had another really high temp today - 102.34  Could this be the beginning of a triphasic pattern?? Anyway, I took my "good" test this morning with FMU and while I got a line, it is very very faint. Not even half as dark as the control line. The instructions say that if I see two rose-colored lines, I am likely pregnant but if I only see one rose-colored line, I likely am not. The 2nd line is so faint that I wouldn't call it rose-colored?? Am I pregnant or not? Is it really true that "a line is a line" and the 2nd (test) line does NOT need to be as dark as the control line the way they do on an OPK? I'm such a skeptic that I think I'll wait a few more days and if there's still no AF I'll call my doctor to get a blood test. FWIW, it's CD 31 and I'm 14 DPO. based on the average length of my last several cycles, AF could be considered late. My boobs are still tender and I feel somewhat nauseous this morning -- not like I'm going to throw up, but just like I'd feel better if I had some food in my tummy (I'm not necessarily hungry, just feel like I need some substance in there to tide me over). Why is it so difficult for me to admit that I could be pregnant?!

Just to give an idea of how faint the lines on the HPT are...control lines on left, very faint test lines on right

CONGRATULATIONS WINTER BISCUIT!!!!

Your tests look EXACTLY the same as mine 3 months ago with DC#2. Seriously, I took two $ store tests, then an Equate and they looked EXACTLY the same! I would say, call your OB for a confirm tomorrow. You most definitely preggers. :D

We're back!

Congrats Winter Biscuit!!!!

9DPO here. Haven't temped in a long time due to cold. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get a good temp. Not so sure about testing. I have 1 FR sitting under my sink. Just not feeling too optimistic.

Bucktown, I know what you mean! I'm about the same spot you are and I'm thinking, why bother testing before the 2nd of the month anyway, it'll be negative and the next day AF will show...waste of money...

WB - Congrats- and yes those are LINES!!!!! i think you are definately preggers you lucky dog!

as for me - still waiting to O. its cd 29.
i got a really high temp this morning. not sure if its a sign that i did O or not. i've been up and down with temps anyways so who the heck knows.
i swear if i knew BCP did all this craziness i would have never went on them! DH is on nites for work for the next 8 weeks
not good timing at all. i've been really depressed lately about his working, this whole TTC thing that we havent been BD-ing (which doesnt help TTC but i just cant!) :(

Bucktown

lady at least we have eachother :( :D I'm sooooo happy for everyone here that has gotten BFP's lately but I gotta admit, each time I see a new posting my heart drops and I start feeling sorry for myself. I don't understand it since I've been on a rollercoaster with DS over the past few weeks & just feeling like a horrible mom for some of my parenting choices and thinking (some days) that I really don't want to do it again. But here we (DH & I) are, still TTC, still peeing on OPK's & charting hoping to catch that egg, still being awfully disappointed when I see that BFN. I don't get it. Am I the only one???? Maybe it's due to DS age and him turning 2 next month?

kiki I sure hope that your temp rise this AM was your O. Even if the timing wasn't right this time it'll help you get it right next time. WOW, re: your DH and work. That's gotta be pretty hard and you're right, it doesn't help in TTC. What about DTD when your DC is napping in the afternoon? Maybe your DH might like a little afternoon delight? ;)

i work close to home and go home for lunch every day - i was thinking that on my drive home today! not that i want a 'nooner' and have to go back to work after that but hey = desperate times call for desperate measures!

Bucktown- I totally understand. I'm truly thrilled for everyone that is pregnant, but it's hard not to start my pitty party. I'm not out totally for this month, but I'm thinking based off of my moods that I am. Sigh. My girlfriend is due in 3 weeks and was supposed to be my preggo buddy. Guess not this time around...

My girlfriend is due in 8 weeks & her & I were PB's for DC#1. Weird. I think I'm out too cause my moods are flying all over the place. Could also be that I'm tired from a week of hardly no sleep.

lady1297

Ugh! Tell me about hardly no sleep. Sometimes I think DS is intentionally making it hard to have a sibling. If only he knew how much fun they are!!

Bucktown - I'm so glad you have your chart link in your signature so I can stalk, eh, I mean study it each day! :) You had some great BDing going on. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Kiki - hehe, I'm just sitting here thinking about how funny it is that we consider nooners. What sacrifices we make! :)

I'm just chugging along at CD6...should be O'ing sometime next week. I'm debating whether to get some OPKs or not.
