It took a while, but Gary Vaynerchuck of Wine Library TV found time during his book tour to sit down in front of his trusty camera and answered some basic questions about wine (he’s one crazy busy guy recording his Wine Library TV episodes daily - it took nearly three months to get a response back to us). He can be a bit controversial and “in the name of “expanding one’s palate”, Gary convinced Conan O’Brien to lick salted rocks and shared samples of dirt and grass with Ellen Degeneres. He routinely pans popular wines (even ones sold in his store, the Wine Library)”. He is most definitely not your mama’s wine expert.

My favorite wine a Cahors from Southwest France. Until those Argentinean upstarts came along, it was the only 100% Malbec wine, and it has lovely deep flavor and goes particularly well with duck, which is, not coincidentally, a featured player in the cuisine of southwest France and one of my favorite meats.
