I’m a Boston-area full-time mom and part-time freelance copyeditor. I love working at home! You might get a kick out of this: http://verbatim.blogs.com/verbatim/2008/03/a-thriving-but.html

I work from home, too, and I have to cats who do the same- snuggle time is always around 2 or 3pm and it forces me to stop sometimes and take a break! Thanks for sharing.

Full-time work at home person here. I’m on my 8th year working from home and my 6th year doing it full time. The best home office device you can get? The mute button. We’ve also disabled the doorbell figuring I’d see a UPS truck and anyone who knows us would know that we don’t answer the doorbell.

I’m a hypnotherapist. I rent a separate office, which is where I see clients. But I don’t have access to it all the time. So, when I’m not seeing clients, I’m working from home.

My biggest challenge is that my boyfriend (who lives with me) also works from home. We’re constantly invading each other’s space and I don’t think it’s great for our relationship. Any advice on this topic is most welcome!

I’m in my first year of working part-time from home as I grow my coaching practice. I’ve set up a sunny, organized home office with a seating area in one of our spare bedrooms. My cat Chloe sits in on most of my calls as our Golden Retriever Winston patiently waits outside the closed office door.
I love the space I have created and look forward to transitioning to full-time in the near future.
It’s wonderful to connect with other women who are creating the lives they want and enjoying it on their own terms!

I always worked outside of the home and when I began my chilly jilly business i worked from home for the first time. There are definitely positives and negatives. I love my workspace . It is all sunny and fun even though it is a bit disorganized most of the time. I also love having the company of my yellow lab all day long. I think it is difficult to keep track of time and the day goes much too fast since I began to work from home.
Sometimes friends and family forget I am working because I am at home and there are a lot of interruptions. I haven’t dealt very well with that.

Thanks for all of the great feedback, everyone! I’m working on my next post as we speak, and am going to share some of my thoughts and ideas around sharing your home work space with the ones you love (even when they drive you crazy!). More to come soon!
