My team at mokugift has create a great gift for the holidays: eTree. Our mokugift eTrees are similar to e-cards, but unlike e-cards, eTrees are fun online gifts that recipients can display year-round on an online island at mokugift.com as well as on their social network profiles and blogs. For every eTree purchased, mokugift plants a tree in the real world.

I could set up Constant Chatter with some free eTrees if you would like, just email me.

Regards,
Hans

Looch, well, that's the only problem with the pyrex. The lids are plastic. However, since the majority of them are glass, it's still a better choice than an entire container of plastic. And because the containers are glass, you can use them in the microwave without fear of the plastic leeching chemicals into your food! So all around it's a better choice, I think. And I saw that Target had some sets of them for a pretty good price. I got a set of 5 (various sizes) for $23, which would not buy the equivalent in Tupperware.

Thank you for this blog. DH and I are trying to become more aware of our carbon footprint, and your article has inspired to make that our New Year's resolution.

Regarding the pyrex containers that your husband brings for work, what kind of lids come with them?
I am thinking of ditching my plastic ware once and for all.

Thanks!

Great article! This is definitely something we should all be thinking about this time of year. I know DH & I have tried to do some environmentally friendly things (like giving Terrapasses and World Wildlife Fund memberships as gifts), but there are certainly things we can improve upon. This article has given me some good ideas!

Another thing to consider is the Christmas tree. If there's a farm nearby, it's worth it to get a fresh tree because the $$ supports land being given over to treegrowing, rather than industrialization.

For a great lunch tote (reusable) check out laptoplunches.com
