I have to admit…I was super-excited for this weeks episode because I thought for sure the Halloween episode would feature a really awesome photo shoot. I guess I did not do enough research to know this was a recap episode. I watched anyway…it seems my disappointment was to continue with the rest of the Halloween programming.
We start at the beginning, which shows Tyra telling the girls they are semi-finalists…most noticeably Ebony. Interesting editing given last week’s course of events. We continue with the theme of rocking the boat as we join the girls on their cruise. The motion makes Victoria sick and many of the other girls get sick of Ebony. Ebony’s attitude is noticeable from the start and she and Bianca get into it.
After the smoking ban, many were left wondering how many girls smoked and how they managed to quit cold turkey. The answers…well, at least one indication was shown tonight. Jenah shows symptoms of withdrawl and her response is a little hyper. In the end she chips her tooth on the pool and is sent to the dentist.
Normally, I like to do these summaries in order, but I’m going to put my need for order aside for a second to devote a paragraph to Bianca. I probably shouldn’t, but just this once, I will. Bianca’s attitude starts early, but we were exposed to new confrontations this week. The first was with Ebony, but really, a confrontation between those two should not have been a surprise. The second is with Chantal when she comes to Saliesha’s defense after Bianca’s tiff about the runway challenge. We also see Bianca antagonize Heather which I can’t even bring myself to comment on. Despite all the attitude from Bianca, we also see more of her softer side in regards to Kimberly’s elimination and following ability to learn how to plunge a toilet. While Heather reveals she thought she was ugly…Bianca reveals she got picked on a lot.
After the make-over episode, Saliesha reveals that she struggles with her new look. No kidding…she looks like TOOTIE! I am also not digging Jenah’s new do. It’s taken me a while to determine this, but I liked her look a lot more before. I think it’s the color.
We also got to view Tyra’s visit with Dani and the doctor to talk with the girls about body image. Sarah discusses that she’s too big and too small. Heather reveals she’s always been on the skinny side because of her medication’s side effect is loss of appetite.
In the end, we’re left with Ambreal, Heather, Saliesha, Sarah, Chantal, Bianca, Jenah and Lisa. Who will be America’s Next Top Model?
